All of the creators involved are trans, nonbinary, and/or genderqueer, and it provides a collective vision for a gender-inclusive future by answering the question: What might gender look like fifty years from now?
We're open for preorders via Kickstarter right now! This Kickstarter is our sole method of taking orders for both the print ($12) and ebook ($5) versions of the zine, so if you want a copy, you have until June 21 to order one.

Celebrating Trans Voices: My Fave Reads for the Trans Rights Readathon!
Hi everyone! I’m excited to share the Trans Rights Readathon, which I discovered on an amazing YouTube video.
youtube
This is an excellent opportunity to support trans individuals and their stories. I want to highlight the fantastic people advocating for trans rights and share some of my favorite trans and nonbinary book recommendations. If you wish to uplift trans voices and explore their stories, this list is a great start!
Here are some of my top book picks that you should check out:
- *If I Was Your Girl* by Meredith Russo – a touching story about identity and love.
- *Uncomfortable Labels* by Laura Kate Dale – a straightforward memoir about being a trans person.
- *Pageboy* by Elliot Page – a strong narrative about personal truth.
- Any book by F.T. Luken (a talented nonbinary author) – each book explores themes of identity, even if not all have trans characters!
- *How to Bare Your Neck and Save a Wreck* by D.N. Bryn – the third book in a fun series about dating vampires, featuring queer characters, with the third book having a T4T relationship.
- *I Wish You All the Best* by Mason Deaver – tells the story of a nonbinary main character navigating life and love.
- *A Psalm for the Wild-Built* – a beautifully written story about a nonbinary monk and a robot searching for the meaning of life.
Let’s uplift trans voices and celebrate these incredible stories together! For more resources, visit the official Trans Rights Readathon website at https://transrightsreadathon.carrd.co/. If you want to get involved, sign up at https://actionnetwork.org/forms/2025.

#novellanovember continues with The Ascent to Godhood by J.Y. Yang. I felt like I *finally* got what Yang was going with their Tensorate books this time around — in that they are interconnected novellas more than they are a series, but now I tragically find out that this is the last one? I enjoyed these books far more than I expected to, and would recommend every single one of them. And that cover art! Completely amazing! If genderqueer Asian fantasy sounds like your cup of tea, you absolutely must pick these up. . . #novellasinnovember #jyyang #theascenttogodhood #tensorateseries #asianfantasy #asianfantasybooks #nonbinaryauthor #lgbtqia #lgbtq🌈 #sff #booknerd #booklove https://www.instagram.com/p/B5BlHsZgGz8/?igshid=1ktbu8pyq5mla

last week to order the zine!
This is the last week for people to order a copy of Inclusive Future Magazine: Visions from a Gender-Inclusive Future! Our campaign ends at 8:55pm Pacific time on Friday, June 21st.
We’re super pleased with how this campaign is going, and we’re only a couple hundred away from reaching our second stretch goal of $1400, at which point all backers with physical rewards will receive a free art card of the cover art, and backers with digital rewards will have the option of ordering an art card as an add-on for the cost of postage.
We'd really love to hit that second stretch goal! Hitting that goal will allow us to fully cover to cost of printing and shipping the zine, without having to pay anything out of our own pockets.
Learn more about the zine and find links to support in our pinned post :)

Meet Al Hess, the artist who painted this gorgeous painting that will accompany Stefany Z's article "ReMake Yourself"

Al Hess (he/him) is author of World Running Down, Key Lime Sky, Yours Celestially, and the award-winning Hep Cats of Boise series. He does portraits in both pencil and oil paint, and loves drawing fellow authors' characters nearly as much as his own. He writes cozy and uplifting stories with queer, trans, and neurodiverse representation. Visit his website at alhessauthor.com and find him on instagram @alhess_author.

What was your inspiration for this painting?
I'm very into art deco aesthetics, so I wanted to imagine a non-binary person in a leadership role who embodied this fashion with a futuristic twist.

Anything else to add?
My next book, Key Lime Sky, comes out August 2024. It's a cozy and romantic small town alien invasion story with a non-binary, autistic, and part Indigenous main character and full of trippy weirdness, found family, and pie!
To find out more about the striking subject of Al's painting- 2068's up and coming fashion-designer, Isi Hatent -preorder our zine on Kickstarter!

What inspired "Restore Revive Reciprocate"?
The cover image!

Coming from a future where anybody can grow their own DIY pharmaceuticals, this instructional article will show you how to grow them at home! Meet P.S.C Willis, author of "My Mechsuit is an Anti-Capitalist Machine: An Interview with Scrapyard Smackdown 2068 Champion, Nez Nebula"
P.S.C. Willis (they/them) is a queer British writer, currently living in Shanghai where they are an active member of the writing and drag communities. They write everything from flash fiction to novel length and like their stories to inspire belief in good people, in magic, or both. P has been published in the anthology And Lately, the Sun and in DreamForge Magazine. Follow them on Twitter/X @psc_willis.

What inspired "My Mechsuit is an Anti-Capitalist Machine"?
A love of performance and a fascination with body modification and the types of tech I wish could exist, and then working out what alternative societies could arise around that.
You can read P's article - a profile of the latest champion of an underground robot-battle championship born out of the communities of "scrappers" squatting in mega-corporations' scrapyards - on our website. If you like it, you'll LOVE the full zine it's part of! Pre-order it on our Kickstarter!

PROGRESS UPDATE: New reward unlocked!

As of the writing of this, 60 backers so far have pledged $1,088 to our Kickstarter campaign. THANK YOU! Our first stretch goal has been surpassed, which means that all backers will receive a phone wallpaper! WOOT!
Our dream is to get Inclusive Future Magazine into at least 100 different hands… that’s the reasoning behind the $1400 stretch goal. And we’re only $312 away from that dream!
Your mission this week, should you choose to accept it, is to tell at least one person why you’re excited about Inclusive Future Magazine: Visions from a Gender-Inclusive Future. If they seem interested, let them know preorders are open on Kickstarter until June 21, so if they want a copy of their own, they’ll have to back before then.

Meet Ryan Breadinc, author of "HologramU: How Gender Dysphoria Created a Scientific Revolution"
Ryan Breadinc (he/him) writes for comics, short stories and all sorts of colourful creative projects that catch the wandering eye. Many of his projects include an ‘inclusive future’ of some kind – after all, we all deserve a story. Find the man in Bunbury, Western Australia, or online, rambling. Visit his website at breadincbooks.com or follow him on Instagram and Twitter/X @breadincbooks.
What inspired "HologramU"?
When I was young, the biggest issue I faced was judging my own physical appearance - and being misgendered in public. Looking at the idea of a more inclusive future, I started thinking about what would have made a difference to both that young me and the one that exists in the present, and the idea of HologramU manifested. I loved the idea of Martine, a young trans women in STEM facing these same issues and using it as a way to contribute positively to the world around her.
You can read Ryan's piece - an interview with inventor Martine Ramirez, the creator of a new holographic technology that allows you to leave your house in the form you choose - on our website. If you like it, you'll LOVE the full zine it's part of! Pre-order it on Kickstarter!

Meet Naomi Norbez, author of "Unbreakable Butch: An Interview with Grita Jennifer"
Naomi Norbez (he/they/e; call him Bez) is a game developer and writer whose goal in life is to create meaningful art. He does this by creating interactive fiction, telling stories, and writing too much fanfic. But it's all for a good cause! View his creator page on itch.io at norbez.itch.io and follow him on Twitter @NaomiNorbez.

What inspired "Unbreakable Butch"?
Thinking about a future without religion-driven homophobia.
Anything else to add?
If you liked this story, please consider checking out my new game, Time Quest for Fudgers!
Bez's piece was one of our first submissions, and the moment we set eyes on it, we knew we had to publish it. This interview with a movie star comes from a future where all genders and sexualities are accepted--even in religious communities. You can read it on website. And if you like it, you'll LOVE the full zine it's part of! Pre-order it now on Kickstarter!

They love cats, bright colors, D&D, cooking, and space exploration. Their art focuses on queer themes and self-acceptance, and their multicultural background (being south-east Asian and European) allows them to see social issues from various points of view. You can find them on Instagram @liasis_d and on Twitter/X @Liasis_D.

Meet Stephen Granade, author of "Sliders Aren't for Gender"

Stephen Granade (they/he) is a physicist and writer from Huntsville, Alabama. Their stories have appeared in Strange Horizons, Escape Pod, and Baffling Magazine. They’re the co-editor of Small Wonders, a SFF flash fiction and poetry magazine. Their game, Professor of Magical Studies, is available from Choice of Games. Visit their website at stephen.granades.com, follow them on Bluesky @granades.com or on Twitter/X @sargent.

What inspired "Sliders Aren't for Gender"?
I don't like how lots of people who get real excited about transhumanism and uploaded humans gloss past gender, race, and class, by which they mean that everything will be viewed through a default White, straight, cis, mostly-male lens. I wanted to try my hand at writing an uploaded humans story that didn't fit in that. Plus I did my time in academia and I love writing fiction in that mode.
Anything else to add?
My story, "The Jaxicans' Authentic Reconstruction of Taco Tuesday #37," is out in Strange Horizons. I'm also the co-editor of Small Wonders, a SFF magazine for flash fiction and poetry.
Pre-order our zine on Kickstarter to read Stephen's article, which explores the relationship that the world's first digital humans have with gender. It's so good.
