The Darkest Crime Part 2

The Murder of Skylar Neese

The crime starts off with three high school students by the names of Skylar Neese, Shelia Eddy, and Rachel. They were best friends.

All three of them were thriving and happy teens. Neese and Eddy have been best friends since they were eight. While they had only been friends with Shoaf since the beginning of freshman year. The days leading up to Neese's death were seemingly normal.

The event began on July 6, 2012, when Neese's parent found her missing. Her parents had come to this conclusion after noticing that she had no slept in her bed and she missed work.

That same day, Eddy told her parents that " her, Skylar, and Rachel had snuck out the night before and that they had driven around Star City, were getting high, and that the two girls had dropped her back off at the house,” and that “the story was they had dropped her off at the end of the road because she didn’t want to wake us up sneaking back in.”

The Neese's Survaliance cameras had proved that she did sneak out around 12 but nothing about when she came home.

The whole town got involved with television broadcasting, radio, internet coverage, and manhunts. No one had any luck finding her. The investigators had suspected an overdose in which someone had just disposed of the body.

The investigator grew very suspicious of Eddy and Shoalf. They had a very cold demeanor. Their stories were identical with no slip-ups. Phone calls with pair had proved that they were lying.

Six Months following the disappearance of Skylar Neese, Shoalf told the police that she and Eddy had killed her. This occurred after Shoalf having a mental breakdown and was admitted to a psychiatric hospital. She then led them to where they buried Nesses' body.

With the discovery of Skylar Neese’s body and that the blood found on Eddy’s car was Skylar Neese’s, police had enough evidence to arrest Eddy and Shoaf.

“We asked Rachel, ‘Why did you guys kill Skylar?’ And her only answer to that was, ‘We just didn’t like her,’” State Police Corp. Ronnie Gaskin said.
