Okay, today’s the day. Chopper, bb, we really need you to man up and shoot your asshole father in the god damned face! You couldn’t do it last week, but this week you can, we have faith in you. Just shoot the fucker!
Seriously tho, I would not be surprised if Kit goes after Ben as punishment for Chopper pulling the gun on him last week and that is the catalyst that gets Chopper to actually kill Kit. It’s not for himself or his cousin and aunt, nope, it’s cause Kit goes after Ben. Plus Kit knows that Ben knows he’s the one behind the attacks, dude is gonna go off and just try and kill a bunch of teenagers, so it’s only fair one of the teenagers Chopper gets to kill him right back.

I'm not worried about neung or palm bc they have an our skyy ep but I'm absolutely TERRIFIED for chopper
No matter what this won't end well for him I mean it's either his father dies/goes to jail etc and he loses the only parent he has or he loses the other people he loves (ben and neung) and compromises his own morals
My poor boy is SUFFERING and NOBODY fucking cares bc they're so focused on themselves and blaming chopper for something he can't control that they don't realize how hard it is for him!!!

While I agree to a certain extent with the comments about how Chopper's dad was kind of a one dimensional villain (his motivations were never really explored deeply, they mostly just rooted it to him being greedy and briefly mentioned him having resentment towards his brother when they were younger), one thing I think they did well with him was his relationship with his son.
From my pov, I think that he knows he's a bad person, he's self aware of that at least, but he doesn't think/want to be a bad FATHER. Yes, he had selfish reasons for wanting the business, but I do think a part of him really believes that he's also doing it for Chopper, so that he doesn't have to struggle as much to find success and wealth. In his own twisted way, I do think he loves his son. It's especially shown in the finale, when Chopper literally shoots him, but he still commands his men to not point a gun at his son. And the way he looked so hurt and betrayed when Chopper ultimately did not choose him over neungdiao, shows that he cares.
While we're at it, let's also talk about Chopper's feelings towards his dad. He's truly one of the most misunderstood characters in the series, never really having someone on his side because poor guy is always caught in the middle; his friends don't trust him because of his dad, and he morally would never side with his dad. I think his struggle to choose between what's right and his family is so real, because on one hand all the shit his father is doing is terrible, but especially in an Asian society and community where filial piety has been drilled into our heads since young, betraying his dad could not have been easy for him. He may hate everyth that his father is and stands for, but at the end of the day that's still his blood. I love how they show this especially in the finale, where even after he pulled the trigger on him, his first instinct when someone ELSE shoots his dad was to run to his side to try and help him.
Their relationship is complex in that way, and while I think they could have definitely fleshed it out even more, I think what they offered was sufficient to give the characters some form of depth and make them interesting.

Good morning on this finale day, one thing to note:
I will allow so many bad things to happen if only Chopper is happy at the end

"Do you want me to report it to the police and put my dad in jail?"
uh... yes?! not saying it's fun but it's kinda what you do if you know of someone killing a bunch of people.

NEVER LET ME GO (2022-2023) | ep. 12
Phuwin Tangsakyuen as Nuengdiao Kiattrakulmethee & Perth Tanapon as Chopper Kiattrakulmethee
Even though you are Uncle Kit’s Son, you are nothing like him. I know you’ve never had bad intentions toward me. For me, you are still my talented cousin.

the fact that nueng on the beach is unable to sleep without music, and yet it takes him very little time to adjust, to have the thing he can't sleep without become palm. the fact that when he goes back, all alone, he tries to fall asleep curled up around palm's abandoned shirt. the fact that it was never about the music, but about connection and feeling loved instead. the fact that nueng is just - so desperately lonely.
