Cabbage is gonna be 2 years old this March!! I wasn't able to celebrate his first bday because I was in an unstable living situation but now I'm in a better living environment and can celebrate!!!

With that said, does anyone else here celebrate their comfort plushie's birthdays? If so, what do you do? I'm just trying to figure out ideas before the big day

Hi I'm having like 50 conflicting feelings at once and I'd like an outside perspective (tldr at the end don't worry)

So we had the neighbor's kid over today. This kid is super nice and he's great, but he's also 5 which means he's pretty hyper, but he was especially hyper today cause he went to the arcade with another family member (who lives with us) besides my parent.

He had a balloon pickaxe and he was hitting stuff with it (including Cabbage) and when I reminded him to not hit Cabbage or the cat tree he was sitting on, the family member who brought him was like "it's just a toy he won't hurt anything". Obviously I didn't snap at the kid nor did I get snippy with the family member, but it made me super uncomfy at the fact that he was being encouraged to hit something that wasn't his. I almost started crying and I still feel kinda shitty about it a few hours later.

I know that to most people, Cabbage is just a plushie, and I get that. But it's still hard to stop myself from being upset when people touch or squish him or hit him without my consent. But on the other hand I did have him in a place outside my room as him being in my room when I'm not makes me upset so I should've kept him in my room since I knew this kid was here.

TL;DR: I get very uncomfortable when people touch my emotional support plushie without my permission. Am I overreacting or do other people with comfort stuffies not like when their stuffie is being touched without their permission?
