Hi. That way that Zuko talked about his eye in that most recent chapter of LIAB. Ooft (emotional). My right eye is completely blind, and although everybody with any sort of blindness has different experiences, I wanted to say that if you have any questions or something to do with Zuko, feel free to hmu about that and I can probably give my perspective, not that you’d have to take it. I am by no means an authority nor expert in blindness in general, and I don’t claim to speak for other blind people, but I can share my personal experience. For example, I’m not great at catching small objects, like I’m pretty athletic and things like netballs and basketballs are fine and easy, and I’ve played competitively with no notable visual problems, but smaller things like ping pong balls or even tennis balls can be difficult, or like if somebody tried to toss me a pen, probably due to depth perception, but like that sort of thing might be relevant for Zuko. Also, just because it might be a thing for me, doesn’t mean that it’d work best in your writing, for whatever reason. I was just offering, in case you wanted a personal perspective.
This is such a gracious and helpful gesture!! Thank you so much for offering your first hand experience :) I’d love to pick your brain sometime!
Feel free to DM me anytime & I’ll be sure to reach out for some advice :)
Thank you so much

I am reading scholarship applications today and I love all these young people. Their proud detailing of all their high school awards! Their part-time jobs in pubs and as canola harvesters and on pig farms! Their CFA volunteering and football/netball team coaching and mental health fundraising, and their ambitions to be midwives and occupational therapists and cybersecurity experts and wildlife biologists! I want to give all of them a scholarship but it’s not up to me.

5 Ways to Start Improving Your Growth Mindset
Tumblr media
We all know that by approaching what we do holistically, a sense of well-being will enhance our lives. Although, if we’re honest, the path to wellness can be daunting, not to mention overwhelming.
You want to make a change. You want to do the right thing. But how can you put one foot in front of the other? Where is the best place to start?
As a Mindset Expert and Business Coaching, Start-up Mentor, I am dedicated to empowering female entrepreneurs to overcome self-doubt and build their dream businesses with clarity.
Overall, I believe in the power of mindset. It has been key to the success of my clients. I’ve had extremely motivated women enrol for my coaching programme who were terrified that they wouldn’t fulfil their dreams because they didn’t have a strong enough skillset.
But a skillset is about capabilities and a mindset is about belief systems. You could have the most robust skill set and years of experience under your belt, but if your mindset is negative, self-critical and unfocused, you will certainly struggle to succeed.
On the flip side, a strong mindset will allow you to continually develop your skillset. The formula is a winner!
Improve your Growth Mindset
Getting into the right mindset is a beautiful and rewarding journey. If you fall into the trap of having a fixed mindset that settles into what is working for you, you’ll find it difficult to make changes and evolve.
What we do together is create a growth mindset by empowering your belief system. This way, you allow yourself the opportunity to drastically change your entire experience of your inner world and the world around you.
Here are 5 ways to start improving your growth mindset:
Change the Narrative
If you’re starting a new project, don’t think, “I hope this will be easy for me.” Instead, open yourself up to thinking, “This will be interesting!”
If you receive negative feedback, don’t kick yourself and say, “This proves I am rubbish.” See it as an opportunity and say, “Okay, I’m excited to get back to work and learn more.”
With a fixed mindset approach, it’s easy to attribute success and failure to inherent ability. You may look for reassurance by doing things you know you’re comfortable with.
A growth mindset coaching leads you to take inspired action in your work and look at challenges as learning curves.
Seek Feedback
Whether you view a recent project as a success or not, seeking feedback from people you worked with is a great way to develop a growth mindset.
They may give you insight into where you’ve developed or what needs improvement. You might receive a welcome vote of confidence or a better understanding of how to make positive changes.
Learn Something New
From yoga to salsa, from netball to learning a musical instrument, challenge yourself to learn something that you’re not already good at. What about a new language? Creative writing? The basics of economics?
This will shift you out of your comfort zone whilst keeping you focused during the time you’ve specially carved out for yourself to learn.
It’s Okay to Make Mistakes
You won’t get everything right the first time you try. Be kind to yourself and allow yourself the space to make errors, and then learn from them.
Mistakes are necessary and should be seen as positive rather than negative. They are all part of the learning process. You can only identify any weakness or lack of understanding by making a mistake.
Ask yourself this; if you saw somebody fail at a task that you know inside out, would you tell them they’re useless or encourage them to learn?
Welcome a Life of Wellness
Opening yourself to holistic ways means you want to transform and develop. I recently launched, Holistified, a specialist platform that unites wellness experiences and ethical and wellness products with wellness seekers and the conscious shopper.
By visiting holistified.com you can immediately find one-to-one and bespoke offerings, classes, workshops, events, courses and retreats.
Ethically sourced items are available in the online shop, too. You can be sure, if it’s happening and it’s holistic, it’s listed.
Over the past year, I have been dedicated to ensuring that holistified.com will empower its users with the best tools to cultivate well-being and connect to mind, body and soul. Did I make mistakes? Many! Am I learning every day? Of course!
Simply put, a Holistified lifestyle is about creating a better you. A more informed you. It is about discovering your highest potential. I have had to dig deep and ask myself so many questions in order to understand the importance of wellness in the community and lifestyle. And, as for all business owners, it’s an ongoing work in progress.
As Marilyn Monroe famously said, “A wise girl knows her limits, a smart girl knows she has none.” Being a boss should not be seen as a job. It’s a mindset.
And whether you’re the CEO of a company or head of your household, any type of boss cannot be fixed within their thinking. So open yourself up to all the possibilities out there, believe you can…and you will.

Title: Diamonds' World Cup Campaign to be Broadcast Live and Free for Netball Fans - Don't Miss a Minute of the Action! Diamonds' World Cup Campaign to be Broadcast Live and Free for Netball Fans - Don't Miss a Minute of the Action! The Diamonds' World Cup Campaign has made history by becoming the first national netball team to have their campaign broadcast live and free, ensuring that netball fans around the world will not miss a single moment of the action. The decision to make the campaign available for free was made by the International Netball Federation (INF) in a bid to grow the sport and increase its visibility on a global scale. This move has been widely praised by fans and industry experts alike, who see it as a positive step towards greater inclusivity and accessibility for the sport. What is the Diamonds' World Cup Campaign? For those who may not be familiar with the sport, netball is a highly competitive team game played by two teams of seven players. The Diamonds' World Cup Campaign is the pinnacle of international netball, bringing together the top national teams from around the world to compete for the coveted title of World Champion. This year's tournament is set to take place in Liverpool, England from July 12-21, with matches running throughout the day and evening. The top eight teams from around the world - including Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica and England - will battle it out in a round-robin style tournament, before moving on to the knockout stages. Why is this year's campaign so significant? Aside from the historic decision to broadcast the campaign live and free, this year's World Cup is also significant for a number of other reasons. For one, it will be the first time that matches will be played using the newly-updated rules, which were designed to make the game faster and more dynamic. In addition, there are a number of standout players to watch out for, including mid-courter Liz Watson and goal shooter Caitlin Bassett, who both hail from the Australian Diamonds. Other players to keep an eye on include New Zealand's Maria Folau, England's Jo Harten and Jamaica's Romelda Aiken. How can you watch the campaign? Thanks to the INF's decision to make the tournament available for free, fans from around the world will be able to tune in to watch the matches live via a variety of media platforms. This includes television networks such as the BBC and Sky Sports, as well as online streaming services like Netball Live and Sky Go. For those who are unable to watch the matches live, there will also be plenty of highlights and replays available on various social media channels and websites, ensuring that no one has to miss a minute of the action. Final thoughts Overall, the Diamonds' World Cup Campaign promises to be an exciting and highly competitive tournament, with the world's best netball players coming together to battle it out for the title of World Champion. Career Aspirations
Heading into the Sports Media Degree, I wasn’t 100% sure on what exactly it was that I wanted to do. The Sports Media industry was the definite area I wanted to pursue, I just wasn’t sure if that would be commentary, journalism, video editing or something completely different. Now I’m at the very end of the course and I am still very open to all of aforementioned possibilities. Commentary appeals to me as I love the idea of calling sport live and applying your own unique twang to it. My player identification in the AFL is elite and the internship at OEFN has quickly developed my skills to attribute names to numbers & faces at a fast rate.
My video editing skills prior to the course were completely non-existent, whilst my writing skills weren’t bad. Both through certain assessments and the internship, my writing capacity and skills have broadened and strengthened, due to writing many previews and reviews, across multiple sports.
Tumblr media
Masterclass 2011
Looking to the near future, I look to continue applying for jobs, but at an increased rate. I have applied for a couple here and there, whilst I’ve been busy with the internship and work. However now I need to focus more on applying jobs I want and a wider range of jobs.
My job search might be more fruitful following the appointment with Holmesglen jobs and skills serives. Ella was fantastic in pointing out how to strengthen my resume and some handy tips on how to word things to balance confidence with non-cockiness. Which was something I asked her about, given I tend to find it hard to talk myself up. Something I learnt through the course regarding importance of items in resumes changing was echoed by Ross & Young (2005), pointing out that the importance and presentation of certain information your resume should change depending what job you are applying for.
Hopefully I can land a job as a writer or digital content creator at a sporting club/organisation in the next 6-12 months. If not, I will keep applying for jobs and keep growing my skills, both sideways and upwards. A goal of mine is to develop a website which incorporates videos, articles, games and quizzes and run it myself and hopefully run it alongside friends when the website becomes bigger. This would be a multi-sport, multi-faceted website. Sports would likely range from Australian Rules Football to cricket, to netball, to hockey.

Late great Ed Sheerer - AP News
As mentioned, whether I am successful in my job hunt in 2023 or not, I will look to expand my skills in all areas, through Youtube tutorials or seeking further advice from professionals.
Further down the track, I aspire to become an ‘expert’ with respect to AFL, cricket, netball or any other major sport. I understand this will take a lot of time and hard work, but I am willing to do what it takes.
Sports Media has very much developed and broadened my skills, grown my confidence in these areas and as a person and helped me realise what I want my career to look like.

Sports Sponsorship Emma McKeown Harry Tregubov David Paradis Gina Rinehart Pat Cummins Alenta Energy
Rinehart’s stature as a donor to underfunded sports, such as Rowing Australia, a number of singles swimmers, the AOC and, most recently, Netball Australia, whose financial struggles made headlines in the middle of this year. West Australian, through Hancock Prospecting, signed a four-year, $15 million deal to fund Netball Australia’s high-performance programmes, but concerns raised by local player Donnell Wallam prompted Diamonds players to refuse to wear the Hancock logo on their clothing. The team’s next three match series against England. Alinta Energy’s sponsorship of the Australian cricket team will be cut short.attributed to him:AP For the majority of sponsorship arrangements in Australian sport, particularly in major football and cricket, interactions between athletes and donors are carefully managed, often through the governing body of their sport. Players are well represented by unions and agents, their sports are well funded and the partners that sports attract are large companies with well-established corporate practices. A source said: “All sponsors seek the player’s image, name and appearance from time to time.” Announces. Another, who has a long history in the laws of football, said that relationships and obligations were always well defined and written into contracts. There is a tension between the high-performance imperatives of the sport’s commercial and marketing team divisions, which have a responsibility to bring in revenue to fund the sport. Coaches always want more time on the court, in the gym or on the field for their athletes, and less time preparing for photo shoots or having a short chat at cocktail parties. Cricket Australia, which this week split from power company Alinta, uses a points system to encourage players to contribute off the field, distributing cash rewards from a marketing fund to players who meet their maximum commitments. Captain Pat Cummins earned a decent tally of marketing points by shooting a year’s worth of Alinta stuff earlier this year, according to a source. Announces. loading Even when the arrangement is with an individual athlete, as in the case of Rinehart and Magnussen, there is no reason not to be mutually beneficial. Billionaire fund manager David Paradis has directly sponsored Cadel Evans, Jared Heine, and David Pocock over the years. Evans, Australia’s first Tour de France winner, was Paradice’s first foray into space. Under the terms of the arrangement, the cyclist will visit the Paradise Investment Office to speak to his staff. When there is a problem, it is not always from outside the sports organization. In the American landscape, which is dominated by private ownership, claiming landlords can be an athlete’s worst nightmare. Enter Donald Sterling, the disgraced former Los Angeles Clippers owner. He was subject to a life ban from competition after investigating racist comments. Among the more allegations made against him over the course of four years is that he fostered a “farmer mentality” in the organization and that he would take women into the Clippers’ dressing room while players were taking a shower “to look at those beautiful black bodies.” He sold his team in 2014 after a leaked audio recording of Sterling berating his wife for her “affair with blacks” and taking NBA legend Magic Johnson to the Clippers.
