baby i feel like you think the hades and persephone dynamic is a good thing when it's really not. a much older guy kidnapping you, taking you away from your home and forcing you to be with him is bad. wilting away in this place that is against everything you stand for while your mother ravages the earth in her grief for you is bad. him being forced to give you up for at least a few seasons is a good thing, actually. you still having to go back to him, forever? bad.

rhysand says himself that his parents' relationship was bad, they were both miserable. that's what i'm saying.

why do you want feysand to be that? i get why sjm would say it's based on hades and persephone, but that was just their bargain. they are not hades and persephone, and that is a good thing. probably the most positive thing you'll ever hear me say about canon feysand.

Another Little Rant

I'm sorry, but not everyone wants Lucien.

Not his court. Not his brothers. Not Tamlin. Not his mate.

Rhys only puts up with him for the sake of an alliance. And I think Feyre only keeps him around because of the friendship they once had. Azriel hates him and I don't think Cassian, Mor, and Amren care enough to about him to really say anything.

This is why he's finding his own place and home with the Band of Exiles. Hence the name.

Now, don't go thinking I hate Lucien. I can hear y'all now thinking I'm the worst person because I don't put him on a pedestal. I don't particularly care for him. I only see him being beneficial to Vassa's story, because I do think the small moments between them are cute and they might actually mean something. I'm convinced that this is one of the very few reasons why she has kept him around this long. I never found Lucien as this exciting, funny character. I almost put down acotar when it first came out because I found Tamlin boring and Lucien annoying and I was convinced Feyre was either gonna end up with the boring one or the annoying one (but then Rhys came along 🥰). The only thing that got me through the beginning of acomaf was because I could smell feysand from a mile away. And don't even get me started on the end of that book.

I don't see the appeal in elucien at all. I'm convinced the only reason people support that ship is because of the fact that they are mates and they have this unusual obsession with Lucien. Don't know why, honestly. I don't know how people can read where Elain literally loses her newfound boldness, shrinks into herself, and literally hides in the kitchen refusing to pour water in a cup to make him tea and think "omg I can't wait for them to fall in love 😍." Like, if Sarah makes them endgame then I will be convinced that she forgot about every other acotar book she has written. And don't say "well if you don't want to read about fated mates, don't read acotar." She's talking about rejecting the bond and exploring what happens after and who's the only other couple who hasn't accepted their bond yet? Yeah, that's right, Elain and Lucien. I can only assume it's gonna be them who reject the bond. And yes, that would mean Lucien not having his mate. But, you know what, he's a grown ass man and he's not the baby everyone treats him to be. "Poor baby Lucien, he'll be so heartbroken." "He deserves his mate, he deserves to be happy."

Like what about Elain? Eluciens don't care about Elain at all and nothing will ever convince me that they do. She has found her place in the Night Court with her sisters, and her new friends. She is happy there. She is finally accepting her new life now, and she's doing all of that without Lucien.

Sorry for the rant, y'all. I don't care if no one likes this or comments on this or anything. this is my blog and it is my safe place to express how I feel at certain moments.

Also idk what SJM live they're referencing but apparently SJM said Nesta's POV is biased bc she's jealous of Feysand's love. And the anti Nestas are frothing at the mouth for it like it's some new ammunition to use against Nesta. Like I'm sorry you don't have reading comprehension skills and needed it spelled out for you...

I could have told you she's jealous of them. Not in a toxic, I wanna steal my sisters husband way. In a "I've literally never been loved in any way at all my entire life so seeing such grand and in your face displays of it often upset me and make me irrationally angry because I know I'll never have that or be worthy of it." It's called depression 😐, not an opportunity for you to cheer about your fav couple being vindicated. If it wasn't already clear, sjm still loves Feysand very much. Your favs weren't supposed to suddenly be hated just because Nesta internally criticized them. Nesta even realizes that her mother has never loved her the way Feyre loves her child and it breaks her heart. You're not supposed to read it and go "Wow what a bitch, she's jealous of her baby nephew" you're supposed to go "Wow that's super depressing I feel bad for her."

Let's talk about the dreaded pliant bones argument in ACOTAR

First of all, I don't ever want to see this stupid argument anywhere, especially after HOFAS. Second of all, none of the Archeron sisters are Illyrian so they do not have Illyrian anatomy suitable for childbirth. And yet, we see Feysand and Nessian as mates. So it's not like SJM even cared about that herself.

Then ACOSF happens, and oh no, c-sections don't apparently seem to exist and it becomes a BIG DEAL™ that Nesta changed only her own body and Feyre's body to have Illyrian anatomy.

People have been latching onto this argument like Rose on the goddamn Titanic, anything to cling to their sinking ship.

Let's not forget that Elain & Nesta had their bodies changed already once before, against their will. Why the hell would Nesta change Elain's body without obtaining consent after that traumatic experience? That would be a gross violation of bodily autonomy.

And Nesta was shown how to change the bodies. Which could hint that she still knows how, should a similar situation arise again.

But none of that even matters! What matter is that it's 2024 and we are still saying a woman can't be with the man she loves because she can't give him biological children. That is the crux of the argument Gw*nriels always try to skip around and say without saying. Like "oh no!! She can't have his babies!! Ship sank. It's over. The End."

As if a woman should be reduced down to her ability to procreate. This is not the middle ages people! Wake up!

Also, not to mention, even if we use that disgusting logic - The only other female in this series that is mentioned to have Illyrian anatomy is Emerie. Are we shipping Azriel with Emerie now? Because she can FOR SURE have his babies, if that's all that matters. Who cares about her own desires and personality and sexual preferences if she can have illyrian kids??

Now let's consider what people have been latching onto:

Gwyn...is flexible and adapts to training moves quickly. That's why Nesta commented she had "pliant bones", that's IT. She is part nymph and "has different anatomy than high fae", sure, but is that anatomy in any way, Illyrian? Water nymphs don't have Illyrian leathery wings either so I don't understand why insisting Gwyn has "pliant bones" is in any way endgame ship material. Why would her half-water nymph heritage give her the anatomy to birth a full grown illyrian-winged baby??

And then there's the cowards that use this argument by hiding behind SJM herself by saying "Well, I hate it too, but SJM is *kinda* known for writing like this and her characters are all male-dominated, fae-territorial blah blah, she is *kinda* hinting at endgame because the womb thing–" NO. No.

Don't hide. Tell the room exactly what you are saying. Which is the exact same misogynistic spiel as above, where you try to use gross medieval logic to justify your mf fictional ship, but you hide your faces when you say it. Because you know it's wrong, but you're still not above using that as "evidence" in your ship's favor.

I've even said before, I don't care what SJM says. If I don't like a misogynistic take, I am not using that as evidence in any capacity for any reason.

I'm not even being biased by my preferred ship. I genuinely just want people to stop using this argument because it's hurtful to women as a whole. Ship wars are fine, but ffs, when did we get to the point where we are pitting two women against each other based on whose uterus is more suitable??

And before you even say "I just have a problem because I ship Elriel" No. No.

It's about these kinds of cheap arguments in general. I have also never been one to go off saying how Gwyn can't be a valid love interest because her past SA trauma - That argument is also archaic and hurtful. I've never once used it. I don't like seeing it.

Can we just - Not do it? The only reason such arguments have gained traction is because they're constantly echoed by the toxic sides of the fandom online. It's gross and I don't want to be a part of a group that condones that.

Ship who you want, but let's just be respectful about it. We should not have to resort to cheap arguments like the above.

i feel as though the Gwyn ordeal within the fandom is giving the same as how some people are anti anything to do with the IC or Feysand (Feyre and/or Rhys) because of an unhealthy alcoholic Nesta’s opinion in the beginning of ACOSF and hear me out, the overt sexualization/self insert these “fans” have with Gwyn is giving the same as people only loving unhealthy Nesta because she is a self insert for all of the hatred they have for the series because in their minds it’s now “canon” these characters are “evil”, as though they don’t understand what morally grey means and same with Elain, she threatens specific people’s self insert with Azriel (or the others she’s associated with) the same way the Nesta stans have hatred for Feysand and Cassian because it threatens their “canon” of what Nesta is

(by over sexualization i mean shoving an traumatic SA survivor into BDSM fan art and completely ignoring how closed of and sheltered she still is by the end of the book because of her trauma and being re traumatized especially when she was in my opinion, anything but sexual in the book and rightfully so. in another way it’s feeling the same as people romanticizing Tamlin when he was physically abusing Fae Feyre to the point it would’ve killed Mortal her, they take a canonically traumatic thing and just rip the page of canon text in half while going “haha no, that’s not it silly” and then handing you essentially a fanfic as “proof” for their “theories”/their canon because that’s what it is- ‘their canon’ not Sarah’s. i just mean they’re taking Gwyn’s trauma away to have a character that wasn’t written into the story to serve their own needs as a reader instead of reading a different series the same way they took Feyre’s trauma away to go “awwww poor baby Tam-Tam” thusly taking the abuse he inflicted on Feyre out of him as a character to romanticize him. i don’t know if this made any sense, or if it was a decent comparison, my apologies. i just don’t feel like things would’ve gotten this bad if it was what is was, a crackship and nothing more because maybe then they would’ve at least- maybe, hopefully, been even a little more respectful of Gwyn having been traumatized. coincidentally, all the characters the hate is over, not including the Archeron sisters, are canonically side characters and i don’t why that pisses people off so much.)

The Archeron sisters and bat boys are the main characters of the series. That is clear and is shown throughout the series.

If anyone wants to comment on this post with their opinions of how people treat Gwyn and how they view fanon Gwyn as canon Gwyn, please feel free. In my opinion, Gwynriels depictions of Gwyn are disturbing. They sexualize her and it’s honestly wrong. After what she has gone through, creating art and coming up with “theories” that involve Gwyn in a sexual way make me completely uncomfortable.

Regarding Nesta, she went through a lot and dealt with her emotions in a very unhealthy way. There is no other way to put it. She was harmful to herself and was going down a very bad path. Had Rhysand and Feyre not stopped her, she would have still been going down a bad path and never would have healed. Nesta has also been very mean and rude throughout the series. That’s just a fact. Was there a reason for it? Yes. But does that reason excuse her actions and the way she acted before she healed? No.

I don’t know what you mean regarding the Azriel and Elain part. People could easily read the books and imagine themselves as Elain if they wanted to. Maybe then they would see all the buildup she has with Azriel throughout four books and a bonus chapter. They just choose not to do that.

Feysand Week 2023 Day One: ✨Night Triumphant and Stars Eternal ✨

Seven days. That was how long she had until her precious little boy turned one year old. Seven days. And she had a feeling that her sanity would be completely drained by the time next Sunday rolled around.

Feyre hated planning parties. It was one of the things that kept nagging at her when becoming The Spring High Lord’s wife was still very much a possibility. Back then, she had an immortal future of pretty dresses, polite smiles, and fake conversations and had hated the prospect of being that trophy wife with every fiber of her being.

But she had come a long way from the fragile-minded and weak, underweight creature she had been then. This celebration was special – and she had probably set herself up for failure, but she was adamant about planning every single detail of Nyx’s first birthday party. 

They would have it at the House of Wind, as close to the night sky as they possibly could. Velaris itself would also be celebrating down below, for that little boy was hope impersonated, and there was yet to exist a faerie in the city that didn’t love and dote on Nyx. A few of them had been personally asked to attend the festivities, the invitations made of starlight.

With the help of Elain and the twins, she had mapped out all the foods and drinks that would be available as snacks for the party itself, but also for the formal sit-down dinner that was not only for their family but also for a few of the other high lords as well. Tamlin was, by default, not invited; she refrained from wondering if he would have said yes if had indeed mailed that particular letter. 

The cake and decorations would be of the night sky and stars. It might be bordering on cliche, but Nyx was the first baby to be born to a Night Court High Lord in centuries and Feyre hoped to be forgiven for the commonplace thought, but that baby was their tiny star. 

“You need to relax for a little bit, darling”. Rhysand’s voice reached her like a soft caress, her tiredness showing as she rubbed the sting from her eyes. 

He was fully behind her a second later, her back suddenly flush with his chest. Feyre sighed and let herself sink into the comfort and darkness of her love. 

“I know, but I still need to figure out the seating chart for the dinner. I don’t want to risk Beron actually coming and the only place he has to sit is beside Lucien. Or Helion.” Her mumble sounded too much like a whine to her own ears. “Why did we even send an invitation to the Autumn Court? It is bad decorum to retract it, isn’t it?”

The nameplates she was writing down had the sketch of a sitting chart beside them, crossed over many times as she played with who would sit next to whom. Sure they had some semblance of peace, for now; and Spring had been the only court not to get an invitation at all. Feyre had decided she liked Lucien’s mother and if this was an opportunity for her to see her son –and maybe Helion– then so be it. 

“I hope you know you don’t have to babysit our guests”. He murmured, picking up her hand and tugging her from the stool she sat at. 

She instantly wrapped her arms around him and hid her face in his neck. “Then who is going to babysit them?” 

Rhys chuckled at her grumble and held her close, his warm hand soothing her by traveling the expanse of her back, up and down and back again. 

“Let the others take care of anyone who might misbehave. It’s our son’s first birthday. The only person we should worry about is him and pray to the Cauldron that Mor doesn’t sneak him chocolate all day long.”

“Great. Now I’ll have to add that to my list of worries.” She laid her forehead on his shoulder and pinched his side, a comeback for mocking her. And damn him for adding to her ever-growing anxiety.

“Try not to worry about it, darling. Here, let me help you with this chart.” Rhysand let go of Feyre and peered over her work. He took three of the blank, black nameplates and the silver pen she used to write their guests’ names with. “These are the only nameplates we’re bothering with.” He spoke with a finality that made her shiver the slightest bit. She loved it when her mate made decisions and took care of her worries, in a way that was entirely welcome. 

The nameplates read Drop of Starlight and Stars Eternal. Lifting them up, he looked at her with a face-splitting grin. Feyre matched his smile with a bright one of her own. Incorrigible. But she’d be damned if she didn’t adore his playfulness.

In order: Beron killed Caelan. When in doubt of why a Vanserra might have died, the answer is literally always Beron. To consolidate power, to amuse, to punish disobedience, to stop other power rising in the Court.

Murder party, I love it! So, the big thing with the Hewn City- and the murder party/ Neris wedding ball going ahead- is that they want to keep Rhys the fuck out by any means necessary.

The big event goes ahead exactly as planned because they're all going to act like nothing has happened, to the outside world, all the while trying to figure out which rival/child/cousin finally took him out, and who is going to survive claiming his place. Everyone wants to know who killed Keir, but the throne being open matters just. SO MUCH MORE. It's scheming hell, and then, of course, ends in a total slaughter. Mor, the rightful inheritor all along, is getting that whole mountain, for good or ill.

Basically, Rhys is preemptively shunting some duties off on Nesta. (hi, I have eight hundred thoughts on how laughable it is to imagine feysand as good parents in any way). The baby IS NOT hers, or her heir, or anything, but he is under her protection. She's like...a fairy godmother. Magically bound to defend little Night Night. Rhys is trying to use Nesta as a threat to protect his own interests, again.

So cardinal to Cassian's canon characterization is this...messy self worth stuff, right? He maintains that he does not think less of himself, but he's still so, so obsessed with it and mired in something that happened at least four? five? hundred years previously that he's applying it to everything.

And he doesn't ever think he's wrong.

So Nesta, leaving him for a High Fae man? For a prince? For a future High Lord? Cassian regrets nothing because Cassian is too busy hating Nesta, thinking that's why it didn't work. He takes absolutely zero responsibility. It drives him fucking nuts, endlessly.

(Nesta and Eris in their underground plotting lair, pretending they're not checking each other out nonstop: No you get to kill my brother! No, baby, you do the murder!)

Basically, it's Autumn warfare time. Brother scary and Brother shitty both need to die, BUT they need to die at the correct time in conjunction with Beron's death, or the whole stealing the Court thing isn't going to work, and Neris are going to trap Lucien in a situation he doesn't want. They're ritual sacrifices.

If we're being honest, Neris are also The Grudge Couple, and there are some...slights they haven't forgotten that might be reckoned quite bloodily with.

I was going to wait to answer this in the morning because it's so daunting an ask. But I have to be in office tomorrow and I know I won't have the time, and then I'll forget about this. It's been a long time since anyone asked me my personal favorites.

I put some of them in yesterday's list of elucien recs, so definitely start here. I have to cross post a little, though. None of these are in order, this is actually not a ranking but the opposite of a ranking in which every one is incredible, and written by very wonderful people worth following.

playgirl, by @damedechance. I love this fic. Lucien has an only fans, Elain moderates his chat. She was the first gwynriel writer I ever read. You know I'm weird about Azriel- I don't really enjoy him, but in bookclub, her fic was being recommended CONSTANTLY and I gave it a shot thinking I'd hate it, and she made me insane. The gwynriel fic is Things You Can't Have, and I suggest reading it, too.

Latch, My Fate is Yours; Latch, My Very Soul is Yours by @labellefleur-sauvage. Elucien mummy au and so beautifully done. The author is also an VERY funny person and I recommend anything she writes (such as her 1920's Neris fic And All That Jazz) on vibes alone.

Our Bodies, Possessed By Light @iftheshoef1tz. Azris at its FINEST. If you like Azriel and Eris as a pairing, and you want something that is both achingly beautiful and well-plotted, this is it. This is the fic. Honestly, even if you don't want that, you should read it anyway. It's sexy, it's funny, it's emotional and it's poetic. I think about this fic (the cabin specifically because I'm slutty) all the time.

Crimson Clover, by @thesistersarcheron. Baby's first elriel fic, I heard the sentence "Elain covered in blood" and dropped everything I was doing to learn more. Elain is, in fact, covered in blood and Azriel is pretty insane about it. This author also has a fic bookclub is obsessed with, Viciousness & Intelligence which is Nesta x Cassian x Azriel in a poly bond and another of my personal favorites, Bejeweled in which Feyre is Night Court fae made entirely of jewels and Rhys is...well...down bad as he always is.

Embers, by @ultadverb is my favorite Morlain fic in the fandom. It's so richly written and such a good exploration of Elain and her feelings. She really does Elain such justice. I have it on VERY good authority she's also working on a little monster elucien, and right after I typed that I saw she's actually posted the first chapter, Seven Tears for the Sea, which is selkie Lucien, coastal Elain, I believe. I will be reading that for sure, just as soon as I finish this list, but everyone else should too!

I Believe the Word You're Looking for is "Friends" by @kingofsummer93. Truly Elucien 101 required reading. It's actually on the made-up syllabus I just created in my mind. If you're wanting to settle into a long fic, canon-compliant, adventure fic, THIS is it. Also, people are always asking for BOE smut, well she has so GRACIOUSLY provided it with The Intimacy of Being Understood

Remember, We're Madly In Love by @velidewrites. Have you ever seen one of those really gorgeous mood boards floating around and asked yourself, is that person also an incredibly sexy writer, too? Well I'm here to answer that question with a resounding YES. This is hunger games Feysand and if you've been thinking about reading it, stop thinking and start doing. I don't know when I became a sales person during this sharing of faves, but here we are I guess.

Vanserra Wildlife Rescue by @headcanonheadcase. In the haze that was elucien week, where everyone was creating and I was trying so hard to see all of it (and failing miserably), this fic was a gem. It's meet cute Elucien- he's a wildlife vet, she finds an injured fox. They're both on their way to a blind date (I wonder who they're meeting), and instead cancel to take care of the fox.

Can't Help It by @moodymelanist. This fic was literally why I decided to answer this anon. Nesta and Cassian are in a very toxic relationship but can't keep away from each other. I LOVE this fic, I love their dynamic and without spoiling it, there is a threesome I am still so deeply unwell about, even to this day.

Wonderland by @c-e-d-dreamer. The premise is SO GOOD. Nesta rejects the mating bond and Cassian rejects society. They reconnect later on, and the angst is SO DELICIOUS.

This list is getting really long- I could do this all day, actually. As for my top two @the-lonelybarricade favorites, which is cruel just fyi.

I mean Twisted Love is my least favorite of all the books (like very least) so I have to change many things of it to fit Elain and Lucien. Lucien is going to be so sassy and cocky (not like Alex who has a personality of a rock) and Elain is still a florist but ALSO a photographer. I'm pretty sure a modern AU Elain would be a great photographer as well!!

Twisted Games is my favorite out of all of them if I'm being honest. So Gwyn is a princess who likes to sing sometimes. She has a sister who's is about to be the future queen but is she? (yeah we're not killing Catrin in fact we give her a wife!!) and Azriel is her bodyguard.

Twisted Hate is my second Favorite and also the first book I read from this series (don't ask why I did that lmao). I always see Nesta in a modern au as lawyer!! She's studying and getting ready to become a lawyer. And Cassian is a sports massage therapist and a gym owner and happens to be her colleague and her trainer... he's a menace of course!!

Twisted Lies... well let me tell you the only reason I didn't liked this book as much as I wanted to, is Christian being so much like Alex but I liked the story in general and you can't tell me Stella and Christian doesn't give of Feysand vibes... Feyre has a art therapy degree and her dream is to open an studio but she's also a blogger on social media and tries to save money from their earnings but she has difficulty to reach a decent engagement. She also has a crazy stalker of an ex boyfriend that she still hasn't manged to get rid of (which is Tam/in). Rhysand is her landlord of the most secure apartment (she used to share it with Ressina, but now she's alone), and he's accepting the payment of her rent, which is way lower than the original price because she happens to be Nesta's sister who is his SIL and also Cassian's and Mor's BFF and you have to believe him that these are his only reasons... He has a security company and does other things as well... (and it's not illegal at all)

I mean as I go I'll defiantly add to the plot of each couple. But I'll start with Gwynriel because Twisted game was almost without any connection to the other books (and I love that book the most... and Gwynriel week is near) and from what I have in mind each one is going to be long lol

Lucien is a billionaire... cuz why not? Bat boys are adoptive brothers (Rhys' mother adopted Cass and Az) Azriel works for Rhysand but Cassian took a different road as you can see. Archeron sisters have a shaky relationship specially after their mother's death. Valkyries are bffs and went to collage together. Feyre, my baby, will go through it here as well. I'm not sure if I should keep Rhys' sister and mother alive and kill his father or kill them all... we'll see hehe

Also I feel like azriel is lowkey overhyped 🫣 don't get me wrong he's my second favourite bat boy, (1st is rhys obv) I was giggling and kicking my feet when he went to rescue elain and when he got angry in the high lords meeting. I love my dark broody men. But why are there more az fics than rhys/feysand fics 😭😭😭 also acosf is so bad.

Feysand Month Day 14: Family

Small bed, big family

Feysand has a problem: their bed gets to small for them.

Feyre just wanted to take a nap. A quick nap between the last painting lesson and the meeting she had in an hour. She didn't nap, no, it turned into a cleaning session of Feyres and Rhys's bedroom. She picked up a bunch of stuffed animals, child's clothes and a baby bottle that found its way under their bed at some point. The reason why she was cleaning was the same reason as why she wanted to take a nap: her children. They all slept here the last night. Or nights, she should say. Usually the kids slept in Feyres and Rhys's bed when they had nightmares and were scared to stay in their room alone. Though it turned into Nyx sleeping in their bed more often than not because he was already afraid of nightmares and neither Feyre nor Rhys had the heart to deny him that. Then their middle oldest child began noticing and wanted to stay with them, too. Again, they didn't have the heart to deny him that. And their youngest...Feyre just felt more relaxed if he was near. If she was with him as quick as possible when he woke up in the night and needed his parents.

It got cramped at night especially because Ares, their middle child, had the habit to take a lot of space in the bed as soon as he was fast asleep. It wasn't unusual that his little feet kicked Feyre and Rhys in the middle of the night.

She just put the last plushie in a purple toy box and then she looked at the bed. It was huge, that's what Feyre thought when she saw it first, at least. Now it seems incredibly small.

Feyre smiled at Rhys when he entered the room. "Do you want to take a nap?"

He grinned. "That was the plan. What are you doing?"

Feyre eyed the toys. "That was my plan, too, but I just cleaned all this stuff." she rattled the box. "It was necessary."

Rhys snorted. "I didn't realize that it was so much." he said, picking up a bat plushie. Nyx's.

Feyre smiled, still thinking about the bed situation.

"What are you thinking about?" Rhys asked softly.

She sighed. "We need a bigger bed!"

Rhys put down the stuffed animal and walked over to Feyre. He took her hands and smiled softly. "I don't think the bed is the problem, my love." he said quietly. She looked away from him, her shoulders slumping. As much as she hated it, Rhys was right and as much as she hated it, her eyes started burning when she realized.

He put his hand under her chin, turning her face up until she met his eyes. Her vision blurred through the tears. "They can still sleep here, Feyre darling. I am just saying that it might be time to get them used to their own beds."

"I know." she sniffled. "It's just-" she sighed and pressed her face into Rhys's chest. He put his arms around her waist, tugging her close and resting his chin on her head. "They are growing up so fast, Nyx was just a baby."

Rhys chuckled faintly. "Just imagine how proud you will be when he sleeps in his own room."

She sighed, stepping back and rubbing her eyes. "Alright."

"Alright?" he asked. Feyre smiled and echoed "Alright!"

Feyre stepped back and took a look at the dreamcatcher that she hung above Nyx's bed. Ressina tried herself at something new a while ago and started making them herself. After the conversation Feyre had with Rhys, she asked Ressina to teach her how she does it. It took a while until Feyre got it, but in the end she made a beautiful dreamcatcher for her son. She turned around, smiling at Nyx who stood behind her in his star pajamas, looking up at the dreamcatcher. "What is that?" Nyx asked.

"A dreamcatcher." Feyre explained. "It keeps away all the nightmares. Only the good dreams come through." Nyx looked at her, unsure what to make of this. "Why can't I stay with you and daddy?"

Feyre sat down and gestured Nyx to come closer. When he stood before her, she picked him up and set him on her lap. "You squabbled with Ares the whole time last night. It wasn't comfortable for you, right?" he shook his head. "See? You're both tired because you couldn't sleep well." Feyre explained quietly. "Isn't it so cool that you have your own bed?"

Nyx leaned into her and she brushed the hair out of his face. "What if I still have a nightmare?" he whispered.

Feyre hugged him tighter and whispered back "Then you call daddy and me and we will come to you as fast as the wind."

"Can't I come to you?" he asked.

"Of course you can." Feyre replied, starting to rock him lightly.

"You promise?"

"I promise." Feyre said and pressed a kiss on his forehead.

It was quiet for a while and Feyre almost thought he was asleep until Nyx spoke again. "Daddy sometimes tells me stories about a brave princess who faces monsters without fear." he said sleepily.

Feyre smiled "He does?"

Nyx nodded faintly and said "She reminds me of you."
