》 Built a little base in a system with some other Travelers -- I really wish The Doghouse wasn't the name that stuck but, well, what can you do.
The Doghouse includes a pair of landing pads, a broadcast station, a lighthouse, and a tavern -- as well as a little shed where I get some work done, but, ah, don't worry about that one...
Located in Euclid as part of the Galactic Hub, Ommo Safe House offers refuge to the weary traveller in this pirate controlled system, with a Trade Station within view!
Just started getting involved with the Galactic Hub in No Man's Sky, as if I couldn't love this game anymore the idea of joining an entire civilisation just opens up a whole new world of possibilities!
according to all known laws of aviation, the kushala daora should not be able to fly. its wings are simply too small to pull its fat metal body off the ground. the kushala daora does not care, for it flies anyways.
the language system in NMS is the best iteration of the 'different species miscommunication' system in any game I have seen, period.
It makes you actually learn specific words, and try to understand their meaning by seeing their reactions to them! Which made both me and a few aliens extremely freakin' uncomfortable, cause I suddenly said or did something offensive for them, when I had absolutely no context for the options I was presented with and chose a random one.
I have offended this precious bean!!!!!! I will return later to him with a gift to make up for my behaviour, I promise.
Also, this is Really Freakin Impressive for a space survival game. Space survival does not, in any way shape or form, indicate the game should have any 'language barrier' gameplay! Yet here it is, and the game wouldn't be the same without it.
》 Setting up cozy little homes wherever I go, it seems. Finally had the opportunity to visit Lenes, where some Traveller-Friends have been setting up places of their own for a while now.
The place still needs some work, but we've got a bar, landing pads, and a half-finished fueling station, heh!
I've begun construction on what I intend to become my primary base of operations for my interstellar travels. The base that I constructed on Arbasind served its function as a shelter, but the environment was extremely hostile, which made it difficult to gather resources or work on the base for any extended period of time.
Gardenna, a name I submitted for the planet myself on first contact for obvious reasons, is a temperate planet. The weather has been mild and clear at all times, allowing me to explore and gather without the need for hazard protection. The local fauna is docile and inquisitive, and the entire planet is covered with lush vegetation and thriving ocean ecosystems. Once the outpost here is fully constructed, it will serve well as a base of operations.
For now, I've got the essentials in place: a landing pad, storage, power. The rest will be built on as I acquire the necessary materials, but that can wait as my gear and starship also require attention to bring their performance up.
In memory of Xxiou Games, a well loved and respected pillar of the No Man's Sky community on YouTube who passed away recently. Pyramids and kaleidoscopes were his favorites. Shine on you crazy diamond
