Hello everyone, welcome to the start of a new week and the knowledge that the LOOOOOOONGEST month of the year is nearly over! 😂 Here’s a book haul 😜 Gwendy’s Magic Feather is the second book in the Button Box trilogy and although the first and third are written by Stephen King, in Magic Feather he has bowed out and instead writes the foreword. The story is however set in King’s fictional area of Castle Rock in Maine, “a sleepy little town built on a bedrock of deep, dark secrets, which is about to awaken from its quiet slumber once more.” Next up, another book to add to my #britishlibrarytalesoftheweird collection. Heavy Weather promises stories “from the flood myths of Babylon, the Mahabharata and the Bible, to 20th century psychological storms, this foray into troubled waters, heat waves, severe winters, hurricanes, and hailstones offers the perfect read on a rainy day or night.” Finally, we have Lemon, a gorgeous little book translated by Janet Hong, which I’ve had on my radar for some time now. “In the summer of 2002, when Korea is abuzz over hosting the FIFA World Cup, nineteen year old Kim Hae-on is killed in what becomes known as the High School Beauty Murder. But finding the perpetrator is not the main objective here. Instead, the work explores grief and trauma, raising important questions about guilt, retribution, and the meaning of death and life.” I’d love to know your thoughts on any of these books or authors, especially if you’ve read or want to read them. Have I tempted you? Let’s have a chat in the comments and have a lovely week everyone! 🤗😘 #bookstagramuk #ohlookmorebooks #booksgloriousbooks #anotherbookhaul #gwendysmagicfeather #stephenking #castlerock #richardchizmar #heavyweathertempestuoustalesofstrangerclimes #kevanmanwaring #lemon #readingtranslatedliterature #kwonyeosun #koreanfiction #janethong #newbookspleaseandthankyou https://www.instagram.com/p/CnxNroULEFW/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
