Inktober/Nihitober #5 Decay

My life was dictated by the rules set out for me since day one. I walked a single straight path. Every road hits a dead end eventually. Just mine hit me sooner than others. I trudged through 20 years of life on a straight path with nothing ahead of me.

The sun and rain work in tandem to provide. But they can’t bear the burden alone. I am the final piece. Crawling, inching and sprawling decomposers eat away at all that's left of me. The line between me and the earth begins to fade. Roots burrow into me for a tight embrace. Pride fills this old husk with each new bloom. In the light the dandelions bloom into a loud, roaring yellow.

I hide deep within the forest. Please do not find me.

Inktober is almost upon us!

I know, I'm not ready either.

As usual none of the prompt lists I could find worked for me, so I decided to just make my own, nice and abstract as I like it. And ayone's welcome to join me in Nihitober!

I want to get back into exploring the darker sides of my art, the macabre and creepy and plainly strange--I've been neglecting that! So I picked the prompts accordingly, but you can interpret them however you like.

This is a low key thing, you don't have to do every day, you can use whatever medium you like--I will be doing ink but you do you. That includes writing btw.

Day 6 - Camp + Noise

The githyanki patrol had descended on the campsite when the moon was positioned at its highest. Shadowheart's tired eyes struggled to focus on the targets before her as the camp erupted into a frenzy, firebolt licking at her trembling fingers.
