It took your four months to write 3.6 k?

Wow. Okay.

Usually I don’t respond to these sort of things because why give pathetic pieces of shit the time or effort they desperately crave.

But i’m gonna actually take the time to educate you and anyone else who may think the same way.

The fic you are referring to is my Alpha Ari series. GUESS WHAT? I’ve actually written 7 parts for that series so far, so no it did not take me 4 months to write 3.6k.

So why such a long break? Well for the past 2 months I’ve been grieving. (Feeling like a dick now?) so i’ve not been in the right headspace to even be on tumblr let alone write. I’ve only recently returned to tumblr to celebrate my 3000 lovely followers (a group i’m no longer including you in!)

But what about the other two months? GUESS WHAT? This isn’t my job. I have another full-time job that is fucking exhausting at times, AND i’ve been working on a research paper AND I’ve been applying (successfully I may add) to a PhD program! I’m also an Adult! I have responsibilities and other commitments therefore the amount of time I’ve had to write has only been a couple hours a week if that! This Ari series is not the only series I’m currently working on, the others include:

Demigod on Earth

Boston Bears

3k Followers Celebration Oneshots

Various other oneshots

So if I only have a couple hours a week to write, edit, make graphics and post an update, GUESS WHAT? Updates are gonna be slow! When book in a series get published the time in between is typically a year! And those Authors write full time! Do you really expect me to be some sort of robot?

So why don’t you go take a long hard look in the mirror and realise you are the problem. Writers put enough pressure on themselves we don’t need people like you adding to that. We do so fucking much for you guys and getting barely anything back except serial likes and shitty comments like this.

Hi thank you so much for reaching out I am more than happy to explain reblogging to you and anyone else who doesn’t quite get why us creators go on about it!

Okay at its basic level reblogs are so so much better than likes. Likes do barely anything, there isn’t an algorithm like tiktok or twitter where a highly liked post gets pushed out to others. Honestly the most it does is bookmark that post in your likes, which if you have set to private isn’t going to spread that work any further.

Reblogs however do get posts pushed out further because it allows other blogs who don’t follow the OG creator to see the post, and since fandoms work and survive on engagement this is why creators push for reblogs.

Now to explain what kind of reblogs are better than others essentially I see it as a scale.

At the bottom is likes: they do nothing to benefit the creators

Next is an empty reblog (no tags or comments) these are good because they spread the content further but they don’t help inspire a creator to keep creating

Next is a tagged reblog: these are better because people follow tags on tumble aka #andybarberfanfiction therefore more people can discover it but again doesn’t help inspire the creators

At the top is a comment reblog; these are amazing because they spread the work, tell others why its good and why they should read it and the comments inspire the creators to keep going! They make us do a little happy dance!

Now dropping into a creators ask box is what I consider an add on: you can do it and it boosts what ever option you went for. For example a like and an anon ask is better than just a like. They do however have limited reach because only those who follow the creator will see it when it gets answered so it might help their followers find a fic they missed etc but it doesn’t spread the content further than the creators followers if you get what i mean.

Of course I understand that some people might be hesitant for various reasons but there work arounds:

“I don’t know what to put” just a simple I loved this will do (just don’t ask for an update because that has an adverse effect)

“I like to keep my blog aesthetic and it doesn’t fit that” - create a side blog that’s specifically for reblogging content

“I don’t wanna seem annoying by blowing up their notifications with reblogs” - we love that! There is nothing that makes me happier than when i see multiple comments left on a series etc.

I could honestly go on and on and on about reblogs and engagement and what readers could do to help but I’ve tried to keep it as precise as possible and if other creators have other points that want to chime in on then they’re more than welcome to

Your family had been friends with the Thrombeys for years, your grandfather being childhood friends with Harlan

Despite very similar upbringings the two families couldn’t be more different

In many ways Harlan hoped that his children and grandchildren would pick a few things up from your family but it never happened

That was until you met Ransom

The two of your were fast friends and thick as thieves, often spending hours running around the backyard together

Linda would always screech whenever you both came back inside red faced and covered in dirt but Harlan would always tell her “let the kids be kids”

Unfortunately as you both grew older you found new friends and slowly began to grow apart

You found more friends similar to yourself and Ransom found friends that honestly were the worst kind of friends he could find

You reconnected briefly while both at university and you even nearly spent the night together but when you realised the kind of person Ransom had become you left and never spoke to him again

That was until Harlan gave Ransom an ultimatum, get a real job or lose your inheritance.

Harlan had been kind though, he’d given Ransom a list of jobs offers he could take

When Ransom saw your name and company on the list he instantly picked that one thinking he’d get an easy ride

But that definitely wasn’t the case, you treated him no differently despite the fact you were childhood friends and you still harboured a secret crush on him

It caught Ransom off guard, especially when you told him some hard truths, and he found himself wanting to prove you wrong

He became the perfect employee, he brought coffees in for everyone and even pitched a few ideas

Slowly he actually began to enjoy working, he became passionate in his project

But when the staff party rolled around you had expected him to revert back to his playboy ways but he didn’t, he spent the evening with you and it was just like old times

After a few to many drinks Ransom’s lips became loose and he admitted that you were right about everything you said about him and that he was sorry and that he was grateful you gave him a second chance

“Well no matter how much of a prick you are, I still know the sweet version of you is in there somewhere and I owed it to him to give you a chance”

“Thank you, you know that version of me had a pretty big crush on you as a kid” Ransom admits as he takes another swig of scotch

“And what about now?” You ask trying not to get your hopes up

“The word crush doesn’t even cover it” he admits smiling over at you.

Needless to say the two of you ended up finishing the night together and continued to for the rest of your lives

Okay so for my work I have to say

Memory Served and Court of Public Opinion (I'm combining these because CoPO is the sequel! It's darker than all my other work and full of fun twists and turns!)

Burnin' Up (I cannot put into words how much I love this series and I'm so sad it's coming to an end soon!)

Forgotten Lands AU (This is a newer one and there's not a lot there at the moment but I have so many ideas and I just loved diving into the world of fantasy!)

Fixer Upper (This one hit me out of nowhere and has taken me on a wild ride into the world of Mechanic!Curtis and I totally blame @sweater-daddiesdumbdork for my Curtis Obsession!)

As Long As You're Mine Pt 1 and 2 (I never expected I would write mob stuff because I very much live in the world of fluff and rainbows and all things happy, but I love this and I did struggle picking between this one and Nomad's Girl!)

I absolutely LOVE @sweater-daddiesdumbdork 's work that its near impossible to pick just one but I love Life's Short So Make It Sweet and The Pack series! Also all of Amber's Halloween series are amazing!

@time-for-a-lullaby is the QUEEN of Chris AUs! The Boston Brute got me obsessed with Hockey! Out of Left Field was AMAZING and Cowboy Chris makes me weak at the knees

@anika-ann writes the best Steve. Her work is so poetic that I feel like I'm reading a classic. Her Attached Series is amazing and makes me wish I had a professor Steve in my life

@stargazingfangirl18 is the QUEEN of Smut and everyone should BOW DOWN! Necessary Arrangement is INCREDIBLE and I cannot wait to get my hands on the published version! I'm also so happy that she is back and I can fully dive into more of her work!

@drabblewithfrannybarnes has the BEST Hockey AU with all the faves! I don't think I could actually pick which one is my favourite! Also she's another fave of mine that has returned and I can feel nature healing!

I could honestly go on and on with fic and writer recs because there are SO many amazing writers on this site so just go give them some support! Engagement has been real bad lately and as much as us writers say we write for ourselves, we share our work for you guys and it shouldn't be a one-way street, we should be getting more engagement than just serial likes in return for sharing our work. Slow Mornings - Steve Rogers x Reader

A/N: I’ve decided to make this a little bonus/extension to The Demigod from Asgard, but if you haven’t read that series don’t worry because there isn’t gonna be much plot to this 😂

Warnings: SMUT! 18+ ONLY! MINORS DNI! Fluff!

There was nothing better than waking up in Steve’s arms on a cosy December morning. It had been pretty cold and icy out recently so Steve hasn’t been going on his usual morning runs. A fact you were taking full advantage of, and you may also be using your powers to make sure it stayed icy for longer than normal.

Not that you’d ever admit that.

It had been a quiet few days at the Avengers tower, Bruce and Tony were away at some conference or something, Nat and Clint were on a mission, and Thor was off somewhere in the nine realms. Meaning you and Steve had the entire tower to yourself to do whatever you pleased

So it wasn’t surprising when you woke up to the sensation of Steve repeatedly pressing kisses along your shoulders and up your neck. Your whole body hummed in content, a smirk growing on your face when you did a little wiggle and felt just how awake he was.

As you rolled to face him, he moved to cover your body with his. Kissing you deeply before his lips moved south and he began worshiping your whole body. Every move he made was slow and sensual. Neither of you had anywhere to be or anything to do so you were going to savour this moment.

Slowly but surely with deep measured thrusts Steve coaxed you to completion. Only allowing himself to finish once you had. You smiles lazily up at him, reaching up to run your fingers then his hair just how he liked it.

Getting out of bed was a slow process, especially when Steve took every opportunity to wrap his arms around you and press kisses to any exposed skin he could find. By the time you made your way to the kitchen you were barely even dressed. You wore one of his plaid shirts and nothing else, while he just wore grey sweatpants giving you the perfect view of his chiselled chest.

No point covering up when there was no one else around.

You should have known Steve wouldn’t be able to keep his hands off of you. You had only started making french toast when he pounced, unable to whole himself back any longer. And who could really blame him, you were magnificently teasing in his shirt.

He easily pulled you away from the hob, lifting you up and setting you down on the kitchen island. He stood between your thighs as he ripped the shirt you wore open, buttons flying off and pinging against the counter and cupboards.

Your fingers tugged at his short strands of hair as he nipped and licked your chest. Tongue swirling around your sensitive peaks, making sure to give them equal attention. His hips rutted against yours as you dug your heels into the small of his back, pulling him closer.

It wasn’t long until his sweatpants were pushed low enough to free his erection and he was once again sliding home inside you. Just like before it was slow, passionate and sensual. All the love you felt for each other being communicated without the need for words. Your hips rolling to meet his in the same slow rhythmic tempo.

You both finished almost simultaneously, Steve’s arms wrapping around you securely as you slumped against his chest. He pressed kisses to your shoulder as you nuzzled your face into the crook of his neck, exhausted and basking in the afterglow.

As you lifted your head from his shoulder, your hands cupped his cheeks smiling as you kissed the tip of his nose before kissing his pink plush lips. All you could hear was your laboured breathing and beating hearts, all you could smell was the scent of your arousal and…. Something strange….

Peaking over Steve’s should your eyes widen when you see what was causing the strange smell. The french toast you’d been cooking on the hob was now in flames.

“Shit, shit, shit” you curse sending a blast of cold air towards the pan to extinguish the flames, pushing Steve away so you could run over and chuck the pan in the sink to be safe.

Steve looked over in shock “fuck how did we miss that?” He mutters.

“Sorry Sir, I’d noticed it but thought best not to interupt” JARVIS then said making Steve face turn beet red.

“No, no that’s okay JARVIS” you mutter shaking your head “just delete any footage there is and make sure Stark or anyone doesn’t find out” you add as Steve buried his face in his hands and lets out an embarrassed groan.

“Already deleted it Miss” JARVIS responds.

how did run free omega get kidnapped

Oooh this is a good question, I haven't actually decided how much of this part of her backstory I'll cover in the actual series so I'll explain it in case I don't in the series.

Her parents are Betas and when she was born as an Omega it really terrified them because they knew how dangerous it could be for an Omega, especially a Female Omega. So they protected her, kept her sheltered from the world to protect her from it.

When she was a teen an organisation knocked on the door, they told her parents about a safe haven for Omega's one where she could grow up and be safe, it was like a bording school. Her parents believed it was the safest place for her agreed to send her away.

However it was all a rouse and the nicely dressed representatives that knocked on the door where just the front of a trafficking ring. She stayed in a nice hotel for one night before being transported to the facility we meet her in at the beginning of the story, never to speak or hear from her parents again.

needless to say she is in a much better place now, and whether there's a reunion with her parents... I haven't decided that yet

awww that's so good to hear! I'm glad you found it useful!! and don't worry about asking more questions! I'd much rather get loads of questions and it allow people to feel more comfortable reblogging than not!

I would say the more reblogs the better, posts can easily get missed or buried on people's dashes so having as many reblogs as possible really helps people find creators' work. It's also why you'll see creators reblogging their own work multiple times so people in different timezones are more likely to see it etc.

Also from my own personal experience as a reader, seeing reblogs with comments on specific chapters of a series has encouraged me to read them because sometimes a series summary doesn't pull everyone in, but reblogs and comments on chapters are more specific and can encourage people to check out the series!

And masterlist reblogs are great too because you can give your comments as a series as a whole.

Like I said the more reblogs the better, the only 'spamming' that annoys creators is spam liking, spam reblogging is amazing! it can really make a creators day, I know i've had shit days and then opened tumblr to find someone has gone through a series of mine and commented on each chapter and it's made my day so so much better!

of course with the more reblogs we get, the longer it can take to reply to them so if it takes a while for a creator to respond don't feel discouraged and stop reblogging! we will get around to it eventually because we want to encourage it!

For your WIP snippet ask please! 🙏Rugby AU - Rugby Player!Chris and Co x Readers

Oh I am very excited about this AU but I haven’t written much for it yet at all, just planning and daydreaming mostly 😅 but I do have a little bit written for the first part and some moodboard WIPs for all the characters I plan to eventually write (its gonna be one hell of a project 😅)

So here’s a little snippet from the Chris x Reader story:

He made his way back towards the locker rooms where the rest of the team already were. They were all cheering and celebrating when he walked in which help push away the dark press cloud that had settled over him. He walked over to Johnny who was stood on one of the benches slapping the roof as he celebrated.

“Oi Storm!” Chris called out getting Johnny’s attention “congrats” he says tossing Johnny the player of the match medal.

“Really?” Johnny asks his eyes wide as he caught the medal.

“Yeah you deserve it more than me with that hat trick you scored” Chris nods, it had become some form of tradition for him to give up his medal for another teammate, he knew it meant at lot to them. He’d probably only kept a few and that was when no one on the team would accept it and forced him to keep it.

“Thanks cap” Johnny grins as he loops the medal around his neck and continues celebrating.

And some moodboard to make up for the fact I haven’t written anything where Chris and the reader have met yet 😅

The names are all work in process’ because I’m still workshopping them and swapping them around but this is where they are at them moment 😂
