Lark's chest heaved, straining against his Kevlar vest. The gun did not shake in his hands. His finger was steady on the trigger. He stared down the barrel into Nick's eyes.

He’d found them beautiful once, like the burning blaze of a collapsing sun. Now they were filled with a static flicker as a splattering of red, blue, and green glitched through hazy pixels like two small, busted analog television screens.

“Laaaarrrrrk.” Nick's voice crackled, but not with the infernal tongue he'd sometimes slip in, no with a distorted edge like a submerged speaker.

His eyes narrowed. “Foster.”

“Noooottt quuuuuittttttte.”

While I'm hoping to participate in nark week, I'm unsure if I'll be able to crank something out for each prompt. So I'm hoping to add a chapter here and there to existing fics I've done and some I've said are already completed so keep an eye out. 😘

“I didn't,” Nick smirked, the tips of his horns glowing that much brighter. “You said you wanted something new and fun.”

Lark groaned, a smile tugging at his lips, his head falling to the back of the couch. “I should have known; that’s why we had to be alone.” He chuckled. "Alright, so what is it?”

"Well, songbird…” Warm thighs enveloped him as Nick lowered into his lap. “We’re about to find out.” Nick mumbled, kissing him.
