My fave bit of lore that Kojima sadly and brutally erased and ignored was the fact Naomi is saved by Solid Snake.

After Shadow Moses, Naomi is arrested and imprisoned. But shortly after, someone breaks in and rescues her. It was David. He never abandoned Naomi despite everything. Frank would be proud.
