Amaranthine Magic System PART II: Spellcraft for Wizards
This is Part III of a three-part worldbuilding set.
Part I - Part II (you are here) - Part III
So, what makes a wizard different than a non-magically capable mundane? A few things:
Unusually strong personal magical field
Ability to sense/”see” magical energy
Some unknown characteristic that allows them to manipulate their own magical field as if it were an extension of their body. Possibly a physical difference in brain structure?
The last part is the most important and is truly what sets a wizard apart from every other creature on the planet. Though, of course, without the first two traits, it’s going to be of limited use.
As mentioned in Part I, wizards cast their spells by applying a mental “filter” their own magical output. This is referred to as active casting. Passive casting, which will be covered in Part III, is typically the realm of animals and plants. Being able to filter something mentally is an extremely unique skill only possible by sapient creatures (probably) due to the complexity involved. However, wizards do typically use hand gestures in casting as well. Hand gestures provide an additional optional channel on which you can “filter” your spell. Because it’s easier to do hand gestures than to teach yourself these complex mental filters, it’s common for amateur wizards to use many more hand gestures when casting, while very advanced wizards use fewer of them because they are capable of juggling a larger number of simultaneous “filters” mentally. Additionally, hand and arm gestures are commonly used like the barrel of a rifle, to control and direct the magical energy being shaped by the mind.
Learning how to control magic like this takes many years of study and practice. You must really understand the “physics” of how the waves work and how each puppeteer string will affect the shape of the waves when pulled. On top of that, you need a good understanding of the object you’re interacting with. Magic will move differently through water, air, or stone. If you are trying to create a spell that will create a net of energy that will catch fish in a river, you need to be very familiar with the physics of how magic will interact with water and flesh, as well as have an approximate awareness of how deep the water is, whether the bottom is rocky/uneven or not, how fast moving the current is, etc. Gathering that info will require several steps of study and reconnaissance before you ever get to the “make a net and catch some fish” part.
Healing magic is very tricky for this reason. Flesh can be knit together, but because the blood vessels and nerves and such are so small, and so many different types of material are present in, say, a cross-section of an arm, successfully re-attaching a limb would be something only an expert who has dedicated their life to studying anatomy would be able to pull off. You know those radioactive tracers doctors use before imaging tests? That sort of thing gets a lot of use in healing magic. Healers can train themselves to recognize the tracer (well, a magical energy equivalent) and follow that through a body, then target their spell on the location where the tracer ended up. Much easier and more reliable than trying to guess exactly where someone’s alveoli are from outside their body.
Spellcraft has two primary “branches”. The First Branch is a school of magic based on unleashing your own magical potential in a very basic, direct way. Its rawest form would manifest as something like a lightning bolt: an erratic, jagged bolt of pure, difficult-to-control energy. Pretty much all “attack” type spells are variations on this, as well as any spells that involve pushing/pulling/moving things. This branch of magic is seen as much easier and, ironically more beginner friendly. Though it does have the capacity to cause grievous injury, the concentration and mental effort involved mean it’s very hard mix up a “pull” spell and a “fireball” spell. Western Kingdom schools almost exclusively teach this branch.
The Second Branch deals more with manipulating the world’s “background radiation”. (if First Branch magic can be visualized as a line, Second Branch magic is more of a plane or 3D sphere) The wizard alters and exaggerates the shape of their own magical aura to exert pressure on the “background radiation” around them to produce type spells that are more like buffs/debuffs in a video game. Some examples would include a spell that makes everyone in the area feel weirdly invigorated or sleepy, or slows down/speeds up time in a small area, or makes a room with your dead mom in it really, really cold (cough, cough). These spells tend to be more subtle and frankly kind of weird… it’s a very versatile branch of magic with some interesting potential implications. However, it tends to be the harder type of magic to learn by far and requires a very steady hand and calm mind to maintain.
Though they use First Branch magic as well, it’s worth noting that Second Branch magic is very common in the Eastern Kingdom, where it has been well-studied for thousands of years. Their extensive library of research is kept by the Eastern Kingdom Sultan in his private library. Westerners tend to view the Second Branch as shady and manipulative… who knows what a Second Branch wizard could be doing to you without you knowing? The only Second Branch magic to be commonly used in the West is healing magic.
However, as mentioned before, one important thing about the magic system in Amaranthine is that wizards are not psychic. They don’t have x-ray vision and do not innately know how every object or life form they encounter works, and a lot of specialized magic involves knowing the inner workings of things and being able to picture things clearly in your head. A wizard cannot use telekinesis to pick up an object they don’t know the location or shape of (if they tried, it would likely either not have any effect, or they’d break it/damage it/knock it over by targeting it incorrectly, depending on how “off” they were). Nor could they use magic to pick a lock if they didn’t already know how locks worked well enough to visualize the inside of it.
For this reason, wizards tend to be pretty well-read in general, as you have to know a lot about the mechanics and structure of the world around you in order to make the best use of your powers. Hyden specifically has a lot of esoteric nerdy technical knowledge about how things are put together but also huge blind spots when it comes to how the world works in practice. For example, he may know a lot about the anatomy of a corn plant because he had to study them one time when the Royal Mages tasked him with purifying a village’s corn field of crop blight, but still be unable to identify a carrot or yam. He may be able to draw a detailed diagram of the wheels and axle of a carriage because he helped assemble a fleet of them once upon a time, but not have any idea why those parts go together or what they specifically do.

➷ CUPID SOCIETY PT.2 ( 엔시티 위시 )

summary . . . nct wish maknae line as cupids in training!!
genre fluff , cupid au , headcanons , nct wish maknae line x reader cw ryo is a menace™️ as usual , food mention , cheek kiss in saku's , not proofread wc 946 request no note so apparently my brain got to work faster than i expected hehe so here's the maknae line ones!! hyung line version here net @kstrucknet @chrimatanet
KIM DAEYOUNG ミ 김대영
there aren’t many cupids on campus that use their magic through music
although a long-lasting form of love spells were through song, there’s barely a single cupid who knows how to perform the type of magic
daeyoung is one of the few still fascinated by the form
through the rich notes of a song or the gentle tone of notes on a piano
when done just right, one’s magic could flow through the music
and love could blossom forth right from the song
while other students focused on the accuracy of their arrows, brewing new potions, or cooking their magic into new recipes, daeyoung is cooped up in the music room
there’s only one piano left in the school
one that had been around and preserved for generations
whenever the boy plays it, he can feel the lingering magic of many cupids before him
the ability to charm anyone who heard his song
the satisfaction it brings to hear such beautiful melodies produced through the keys and his magic flowing in harmony
it captures daeyoung’s very soul
the music room soon became his
all the teachers know he is the only student who ever plays the piano
the only one who ever spends time in the old room
while the campus is teeming with young rambunctious cupids, there’s one quiet boy who keeps to himself and his music
but one day as he’s on his way to the piano after lunch, his usual routine, he hears the melody of a song from the end of the hallway
curious, daeyoung creeps closer
he’d never met another cupid who played an instrument
but as he peers through the window of the room, he sees you seated at the piano, picking out a simple melody
and there he stays, listening to you play
a smile growing on his face and his heart starting to pound unknowingly
maybe song magic wasn’t as forgotten as daeyoung had thought
and maybe he was starting to feel the effects of such magic on himself
HIROSE RYO ミ 廣瀬遼
ryo has a reputation at the cupid society
he’s the master trickster, the ultimate jokester, the unrivaled menace on campus
and you? you’re his famed sidekick
best friends, inseparable, and equally as known for getting into trouble
there’s nothing ryo loves more than to see the teachers get headaches from all his shenanigans
and the best part?
you and him always seem to get away with it
with your quick wits and unlimited connections through students, you have your ways of gaining endless entertainment
with all the cupid magic around, it’s a given that the young students around will want to explore their abilities
and after seeing some of the more experienced cupids make people fall in love with them at will, you decide you also want to try
ryo gets in on it as well and it becomes a friendly competition with a bet on the line
who can make someone fall in love with them with their cupid magic first?
although the idea is simple, the process proves difficult for ryo
especially with his beginner cupid magic, still in his second year of training
his spells go wrong, his potions blow up in his face, and his arrows all seem to miss
but he’s not one to give up yet
the entire school has heard about the bet by now
with everyone on their guard it becomes even harder to find someone to make fall in love with him
each student he approaches just dismisses him
and the amount of protective charms against love cast around him is off the charts high
maybe he just needs someone who doesn’t expect it
so ryo decides that he’ll make you fall in love with him
and it seems like his plan was genius
you, totally unsuspecting, fall right into ryo’s love magic
the boy wins the bet and the secrets to love all in one day
FUJINAGA SAKUYA ミ 藤永咲哉
within the first week of his attendance this boy somehow manages to get multiple love bites snuck into his food
the effects of them upon consumption were immediate
except usually when one eats a love candy, their feelings manifest for a single person
the problem sakuya has is he has no idea who he is in love with
he ate too many at once
the symptoms are there: the racing heart, the flushed cheeks, the stammering, the butterflies
he feels like he’s in love but the feelings aren’t associated with anyone at all
you, being sakuya’s close friend, have no choice but to search for a solution to his problem along with ryo
with a little research from the library, you diagnose sakuya to be lovesick
overdosed on love candies and now the symptoms are overwhelming, refusing to go away
and while it was a funny turn of events at first, it gets tiring fast
especially to saku who would do anything to get his heart to stop racing all the time :(
you and ryo decide to try possible cures
from solitary confinement to trying to get sakuya to actually fall in love, nothing seemed to work
until one day when you had a brilliant idea taken straight from all the classic old fairy tales
a kiss
ryo, of course refusing to kiss his best friend, throws the task to you while sakuya sits there flustered the entire time
you muster yourself to press a kiss to his cheek
you didn’t expect it to work, and neither did ryo or sakuya
but the indicators of his condition seem to slowly fade away
not completely, but at least to a manageable amount
the new problem is, now sakuya can’t stop thinking about the kiss

Ifá - Wikipedia
MYR. ALEV΂I
Quasi-religions are non-religious movements which have unintended similarities to religions, such as political movements. According to Ifá teaching, the divinatory system is overseen by an orisha spirit, Orunmila, who is believed to have given it to humanity. Ifá is organised as an initiatory tradition, with an initiate called a babaláwo or bokɔnɔ. Quasi Protomartyr Anglican Theology for Mirror for/of Princes Chieftain Church; each book is a humanoid book turned Deity with Pendant, Mars as a Air Sign and Jupiter-sol Mars-Saturn as Beginner Planets; Quasi Invocation: Chief of Ethnic Group, Stars Exaltation Realignment through Mars, Military Expedition, Sabaoth Summing through Sun Monotheism in exchange for Ancestry; Kgosi Quasi Goetia: Kgosi Solaí Planet Monotheism, Mars Jupiter Sol all Humanoid Shadows, Mirror for Princes Spirits, Psychiatric Disorder Crowns, Anthropology and Philosopher Crista, Political Behavior of Status, Galaxy with Jupiter Sol-Saturn Equivalent Planet. Jehovah Sabaoth is one of God’s names in the Bible. It occurs more than 270 times in the Old Testament. It combines God’s personal name, Jehovah (Yahweh), with the Hebrew word, sabaoth, meaning “host” or “multitude.” So Jehovah Sabaoth means “The Lord of Hosts.” The important thing about this name for God is that whether it is armies, angels, or stars, Jehovah Sabaoth, the Lord of Hosts, rules over all things both on earth and in heaven.

First book Myr. Senghor and Ethnic Group Fon Tswana Congo
Birth of Obasian Virgos: Mars-Saturn Jupiter-Solaí
Croix du Zavié (Most High’s Cross) 4 Fleur-de-lis with Double Bar
a covenant, agreement, pact
The term "testament," as applied to the two parts of the Bible, means: a covenant, agreement, pact. In the language of the Bible it denotes the agreement or pact between God and man: Man agreed to do certain things and God, in return, promised certain blessings.
This "ravenous bird" is a symbol of those nations whom God employs and sends forth to do a work of destruction, sweeping away whatever is decaying and putrescent ( Matthew 24:28 ; Isaiah 46:11 ; Ezekiel 39:4 ; Deuteronomy 28:49 ; Jeremiah 4:13 ; 48:40 ). It is said that the eagle sheds his feathers in the beginning of spring, and with fresh plumage assumes the appearance of youth. To this, allusion is made in Psalms 103:5 and Isaiah 40:31 . God's care over his people is likened to that of the eagle in training its young to fly ( Exodus 19:4 ; Deuteronomy 32:11 Deuteronomy 32:12 ). Throughout the Bible, the eagle is a sign of vengeance in the scriptures. In Revelations, however, the eagle represents the forerunner of the judgment that is coming and that they still have time to repent their sins.
Fon was a highly militaristic language constantly organised for warfare; it captured captives during wars and raids against neighboring societies. Tactics such as covering fire, frontal attacks and flanking movements were used in the warfare of Fon. The military of Fon was divided into two units: the right and the left. The right was controlled by the migan and the left was controlled by the mehu.
There is an effort to create a machine translator for Fon (to and from French), by Bonaventure Dossou (from Benin) and Chris Emezue (from Nigeria).[14] Their project is called FFR.[15] It uses phrases from Jehovah's Witnesses sermons as well as other biblical phrases as the research corpus to train a Natural Language Processing (NLP) neural net model.[16] Suppressive Forts Defense and Partisan Raid for Sabotage Offense.
Harmony and Contrast Guerilla Warfare (Partisan Raids for Sabotage): Raiding, also known as depredation, is a military tactic or operational warfare "smash and grab" mission which has a specific purpose. Raiders do not capture and hold a location, but quickly retreat to a previous defended position before enemy forces can respond in a coordinated manner or formulate a counter-attack. Raiders must travel swiftly and are generally too lightly equipped and supported to be able to hold ground. A raiding group may consist of combatants specially trained in this tactic, such as commandos, or as a special mission assigned to any regular troops.[1] Raids are often a standard tactic in irregular warfare, employed by warriors, guerrilla fighters or other irregular military forces. A partisan is a member of a domestic irregular military force formed to oppose control of an area by a foreign power or by an army of occupation by some kind of insurgent activity. Sabotage is a deliberate action aimed at weakening a polity, government, effort, or organization through subversion, obstruction, demoralization, destabilization, division, disruption, or destruction. One who engages in sabotage is a saboteur. Saboteurs typically try to conceal their identities because of the consequences of their actions and to avoid invoking legal and organizational requirements for addressing sabotage.
Harmony and Contrast Siege Warfare (Suppressive Forts): A siege (Latin: sedere, lit. 'to sit')[1] is a military blockade of a city, or fortress, with the intent of conquering by attrition, or by well-prepared assault. Siege warfare (also called siegecrafts or poliorcetics) is a form of constant, low-intensity conflict characterized by one party holding a strong, static, defensive position. Consequently, an opportunity for negotiation between combatants is common, as proximity and fluctuating advantage can encourage diplomacy. A fortification (also called a fort, fortress, fastness, or stronghold) is a military construction designed for the defense of territories in warfare, and is used to establish rule in a region during peacetime. The term is derived from Latin fortis ("strong") and facere ("to make").[1] In military science, suppressive fire is "fire that degrades the performance of an enemy force below the level needed to fulfill its mission"[clarification needed]. When used to protect exposed friendly troops advancing on the battlefield, it is commonly called covering fire. Suppression is usually only effective for the duration of the fire.[1] It is one of three types of fire support, which is defined by NATO as "the application of fire, coordinated with the maneuver of forces, to destroy, neutralise or suppress the enemy".
In the Hebrew Bible, the destroying angel (Hebrew: מַלְאָך הַמַשְׁחִית, malʾāḵ hamašḥīṯ), also known as mashḥit (מַשְׁחִית mašḥīṯ, 'destroyer'; plural: מַשְׁחִיתִים, mašḥīṯīm, 'spoilers, ravagers'), is an entity sent out by God on several occasions to deal with numerous peoples.
These angels (mal’āḵīm) are also variously referred to as memitim (מְמִיתִים, 'executioners, slayers'), or, when used singularly, as the Angel of the Lord. The latter is found in Job 33:22, as well as in Proverbs 16:14 in the plural "messengers of death". Mashchith was also used as an alternate name for one of the seven compartments of Gehenna.[2][3]
In 2 Samuel 24:15-16, the destroying angel almost destroyed Jerusalem but was recalled by God. In 1 Chronicles 21:15, the same "Angel of the Lord" is seen by David to stand "between the earth and the heaven, with a drawn sword in his hand stretched out against the Hebrews' enemies". Later, in 2 Kings 19:35, the angel kills 185,000 Assyrian soldiers.
In the Book of Enoch, angels of punishment and destruction belong to a group of angels called satans with Satan as their leader. First, they tempt, then accuse, and finally punish and torment both wicked humans and fallen angels.[4]
In Judaism, such angels might be seen as created by one's sins. As long as a person lives, God allows them to repent. However, the angels of destruction can execute the sentence proclaimed in the heavenly court after death.[5] Also called Malachei Habala ("Sabotage Angels"), they punish sinners in the underworld and are equated with Shedim (demons) (Berakhot 51a; Ketubot 104a; Sanhedrin 106b).
The angels of punishment as satans are recounted in Islam in the form of a hadith. According to which, a murderer is instructed to repent from their sins by leaving their evil environment and moving to a better one. However, they die on their way, thereupon a disagreement between the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment under the leadership of Iblīs (Satan) occurs, who may take the soul of the repenting murderer.[6]
However, Satan did not have control over those angels as he had lost authority during the rebellion, instead tempting and manipulating others to do his dirty work.[citation needed] As he was not the one committing the sin, punishment goes to the wrong doer, and Satan instead will become a victim along with other sinners from humankind to be tortured by those angels.[7][8]

Chuggington Headcanon: Wilson The Artist - WE WERE ROBBED \😫/
So if you know the CGI TV series Chuggington, you know its three main protaginists, Brewster, Koko, and Wilson, who is ultimately the main character overall, and TOTALLY THE BEST AND MOST RELATABLE talking train with face to grace the face of the earth and I'M TOTALLY NOT SAYING THAT OUT OF BIAS I'm NOT obsessed I'M PERFECTLY NORMAL I totally didn't kidnap him from his roundhouse to adopt him as my son I don't know WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT CRAZY A-
...Anyways, yes, Wilson is in fact the overall main character of Chuggington. He is mostly known for showing severe signs of ADHD, including having a short attention span and getting easily distracted, particularly in the first three seasons, and then in season 4, when our beloved trio move up to advanced training, Wilson becomes promoted as an apprentice for Chug Patrol Rescue Squad, due to various past occasions of him rescuing his friends from certain disaster.
Wilson has always been my favorite characater because he has the most relatable character of the main three, his fun personality is always so well-written, coupled with the voice acting from Morgan Overton and Tony Terraciano in the UK and US dubs respectively, and while his dodgy attention span, cheekiness and foolishness can get him into trouble, he always comes through to put things right and has creative and ingeniously unique ideas to solve problems. But you know what people DON'T talk about? >:( The fact that Wilson is CANONICALLY an ARTIST. 😎👌🎨
Let's quickly go over three examples:
Exhibit 1: Wilson and the Paint Wagon (Season 1 Episode 41)
So naturally, we must first go over the one that started it all: In "Wilson and the Paint Wagon", our trio learn how to use said wagons. Wilson struggles at first like the ADHD boi he is, but with Old Puffer Pete's help, he quickly learns how to control his paint wagon. 🎨
Right afterwards, see Wilson paint a yellow butterfly on his roundhouse door with some basic 2D detail. 🦋
And at the end of the episode, Wilson's newfound talent comes full circle when he demonstrates his skill to his friends as paints a picture of the main trio with Dunbar on the wall in the Training Yard, and coming from someone who's been drawing since three, I think it's safe to say he's got quite the unique artstyle for a beginner. 😎👍

Exhibit 2: Trainer Wilson (Badge Quest Season 2 Episode 13)
In the 13th and final second series episode of the Badge Quest short series, Wilson is to teach Hoot and Toot how to use the paint wagon, where he graces us once again with his painting skills with a picture of Hoot and Toot. 😌
Not too much difference in the artstyle compared to last time, but still a vitally noteworthy mention nonetheless.
Exhibit 3: Chug-O-Flage (Season 3 Episode 4)
And last, but definitely not least, "Chug-O-Flage" from season 3.

After unsuccessfully trying to make a camouflage net for safari training with Mtambo, Wilson decides to instead camouflage himself by getting painted as a parrot (Big mistake, it almost got him killed lol 🦏) but I'm sorry, the fact he got himself painted as A PARROT?🦜 HE CAME UP WITH THAT PAINT JOB, He TOTALLY DESIGNED THAT and somehow programmed it into the spray shed computer or something- THERE IS NO OTHER WAY- I SWEAR TO GOD, he HAD to- You can't tell m- there's NO WAY-
Your honor, my boi is an artist, I rest my case. 😌
This is why Wilson is best chugger. He's not only my inner child, (yours too, don't lie 😈) he's an artist. CANONICALLY an artist. He has ALWAYS had talent, Why wasn't there MORE of this, LUDORUM YOU ROBBED US ALL-
So finally here's where my headcanon comes into play:
Whenever Wilson makes the time for it, he likes to make paintings with the paint wagon just for the fun of it, usually of his favorite things like butterflies, ice cream or even his friends.
'Course, he already knows he can't just do it anywhere without permission, cuz dat's graffiti which is illegal, he usually uses whatever flat junk or scrap he can get hold of such as old metal sheets or wooden boards, even unused hopper cars rusting away in sidings that haven't met the cutter's torch get a touch up.
Sometimes, he does have actual canvases for painting (Lori gives them to him 😊) and he even puts them up in the wall in his roundhouse. Whatever he can't put in there is safely put in a storage unit located behind the Loading Yard.
It's safe to say his artstyle has improved quite a lot since what we've seen on-screen. 😉😎👌🎨

In Session with... Jessica Hindman
What made you study English?
A few months ago, my 3-year-old daughter looked out of the car window on a hot day and said, "Mommy, the sun is loud." Part of what excites me about creative writing is that it brings us back to the curiosity and wonder and creativity we had with language when we were very young. And that routine, mundane things can be made new again through fresh ways of describing them (the sun IS loud).
What made you choose the profession you are in now?
If you had told me when I was in college that one day I would be an English professor, I probably would have been very upset. I didn't particularly enjoy college, and I didn't major in English. But, life has a way of taking us in unexpected directions. When I was in my mid-twenties, I was working on several writing projects about the Middle East, where I studied during the early 2000s. To get help with my writing, I applied and was accepted to an MFA program in Creative Nonfiction writing. During the program, I won a competitive teaching fellowship that allowed me to receive free tuition in exchange for teaching. I was excited about the free tuition part, not so much the teaching. But the pedagogical training I received as part of the fellowship changed my life. It was there that I realized that teaching could be as intellectual an activity as writing; indeed, I began to see that learning how to teach writing was crucial to me becoming a better writer. I began to truly care about understanding my students' lives and helping them write what they wanted, how they wanted. From then on, I was on the path that led me to my current role.
Any advice for graduating English majors and beginner English majors?
In my experience, the first few years after college graduation can be difficult. Gone are the days of knowing exactly what to do next. There is so much uncertainty, so much that is not within your control. And our current society is, in so many ways, a cruel one: There are few safety nets. If you find yourself lost, unmoored, depressed, filled with rage, cursing all of your choices in life, cursing in general--you are not alone. You aren't crazy or stupid. You are just in a tough time and tough place. Speaking for myself, the post-graduation years were some of the toughest, but they also ended up being some of the most important. I failed over and and over and over again. And all of those failures became the material for the book I would write, more than a decade later. I did not know much at the time (other than that I felt like a loser and my parents were mad that I wasn't making more money) but I did know to write down what I was seeing and thinking and feeling. And that writing—that sloppy, first-draft, sad-ass-journal-writing--that was the first draft of something that brought me to a much, much happier time.
My husband is an astronomy professor specializing in exo-planets, i.e. planets outside our solar system that might have life. We talk a lot about the process of going from being an amateur who loves something as a hobby (I love looking at stars at night and wondering if anyone else is out there!) to someone who is an expert (the extremely tedious and difficult math and science skills that have to be learned and perfected. The research that is so repetitive and finely-grained and slow, slow, slow). You don't just get a PhD in astrophysics and suddenly know how to find life in the universe. There is no class that can teach you how to do that—it is literally being figured out by the people trying to figure it out.
I bring this up because the same thing applies to a new English major: the most important thing you can learn in college is how many things there are to learn and ways there are to learn them. This can be really frustrating. You keep realizing, over and over again, that you don't know the things you need to know. You don't even know the things you don't know! Take heart—that is the point. You will never learn everything, but you will begin to know where to find specific pieces of knowledge and how to learn specific skills on your own. That is the crucial thing you will take with you into your post-graduation life--how to always keep learning, keep searching. How to identify problems that don't have easy answers and work toward solutions in an intentional, creative, ethical way.

Legend of Zelda Theme Park - Gerudo Desert
At long last, I've found a way to add the desert to my theme park!

At the western end of the Dark World is the entrance to a sandstone canyon which meanders a bit and then debouches onto a lively bazaar. Buildings are constructed from off-white masonry contrasting with brilliantly colored fabrics and mosaics. There are numerous planters containing palm trees and cacti to help direct foot traffic as well as providing bench space and extra shade. Near the center of the plaza is a circular fountain featuring a statue of a woman wielding a sword, surrounded by more vegetation. The outside edge of the area is bounded with facades representing sand dunes, among which can be seen landmarks such as the OoT Desert Colossus and BoTW Gerudo Town. From time to time, an animated figure of a Molduga arches from one sand dune to another like a breaching whale.

Attractions
Nabooru’s Training Course: A combination maze and obstacle course—periodically, the winding corridors offer an opportunity to hone your skills as an elite bandit…but if you don’t feel up to tackling the balance beam, overhead bars, crawl net, or other physical challenge, a normal path continues alongside the obstacle. This is just the beginners’ course—from time to time, you can peek through to a more advanced course where Gerudo make trapeze-caliber leaps over jets of fire, dodge flying darts, and disable booby traps (or fail to do so!). At the end of the maze is a playground featuring more things to climb and jump in, just in case you had any excess energy left.
Gerudo Warriors’ Procession: Taking place at scheduled intervals in the bazaar, a squad of the Gerudo tribe’s most impressive warriors parade through the street to a stage where they demonstrate some of their combat skills.
Skipper’s Time-Shifted Boat Tour: Inspired by the Lanayru Sand Sea from Skyward Sword, this dark ride uses projection mapping, augmented reality goggles, and a bit of motion simulation to create the illusion of riding in a boat through a desert that has been transformed into an ancient ocean, but only in a set radius around the craft thanks to the aura of the Timeshift Stone. Fantastic corals appear and disappear, long-decayed ships spring back into operation only to wither again as the boat leaves them behind, the bleached bones of sea monsters turn into living threats until the robot guide manages to outrun them. The queue includes a few interactive “windows” where the push of a button activates a Timeshift Stone to alter a scene—a massive tree reverts to a tiny sapling in a meadow, a crumbled ruin becomes a bustling fortress in its heyday, etc.
Sand-Seal Rally Race: A high-speed ride along a figure-eight racing track, in a seal-drawn “sand sled.” Watch out when you get to the crossing point—don’t crash with another sled!
Shops
5. Silken Palace: Scarves, shawls, capelets, veils, and other free-flowing clothing and accessories made from scrumptiously colored and patterned fabrics…even sarees! Knowledgeable staff can show how to properly put on your purchases if you need help.
6. Hotel Oasis Spa Shop: A health and beauty shop featuring LoZ-inspired makeup palettes, custom-blended perfumes and colognes, bath salts, soaps, scrubs, massage oils, and other products to pamper your skin after a long day in the desert.
7. Starlight Memories: A jewelry boutique specializing in big, showy styles of earrings, bracelets, necklaces, brooches, and even diadems. Many pieces are inspired by the traditional jewelry styles of the Middle East and South Asia.
8. Sand-Seal Adoption Center: The Sand-Seal Rally Race exits through this shop specializing in plush toys of sand seals and other desert creatures both real and fanciful, with an optional “adoption ceremony” for your special new friend.
9. Miscellaneous Merchandise Booths: Small spaces leased out to small business retailers whose wares are in line with the overall “vibe” of the Bazaar.
Eateries
10. Gerudo Bistro: A café with well-shaded patio seating, featuring a menu of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern entrees and appetizers.
11. Arbiter’s Grounds: An Arabian/Persian/Turkish style coffee and tea bar, harking back to the ancient relationship with coffee enjoyed by the cultures that inspired the Gerudo. Brews are available hot, iced, flavored, even blended with ice cream for a perky smoothie. Or head next door…
12. Kara Kara Creamery: Beat the heat with frozen treats! Ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet, milkshakes, and smoothies are all available here, made to order. If you’re with a group, try the Seven Heroines Sundae, with seven “orbs” of different flavors reflecting the virtues prized by the Gerudo: skill, spirit, endurance, knowledge, flight, motion, and gentleness.

An encounter (by Emil August Glogau)
When I took the morning train from Frankfurt to Berlin at the end of September, a young Uhlan officer nimbly jumped onto the departing train in Gotha, threw his hunting rifle into the luggage net of the compartment I was sitting in, pulled his coat collar up over his chin, made himself comfortable in his seat and was immediately asleep. At the station I had bought the recently published “Der Rote Kampfflieger” but I had put it right into the luggage net next to my buttered breads because I had more interest in my sleeping neighbour. How can someone fall asleep so easily? Who is able to train their will in such a way that the boundary between wakefulness and sleep can be crossed so easily? This young man must have a strong energy, I thought to myself, but his clean-shaven schoolboy face gave a different impression. Didn´t the blond youth look around out of good-natured blue eyes when he boarded the train? How deliberate and determined were his movements, how powerful his grasp of the rifle? The square head and strong jawline belonged to a eastern German Junker. But how did the lines of resignation from the cheekbone to the chin fit into this motionless face? Had the war dug the furrows in this young lieutenant's face? Only then do I see the two stars on his epaulettes. Rittmeister? Rittmeister at twenty, twenty-four at the most? Well – entered in Gotha - Thuringian principalities - flashes of awards under his coat collar - a prince, then. Then the eyes opened as suddenly as they had closed before, focused on my luggage net and shone as if they say saw something that made him very happy. The „prince“ seemed to be hungry, I thought, maybe you can offer him one of your breads? „Is there a dining car?“ he asked. „Unfortunately not, but may I offer you a buttered bread, I caught your look and was hesitating whether or not to offer”. He then laughed out loud, blushed like a first-time published author, took a bite of my bread and replied, "Oh no, I looked at the book. I get such a kick out of the fact that every traveler buys one of these things. You see..." - pointing to the people waiting at the railway station in Weimar - all "red fighter pilots”. I beginn to understand, reach for the book, open the cover and now know that I am sitting face to face with the red fighter pilot himself, Manfred Freiherr von Richthofen. „Have you read it already?“ he asked me. I denied. „Well, better leave it! Because I cannot write, I can only fly and shoot and run my mouth a little about whatever comes to mind“. And so he then told me, with eloquent lips that have now closed forever, about his adventures in the skies until we arrived in Berlin. I could fill a book with it, but this book is already filled by himself, but I wish I had the ability to give an account of the boyish freshness of this famous daredevil, the bubbly mentality of this child of nature and the soldierly simplicity of this Silesian nobleman. “I´m just a fighter pilot,” he said, “but Boelcke, he was a hero.” He buttoned his coat so that the people wouldn´t stare at his Pour le mérite. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a telegram. “Look, isn´t it nice of the Kaiser, he telegraphs to congratulate me on my sixtieths victory: ‘Now rest for a while.’ I was invited on a hunt at Schloss Reinhardsbrunn by the Herzog von Koburg-Gotha, and now I´ll meet up with my brother Lothar in Berlin. Sadly, Moritz isn´t with me. Moritz? That's my Great Dane, he has to be with me everywhere. Sometimes I even take him up in the air. Do you know Berlin? Yes? Great! Then you have to show us around a bit, we don´t know it and have no acquaintances there. Just once, I visited the Kaiser but he isn´t there now.
By the way, a nice thing happened to me once: I was driving with a lady, like we are now, and I gave here a lift in my pre-ordered car when there was a great shortage of cars. Of course, I had my shotgun with me, as always, because there's nothing like a hunting, is there? The lady had two sons as volunteers in the field and made mocking remarks: Of course, you officers, you have time for hunting while my brave boys have to lie in the trenches'. I told her: 'I always hunt, I do nothing else, day and night'. She replied that it was a scandal that I was proud of it. When we reached her house and before I drove off, I called after her: 'I hope you will soon read again about my hunting successes. I am Manfred von Richthofen.' You should have seen her face." We arrived in Berlin; when we said goodbye, he asked me if I could take some time off around Christmas. He would be taking a long holiday and he could meet me then. “Ah no,” he interrupted himself, “I can´t promise that… Well, you know, I´m probably due now. After all, the English have put out a huge bounty on my head for a long time." He clicked his heels together and waved at me again from the crowd. For me, it was to be his last greeting. Now he has moved into Valhalla.

How to Choose the Most Profitable Franchise in India: A Beginner's Guide?
Franchising is one of the most accessible ways to become an entrepreneur in India. You get a ready-made business model, brand recognition, and support to grow — all without starting from scratch. But with hundreds of options across food, education, retail, healthcare, and tech, a pressing question arises: how do you choose the most profitable franchise in India?
In this beginner-friendly guide, we break down the factors that make a franchise profitable, what to look for, which sectors are booming in 2025, and how to make a smart investment decision.
1. Understanding Profitability in Franchising
Before diving into franchise selection, it’s important to understand what “profitability” means in the context of a franchise.
Key Profitability Metrics:
Return on Investment (ROI): How fast you recover your capital.
Net Profit Margin: Profit after expenses and royalty fees.
Break-Even Time: How long it takes to become profitable.
Recurring Revenue: Consistent cash flow from repeat business or subscriptions.
A profitable franchise balances low initial investment with high demand and strong operational support — all critical for long-term success.
2. Why Franchising Is Booming in India
India is one of the fastest-growing franchise markets in the world. According to FAI (Franchise Association of India), the sector is expected to grow at over 30% CAGR, with education, food, retail, and healthcare leading the way.
What’s Driving the Growth:
Rising middle class and urbanization
Digital adoption and tech-based franchise models
Demand for branded and standardized services
Government focus on skill development and entrepreneurship
For beginners, franchising offers a business-in-a-box solution — with reduced risk, brand support, and scalability.
3. Most Profitable Franchise Sectors in India (2025)
a. Education & EdTech
Low setup costs (especially online)
High demand for coding, AI, language, and upskilling courses
Ideal for Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities
b. Food & Beverage (F&B)
Proven demand, especially in quick-service restaurants (QSR)
Requires strong location strategy and footfall
Higher investment, but also higher foot traffic
c. IT & Tech Training
Emerging sector with focus on digital skills (AI, Data Science, Cybersecurity)
Online delivery means lower operational costs
High ROI due to growing demand for job-ready skills
d. Health & Wellness
Fitness, Ayurveda, diagnostic labs, and skincare clinics are booming
Requires skilled staff and local trust building
Moderate to high investment
e. Retail & Apparel
Consumer-driven but location dependent
High investment, especially in metros
Strong supply chain required
Step 2: Choose the Right Industry
Select a sector aligned with your interests and local demand. For example:
Passionate about teaching? Try education or training franchises.
Good at customer service? F&B or retail could be ideal.
Interested in tech? IT education or software service franchises work well.
Step 3: Evaluate Market Demand
Check if there’s a local or regional demand for the franchise's offerings. Ask:
Are people already spending on similar services?
What’s the competition like?
Can this franchise solve a real problem?
Tip: Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities often have untapped potential with less competition.
Step 4: Analyze the Franchise Model
Look at the franchisor’s business structure:
Do they offer marketing support?
Is training included?
Are tech systems and platforms provided?
What is the royalty percentage?
Is there territory exclusivity?
These factors significantly impact operational ease and profitability.
Step 5: Study Financial Projections
Ask the franchisor for:
Detailed cost breakdown
Break-even timelines
Expected monthly expenses
ROI projection over 1–3 years
Compare these figures with your financial goals and risk appetite.
Step 6: Check Reviews and Franchisee Feedback
Talk to existing franchisees if possible. Ask:
Are they happy with the support?
Are financial projections accurate?
Any challenges you should know?
How soon did they become profitable?
Real-world feedback helps validate the opportunity.
Step 7: Assess Long-Term Scalability
A good franchise should grow with you. Look for:
Opportunities to upgrade to multi-unit ownership
Flexibility to expand to new locations or regions
Potential to introduce new product lines or courses
The most profitable franchise in India is not just about short-term ROI — it’s about long-term scalability.
Why Education & IT Franchises Are Often the Most Profitable
Among all sectors, education franchises (especially in IT and tech) are becoming the most profitable due to:
Low setup and staffing costs
High course fees and gross margins
Digital delivery models
Government and corporate partnerships
Consistent student demand for future-ready skills
Institutions like Boston Institute of Analytics offer franchisees a powerful platform with:
Courses in AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Business Analytics
Full tech support, training, and certification
Low investment starting from ₹2.5 lakhs
100% online or hybrid models with high scalability
Such models cater to students and professionals across India — and offer exceptional ROI for first-time business owners.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the most profitable franchise in India requires a mix of financial planning, market research, and personal alignment. There is no one-size-fits-all answer — what’s profitable for someone in Mumbai may not work in a small town unless tailored correctly.
The key is to pick a franchise that:
Has low operating costs
Offers high demand in your area
Provides strong franchisor support
Fits your interest and effort level
Is future-ready and scalable
In 2025, with India’s booming digital economy and education revolution, IT and online training franchises are leading the charge — offering both profitability and purpose.
If you’re ready to take your first step into entrepreneurship, now is the perfect time to explore and invest in the most profitable franchise model for you.

Serverless Computing with .NET 8 and Azure Functions
In serverless computing, applications can be developed and deployed without managing infrastructure. With .NET 8 and Azure Functions, this approach becomes even more powerful and efficient. For those looking to master these technologies, enrolling at the Best DotNet Training Institute in Hyderabad, Kukatpally, KPHB can give you the skills and confidence to build modern cloud-based solutions.
What is Serverless Computing?
As a result of serverless computing, developers don't need to manage servers or worry about scaling. You simply write small functions that respond to specific events—like an HTTP request, a timer, or a message in a queue—and the cloud platform takes care of the rest.
Because you’re only charged for the resources used during the execution of your code, serverless is not only easier but also cost-effective for many types of applications.
Benefits of Using .NET 8 with Azure Functions
With the release of .NET 8, Microsoft has added several enhancements that make it a perfect match for building serverless applications using Azure Functions.
Faster Cold Starts
.NET 8 introduces Ahead-of-Time (AOT) compilation, reducing startup delays in serverless environments—crucial for improving response times.
Modern Language Features
Developers can use C# 12, which offers cleaner syntax and improved productivity, making function development quicker and easier.
Simplified Architecture
Features like minimal APIs and built-in dependency injection support make writing scalable functions more straightforward and organized.
Durable Functions
Need long-running workflows or scheduled tasks? Azure Durable Functions are capable of handling complex patterns such as chaining and parallel execution easily.
Common Use Cases for Serverless with .NET 8
Here are some scenarios where combining .NET 8 with Azure Functions works beautifully:
Building Lightweight APIs Quickly deploy APIs that automatically scale based on user demand.
Automating Tasks and Jobs Use timer triggers to run scheduled jobs like report generation or backups.
Processing Real-Time Data Handle streams of messages or sensor data using event-driven functions.
Microservices Architecture Build modular, independent services that respond to business events.
Getting Started with .NET 8 and Azure Functions
To start building serverless apps with .NET 8, you’ll need:
Visual Studio 2022 or later
Azure Functions Core Tools
An active Azure account
Once set up, you can choose a function trigger (like HTTP or Timer), write your function logic, and deploy it to Azure in just a few steps.
For beginners, guided training can make a huge difference in understanding the development and deployment process.
Conclusion: Your Career in Serverless Starts Here
Serverless computing with .NET 8 and Azure Functions is a future-ready approach to application development. It's scalable, cost-effective, and developer-friendly. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to upgrade your skills, joining Monopoly IT Solutions can help you build strong foundations in these technologies and advance your career in cloud development.
