How Personalized Skin Care Boxes Preserve and Safeguard Products?
Tumblr media
In today’s dynamic world, customers have become more conscious about product safety. Quality products have become the priority of customers for skincare. Thus, brands pay keen attention not only to Skincare products but also to the Boxes that carry them. Custom Skin Care Boxes are significant in cosmetic brands. They serve to safeguard skin care products from all external factors. Not only this, but they also reflect your product's worth to customers.
In addition, customized boxes are great for strengthening your brand identity. These boxes communicate to customers about your product quality. Today, in this comprehensive guide, we look at the significance of custom boxes for the skincare business. So, let’s start the discussion.
The Role of Skincare Boxes
Skin is the largest and most sensitive body organ. It requires quality products to avoid redness and rashes. The product for skin care is susceptible to various factors like dust, temperature, pollution and chemicals. That’s why skincare boxes are necessary to preserve the products from all aspects.
Apart from protecting products, custom Skin Mist Boxes help set brand status. They are promising marketing agents in a competitive market. Brands choose custom boxes to promote products. Moreover, custom Boxes are excellent solutions to enhance product appeal. Customers always prefer products that can justify their worth. So, packaging helps them become prominent in all brands.
If you are going to select custom boxes for a skincare brand, consider the following factors. It will help you to succeed in such a dense market.
Select Quality Material;
Product safety is totally dependent on the material you select for packaging. So, pay keen attention while selecting the material for skincare products. These products need more safety than any other product. Opt for a material that is durable and sturdier in nature. Also, it can withstand all the tough conditions.
Besides that, the material must be eco-friendly for custom skincare boxes. Sustainable material packaging has become the priority of customers. Also, this is necessary to show your brand's contribution towards environmental safety. Thus, the cardboard and kraft material is the best choice for your brand. You can minimize the carbon footprints with these materials. They are lightweight and easily customizable.
Unanimous Packaging for skincare brand
The skincare products are prone to heat, dust and other particles. While designing the Custom Skin Stick Boxes, ensure the compatibility of packaging with the product. It is necessary to preserve the creams, serums, sticks, and moisturizers. You can also apply the UV coating and lamination to ensure product safety. They give a double layer of protection to all sensitive products. These options also keep the products effective throughout the shelf life.
Align the Product Design with the Brand;
Custom skin care Boxes represent your brand. Packaging must reflect your brand identity. That’s why you can incorporate designs that match your brand vision. This will set your cream boxes apart from all the competitors. So, incorporate the colors that show the essence of your brand.
Most skincare brands choose colors that reflect their brand vision. You can also use this method to highlight your products. Custom Skin Toner Boxes in colorful themes enhance the appeal of branded products. Light colors give skincare products an engaging and sophisticated look. You can show the ingredients of creams and toners with identical colors. Hence, colors are great indicators of product flavors.
Incorporate the security features;
Every brand's main concern is product safety. You have to show the authenticity of products through packaging. For this, add stickers or QR codes to facilitate customers' verification of original branded products. In this way, you can manage the quality of products and also win customers' trust.
Accurate Size and shape;
Selecting the right size of custom cream boxes is necessary. The packaging of products must come fit to products. So that the product container remains at the exact place and avoids unnecessary movement.
What makes custom skincare Boxes essential?
Every product needs packaging for various purposes. However, skincare products require packaging to retain their quality. These boxes give brands countless benefits. Let’s talk about these advantages.
Extend Product Life
Custom Boxes play a pivotal role in safeguarding skin care products. Customers get damage-free products due to the high quality of the boxes. They avoid dust, dirt, high temperatures, and other factors which damage the quality of products. Thus, brands protect the products in strong and sturdier boxes to increase product life.
In addition, the application of lamination creates a shield against all external damages. The thin layer of protection stops humidity, dirt and all contaminations. It preserves the products from UV rays and maintains their quality for a long time. These boxes ensure that customers will receive safe products. Also, they bring them back to your shop.
Enhance the Product Value
When Custom Skin Wax Boxes come with full aesthetics, it melt the customer’s heart. The attractive designs and stylish packaging create hype for products. Customers love to get innovative packaging boxes for skincare products. You can choose a variety of designs to impress the clients. For this brand, put graphic images to show flawless skin after product use. It compels the customers to buy your products after seeing such images.
In addition, the artistic look of the packaging draws customers' attention to the products. Due to distinctive designs, they want to explore the inside of the items. Besides that, the modern look of products with different styles draws buyers. It elevates the products' worth on shelves.
Tumblr media
Free Marketing of Brands
When you establish a business, you need the publicity to stand out. Thus, brands hire marketing agents and give them heavy fees to advertise brands. However, the Custom printed Skin care boxes offer free-of-cost marketing to its brands. You just need to print the eye-catching logo designs to introduce the products in the market. The brand names, taglines and other details promote your business on a larger scale.
Customers find authentic products that come with brand details. As thousands of brands operate in the market, you have to ensure your presence with custom-printed boxes. They help you become popular among others. Also, it helps the customers read about the product details on packaging. They get information about the brand through packaging. This builds the customer’s trust in your brand.
Enhance the attraction with multiple features.
Custom Boxes for skincare products offer you multiple features. You can magnify the product outlook with them. By choosing these features you also uplift your brand status. So Select from the following that suits your brand needs.
Embossing
Debossing
Spot UV
Foil Stamping
Conclusion
In conclusion, product safety requires quality Custom skincare boxes. These boxes serve safety purposes for all types of skincare products. Customers love to get sustainable and durable packaging for products. Brands choose valuable boxes to showcase the products on shelves. They print the brand names and other product details to satisfy the customers. To ensure the authenticity of products, brands put QR codes and stickers.
Moreover, the attractive, colorful themes also help to achieve the customer’s attention. You will get a free marketing agent through the custom-printed packaging. It will advertise the brand and its products without any fee.

This box doesn’t come with an info sheet, but it does have a card with a QR code you can scan. The contents of the box are snuggly packaged. And it’s always nice to see full-size products inside.
Sometimes we receive bonus samples, like this Isntree sun cream and Mary & May foil sample set.
Like last month, we also received the Heimish matcha toner. I really like this; it’s perfect for traveling.
BomiBox “Radiance” Box Review
Frudia Ultra UV Shielf Sun Essence, 50 g – Retail Value $10.80
This sunscreen has a really lovely formula and is quite pleasant to use- nothing heavy or greasy over here!  When a sunscreen is labeled as an essence, I’m expecting something lightweight, thin, and easy to apply, and all of those things were true for this sun cream by Frudia. It was really hydrating to my skin and left no white cast.
Be The Skin BHA + Pore Zero Toner, 150 mL – Retail Value $17.20
I’ve received a few products from this BHA+ Pore Zero line by Be The Skin, and I like that it’s made with willow bark extract and is fragrance-free. This is designed to target excess oil production which isn’t something I particularly struggle with, but this didn’t feel irritating or stripping on my skin which I definitely appreciate.
Skinfood Egg White Pore Mask, 125 g – Retail Value $11
I like this brand, and they’re a bit more mainstream than other K-Beauty brands (you can find Skinfood at Ulta!). I don’t reach for pore masks often because of my skin type, but sometimes I just crave a clay mask. Along with egg whites, this has kaolin and bentonite clay. I was happy that this didn’t fully harden the way some other clay masks do, and it didn’t leave my skin feeling like I had just stripped it of its moisture, either.
Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics, 10 mL – Estimated Value $4.80 (buy the 50 mL version for $24)
This is a very trendy skincare product right now, so I am stoked that it was included in the subscription box. While I am technically allergic to chemical sunscreen filters, I have found that I don’t experience reactions when I use sunscreens with Korean filters compared to the standard Western filters. After carefully giving this a try for the first time, I can see why this is such a loved product! It absorbs in easily without any effort needed to rub it in, and the rice extract and probiotics made this super nourishing to my skin and even imparted a very soft and natural-looking glow. I’ll enjoy using this sample up!
Laneige Cream Skin Refiner, 50 mL – Estimated Value $12.94 (buy the 170 mL version for $44)
For a while about a year or so ago this was one of the most hyped-up products on Instagram, but I still never have actually tried this before now. I can see why many people enjoy it- especially in the mist format! This is a very watery toner that has ceramides, peptides, glycerin, mushroom, and hyaluronic acid in the formula. My skin absolutely soaks it up and finds it to be deliciously hydrating, and I can tell this is a product my skin would like if it was dealing with a lot of inflammation and irritation (which, thankfully, I currently am not).
Editor’s Note: The Laneige Cream Skin Refiner appears to be rebranded and/or reformulated to the Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer.
Jumiso Waterfall Hyaluronic Acid Sunscreen, 5 mL – Retail Value $4.60
This box is really just all about the sunscreen, and I fully support it. This is another hydrating sunscreen (to be fair, I don’t really think K-beauty sunscreens are known for being mattifying) formulated with three different weights of hyaluronic acid. It doesn’t leave a white cast or a greasy finish on my dry skin, and it didn’t burn my eyes- the only con is this small size will be empty in another use or two.
Nature Republic Real Nature Tea Tree Sheet Mask and Nature Republic Real Nature Shea Butter Sheet Mask – Retail Value $1.90 each
I’ve used quite a few of these Nature Republic masks over the years. They’re not super remarkable, but they get the job done. The tea tree mask is infused with a clear serum essence while the shea butter mask has a slightly thicker milky emulsion that has been infused with shea butter and flower extracts. If I had to pick a favorite between the two I would pick the shea butter because my skin liked the thicker essence, but both were nice.
Value – Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $44.99
Value Breakdown:
Frudia: $10.80
Be The Skin: $17.20
Skinfood: $11
Beauty of Joseon: $4.80
Laneige: $12.94
Jumiso: $4.60
Nature Republic masks: $1.90 each
Everything in the box adds up to $65.14!
Key Takeaways
I thought this month’s BomiBox subscription was another winner. I really enjoyed the focus on sunscreen (it’s the skincare product I go through the quickest), and I liked that two of the products featured have been very viral items. All of the brands were ones I had name recognition with which always adds a little extra personal value to the box for me, and I thought the monetary value of the box was fair too. While you may not think the value looks super high compared to the cost of the box, keep in mind that the values need to be taken with a grain of salt because I have to get the values from websites that ship directly from Korea and they can vary wildly (and then you have to wait for international shipping). I’ve been reviewing BomiBox for years, and I definitely recommend this subscription if you’re a fan of Korean skincare. If you’re looking for a monthly beauty box comprised exclusively of K-Beauty products, BomiBox is one of the best out there.
Keep Track of Your Subscriptions: Add this box to your subscription list or wishlist!
Other Things You Should Know

What do you think of this month’s BomiBox? Do you enjoy discovering K-Beauty products?

Skincare Routine Order
New Post has been published on https://skin-care-routine.com/skin-care-routine/skincare-routine-order/
Skincare Routine Order
A. In What Order Do I Apply My Skin Care Products?
We asked skin care professionals the question we ask each time we buy a new skin product or add a step to our routine: In what order should I apply my skin products, and does it matter? It turns out yes!
1. Sequence is important, here’s why
According to Dr. Heather Rogers, a dermatologist and certified dermatological surgeon, she uses her skin care products in the correct order to ensure that her skin receives all the benefits of each product.
“The order of application is extremely important,” says Dr. Rogers. “The function of the skin is to keep things out, but many of the skin products we use contain ingredients that we want to use. Only a small amount of these essential ingredients can penetrate the skin, even when perfectly formulated and perfectly applied. If you do not use the products in the correct order, you will not get the best results from your skin care routine. ”
2. How to layer your skin products: a step-by-step guide
So, which product comes down to what, you ask? A simple rule of thumb is to apply your products from the thinnest to the thickest consistency or from the liquid to the cream. “Think thin to thick in general, but you also want to use the products with the ingredients that are most important to penetrate the skin (like antioxidants in serums) and finish with the products you should put on your skin (like emollients and wetting agents in moisturizers), ”says Dr. Rogers.
3. Your daily regimen
According to Dr. Rogers’ morning routine is about protecting the sun, environmental pollution and the climate. So leave your exfoliating and treatment products, such as retinol, overnight.
a. Cleanser
In the morning, start by splashing your face with warm water or, if necessary, wash it off with a mild facial cleanser designed for your skin type.
b. Toner
Most people avoid toner, as most of them are still considered aggressive and irritating to the skin. Fortunately, this is no longer the case. Although it does not physically “shrink” the pores, the new generation of toners can serve several purposes, such as a delivery system for antioxidants, vitamin B derivatives and even clay acids. In addition, each type of toner is intended for a different skin problem. Therefore, it is important to use the correct type for your skin problem.
However, if you’ve lived without toner all your life and your skin looks healthy, according to Dr. Rogers you don’t need to use one. “Toners are designed to restore the skin’s pH after it has become very basic due to aggressive soaps,” explains Dr. Rogers. “Facial cleansers are now much more balanced than toners are not a necessary step for me.” However, if you have a toner that you like to use, it never hurts to hold it.
c. Antioxidant serum
Serums are highly concentrated and nutrient-rich treatments that target specific problems. Therefore, it is best to keep them as close to the skin as possible. There are several serums on the market today, but during the day, Dr. Rogers antioxidant serums that offer a range of benefits – from reducing the skin’s inflammatory response to neutralizing damage from ultraviolet rays and environmental pollutants.
d. Eye cream
According to Dr. Para Annie Chiu, a certified dermatologist, it is important to apply eye cream at least every night – if not twice a day – from the age of 20. “It is about maintaining the health and thickness of the skin of the eyelids. Improving the quality of the skin in this area from the beginning ensures that the skin of the eyelid does not lose its sagging and smooth appearance later.”
For best results, consistency is essential. “Regular use of eye cream over time maintains the elasticity of the eyelid skin and can improve or prevent some fine lines or loss of collagen. Remember: nothing is magical. The results are not achieved overnight, ”adds Dr. Chiu added. “You can further protect the delicate skin around your eyes by choosing an SPF eye cream or using sunscreen every day.” Dr. Chiu also advises people to wear sunglasses outdoors to protect themselves from damage from ultraviolet light and wrinkles that can pass through the corners of the eyes because of the strain.
e. Spot treatment
According to Dr. Diane De Fiori, dermatologist at the Rosacea Treatment Clinic, prescription drugs and special acne treatments should be applied as close to the skin as possible to maximize their benefits.
As the special acne treatments have different active ingredients, check the product packaging or contact your dermatologist for the best use. According to esthetician and acne expert Ashley Wiley, benzoyl peroxide, a common part in the treatment of acne blemishes, works for one to three hours. “Any cream that comes in contact with it before it ends is likely to prevent the active ingredient from working properly.” Remember that special acne treatments can dry out your skin. Therefore, you should only use them where you need them.
f. Moisturizer
Yes, everyone needs a moisturizer, even if you have oily skin. “Although your body has its own natural lubrication system, made from glands that secrete oil (or sebum) to provide a protective layer against infections and adverse external conditions, most of us need it after the chaos of the sun, climate and aggression. they spread additional moisture on our skin “, explains Dr. Sandra Kopp, a certified dermatologist.
Most experts recommend that the best time to apply a moisturizer is while your skin is still moist. The sooner you apply the serum and treatment, the sooner you can absorb the necessary moisture with the moisturizer.
If you are using a special acne treatment, you can skip these areas by applying the moisturizer to ensure that the ingredients do not interfere with the active ingredients in the treatment.
g. Sunscreen
The sunscreen should be the final step in your daily skin care routine when using any physical or mineral sunscreen that physically blocks ultraviolet rays. This step becomes difficult when you are using a chemical sunscreen.
Dr. Rogers explains: “Chemical sunscreens must be absorbed by the skin to be effective. Post-moisturizing application delays and prevents this. However, if you apply the chemical sunscreen before the moisturizer, it will not work as well because the skin is coated with chemical sunscreen. ”
To get around this, Dr. Rogers must use a physical sunscreen with zinc and apply it after the moisturizer. “Zinc is safe, effective and offers the widest protection against UVA and UVB rays.”
If you like using chemical sunscreens, look for a formula that offers moisturizing benefits so you can meet your daily hydration needs while protecting your skin.
4. Your night regime
Since your skin heals naturally at night, your nighttime routine should be about treating your skin and giving it what it needs, says Dr. Rogers. “If your skin looks dull, exfoliate it. When irritated, moisturize and protect. “Here’s the best order of skincare products to make sure you’re getting the most out of them:
a. (Double) cleanser
To remove dirt, grime, oil and makeup of the day, some experts recommend removing makeup with a special makeup remover first, before washing your face with a mild cleanser. Better yet, try a dual cleanse, where you first use a cleansing oil to dissolve your makeup and then wash your face again with the regular cleanser.
“The first step is to remove the makeup. This is the stage where you would normally use a cleansing oil ”, explains Kathleen Funk, a cosmetic acupuncturist and herbalist. “The second step is to use a facial soap to remove all the excess sebum, dirt and makeup that you loosened in the first step. This will keep your skin fresh and perfectly prepared to absorb your skin regime. ”
TIP: If you are using a physical scrub, as a scrub for the face, use it in place of the detergent after removing makeup.
b. Toners, essences and boosters
If you are using toner, apply it as you would in the morning.
At night, some people also like to layer different types of skin care intensifiers that they consider to be mist, essences, beauty tonic or moisturizing serums (hyaluronic acid). These are infused with various active ingredients, but for the most part their purpose is to moisturize and nourish the skin.
Because they are light, almost watery formulas, apply them as a tonic after washing your face. “If you use both, you apply the toner and then the essence,” says Dr. Rogers. “Toner is more about cleaning and the essence is more about applying a treatment.” The same rules apply when using multiple boosters: from the thinnest to the thickest.
b. Eye cream
In addition to treating crow’s feet and dark circles, eye creams can also protect the sensitive eye area from other skin products.
“In general, you want to apply eye cream before treatments to protect the area around the eyes from effective ingredients that can cause irritation,” said Dr. Rogers.
c. Treatments, serums and peels
Like the rest of the body, the skin repairs, restores and regenerates most of its work while we sleep. For this reason, most targeted skin care treatments target prescription drugs (tretinoin creams, acne and rosacea), retinol creams, exfoliating treatments (peeling pads and masks) and anti-aging serums (containing peptides, growth and other biologically active ingredients added). – are best used at night. Instead of applying all of your treatment serums and creams, Dr. Rogers suggests choosing your night treatment based on your skin’s current needs.
“Many steps only increase the risk of irritation and decrease the likelihood of the desired result,” says Dr. Rogers. “Choose your night treatment based on your skin’s needs that night, not what you have in your medicine cabinet. Some nights, all she can do is wash, moisturize and go to bed. There is always tomorrow to give your skin more love. ”
Here are other considerations:
Choose between prescription drugs (for acne or rosacea) or exfoliating (like AHA / BHA pillows, exfoliating or detoxifying masks). “Using both on the same night significantly increases the risk of skin irritation,” warns Dr. Rogers.
Also, do not use retinol creams (over-the-counter or over-the-counter) the same night you rub.
Exfoliating treatments: use sparingly, one to three times a week.
d. Moisturizer or night cream
Some people use the same moisturizer day and night. However, moisturizers or night creams are usually thicker and heavier and can be absorbed over several hours.
“Moisturizers, especially the heavier ones that are used at night, create a protective layer on the skin to prevent water from evaporating while you sleep,” says Dr. Rogers. “Maintaining high levels of water on the skin is the key to healing and maintaining healthy skin. If you are using the right moisturizer, this should be your final step, as nothing will go through it. “If your skin is dry, you can add an oil to your face before applying the night cream.
5. Timing Matters, Too
Regardless of the order of application, some experts consider it important to consider the time that your skin takes to absorb the products. However, as most of us are in a hurry to get somewhere (or go to the bag), Dr. Rogers says that this is not always possible. Your advice? Keep your skin care routine simple.
“Many products say that you have to wait between five and 30 minutes before taking the next step to ensure proper absorption. But who has time for this? If it gets too complicated, it simply won’t, ”says Dr. Rogers. “If you have a lot of steps, take a short break (one minute) so that each product has time to react with the skin. For example, at night, after washing my face and using my serum or night treatment, I just end my day and go to bed. I keep my moisturizer on the nightstand and apply it before bed to give these specialized treatments, typically expensive, more time to penetrate the skin before sealing them with my cream. ”
B. How to Find the Best Skincare Routine, According to a Dermatologist
You want to start a skin care routine, but you have a few questions: How many products do you need to use? Which ones are suitable for your skin? In what order should you use these products? And what do these products really do?
Dr. Ashley Magovern, a certified dermatologist, owner and founder of Manhattan Dermatology, says that three simple steps must be followed to get the maximum benefit from regular skin care: clean, treat and moisturize. You are probably already familiar with cleansing and moisturizing, but what does “treating” your skin mean? According to Dr. Magovern it means using serums or creams full of superheroes for the skin, like vitamin C, retinol, alpha-hydroxy acid and more. “I think it is really important to add an intermediate step between the cleansing and moisturizing components,” says Dr. Magovern. “It can make a big difference over time and in terms of your skin’s health and just in terms of how your skin looks and ages.”
Next, Dr. Create a basic step-by-step skin care routine that you can use as a model for your own treatment regimen. Product recommendations have been tested by GH Beauty Lab, dermatologists’ favorites and best-selling online choices. Of course, each person’s skin is different. Therefore, adjust them according to your age and skin type.
1. Your daycare routine
a. Cleaning
Cleansing is the first step towards a good skin care routine. The type of detergent you use is more important than you think – gentle face washes are the way to go, especially if you plan on using more active ingredients later. “Many people clean a lot, either very often, or with a detergent that is too strong that really destroys the skin barrier,” warns Dr. Magovern.
b. Tone
Toner is an optional step, but if you have a toner that you like, be sure to use it. Dr. Magovern says that toner can be a great way to balance the skin’s pH levels. If you have acne-prone skin, look for a toner with ingredients like salicylic acid to help relieve rashes. If you have dry or sensitive skin, choose a moisturizing tonic for soothing.
c. Vitamin C in serum
When it comes to serums, Dr. Magovern should use a vitamin C serum during the day. “I think everyone should use vitamin C, no matter how old you are, even when you’re 20,” says Dr. Magovern. “It helps to undo many of the damage we have suffered from the sun and pollution.” When using a vitamin C serum, look for a serum that contains a stable form of vitamin C so that the molecule can actually penetrate the skin.
d. Eye cream
Eye creams fall into the “snack” category. Apply eye cream with the ring finger (the weakest finger) so as not to accidentally damage the eye area.
e. Moisturizer
After treating your skin, it’s time to hydrate. The moisturizer keeps the skin hydrated and strengthens the skin barrier. For daytime use, choose a lighter moisturizer that is quickly absorbed and does not smudge under makeup.
f. Sun protection
This is the most important step in your skin care routine. “If you are not using sunscreen, you may well not be doing any of these other steps,” says Dr. Magovern. “The sun is the main reason why people’s skin ages prematurely.” Attention: protecting your skin from the sun is important even when you spend your days indoors, as ultraviolet rays can still enter through windows.
2. Your nighttime skin care routine
You should change your skin care routine at night – and not just because you don’t need a sun protection factor while you sleep! According to Dr. Magovern it is the perfect time to make sure that your skin is receiving as much nutrients and active ingredients as possible while your skin regenerates and repairs itself while you sleep, in your nighttime routine. You will still follow the basic steps – cleaning, treating and moisturizing – but at night the routine seems a little different.
a. Cleaning
Dr. Magovern still recommends using a mild detergent. However, at night you can use a detergent that can remove your makeup, such as B. an oil-based facial soap. If you want to take it a step further, you can even try a “double clean” using a water-based facial wash after an oil cleaner to remove any remaining dirt and oil from the pores.
b. Tone
If you want to use toner, apply it as you would in the morning. This is done before you start using serums and treatments.
c. Serums and treatments
Dr. Magovern is a big fan of using alpha hydroxy acid to lighten the skin by removing dead skin cells. It helps to build collagen and improves shine. If you want to include retinol in your skin care regimen, Dr. Magovern to use it during your evening ritual. Retinol is a form of vitamin A that helps to reduce visible wrinkles, light spots and pore size.
“Anyone can use retinol,” says Magovern. You can start using retinol as early as age 20, but this becomes especially important as you get older. “At 40 and 50, retinol should definitely come into play, if it hasn’t already.”
d. Eye cream
Dr. Magovern likes to encourage his patients to exercise the skin around their eyes to deal with more active ingredients (like retinol) and reap its benefits. “You don’t have to use much, but if you start training your skin to tolerate more active products around your eyes, you will see more changes,” she says. You can apply some serum or treatment around the eye area and then use your favorite eye cream.
e. Treatment of acne blemishes
If you have a pimple that you would like to go away sooner or later, this is a good time to apply acne treatments. Rather than focusing on pimples when they appear, Magovern recommends that you stick to your skin care routine as a preventative measure. “If you just treat the area, you will have acne next door if your skin is clogged. You have rashes because oil builds up on your skin. Therefore, you need to keep your pores clean all over your face.”
f. Moisten
Moisture is very important at night, as it forms a barrier that retains the active ingredients and moisture. That way, when you wake up, your skin will be shiny and fleshy – and ready to start the day.
g. Facial oil
Facial oils are a great way to maintain moisture while you sleep. “Many people think that if they like acne or oily skin, their skin is bursting with oil, but that is not true,” says Magovern. “Many of them can really help to moisturize and soften the skin.” Especially when you use ingredients like retinol and alpha-hydroxy acids, facial oils are a great way to add extra moisture.

10 THINGS I LIKE TO DO IN MY ROUTINE (coz I’m extra..or paranoid)
Tumblr media
1.  Washing my hands every time I touch something that’s not skincare: I cannot stress enough how important it is to keep your hands clean when applying skincare. Our hands are a feeding ground for microbes such as bacteria- especially our nails- and by transferring that onto our face we are only inviting a disaster breakout. It is important to note that over washing your hands can lead to dermatitis and other skin conditions. It is recommended to wash our hands with regular soap and water when necessary. Over-washing with antibacterial soap kills the natural bacteria that stops the foreign icky bacteria from invading- so it is important to know to do everything in moderation.
Tumblr media
2.  Using a spatula to get cream from a tub: In addition to washing my hands, I like to use a spatula to get creams or other products from a tub to keep things sanitary. Though our hands may be clean (after the fifth wash), there is still a very high chance that there are microbes residing in between your cuticles and nails. This place especially has the highest chance of farming microbes. Using a spatula ensures that your tub of product is kept as microbe free as possible. Just remember to wash your spatula before and after every use. I got mine from The Face Shop.
Tumblr media
3.  Letting my skin absorb the products: It is important to remember that our skin is only a muscle designed to protect our insides from the outside world. If we are overwhelming our skin with products without letting our skin adjust to the pH and solubility of the product, then it will get our money nowhere. I like to pat my skin for a good minute or so between each step of my routine- take it nice and slow; there’s no need to rush. We need to work with our skin, not against it!
Tumblr media
4.  Misting my face between certain steps: This step is not necessary but it is good to know that our skin is being kept moist throughout our routine. Moist skin is more likely to accept and absorb products better than dry skin. This step is mostly for when you apply an active ingredient and you have to wait a certain amount of time before you can move on to the next step. Alternatively after cleansing, you could mist your face to prepare it for your toner.
Tumblr media
5.  No-towel method: This step needs a post on its own. I’ll give a brief rundown though. Our towels are like sponges- a breeding ground for bacteria and microbes alike. Our bathrooms are constantly humid with our showers and whatnot, so bacterial growth is ensured within our towels. Now back to point #1, if we use our bacteria towel on our face we are waiting for a breakout to happen. It is important to note that not everyone will be affected by this- much like not everyone gets breakouts- but it is vital to understand that materials that are constantly being touched and used in wet environments can (and probably will) cause acne. The no-towel method states that we should be either letting our face air-dry or that we should be patting our skin dry. We avoid the towel and opt for something more hygienic!
Tumblr media
6.  Applying several layers of hydrating toner: This only applies to alcohol-free toners. Toners generally have a high water content and are thin and light, thus increasing our skin’s absorption rate. Applying several layers of toner can maximise hydration out of your toner and lock in the moisture that you are adding to your skin. This is also known as the seven-skin method, but for everyday I personally do three-skins.
Tumblr media
7.  Using a mask on top of a mask: I like to put a silicone mask on top of my actual sheet mask when sheet masking. The silicone mask is used to prevent the mask essence from evaporating (especially under the AC) and it also allows for the essence to be better absorbed into the skin. It really allows you to make the most of your sheet masks every time and is also a multi-use product (you can just wash it and reuse). I personally got mine from Daiso while I was overseas and it was pretty affordable. I have noticed that when I use the silicone mask on top of my sheet masks, I have a lot more remaining essence left inside the sheet mask compared to if I didn’t use the silicone mask (btw you can use the remaining essence on the rest of your body e.g. neck, arms) Sheet masks are already pretty expensive per use so using the silicone mask allows me to maximise the benefits while sheet masking.
Tumblr media
8.  Using a mist or humidifier: This isn’t really part of the routine, but skin care in general. If we are in dry and cold environments, whether it be man-made or natural, our skin will lose moisture and hydration. There are products that help to combat hydration loss such as humectants. However, water evaporates regardless, therefore leaving our skin dry and possibly dehydrated all over again. An important ingredient to look out for is hyaluronic acid which is known for holding 1000x its own weight in water. It is able to do this by drawing water from the environment and holding it in our skin. However if the environment is dry, it can potentially draw water from our skin, leaving it dry and dehydrated. Because of this, it is important to note our skincare ingredients and how they relate to our environment. Having a humidifier and/or mist can combat this function of hyaluronic acid and other ingredients.
Tumblr media
9.  Rubbing and patting our skincare: I’ve been criticised before for rubbing in my skincare, and while I understand the logic behind pure patting it really doesn’t get the job done. I find that a mixture of rubbing and patting really maximises skin absorption. Rub to apply, pat to absorb. One method doesn’t overpower the other; they’re equal in functionality. However, together the rub-and-pat method can really be a game changer.
Tumblr media
10. Massage/facial exercises: This only recently made its way into my skincare routine but I can definitely feel the results slowly making an appearance. Our skin is a muscle; muscles that are toned look and function better than unused muscles. You can do this step at the very end of your routine with your moisturiser or facial oil and gently massage around the perimeter of your face. There are products such as the Jade Roller that are made for this step, and there are posts online about facial exercises. Even if you feel that the step isn’t doing anything for skin visibly, it’s a relaxing step overall that can help to rewind and destress you for the night.
If I’m going to be honest, this list only touches the surface of extra steps in our skincare routines. Our skin is a vital organ of our body’s anatomy, and we want to make sure that what we are doing to our skin counts. Products can only get so far, however, lifestyle changes are what really count.
I hope this post helped some of you out! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask or DM me. I’m always open to your opinions and comments!

I decided to combine July and August’s Skincare Shake Up post as my skin has been a bit tricky recently and I wanted to make absolutely sure that my skincare wasn’t contributing to that. It’s been flipping warm in the UK, I did some travelling, and I’ve also had a busy and stressful couple of months with work – a perfect storm for reactive skin. So welcome to a bumper Skincare Shake Up post!
Tumblr media
Here’s my standard Skincare Shake Up blurb, just in case you’re new around here: I always split the Skincare Shake Up posts into my evening and morning routines. Sometimes there are products that crossover but typically they will be different. I have a system where I label which products are ‘must haves’ and which are ‘nice to haves’ when building a routine, which products do what, what order to use them in, etc. I use a code: MH for ‘must have’, NTH for ‘nice to have’. The products are listed in the order in which I use them and I’ll try to explain why if there’s a specific reason for that. I try to include as much info on ingredients or extra details as possible (e.g. if it’s vegan, perfume-free, alcohol-free) but please bear in mind that my information isn’t exhaustive and you should still do research to double check this if these things are important to you.
Tumblr media
SKINCARE SHAKE UP: EVENING ROUTINE
First cleanse (MH if you wear heavy make up and/or SPF) – We’ve spoken about The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil at length so let’s not do this again. All you need to know is that it makes light work of make up, doesn’t irritate my eyes or skin, and I love it.
Second cleanse (MH even if you don’t wear make up) – I’d never tried anything from Fresh before, but if all their stuff is as nice as the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser* then I clearly need to do some investigating. It’s a gentle gel that leaves my skin feeling clean but happy. It contains rosewater and cucumber so it’s very soothing, but FYI the cucumber smell is very strong so if you’re not a fan of that scent (I know you weirdos are out there somewhere) then maybe swerve this one. (By the way, this is limited edited packaging – the usual one is much less exciting!)
Facial spritz (NTH, but very calming and cooling for warm nights/warm faces!) – I had never heard of or used anything from Sanoflore but I am very impressed with the Sanoflore Rose Floral Water Revitalising Toner Mist*. Facial mists really divide people, and I can see why for some they are a pointless step in their skincare, but for me they are invaluable. They soothe and cool the skin instantly, something that I’m always looking for. This one is certified organic and has no added fragrance. If you want to use it as a toner just apply it to a cotton pad and sweep aross the skin, but I’ve been using it just as a facial spray and love it.
Exfoliation (exfoliation is a MH if you have dull or dehydrated skin, and chemical exfoliation is a kinder option if you have sensitive skin) – I’m continuing to use the Medik8 Blemish Control Pads* and they are definitely having an impact on my congested nose and chin.
Serum (NTH – I can’t be without serums but if you want to streamline your routine/save money you could skip) – I’m combining the Rohto Hadalabo Gokujyn Hyaluronic Acid Lotion and the Vichy Minéral 89 Hyaluronic Acid Booster Serum* (Boots or Escentual). The former is a watery-essence lotion that I apply before my retinol step below – a great tip to form a buffer on the skin if you’re worried that retinol may irritate your skin. The latter is a new discovery that I’ve wanted to try ever since I heard that Sali Hughes rates it, and if it’s good enough for her…! More than just a hydrating serum (although it does that in spades!) it also works to strengthen the skin barrier, and protects against the effects of pollution. It’s also free from oil, fragrance, silicones, parabens, alcohol and colourants. It’s a delight to use, as you can probably see from the depleted bottle below!
Tumblr media
Retinol (if you’re targeting fine lines and texture it’s a MH) – I think I’ve been using the La Roche Posay Redermic R Intensive cream* (Boots or Escentual) for about 9 months now and I have no reason to stop. It has improved the texture, fine lines, and appearance of my skin immeasurably and I love it.
Moisturiser (MH for most people, even if you’re oily) – As I’m totally in love with the Hyalu B5 serum, I knew I needed to try the La Roche Posay Hyalu B5 Moisturiser* (Boots or Escentual). Like the serum it helps to plump the skin, keep it hydrated, and looking healthier and smoother. If you have dehydrated skin and/or are worried about signs of ageing, then this is a lovely and easy product to slip into your routine.
Tumblr media
Treatment (MH for anyone with sensitive/sunburned/aggravated/dry skin) – I’ve been a fan of the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 (Boots or Escentual) for many years. It’s been the product I slather on when my skin feels tight and dry, although I’ve often mentioned that it’s a little heavy for every day use. So imagine my unbridled joy when I heard that La Roche Posay had released the Cicaplast Gel B5 (Escentual). I’m going to do a blog post with more details but it has all the goodness of the original but in a lighter formula – the dream!
Tumblr media
  SKINCARE SHAKE UP: MORNING ROUTINE
Cleansing (MH to remove dirt, oil, sweat, dead skin) – I’m still using the Klorane Floral Water Make Up Remover* but have switched it to my morning cleanse. It works perfectly to refresh my skin, even during that crazy heatwave!
Tumblr media
Vitamin C (NTH) – I’m still using the La Roche Posay Redermic C10* (Boots or Escentual) and still loving it. If you would like to target signs of ageing (fine lines, loss of firmness, dull skin) but are worried that it will aggravate your skin, this is a great introductory vitamin C product.
Serum (NTH – I can’t be without serums but if you want to streamline your routine/save money you could skip) – Are you bored of hearing about this serum yet? Because I’m not bored of using it! The La Roche Posay HyaluB5 serum* (Boots or Escentual) is light, has immediate and also long-term effects on my skin (smoother, more supple, plumper, more glowy) and I already have my back up bottle ready for when this one bites the dust.
Tumblr media
Moisturiser (MH) – Another product from Sanoflore, the Sanoflore Rosa Angelica Morning Rehydrating Concentrate* is a really lovely lightweight moisturiser that has a fairly strong peach and rose scent (100% natural fragrance apparently). I’m not a huge fan of the smell, but my face felt lovely after using it. As with the facial spray, it’s also certified organic.
SPF (ABSOLUTE MH) – I’ve come crawling back to the La Roche Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light 50+ SPF* (Boots or Escentual) – last month I strayed and although I really enjoyed using the Ultrasun SPF, it just wasn’t as perfect for me as this one. What can I say, it ticks all my boxes!
Mask/treatments (NTH if you have specific issues you would like to target) – I’m still using the Medik8 Ultimate Recovery Cream* for my mask. My skin has been very temperamental this month due to stress and the weather, and this thick cream is aimed at skin that is dry, compromised, or in recovery. I’ve been using it 2-3 times a week and it’s really helped calm down my angry skin.
I think this was a classic Skincare Shake Up edition – lots of old favourites alongside some new and exciting brands and products. Do any of these catch your eye? What skincare are you loving right now? Let me know in the comments!

African American Skin Care Regimen
New Post has been published on https://skin-care-routine.com/african-american-skin-care-regimen/african-american-skin-care-regimen/
African American Skin Care Regimen
A. How To Care For African American Skin
1. African American Skin Care
You want to show your best face. African-American skin must be properly cared for to look its best.
Common problems among African Americans are hyperpigmentation (dark spots) caused by acne scars or other skin lesions and gray or gray skin caused by improper exfoliation. Although African Americans have the benefit of natural protection from the sun (we have all heard the phrase “black will not crack”), that does not mean that taking care of black skin should be taken for granted.
Our products for the African American face are of the absolute best quality at a very reasonable price. Since your skin has special needs, HumiNature offers several products for skin types with “normal” to special needs.
We have also developed recommended “regimes”, which are product packages that work well together. Each regimen is based on totally natural toners, without soap, alcohol and balancing moisturizers, non-greasy and non-comedogenic. If you have dry skin, you may be tempted to skip the toner step, as many toners are dry and hard. It is not ours.
2. Best facial cleanser for black skin
a. HumiNature anti-aging face cleanser
DMAE is an incredible nutrient that prolongs the life of cells and inhibits the cross-linking of proteins, giving the skin a toned and toned appearance. Our age-defying facial cleanser, HumiNature is a natural facial cleanser with DMAE. Our detergent is ideal for those who deal with the effects of aging.
b. HumiNature Oil Defense facial cleanser (anti-acne)
Acne-prone skin is sensitive skin. Many “anti-acne” treatments are so severe that they worsen the condition they are trying to eliminate. Above all, the HumiNature oil defense cleaner is natural and smooth. Contains activated charcoal, tea tree oil and citrus extracts to help naturally control the onset of acne.
c. HumiNature Skin Solace Cleaning Product
Our natural cleansing product HumiNature Skin Solace is a gentle and delicate facial cleanser, suitable for people with sensitive skin or who just want to treat their face with a deep and natural cleansing, without the use of aggressive chemicals. With this cleanser, your face will be smooth, clean and full of energy. Honey is a humectant (attracts water). And honey acids gently promote skin renewal (removal of dead skin). Honey is a milder way to obtain benefits similar to alpha hydroxy acids. Therefore, it is ideal for people with sensitive skin. Wild oats help the skin to retain moisture and keep it soft. Ideal for dry or sensitive skin.
3. Best toner for black skin
a. HumiNature cucumber mist toner
Our Natural Facial Toner HumiNature Cucumber Mist is a natural and moisturizing facial tonic that is mixed with pure cucumber hydrosol (essence). Cucumber has natural anti-inflammatory properties. The juice of the Aloe leaf softens. Witch hazel tones. And tea tree oil and black willow bark kill germs. This toner is perfect for anyone with a face.
b. HumiNature anti-aging toner with DMAE
Our HumiNature Firming Skin Toner with DMAE is our highest quality toner. DMAE is a natural nutrient that prolongs the life of cells and gives the skin a firm tone and appearance. DMAE slightly tightens the skin temporarily, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
c. HumiNature oil defense astringent
Our HumiNature Oil Defense astringent is naturally astringent, balances the skin and fights acne. Alpha-hydroxy acids gently exfoliate, while fruit acids even out your skin tone. Black Willowbark provides natural salicylic acid to help fight the causes of acne. Our astringent does the job without peeling and causing skin dryness. DMAE gives your skin a toned and polished appearance while essential oils go to the root of acne.
4. Best moisturizers for black skin
a. HumiNature AvoJoba facial moisturizer
HumiNature AvoJoba Facial Moisturizing Cream is perfect for dry to combination skin types. Our cream is made with the best natural jojoba and restores the skin’s balance. Technically, jojoba is not an oil, but a wax. Since jojoba is the closest to the body’s natural sebum in nature, it removes excess oil from oily skin and provides additional oil to dry skin. In this way, jojoba can restore the ideal oil balance for the skin, which is very dry or oily. Avocado oil is known as an anti-aging oil.
b. East African Shea Butter HumiNature
The East African Shea Butter HumiNature is the crème de la crème of the Shea Butter. East African shea butter is softer and more fragrant than West African shea butter as it is manually extracted from the highest quality shea nuts of the Nilotica variety. East African shea butter is naturally rich in sheabolein and melts more smoothly on the skin.
c. HumiNature anti-oxidant anti-aging cream
HumiNature Anti-Aging AntiOxidant Crème is a super premium anti-aging cream that is loaded with anti-aging agents. You will not find a better anti-aging cream at any cost. Natural moisturizers and vitamins rejuvenate the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Avocado oil is known as a warrior of nature and this cream is full of it. The cream also contains vitamins A, B, C and E to combat the effects of aging.
d. HumiNature Shea Butter Facial Cream
HumiNature shea butter face cream perfect for all skin types. Our premium shea butter cream is thick and filled with shea butter, jojoba oil, vitamins and other nutrients that your skin will simply drink.
5. Best skin rejuvenators for black skin
The normal daily regimen is important for maintaining good skin. But for that extra boost that we all need, especially as we get older, we offer these stimuli to your face.
a. HumiNature Deep C Mask
HumiNature Deep C Masque is an attractive and effective facial mask. Montmorillonite (French green clay), vitamin C ester and seaweed extract make this mask an incredibly exuberant and smooth clay mask. Vitamin C esters are easily absorbed by the skin. We use them in concentrations high enough to be effective. However, we keep the level low enough that the mask does not prick your skin.
b. HumiNature papaya and clay shell
HumiNature Papaya & Clay Skin Peel is a soft skin peel with fruit extracts and kaolin clay. The skin is radiant and invigorated. Eliminates ashes. Peels are becoming more and more popular among the baby boom generation. This is a safe and effective way to recover or maintain that youthful glow.
c. HumiNature Rhassoul Clay
HumiNature Rhassoul Clay is an excellent mask for the face and body and an excellent deep cleanser for the hair. Used in the best spas.
d. HumiNature Skin Polish Crème (microdermabrasion cream)
HumiNature Skin Polish Crème (Microdermabrasion Cream) is a natural way to eliminate the harmful effects of aging, brighten your skin, remove fine lines and hyperpigmentation – all in the comfort of your home and for a fraction of what you would do for spa treatments. or doctor’s office.
6. Best skin care systems for black skin
Our schemes are based on a 4-step system. The fourth step is optional.
Step 1: cleaning – morning and night
Step 2: clay in the morning and at night
Step 3: moisturize morning and evening
Step 4: rejuvenate, treat or restore – at night or occasionally, as needed.
a. Ajuvén Face Rescue Kit
The Ajuvén facial rescue kit is especially suitable for men’s skin care. Gentle but effective products for men.
Stage 1: botanical facial scrub in Ajuvén
Step 2: Ajuvén Citrus Splash facial toner
Stage 3: Ajuvén Facial Botanical Moisturizer
Step 4: Ajuvén Sandalwood Shave Créme or Ajuvén Aloe Shave Gel. Any of the HumiNature masks
b. Sensitive skin care regime with HumiNature
The HumiNature Sensitive Skin Care Regimen is smooth and effective at the same time. The HumiNature Sensitive Skin Care Regime contains hypoallergenic products that are gentle and do not cause irritation to sensitive skin. No additional color or fragrance is used in these products. Sensitive skin should never use soap-based cleansers or aggressive toners found in many over-the-counter products.
Step 1: HumiNature Solace Skin Cleaner with wild oats and honey
Step 2: HumiNature Cucumber Mist facial toner
Step 3: HumiNature AvoJoba Crème
Step 4: HumiNature Face Firming Serum and / or Skin Solace Masque
c. Acne-prone skin care HumiNature / Oil defense skin care
Effective and natural cleansing soaps without soap with specially selected anti-acne essential oils, an anti-acne tonic and a non-comedogenic mask make up our HumiNature Oil Defense skin care system. Many anti-acne products cause excessive dehydration and skin irritation, which can worsen the appearance of acne and leave the skin irritated, dry and scaly. Our regime fights acne without damaging your skin. We include a clay mask that is used once or three times a week for deep cleaning to prevent the formation of blackheads and pimples. Since our cleansers and toners don’t dry out, you will probably find that you don’t need a moisturizer every day.
Step 1: HumiNature oil defense cleaner
Step 2: HumiNature oil defense toner
Step 3: not necessary for oily skin types
Step 4: HumiNature Deep C Mask
  B. Black skin care: The top 5 tips
We offer products that we believe are useful to our readers. If you buy from links on this page, we can earn a small commission. Here is our process. Each skin is different and can benefit from a tailored care routine. Black skin contains more melanin than lighter skin. Melanin-producing cells may be more prone to inflammation and damage, which may be more pronounced on dark skin than on light skin.
According to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), different skin care routines benefit from different skin colors. This is due to differences in the structure and function of the skin.
Some conditions that people with black skin may experience include:
Acne, which includes pimples, whiteheads and blackheads
Changes in pigmentation that lead to discoloration
Contact dermatitis or inflammation that occurs from contact with an irritant or allergen
Eczema, an itchy skin disease, dry and cracked skin
Seborrheic dermatitis, which occurs as scaly patches on the scalp and face
In this article, we’ll cover five important tips for caring for black skin.
1. Clean and moisten daily
To keep your skin shiny and supple, it is best to clean and moisturize it daily, preferably right after your shower. Use a mild detergent that does not clog your pores. It may be worth looking for someone who says “non-comedogenic”. Massage the cleanser into the skin with clean fingertips, then rinse with warm (not hot) water and dry the skin with a clean towel.
Some research suggests that black skin loses moisture more quickly than some lighter skin tones. To avoid this and to prevent the skin from looking pale, apply a moisturizer that contains humectants such as glycerin or hyaluronic acid daily. Humectants retain moisture in the skin. People can buy moisturizers with glycerin or hyaluronic acid online.
A highly effective moisturizer is petroleum jelly. However, people should be careful when applying thick products like this on the face, as they can cause acne. Before using, make sure that they are not comedogenic. Avoid using perfumed moisturizers, as they can irritate the skin of some people. Moisturizers that contain creams or ointments are preferable to lotions. Do not use loofah or any other similar type of exfoliator on the skin. Also, avoid abrasives.
2. Always use sunscreen
One of the biggest myths about black skin is that it doesn’t hurt and that black people don’t need to use sunscreen. This is not true and everyone should wear adequate sunscreen. Although black-skinned people are less likely to develop skin cancer from exposure to the sun, they are more likely to die from the disease as it develops. This may be because it is more difficult to perceive and diagnose. Exposure to the sun can also cause the development of dark spots on black skin, as is typical of melasma. It can also darken existing stains.
The AAD recommends the use of a waterproof sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 that protects against ultraviolet (UV) A and UVB rays. This is known as broadband protection. People should apply sunscreen to all areas of exposed skin all year round, including on cloudy days, in the shade and in winter. Many regular moisturizers contain SPF, including facial moisturizers. Sun protection is especially important on the face, as it is usually the only part of the skin exposed to the sun throughout the year. Facial creams with sun protection factor are available in pharmacies, drugstores and online. People can also wear special clothing for extra sun protection. A variety of UV protective clothing is available online.
3. Consider treatments for hyperpigmentation
Hyperpigmentation or discolored areas of the skin can affect people with any skin tone. Although sunscreens can prevent the development of new hyperpigmentation spots, they do not remove existing dark spots. That is, it can prevent existing dark spots from becoming darker.
To reduce the appearance of existing dark spots, people can use a special product. They usually include ingredients such as:
Retinoids: Several over-the-counter products, such as tretinoin, can be useful. Hydroquinone: products containing hydroquinone interrupt the production of excess melanin, which leads to dark spots.
Kojic Acid: This is another skin lightener that can reduce dark spots, but may be less effective.
Vitamin C: Some research suggests that vitamin C, an antioxidant that can reduce hyperpigmentation, protects against sun damage and increases collagen levels. However, vitamin C has little ability to penetrate the skin, so further research on its effectiveness is needed for these purposes.
People should use these products – especially hydroquinone and kojic acid – with caution, as overuse can irritate the skin. It is important not to use hydroquinone for long periods of time. Take a break after 3 months of continuous use. Hydroquinone can darken the skin after prolonged use. This is part of a condition called exogenous ochronosis. Dermatologists can recommend a combined product that combines several products into one that people can use on their skin.
4. Treat acne early
Early acne treatment can prevent the condition from getting worse. It can also prevent the formation of dark spots on the skin, which is part of a condition known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. These spots are not scars. Establishing a gentle daily regimen for the skin can help prevent acne, as well as the use of non-comedogenic and oil-free products. People should also avoid irritants, such as scented laundry detergents and highly perfumed skin products. It is important for a person to consult a dermatologist to learn more about the products suitable for their specific type of acne.
5. Eat a balanced diet
Good skin care starts from the inside. To give your skin the nutrients it needs to shape and repair, you must have a healthy diet, rich in:
Fruits and vegetables
Whole grain
Lean sources of protein like fish, eggs, vegetables and tofu
Healthy fats, including nuts, avocado and olive oil
Avoiding processed and sugar-filled foods and limiting alcohol consumption can also help improve skin health. Alcohol can make certain skin conditions worse, such as psoriasis. People with skin conditions like acne or eczema should see a dermatologist to see if there are foods that can make symptoms worse.
6. Summary
Establishing a good skin care regimen can help keep black skin shiny, supple and clear. In addition to following a smooth daily routine and healthy eating, people with black skin should avoid using products that contain fragrances and aggressive chemicals. Specific skin problems, such as acne and dark spots, benefit from rapid treatment and preventive techniques. To prevent the formation and deterioration of dark spots and more serious health problems, such as skin cancer, experts recommend using sunscreens with SPF 30 or more every day.

Currently researching DECIEM products because I really want to add them to my routine. But this is what I got thus far. The site is just SO confusing, with all the fancy names and ingredients.
NIOD is also a money pit, so once you dive into one product, I am sure you get the urge to get the whole lot. It is very much an investment, and will take me a long time to save for a bulk order (since they sell sets), or one at a time, while crying that I want the rest.
Hylamide;
SubQ Eyes; I have some serious dark eye circles, so I am always willing to try something to minimize this, and this looks interesting. I am slightly more interested in the NIOD version, but because of the pricing, would try this one first, unless I am feeling funds ballsy and jump into the other one first.
NIOD;
Copper Amino Isolate Serum; From reviews, this is supposed to be one of the best selling products from this line and concentrates on your overall skin's health. I confused it for the harmful copper, but this is supposed to be different, so after some research, I am more excited to try it.
Multi Molecular Hyaluronic Complex; I am assuming this contains the same ingredients as the Marine Hyaluronic and Hyaluronic Complex with B5 from my Google research, just into one bottle. May be worth purchasing this to bulk them together, instead of individual bottles. Seems to offer more benefit, even with the price tag, seems more cost effective in the long run. Since I seem to do fine with the MH, I will be replacing it with this, when I am done with the bottle. I can’t wait!
Modulating Glucosides; I have issues with sensitivity, irritation and itchiness, so this product seems interesting to help with those issues.
Flavanone Mud & Myrrh Clay & Mastic Must & Voicemail Masque; Fancy masks are fancy.
Lip Bio-Lipid Concentrate; Looks like some serious lip oil treatment, and I do have some majorly chapped lips, despite my heavy water drinking. It may be because I am on diuretics.
Low-Viscosity Cleaning Ester and Sanskrit Saponins; Having released there own version of the double cleanse, I may give this a try - only if I have extra funds, and I am not enjoying my current routine.
Ethylated L-Ascorbic Acid 30% Network; I am still confused about Vitamin C, and wonder if this is quite different, can use at same time, better, or worse then what I am using now, which is the COSRX Typle C Lightning Liquid.
Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate; May be an upgrade from the SubQ Eyes, and honestly, for the price, it better raise Jebus. If the other doesn't work, I may be desperate enough to attempt this one for my dark circles.
Non-Acid Acid Precursor 15%; Supposed to be an alternative to peeling without using acid. I am still up in the air about trying this one out, because I am afraid of trying the more serious peels.
Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist; Looks like a good, antibacterial, inflammation, hydrating mist. I was thinking of removing mists from my routine, since I can’t mist throughout the day because of sunscreen, but this actually looks like it would be more beneficial in conjunction with all the other products, even if used once during your regular routine.
Re: Pigment; This has mixed reviews and is quite pricey, but I heard good things about this particular line and would be willing to give it a shot, as I suffer from a lot of hyperpigmentation.
Chemistry Brand;
Hand Chemistry, Extreme Hydration Concentrate, Heel Chemistry, Hyaluronic Concentrate, HA3 Hand Hydrator, Retin-Oil;
The hydrating hand and body oils seem to be the only interest for me in this line. I suffer from severe dry hands during the winter that can lead to Dyshidrosis, if I don't treat it properly. I often break out two times a year in the winter with this. Otherwise, I never had any issues with body/hand dryness. So I may opt for these products during the winter. I do suffer from hyperpigmentation from acne scarring on my back, and other parts of the body from scarring (I did a lot of rescue work for cats). I feel the Retin-Oil may help with this - but honestly, I am a big tattoo buff, so everything for me will eventually be covered by tats, so I never really invested in body care in terms of visual appeal. I just use regular ole black african soap lotion, and or Gold Bond for Excema, worked just fine to help with any pain for dryness.
As for their “reduce hair” line - I would never be interested in that (face, leg, arm pits). I was born with lucky genes I guess - which is quite odd, because all of my female Filipino relatives had insane body hair. But me... never had that much hair growth in the first place. Then I was placed on Spironolactone, and that almost obliterated the little growth I did have. I am talking about, I can go six months without shaving my legs, and it looks like I haven’t shaved in two days - very minor hair growth!
Fountain; I honestly don't take supplements, I only recently decided to do a multi-vitamin and take zinc for my acne. I also do Kachava shakes, and that has a lot of good protein.
AB Crew; This honestly just overall confused me and I don't think I would use any of these products. Though the AB Carving Gel and Shredding Oil look interesting if you wanna strut your stuff along the water. I do have issues with cellulite and stretch marks, but I feel their aren't any topical products that could ever correct this issue, you would have to get it surgically done. Many products claim to rid these, but it is just not possible without a professional. I am sure with long term use, you can diminish it - as I tried to do once with coconut oil when it was all the rage - but I never saw much difference, even after a few years - I used pure virgin coconut oil as well.
