Hiya I am also an adult that has a hard time making friends! Most of the people I would consider friends are just kinda people I talked to and they seemed interested enough for me to just never leave them alone and it kinda became a friendship. That being said it's really only one I hang out with? I don't think it's something you should be embarrassed about, I think it's just harder for some people to make close friends like that! Luckily I'm comfortable doing things by myself (with some anxiety and overthinging sometimes) which helps a lot so then I don't feel like I'm missing out on other things! But I know that can be quite hard for some! Those little events are good places to meet other people who have similar already established interests to you as well! So you might make a friend there or at least start a friendship!

Yeah I do have some people at work that I could say are my “friends” but is hard to hang out with them bc they’re all either dating or married and I’m the only one single (ofc) so it’s kinda hard to because all they do is couple things and I would definitely feel alone at some point…. So we never got to make it actually happen…. (And I also just recently discovered they used to had a group chat without me so yeah 🤷🏻‍♀️)

I also REALLY enjoy some alone time so its not always hard to me the fact that I don’t actually have friends but sometimes it just hits me that I have no one to call to hang out … and hanging out alone it’s something that I can’t do because I have a really hard social anxiety.. and I don’t work well alone in public… which also makes super difficult for me to make new friends…
