#not only did he believe felix killed marinette along with everyone else
Note
That Argos and Chat Blanc photo makes me wonder how Felix would handle Chat Blanc.
More over, how quickly would he react if Felix lived and his Lady didn't somehow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
considering how adrien acted in emotion when felix thanos snapped everyone out of existence including maribug, i'd say he wouldn't take it well at all.
we'd probably end up with a feral chat blanc trying to get rid of felix while akumatized, & felix outwitting him at every turn while trying desperately to find a way to save him. felix knows when he's gone too far and that indicator is when adrien gets pissed.

Graveyard Siblings (4)
I am sorry for not posting in a while. School is a total bitch. Here is part 4 of a fic that is not a fic.
[Masterlist]
(Part 1)(Part 2)(Part 3)
-------
Tall Marinette.(I admit I might be projecting a little here.)
One day, she took out something from someplace high and the whole family realized that ‘holy shit when did you get so tall?’
Bonus if Jason comes back from a long mission and had a wtf moment because she was wearing 6-inch-heels and met his eyes with them on.
“Pixie?!”
------
You know how Bruce has the identity of Matches Malone to infiltrate the Gotham Underground.
While Jason does the drug deals more street crime stuff, Maria uses an excuse of being the representative for Red Hood excuse to mingle with the rich people who does crime on the side (Penguin), she uses it to go to black market auctions and buy some of the lost miraculouses which got into the hands of black market dealers.
Jason knows about it and acts as her ‘bodyguard’ anytime he can or sends one of his henchmen to be one with a death threat if she gets a single scratch on her.
Bruce is unaware of this. Or is he?
------
Mari helps with running WE since she is a little less busy with the vigilante side of things.
It started with Tim panicking about deadlines and Mari offering to help, to Bruce and Tim bullying the board to have her as co-CEO.
She has to be that and head of Afterlife. So she is very busy. Doesn’t know about what comes next….
------
Somehow the class comes to Gotham for a trip. It has been 3 years since her death.
Mari has changed her appearance since the day she left Paris. She has highlights in her hair after a ‘sibling bonding day’ with Jason. Her hair is kept short for convenience and not in pigtails. Along with her tall height and more confident aura, she is almost unrecognizable.
She rides a motorcycle too.
The class waits in the lobby for the tour and in walks this badass woman with aviator sunglasses, leather jacket and designer clothes which was all MT brand, making a lot of people swoon.
She takes off her glasses and walks past the class. Checking stuff on her phone and sipping coffee in her other hand.
She seems familiar but they couldn’t figure out why. (All except Chloe, Alix and Felix who are snickering in the background.)
Lila sees her and comments on how she must be a criminal with the way she dresses. (Lila internally freaks out because were her eyes messing with her? Because she looked a little like Marinette. Also jealous of the new arrival for stealing all the attention.) Alya takes the bait and calls security to ‘arrest’ her.
They just laugh. The class doesn’t understand, speaking in confused French.
-------------
“I am Maria Todd-Wayne, also known as designer MT. CEO of Afterlife and co-CEO of the very company you are in. I am allowed in here. Don’t judge a book by its cover.” she said in perfect French.
“But Lila told us you can’t speak French.”
“Who?”
“Lila Rossi, your friend. She told us that you and MT were dating.”
“Me dating myself. Okay I love myself because self-love is a thing but that is a whole other level. MT are my initials. Anyone who has a brain could have figured that out or at the very least do a Google search. I am not sure where your friend got that notion.”
“Hey, Bean, come on. We have a long day ahead of us.” Tim reminded her.
“Goodbye but cease the rumours or you would be escorted off the premises.”
As they rode up the elevator, “Tim, why are they here?”
“They are the lucky winners of the Wayne Enterprise Young Prodigies Contest. Why, Maria?”
“Lucky, huh.” She muttered under her breath. She might as well tell him. They are the Bats and they will find out anyway. “They are from my old class, the one you know…”
“Oh. Want me to send them back? I can do that if they are making you uncomfortable.”
“Nah. Too much to deal with. And it is unfair to send them back over a petty grudge. Besides, I could have some fun.”
“Anything that Bruce and I should be worried about?”
“I swear no killing. Just because Jason came back from the dead, hell-bent on killing. Doesn’t mean I am too.”
“Cool, just don’t do any property damage or traumatize our employees.”
“I might need you to erase some footage later and tell Bruce about this.”
“Some brownies, my favourite coffee cake, the ‘special’ brew and you have yourself a deal.”
-----
So basically she just showed up around where the class was ‘by coincidence’.
Talk to a few people and take them out of earshot of the rest of the class.
End the conversation by saying a few things only they and her would know. Insides jokes and secrets. (I pick her old childhood friends like, Nino, Kim and maybe Sabrina)
Uses Trixx to turn into a walking dead version of her 15-year old self and disappears as they freak out about how she knew that secret/story.
Freaks them out further by appearing again in front of the whole class and pretending not to know their previous conversation.
Mari manages to get Lila alone.
I should also say that Lila thought that her curse was making her see MT as Marinette.
It terrifies Lila when she finds out that MT is actually Marinette, not dead but alive after all this time and apparently living the high life she wanted. This fact made the Italian swell up with jealousy.
“I hope you are not lying about me again, Lila Rossi. Like you always do.”
“What do you want with me? I swear I didn’t say anything else about you.”
“Aw, Lila. Don’t recognize me?”
Maria flickers and Ladybug is in her place and later, the Marinette that appeared in her bedroom and back to normal.
“You! How? Why are you here? Why can’t you leave me alone?”
“Why not? I mean you did take away nearly all my friends, my parents and made my life a living hell. If you think about it, I am just repaying you the same favor. How are the others? Treating you well?”
“What did you do to me, you bitch?”
“I just put a curse on you. The ghosts of your past will haunt you until you stop.”
“Stop what?”
“Stop Lying, Liar. They all feed and grow in power from your lies. I wonder what would happen in a few years if you kept this up.”
“You think you can get away with this. This is war and I have already beaten you once.”
“Oh Rossi. This isn’t a war. It’s a death sentence.” With that she disappears.
Lila tries to tell her class that MT is actually Marinette. She is met with crazy looks. Some of them look like they want to believe her but don't because they don’t want to look crazy too.
Oh. Adrien wasn’t on the trip because his mother didn’t want him to go to the crime capital of America although the crime rate has gone down a little due to Hellbat curing some of the city’s bad energy..
Right after Lila told the class about MT, Scarecrow came to steal some Wayne tech and the class got caught in the crossfire. So later, it was brushed off as Lila seeing things due to the fear toxins.
-----
Joker made the mistake of kidnapping her. Once was enough to never try that again.
(It involved the use of nearly all of the Miraculouses, old and new. He was thoroughly humiliated at the end of it and his picture by the time Hellbat was done with him was on the Batfam’s Christmas Card. Like I said she doesn’t kill but making them beg for death was okay.)
It coincided with Jason’s Birthday and the video of the incident was ‘the best birthday present ever.’ The uncensored version was watched at the next undead siblings bonding day. Damian included.
After hearing a few rumours about what happened, most criminals were glad for Hellbat’s rare appearances. (which happens once a month and during really busy time of the year)
There was a time where Penguin was carrying out one of their plans and when Hellbat showed up, all of their thugs surrendered instantly. (No Batman did not pout at the fact that this French girl was more imitating than him.)
Scarecrow used his newest batch of fear toxin on her during the first year after she died.
He was astounded to see her still standing and she later proceeded to beat the crap out of him while being under the toxin’s influences.
He has tried to stay out of her way since then.
She saw Scarecrow as Hawkmoth and said a lot of things in French which scared everyone because she said it with so much hate, anger and in a very menacing tone that everyone is like ‘I am not touching this.’
It took Red Hood and Nightwing to restrain her from further beating Scarecrow up.
He was one of the people who sympathised with the Joker after the Incident.
The next was Riddler being so arrogant in his plans and managed to get Hellbat and Spoiler into a death trap.
“You know I have a few regrets in life. And my final one is that I got captured and am now going to get killed by a walking fashion disaster.”
“Hey! I made this myself. I will have, you know.”
“You have a brilliant mind but no sense of fashion at all. When I get out of here, I am going to burn that thing with you in it, for your crimes against fashion.”
“What is wrong with it?”
Cue a lot of roasting of Riddler’s costume and Spoiler adding more fuel to the fire.
They manage to escape while Riddler is crying on the floor, having an existential crisis.
The thing was no one knows why Riddler was silent the entire week after encountering Hellbat and crying when anyone mentions it.
They now think Hellbat is the scariest one in the Batfamily, second to Batman and tied with Black Bat/Orphan.
The few who find out what really happened in the warehouse that night. Blackmail material on the Riddler.
Three ( four if you count Penguin) of Gotham’s biggest villains of the Rogues Gallery scared of Bats’ newest addition. Hellbat was not someone they wanted to mess with.
---------
Magic crisis stuff. Like a world ending event thing. Dr. Fate says they need the Miraculous jewels but the last mention of them had been in Paris a few years ago and had vanished since then.
Costantine looked at Batman. “You know who you have to call.”
Batman calls Hellbat. Who hasn’t been introduced yet to the JL.
“Ah. Bats. Not that I question your authority or anything but how can your newest ‘ward’ help us?”
She takes off her helmet and reveals her face and more importantly, her earrings.
Tikki comes out of her hiding place.
“I am the current Guardian of the Miracle Box and wielder of the Ladybug miraculous during Hawkmoth’s reign in Paris a few years ago. Any other Questions?”
“Oh great Guardian. Tikki. It is an honour to meet you.”-Wonder Woman, who else.
“You too, Princess Diana. Pass on my regards to your mother.”-Tikki
A huge face-off and the big evil is defeated.
WW asks abt HM and gives a horrified face at the end of her story. Nearly everyone who eavesdropped on the conversation was.
"Forgive me, Guardian for not aiding you in your hour of need.”
“It’s okay. I understand that there are other crises, world-ending ones that JL have to take care of. I am better now. Mostly.”
“I doubt it with those revenge schemes I found lying around. But she is getting there with her therapist.”-Batman
“I hate you, Dad.”
“Did you just call him Dad?”
“No….”
“Do you see me as a father figure?”
“I see you as a nuisance with how nosy you are with my personal business. So you are more of a bother figure.”
“I see you as part of the family too, Daughter.” (Got that reference anyone?)
“Jason was the one who adopted me.”
“Legally you are adopted by me.”
Maria with Pikachu surprised face because nobody told her that. “My life is a lie.”

Moonlight trap
Felinette, Felix/Marinette
Part 7. F*ck-mary-kill
“Hey, girl, what is happening with you today?” Alya asked when they came to Marinette’s room the next day after dinner.
Her friends and her were mostly relaxing on the sea today, but she didn’t see Felix since the previous night.
Which from one side was giving her time to process her feelings, but from another didn’t, because without actually seeing him, Marinette couldn’t figure if it was just in her head or between them.
And what about Adrien? Like someone turned a switch, and Marinette was fine to be next to him in the company of her friends. But was it her becoming brave with Adrien, or her surrendering her feelings for him?
“You almost didn’t say a word the whole day. So thoughtful and mysterious. Are you still upset because of your little fight with the evil twin?” Alya narrowed her eyes at Marinette. “What had even happened between you two? You nearly drowned yesterday. I mean, he is a jerk and all, but safety is first!”
“Says the one who runs with a camera after akumas.” Marinette commented, trying to give Alya another topic to discuss, but it didn’t really work.
“Yeah, well.” Alya smirked. “So spill it, girl, what’s up?”
“It’s nothing really.” Marinette lied. She wasn’t ready to tell the whole moonlight-dates story to her friend yet. “He just irritates me. It’s not even about him, you know?” Marinette sighed, she wasn’t sure what was the truth anymore. “Chloe’s here, and then Felix comes, and Adrien is obviously still in love with whomever he was before... I just thought, the time had passed, and he was along now, and...”
“Whoa whoa whoa, girl!” Alya waved her hand in the air. “You didn’t really believe that lying bastard, did you? He could say it just to...”
“Alya. Didn’t you see how Adrien reacted?!” For some reason Marinette found herself angry with her friend more because she was insulting Felix, — even he, probably, deserved it, — then because of Adrien liking somebody else. Perhaps she had already accepted this fact at some point. “It’s obvious that Felix was saying the truth this time. It’s not like he always lies, you know.”
“Peeeeelease.” Alya made a skeptical grimace. “Even when he says the truth, I’m sure, he only does it if it works in his favor.”
“I don’t know, Alya.” Marinette looked away. “I think he isn’t that simple. You can’t assume things like that without even knowing him.” Marinette’s face was thoughtful and dreamy. “I think he might be much deeper than he seems, or wants to show.”
Alya narrowed her eyes again, and gave her friend a long-studying look. “I can’t believe it, Mari!” She exclaimed. “Are you kidding me?!”
“Believe what?” Marinette woke up from her spacing out into the memory condition.
“Are you actually crushing on Mr. pretend-to-be-Adrien-and-akumatize-his-classmates?!” Alya was looking at her with wide open eyes.
“What are you talking about?” Marinette protested. “Why would you even think that?! Just because I said he didn’t lie this one time, it doesn’t mean that I like him!”
“Don’t worry girl.” Alya nodded knowingly with a sly smirk that made Marinette do exactly that — worrying. “I’ve got you.” She said and seemed to be in her own world of scheming already. “There is one proven tool to clarify what you really feel.” She said and stood up. “Come join me in a living room in ten minutes.”
And she left.
*
When Marinette came, everyone was already sitting in a circle on the soft rug. Even Chloe.
Even Felix.
‘How can this girl convince people to do, what she wants them to do, just like that?’ Marinette thought.
“Come, girl, we’re about to start!” Alya called for her.
There was only one free space in the circle — between Alya and Felix, so Marinette sat there and pressed her knees to her chest.
She immediately felt some nervous excitement and this weird feeling again, as if her skin was all tuned to follow Felix’s movements.
She didn’t remember to have the same feeling with Adrien. Maybe it was just because Marinette was usually spying on him during the photoshoots with her eyes, so her body didn’t need any additional type of perception.
Marinette found Adrien, sitting in front of her in the circle. Since when did she stop searching for him the first thing while entering the room? This new perceptions and emotions were... well, new.
“So, the rules are simple you all know them, so let’s just start.” Alya announced. “Chloe, you are first. For you there are Ladybug, me and Adrien.”
“I was gonna ask why do I have to start, but this is too good.” Chloe smirked. “So I can even get revenge on you for making me doing it. So, I obviously kill you, Cesaire. Hmmmm. I’ll mary Ladybug, sorry Adrikins, but she comes first! But I’ll f*ck you before that.” Chloe began to laugh on her own joke.
“Ok. Adrien.” Alya said. “Uhh... For you there are Chat Noir, Nino, and Mari.”
“I... uhhh, kill Chat Noir. Adrien said. “Ladybug will bring him back, so...” The nervous laughter escaped his lips. “I mary Nino.”
“Bro!” Nino cheered at him in support.
“Bro!” Adrien smiled at him. “And uhhh... I f*ck Mari?”
Marinette found herself less excited with the idea of having sex with Adrien then she would expect herself to be. Maybe it was because she’d prefer him to choose marry her, like it happened in her dreams. Or maybe because even the choice to f*ck her, the way he said it, sounded like a question. It was as if he didn’t want to even say it, or was he just shy?
They were 17 now — the age of first sexual experiences. Which could mean those words said in theory, could become true for any of them. So was it so impossible for Adrien to imagine them together?
Alya was right. This game made her rethink Adrien and her own obsession of him. Did she even ever have a chance with him?
But the game wasn’t over yet.
“Good for you, Agreste.” Alya said. “Even you must have known that Nino’s mine anyway, so no chance there. And Mari isn’t a girl for one night, so you had just lost your chance to mary the sweetest girl alive.” Though she sounded like she was joking, Marinette felt some truthful symbolism in her words. “So, anyway.” Alya turned to her. “Mari, for you there are Chloe, Felix and Shadow Moth.”
Marinette blinked at her friend with a really-Alya-?! expression on her face.
“Fine.” She sighed finally. “I obviously kill Shadow Moth. I... ummm...” She couldn’t marry Felix! It still sounded wrong to think about anyone else except for Adrien in these terms. Or was she lying to herself again?.. But it was better to go with an absurd situation anyway. “I mary Chloe... and... umm...” And she found herself trapped with her last choice. Was Alya scheming on her as well?!” I... uhhh... I f*ck Felix.” Marinette said, with every word sounding quieter and quieter, and swallowed.
Marinette was looking down at her knees, feeling her face burning. She remembered the way his skin felt under her touch, and felt her body tensed with awareness of Felix’s presence next to her.
At the corner of her eye she saw the way Felix’s hand tightened and his fingers dug into his thigh where they were resting. Did he get so angry at the idea of being intimate with her? Was it really so unpleasant for all the men of this family?!
“That’s my girl!” Alya picked up. “So, Felix, for you there are Queen Bee, Marinette and...”
“This is a stupid game!” Felix said and got up. He went towards the bedrooms without saying another word.
“Hey, Felikins!” Chloe called after him in an indignant voice. “That wasn’t fair!”
Alya was smiling. Marinette was slightly shaking. Felix was pissed. Adrien seemed deep in thought. Chloe looked annoyed. Nino wasn’t sure what was happening.
It looked like a perfect evening this far.
*
Felix slammed the door closed and fell on the bed with his face down. When did he stop controlling his emotions?! And why?
In the grotto among crystals in dim artificial lighting Marinette’s face was as mesmerizing as that night on the beach, and Felix forgot himself for a few minutes, admiring her.
It wasn’t his fold! She was just sitting right in front of him and naturally fell into his field of vision. Or could it be considered his fold that the light fell so well on her, illuminating her soft features?..
Then she suddenly looked at him and Felix woke up and reminded to himself, that the mysterious girl didn’t exist, only his cousin’s fan-girl did.
Felix was so angry with himself for allowing a couple of spotlights and an old cave to unsettle his perception, that when Marinette talked to him in the boat, — and even reminded him again how open he was that night, not realizing his mistake, — that he answered her rudely. And then got even more angry and almost knocked over the boat.
Later that day Felix decided he was too rude to her, as it was his own fold that he invented fairy tales about a wonderful stranger to himself.
Normally Adrien’s upset friend wouldn’t trouble his mind and conscience, but he couldn’t get this one out of his head.
That is why when he went to get some water from the kitchen that night and saw Marinette leaving the house, Felix followed her.
He wasn’t really sure why he was doing it, he wasn’t even sure what exactly was that what he was doing.
Maybe following her was becoming a habit?

Finding your soulmate an in unexpected place- Lukadrien June Day 11
I finished it, I didn’t think I would but I suddenly thought of a Host AU from Stephaine Meyer and deiced to try and fit it in here. I move tomorrow so between working, I was trying to finish this. I hope you like it. Heads up, there is a warning as there’s mention of violence in trying to kill, an unnamed person dying and I guess the general violent stuff The Host had. Soulmate
Adrien held tight to the control he had on his body. He didn’t need Felix pulling another Kim incident, not with Lila glaring at him and muttering comments he could hear.
“Either shut up and serve us or get lost.” Luka snapped, clearly getting annoyed. “Not that you ever lift a finger unless ordered or ever do a good job anyway.”
She let out a huff and dropped the serving spoon, storming off. The other people in the line just let out a groan, a few mentioning how Fu was gonna throw her to other sections for her to work.
“You didn’t have to do that.” Adrien said, taking a plate from Luka, since he insisted on holding them both.
Using his free hand to serve themselves, Luka pointed out, “Did you want Felix to say something? I could tell you were holding hard to keep him from taking over.”
“Would have still been hilarious if how he went off on Kim was any indication.” Someone behind him said.
While it did prove to the rest of the group that Felix was still in his body, the constant grapple the two had when Felix decided to insult Kim back, when he blocked Adrien and started yelling at him being a parasite had been embarrassing overall. With Felix throwing scathing comments and Adrien apologizing a second later or begging Felix to stop, it wasn’t something he wanted to relive.
Hey, the asshole deserved it! Felix yelled in his head, his sudden volume causing Adrien to flinch. And she deserves a few scathing remarks, see how she likes it.
“Please stop.” Adrien muttered.
“Being loud again?” Luka asked, leading them to a free seat by Marc and Nathanial.
“And rude.”
It’s not rude if it’s true. But fine, I’ll behave.
Adrien doubted it would last long but kept his mouth shut. Marc and Nath had their noses in their respective books, being writer and artist respectively. Their jobs might have disappeared once the Souls landed on their planet but with Adrien helping with supply runs because of him being a Soul, they were able to restock on their items and get back into it. Rarely were the couple seen without a note book and pencil.
“Oh, Adrien, I had a question.” Marc asked, realising the two were there halfway through their meal.
“I can’t tell you the rest of the story again.” Adrien said, assuming what Marc would ask. Along with helping with supply runs, he was also teaching those interested about the different plants since the Souls had gone to – Invaded – at least 15 other planets and Adrien had been to most of them. Marc had gotten curious and bugged Adrien to finish one of his stories, which later upset some of the others. Felix said it was like when you watch ahead of a show, you’re watching with someone. Adrien didn’t get it, but he also didn’t want to upset anyone again.
“No, not that. Tempting, but not that. I was wondering if Souls believe in the idea of soulmates?”
“Soulmates? Are they a species?”
“More important,” Luka interrupted, “why were you thinking of that?”
“Well, I was trying to think of things I did before you know, things happened, with the writing community. Challenges I guess to get me back into it. One of them was listing all the troupes you like by ranking and I remembered that soulmates was one of my tops. I’m sure you can understand why I don’t fully love the idea, but it made me think. Do you guys have soulmates?”
Adrien looked at Luka, still not fully getting it.
“Basically, soulmates are people who are your perfect match. When people say they’re in love, they say they’ve found their perfect match, the one person they can’t live without.”
“So a lifemate? The Bears had that, and the Flowers.”
“Yes, basically that. Do Souls have mates?” Marc asked.
Adrien shrugged. “Not really. We only really ever encountered it with the Bears and Flowers. The practise was kept. Though, there have been times where two Souls find each other and have this instant connection, but it’s so rare. At most it’s like here, they find someone and stay with them. it’s not a decision we take lightly.”
“So no breakups. There’ve been times where it’s been pointed out that just because 2 people are soulmates, doesn’t mean they’re right for each other.”
“No, no break ups.”
“Huh, maybe soulmates aren’t bad after all.” Marc said.
“Don’t let Lila and her band of followers hear you say that. Come on, we have to help with laundry.” Nath reminded, getting up. “We’ll see you two later.”
With the two gone, Adrien focused on his food, knowing he’d need the energy for supply check he and Luka had to do after this.
“I have a question.” Luka asked, after draining his cup. “Don’t take this the wrong way, but say a Bear has a mate and then it has a Soul placed into it. What happens to its mate? The Bear’s mate?”
“It has the Soul’s mate placed into it. The idea of lifemates is something we Souls love, something we appreciate. If they have a mate, we use their memories to make sure they stay together.”
“So love is important then?”
Adrien nodded, “It is.”
Luka smiled. “Good. It’s nice to know no matter what, they keep mates together.”
Of course he likes it. Felix said. When he felt Adrien’s confusion, he continued. Well, he’d love nothing more than to be your soulmate. I mean it’s so obvious he likes you.
Adrien choaked on whatever he had in his mouth, some vegetable from the soup. Luka, like Adrien? No way.
“Are you ok? Was it Felix?”
Why am I always the first to be blamed?
Adrien would have replied with this actually being his fault but he was too busy trying to breath. Once he fully swallowed what was in his mouth, he could finally think. Luka did not like Adrien like a soulmate did. He just didn’t. besides, Adrien didn’t like him like that.
“Here. Are you ok? What happened?” Luka asked, handing him a cup of water.
“I’m fine. Um, I forgot Max wanted to see me. I’ll see you in the supply room, ok?”
Souls didn’t lie, or at the very least Adrien didn’t, but he guessed his sudden change of topic made it easy for Luka to not notice. He darted out of the dinning room. The colony was massive, filled with tunnels, some of which the group still didn’t know about. Without needing a babysitter every minute, Adrien had taken it upon himself to go exploring some of them. there was one just off the tunnel that led to the waterfall that Adrien liked. The water wafting from that nearby fall made the area cool and maybe it was the Soul part of him that liked chilled areas. He flopped onto the floor, trying to wrap his head around what Felix had said. Luka liked him?
Yeah. I mean, he was on everyone else’s side of not liking you, and then he changed his mind.
“So did a lot of other people!”
Yes, but remember, he was there to try and kill you with the others.
Not a memory Adrien enjoyed. It had been his first night, ‘locked’ in the supply room with Bridgette taking guard. He remembered that Bridgette, despite hitting him within seconds of seeing each other, refused to let anyone else guard him. Luka and one other person tried overpowering her, while Kim slipped past to try and strangle him. Felix always called Bridgette strong and she showed it by actually kicking all 3 attackers butts and leaving Adrien more scared of humans. Fu eventually released Adrien from his jail to get used to life and Luka had been one of the few people who actually looked when Adrien was in the room. He didn’t complain if they ever had to work together and when Xavier-Yves tries attacking him when Bridgette wasn’t around, Luka had been the one to stop him. He apologized and before Adrien knew it, he was usually around helping him. He’d gone from this person he’d been scared of to a person he could depend on. Luka had started seeing past just the Soul and saw Adrien.
But there was no way he liked Adrien.
Yes, Felix said, sounding tired, he does. You see how much he looks out for you and how he never treats you different since he apologized. Plus, let’s be honest, he always knows what you’re thinking and is always looking out for you and he’s not living in your head.
“Bridgette and Marinette look out for me. They like me too. Bridgette is who I like.”
Adrien, I don’t think you do. Marinette might have always liked you, but Bridgette didn’t. look, I love her to death, but she was willing to hurt you before she knew I was in here too. I don’t think I’ll ever find someone again, so I like her a lot, so much so I would do anything to keep her safe. No Soul has ever had to deal with what we’re dealing with right? So they wouldn’t know the affects. I think the reason they pair mates with mated Souls is because of residual feelings. They associate those feelings with the person in front of them, so adding those residual feelings with your actual ones, you’re even more in love. When you first saw memories of her, what did you think?
What did he think? He…thought he was in love. But it wasn’t immediate.
It grew when we found them again and my feelings came back tenfold. Adrien, you think you like Bridgette but I don’t think you do. You just associate her with the feelings and latched onto mine when we saw her again. I mean, come on, you feel awkward around her now that she’s so nice to you. do I think she likes you, yes, I do, but not like that and not like Luka feels. I think she thinks she does but I wouldn’t be surprised if you did ask her and she couldn’t give you an answer.
Was Felix, right? Were his feelings for Bridgette residual, not even real? Bridgette hadn’t been the nicest and Adrien still swore by liking her but Luka had changed and he felt more comfortable with him.
Adrien mulled over it for what felt like forever. He waved off Luka’s question if he was ok, knowing he wasn’t fooling him. Marinette, Bridgette’s younger cousin, asked as well but took his word when he said he was ok. He should have known Luka would have gotten tired of Adrien being weird eventually. Luka had shoved him a familiar bandana and waited until his vision was blocked before dragging him somewhere. Once he felt the breeze across his face, he knew he was outside.
“Where are you taking me?” he asked, trying not to stumble over the rocky plane.
“You’ll see. There’s a rock you need to climb here.”
If he kills us, he’d be the greatest actor ever.
Adrien decided to not respond.
“Ok. Now back up with me, there’s a rock you can sit on.” Once Adrien was seated, he felt Luka sit next to him as well. “Now take your blindfold off.”
Adrien knew he was outside, but it seemed like he was at the top of the mountain their home was in. the setting sun was casting pinks and purples on the land below.
“Wow.” He said, taking the view in.”
“I thought you might like it.” Luka said, smiling down at him when Adrien looked over. “You’ve been acting so weird I thought you were starting to get stir crazy.”
“Sorry.”
“I thought we agreed you’d stop apologizing so much. Besides, I can’t blame you.” Luka said, closing his eyes and letting his head drop back, taking in the wanning sun. “I miss going out too.” A content smile grew on his face.
‘I like his smile.’
Oh. Oh.
Oh indeed. Now do you see what I mean?
Adrien did. He was starting to understand that if something as simple as Luka’s smile made him happy, then he had feelings for him that were deeper than the ones he had for Bridgette. When it had started Adrien couldn’t pinpoint, but this was more. Adrien wouldn’t sure if he’d consider Luka his soulmate though.
He is, trust me.
“Are you ok?” Luka asked, noticing Adrien was staring at him.
This time Adrien was telling the truth. “I’m fine.”
                                              __________________
Adrien looked over at Bridgette who was stretched out on one of the beds, flipping through the channels. Luka was in the shower, leaving the two alone. Since realising how he felt about Luka, Adrien wanted to test something. Bridgette was obviously jealous when it came to Luka and Adrien, which made him think Bridgette felt the same, but since learning about the residual feelings, Adrien was starting to think Bridgette just thought Luka was interested in Felix. Now he had the chance to find out.
“Bridgette?”
“Yeah?” she asked, not looking away from the TV. Luka would have given him his full attention. He was starting to see the flaws.
“I need to ask you something.”
She finally looked over. “What’s wrong?”
“Do you love me?” he saw that he threw her. “And when I say me, I don’t mean my looks, because I know you love Felix. I meant me. Adrien. If I had a different body and you knew me, would you say you love me?”
“Um, well…” she sat up and looked at him. “I do care about you.”
“I know you do, but do you love me?”
He watched her open her mouth, struggling to say something. He also felt Felix utterly relieved.
“It’s ok. Trust me, I’m not mad. And you can stop being jealous of Luka, Felix is pretty sure he doesn’t like him. Can you tell Luka to meet me outside?” Adrien said, leaving Bridgette to get what he was trying to say.
He found a bench close to their room but as far away from the front desk as possible and not near any light that would reflect off his eyes but not Luka’s.
Are you gonna do it? Tell him?”
“Maybe. I also don’t know why you were worried. You know she loves you.”
Yeah, but I’m essentially dead. I could have been wrong on her end. Even been wrong when it comes to her before. But not like you weren’t relieved too. It makes how you feel pretty clear huh?
It did. Knowing the feelings weren’t returned made it clear to Adrien who he really had feelings for.
“Hey, what’s up?” Luka had his sweatshirt’s hood up, even with the new fake mark they made to make other Souls think he wasn’t a normal human. His sunglasses were hanging from the front.
Adrien pointed at the sky. He’d chosen their stopping point for a reason. It was the farthest from the city lights. “I thought I could repay you for the sunset.”
“Well, can’t argue with that.” Luka dropped down on the seat next to him, looking up at the stars. “I told you about how Jules and I used to live on a boat right? Mom would show us the constellations. The big and little dipper where the ones I could always spot. That’s what sailors use to find their way around the seas.”
“I’ve seen so many constellations. But I like the Earth ones more. The stories behind them say more.”
“Yeah, we can thank the Greeks and Romans for that.”
Adrien glanced over at Luka before saying, “I asked Bridgette if she loved me. She doesn’t, just Felix.”
“Are, you ok?” he asked slowly.”
“I am. I realised a while ago I don’t actually love her. I care for her, like I do Marinette, but not love. Those were Felix’s feelings that I held on to. It makes sense, I didn’t know her yet I thought I was in love with her. I just wanted to make sure she didn’t feel the same.”
“Oh. Well, good. I mean,” Luka seemed to be at a loss for words.
“It’s ok, really.” Adrien said, silencing Luka. he could tell him now. But what if Felix was wrong? What if he only liked Felix’s face but not the Soul inside?
Easy Adrien, you don’t have to say it now. Just, wait until it feels right.
Felix was right, he could wait.
Except he couldn’t. when they got back to the tunnels, they found out someone was dead. Because Adrien’s Seeker. It’d been a whirlwind after that, having to talk to the abrasive woman who started the bond he and Felix had, the funeral, teaching Max how to remove Souls without killing anyone, sending the Seeker away and finally the realization of what he had to do.
No, NO. you can’t do this! This is your life too. You can’t just leave. What about Luka?
Luka. Luka would understand.
Oh yeah, tell him then. Tell him what you plan on doing and tell him how you feel. He won’t pat you on the back and wish you well, and neither would Bridgette, no matter how she feels.
“I thought I’d find you here.”
Adrien looked up and saw Luka at the entrance of the cooler tunnel he like. They’d gotten back from sneaking the Seeker’s Soul to a transportation facility and he’d darted off the minute they got back to go over what he’d realised.
“Huh?”
“You like cooler places, so I thought you’d be near the waterfall. How are you feeling?”
Adrien wanted to say fine, but instead he got up and walked up to Luka. he looked down at him with his blue eyes, confused but not saying anything. Luka knew him, inside and out.
Tell him or I swear, I’ll take over and do it myself.
“I like you. the way Bridgette likes Felix. I have for a while and I wanted to tell you, but I got scared. I’ve never told this to anyone, I thought I never would.”
“Adrien.” Luka said softly. He didn’t look nervous or uncomfortable. That content smile was growing on his lips.
“Felix teased me and said you wanted to be my soulmate but I didn’t believe him.”
Then Luka’s brow furrowed and then he started to look nervous. And angry.
“Adrien. Tell me the truth. You showed Max how to remove a Soul. Did you do it so he’d do it to you?”
Adrien opened his mouth to lie, but Luka always saw through his lies. “How?”
“You know about the heart song thing. that’s how I gauge people’s emotions. Telling me you feel this way should be happy, but you sound miserable.”
“How do you know it’s not because I think you like Felix?” why was he trying to push this away? He knew Luka had figured him out.
“I’m not interested in Felix; I couldn’t be if I tried!”
Hey!
“So you have his face, big deal. I didn’t fall for you because of how you look. I fell for you because of the kind of person you are. Your kind and caring, even to those who don’t deserve it. You have so much love to give and every time you think you don’t matter; it kills me inside. So I know why you’re doing this and I’m begging you, please don’t.”
“But Felix…”
“What about him? You matter just as much! If you do this, you’d be hurting so many more people. You can’t do this. Adrien please.”
There were tears, a lot of them and Luka had dragged Fu into it, begging for a tribunal to make the decision, which he’d agreed to. Before he knew it, he was in Luka and Juleka’s room, empty for Juleka no doubt being with Rose.
“I’m not letting you out of my sight.” Was Luka’s excuse.
Luka was still pacing, steaming while Adrien sat on his mattress. He’d stayed with Luka for a while before Bridgette got Marinette to ask him to stay with them, so he was familiar with the space.
“Please sit down.” Adrien asked.
Luka sighed before dropping down next to Adrien. “You can’t ask me to accept this. I thought you were in love with Bridgette and to hear you weren’t, I finally thought, this is it. I can tell him. But instead you tell me you’re giving Felix his body back?”
“I told you I love you too.”
“That’s not funny. When you said that thing about soulmates and didn’t say a word about how thought it was true, that hurt. Adrien, you might not believe it, but I do.”
Adrien felt like crying again. Though he was getting close with his eyes filling up. “This hurts.”
“Then don’t do it.” Luka said, pulling Adrien’s head closer to rest their foreheads together. “Please don’t.”
Adrien leaned in closer and kissed him. He’d only ever kissed Bridgette, who did it to see if Felix was actually still there and help pull him out after Adrien blocked him. He liked this better, it was soft and slow and it meant something.
It kept it on his mind when Luka eventually fell asleep and didn’t wake when Adrien pulled from his arms. He pressed a kiss onto Luka’s cheek. “I believe Felix now. You are my soulmate.”
Adrien, please don’t do this. I mean, I don’t love Luka kissing my body but he loves you and that’s all that matters.
“You’d get Bridgette and Marinette back. Luka will move on.”
He’d reached Max’s office and saw everything set up.
“Thank you for everything.”
You’re my brother and I don’t want you to do this.
“Ready?” Max asked, putting his supplies next to the cot.
“I’m ready.”
                                         _________________
“Adrien, wake up. Come on, I have to yell at you for disappearing.”
“Wow, yelling at your soulmate. Nice.”
“You want to yell at him too.”
“Of course I do. Clearly yelling in his head doesn’t work.”
“Shh, I think he’s moving.”
He knew those voices. Luka, Marinette, Felix?
Adrien forced his eyes – eyes? – open and stared up at the rocky celling. He also saw Luka, Marinette, Bridgette, Max and Felix looking down at him.
“Didn’t think you could get rid of us that easily, did you?” Felix asked. It was strange to see the face he’d been wearing staring back at him without the use of a mirror.
“Here.” Marinette held a mirror up to him. A new face stared back at him.
“I look like Felix.” His voice was slightly higher than he was used to. His eyes were green and his hair more golden than Felix’s lighter blonde. The face shape was different too but he still looked like Felix.
“That’s what I thought when we saw you.” Marinette said, sounding proud of herself.
Adrien pushed himself up. He didn’t feel weak but his body felt different. He felt slimmer but he could still feel muscle. “How?”
“Turns out Luka isn’t the only one who can tell what you’re thinking.” Felix said, looking at Bridgette.
“I got here just after Max finished you. he was going to tell us anyway. Felix found me and Luka and we went to go look for a body. Well, me, Felix and Marinette. Luka stayed with you.”
“I didn’t want to leave you. I didn’t care what you looked like so I stayed, helped Max put you back after we were sure this Host didn’t have a human still inside. You look pretty in your Soul form.”
The same content smile, the one Adrien realised was one that only he saw, was flashed at him.
“You wanted me to stay?”
“How many times do I have to say it? Adrien, I love you and that’s not going to change.”
Adrien wasn’t impulsive. He thought things through and was sort of a diplomate in matters. But this was different. He took Luka’s face in his hands and kissed him, sighing happily at the same feeling being there the last time he kissed him.
“Don’t run off again.” Luka said before kissing him again before Felix yelled at them to stop.
He wouldn’t, not after he found his soulmate.

The Miraculous fandom is actually horrible. They claim Adrien is a terrible person/has sexually harassed Marinette. Sure, he is not perfect and might do things without thinking, but he’s definitely not anywhere on the levels of the likes of his father, Lila, Chloe, Nathalie, and Felix.
Felix: Stole his father’s rings that belonged to him ‘back’ because his mother ‘owns them’, deleted the kind messages from his cousin’s friends that were meant to make him feel better on the one-year anniversary of his mother’s death, aka FELIX’S AUNT, made Adrien look like an actual bad person in front of his friends, resulting in three of them getting akumatized, and more, but the fandom loves him
Chloe: Was a xenophobic bitch to Marinette’s great-uncle in season one, was at fault for everyone in Marinette’s girl crew along with some of the guys (Kim and Nathaniel) getting akumatized in that same season as well, treats her best and only friend like utter shit, still is a bitch to the entire class, endangered hundreds of citizens’ lives during the train incident in the Queens’ Battle, cried and moaned when she was called out in Malediktator and is pretty much behind the reason of her father getting akumatized, also put herself in danger when revealing her hero identity to the entire city, putting her and her family in danger of Hawk Moth, is also at fault for Vanisher, Rogercop, and Despair Bear, was 100% at fault for the Miraculer akumatization as well, excuses all of the shit she’s done by saying ‘everybody adores me!’, and finally, was actually a partial reason Miracle Queen happened, considering she actually gave in, everyone still adores her and is pissed about her redemption being ‘ruined’
Lila: Stole Adrien’s father’s book, which Adrien took for an actual good reason, she lied, threw her likely expensive computer across the room like it was no big deal when it actually is, willingly gets herself akumatized, tricked the people of Paris into thinking one of their heroes was killed while the other went rogue with her illusions, threatened a classmate that she hates when nobody else was around, tricked the entire class right after the episode where they praise Marinette and call her their ‘everyday Ladybug’ into believing her with her lies (the writers only did it for angst, Chameleon is the one episode I hate for the bad writing and poor characterization, everything else is fine), faked getting pushed down the stairs and injured, plays victim 24/7, got the same classmate she bullies expelled from school for a day and nearly put the city in danger again, got another one of her ‘enemies’ (Kagami) akumatized and almost got herself killed, and more that I could add but won’t
Nathalie: Willingly lets her boss terrorize the city on a daily basis, is just as horrible as he is, joined him with the other stolen Miraculous, lies to the boy she ‘cares for as a son’, doesn’t listen whenever Gabriel tells her to not be Mayura, told on Adrien to Gabriel about him being Chat Noir, and finally, she’s also at fault for the catalyst of horrific events that was the akumatization of Chat Blanc, both by ratting Adrien out like the snitch she is and breaking the news about breaking up with Adrien to Marinette at the Dupain-Cheng bakery
And Gabriel: TERRORIZES THE CITY ON A DAILY FUCKING BASIS, takes advantage of teenagers’ emotions for his own personal gain, has likely killed people with his akumas before the Miraculous Ladybugs fix everything, making him AN ACTUAL MURDERER, abuses and neglects his son both physically and emotionally, keeps his wife’s comatose body in the basement of his home and showed it to his son, likely scarring him for life, and right after that, whacked his son out of his house and across Paris with a cane, akumatized him in front of the Eiffel Tower on the spot as his son screamed for him to stop as well the girl who’s his partner begged as well and watched in horror, all of which resulted in him being killed by his son’s villain form in the CB timeline, manipulated Chloe into betraying Ladybug and Chat Noir and becoming the Mad Queen of the show, lets his son’s classmate (Lila) who’s done awful things help him carry out his plan as both a civilian and villain, has akumatized his ‘friend’ Tomoe Tsurugi once and her daughter/his son’s now girlfriend THREE times (counting Heroes’ Day), took advantage of Juleka’s anxiety attack in Reflekdoll to try and get her to assist him in defeating LB and CN again, has akumatized a baby (August) multiple times, along with four young children (Chris, Manon, Ella and Etta), along with his good friend Audrey Bourgeois and her husband on their 20-year anniversary, and at his own fashion show just so he could try to get his wife back for the millionth time, has akumatized nearly the entire Francoise Dupont school, and finally, could have caused actual global warming with Stormy Weather 2.
Yet all these salters still think Adrien’s a horrible, irredeemable person who’s a POS. All of the five above are much worse.
I’m a huge fan of Adrien. He’s one of the best-written characters in Miraculous, and I absolutely adore him. Do I agree with all of his actions? No. Do I think he can still grow and change with help from the right people? Absolutely, yes.
Nino, Marinette, Alya, Kagami, Chloe, and the rest of the class are all great friends to him and will help him learn and grow.
I may not like Chloe, but I definitely do think she has chance and potential for redemption, 100%.
Adrien and Chloe may not be perfect, but I still believe they can change. Anybody can, as long as they try. (I’m not including Lila, because she clearly shows zero signs of wanting to lol.)
Neither of them are fully grown. Throughout time, both Chloe and Adrien will find the time and chances to learn and grow. It isn’t over for either of them, not at all.
But yet everyone still believes Adrien doesn’t have a chance to grow, learn and mature. If you all think Chloe still has a chance to do so and change her behavior, then Adrien still has a chance and the time to grow and learn from his mistakes.

The Breaking Part 3: Kagami
This is Part 5 of my Burning series, you can read the rest of it here.
Shoutout to @im-here-for-the-content for helping me with this!
This is shorter than my other pieces simply because Kagami does not beat around the bush and blunt as hell. Anyway, onto the pain!
The Breaking Part 3: Kagami
Kagami was not surprised when Chloe exited the elevator looking drained. She walked over to the chairs where they were seated and dropped down. Nino moved forward and asked how it went, and the blonde mumbled something about nearly snapping his wrist. Kagami felt pride at that. Agreste deserved to hurt for what he had done.
Marinette’s voice rang through her head and she flinched. The pain she spoke with—it killed Kagami. It made her want to break something.
A man exited the elevator and scanned the waiting room, when he spotted her he walked over, carrying a long object wrapped in white cotton. He bowed and offered it to her.
“Kagami-sama,” he greeted. “The package you requested.”
She nodded and grabbed it, holding it delicately in her hands. “Arigatō gozaimasu.” The man – an assistant of some sort – left.
Nino looked over to her. “What is it?”
“A symbol,” she answered, “a sword.”
Worry made its way onto his face. “Are you planning to kill him?”
She shook her head, running a finger along the black hilt. “I am not expecting it to ever be used. It is symbolic.”
Chloe’s head tilted but she did not comment. “Your turn. His secretary told me she wouldn’t announce you, just in case he calls security. She’s planning to quit after today anyway.”
Kagami nodded to the secretary, who was manning the desk a floor below Agreste’s office instead of her usual one right outside it. She held hate in her eyes for her boss.
She gripped the hilt of the sword and nodded to her friends, then headed for the elevator, jabbing the button. Her last look of her friends was Chloe wiping away tears as Nino comforted her.
Agreste looked up when Kagami walked in. He was holding his wrist close to his chest and she thanked Chloe for that. The betrayed look in his eyes was worth it.
“Agreste,” she greeted coldly, placing her package in the chair beside her. She remained standing.
He looked up from where he was leaning against the desk and grimaced. “Hey. Sorry, Chloe just dropped by. You think she’s mad?” He held up his bruising wrist jokingly and it set a fire within Kagami. He was joking, laughing, as his wife fell apart. The nerve, the selfishness—
She took a breath, steadying herself. She had words to say before her anger could be loosed.
“But can you believe it?” He asked, rubbing his wrist. “I thought Chloe would understand, growing up with politics and all. She at least should have understood why I would need to clear my name.” Agreste sighed. “She even thinks everyone would be against me. But you’re here, proving her wrong. I never would have expected she would…” he sighed and shrugged. “She’s just being dramatic. Hey, do you think I could use your phone to call Marinette? She hasn’t been answering my call—”
That was the final straw, assuming he had the right to talk to the woman he had hurt more than anyone else. Kagami held up a hand and he paused, puzzled.
With no emotion, she told him, “I am here to formally cut any connections with you.”
His smile dropped, he stared at her. “What?”
“I find myself unable to remain your business partner when you have committed acts that go against my morals and expectations of you,” she told him ruthlessly. A weight was lifted off of her with each word, like tiny anchors. “Any and all business between us is over. You will be getting calls from my lawyers later today.”
“Bu—but you’re my friend!” Agreste protested, sounding like a petulant child.
She held up a hand, and it took all of her mother’s training to keep it from trembling. “Are you addressing me as a business partner or a friend?”
“A friend. What else?” He said, still staring like a gaping fish.
“Excellent.” She pulled her arm back and punched him in the mouth. He fell against the desk with a dull thud.
“Wha—Kagami what the hell?!” Agreste shouted, holding a hand to his bloody mouth. She stared down at him, remorseless.
“You wanted your friend, well here I am,” she told him, spreading her arms. “I am the friend you lied to, the friend who loves your wife—evidently more than you do.”
Agreste scrambled away from her, behind the desk, trying to get out of her reach—useless.
“You are a stain upon your family, upon this world,” she told him, anger filling every word. “You betrayed your wife and friends. No longer can I look upon you without seeing a liar and a bastard.”
He tried to speak, made to put a hand forward but she pushed onwards. “You are without integrity, honesty and loyalty are absent from you.” She planted her hands on the desk and leaned forward. “You are a coward, you are weak.”
“I thought you would understand!” Agreste burst out, his own anger making itself known. “You grew up like me, you must understand what it’s like Kagami!”
“Keep my name out of your mouth,” she snarled over the desk. “I will not have cowards speak of me. Cowards who hide behind their family name and use their upbringing to justify their mistakes.” She slammed her fist down on the desk, making it rattle. “You are a grown man, you can no longer hide behind your father’s mistakes. Everything you have done is your own fault and you are weaker than I thought if you are attempting to blame it on a bad childhood.”
He stepped forward, glaring at her. “My reputation is all I have! Without out it— without it I am noth—"
“You think your reputation is all you have? What of your wife?” Kagami seethed. “Your friends? Your children? Or are those just things you may abandon, expecting them to remain where you left them? You are still that child who is blind to the harm he causes others, lost in your perfect world where nothing can go wrong. You are still that fool who is selfish enough to think Marinette will just fall into your arms, forgive you after a moment of anger. You won’t even let her feel anger! It’s been less than two hours and already you think you may speak to her.”
Marinette was worthless to him, she meant less than the words of others in his eyes. She was glad she had left her sabre at home, she would have killed him then and there.
She shook her head and stood up straight. “You expect her to love you no matter what you do, that she will accept your mistakes when she is the one hurt more than anyone else. It’s just like all those years ago when we went on that double date to that ice rink.” Oh, the silent tears Marinette had shed when she recounted it. Kagami wished she had realised then the pain Agreste was causing her. She would have told her to leave him before he hurt her even more.
“You were pining after Ladybug—Marinette herself—and thought it was acceptable to string me along, to ask me on a date when you were still not over her. I was fool enough to agree, to think I was helping you when all I was doing was enabling you. And you dragged Marinette along too, selfish even when you couldn’t see how hurt she was.”
Outrage flashed across Agreste’s face. “I didn’t know she was Ladybug! She never told me how she felt, how she—she was Marinette! And she agreed to that date, all on her own. It was her decision, you can’t blame that on me!”
“I can blame you for being blind!” Kagami shot back. “I can blame you for being selfish in every part of your life. I can blame you for being a characterless coward. I can blame you for so many things because you are idiot enough to not learn from your mistakes. I can blame you for playing Marinette’s heart then and breaking it now. I can blame you for denying her the chance to be with someone who cherishes her more than you ever could. Someone who has stood beside her and seen all the wrongs you have done and let her go regardless.”
Agreste gaped again. “Who—Luka? Marinette chose me over Luka all on her own! It was her choice!”
He still didn’t know about Felix, Kagami realised. He was still so blind that he couldn’t see the longing and love in his brother’s eyes whenever he looked at Marinette.
“You are a small-minded fool,” Kagami said instead. It wasn’t her place. “Marinette had options other than you then, and she has them now. She doesn’t need you, and only an idiot will think she wants you after what you have done. She has people who love her, and she doesn’t need an honourless husband.”
Agreste stomped forward, pointing a finger at her. “I—”
“You haven’t changed in all the years I have known you,” Kagami said over him. “You are still a passive aho. You are a child. You couldn’t even tell her of your disgusting deeds yourself, to her face you instead made it all public, so desperate to be seen in the best light you didn’t even pause to think of your family. The definition of selfish cowardice. Ruining any chance of leniency in an effort to avoid false drug charges.” She growled. “You’re an even bigger idiot than I could ever think. You have dishonoured your name and your family. You have tainted every memory anyone has of you with the betrayal you have committed. You have ruined anything and everything.”
“I—”
“Your children will look at you and they will see a monster. They will see you only as a shame. They will spend the rest of their life with the knowledge their father is a heartless beast that cared more for his own pleasures than them. You shall be their greatest regret, the man who tore their family apart over sex, not even love. You will no longer be their father, instead, all they will see is the man who broke their mother’s heart. They will hate you.”
He took a step back, eyes wide with shock before narrowing into rage. “Kagam—"
She didn’t give him a chance to speak, grabbing his shirt and pulling him down until he was sprawled across the desk. He let out a cry and looked up to her in fear. She grabbed his tie, pulling him up until he was nearly choking. “You are a stain upon this world,” she hissed. “An enemy to Marinette and her children. Your words are worth less than dirt. Nothing you say can be trusted after months of lies. You were weak enough to betray her, and you are no longer worthy to even call yourself hers. You have dishonoured her and everyone who loves you.” With that she let go of him, grabbed the package she had brought with her, unwrapping it and holding it up for him to see. The silver blade of the sword glinted in the light.
He gasped and scrambled away, pressing himself again the glass wall behind him in horror. “That—that’s a—”
“A wakizashi,” she finished ruthlessly. “The sword of ritual suicide. Samurai would fell themselves with their wakizashi to restore their honour.” She laid it down on his desk and met his eyes. “I leave you this not to tell you to kill yourself—even now I hold some regard for your health.” Her voice was bitter. “I leave this to you instead as a constant reminder of the crimes you have committed. The dishonour your actions have brought upon you and all who know you: Marinette, Emma, Hugo, Felix, Nino, Chloe, Alya, your father. Your mother.” He winced at that and she pressed on it. “You have dishonoured the woman who raised you by committing such acts against your family. You have dishonoured the dead and the living.”
She stared at him, at his shock and fear, and felt no guilt. “Goodbye Agreste. My lawyers will be calling.” She turned for the door.
He ran out from behind the desk, eyeing the wakizashi fearfully. As she touched the door handle he grabbed her arm. She froze, turning to look at him with only one eye.
“Please Kagami,” he begged. “We both know this doesn’t mean much. Marinette will forgive me, take back the wakizashi. See sense—”
She elbowed him in the gut and then kicked him in the ankle, putting all of her rage and loathing into the moves. He fell to the floor and she stood over him. She placed a foot on his chest and put weight on it, making him groan.
“Do not speak to me,” she hissed. “You are without integrity, without honour. Be thankful you are even breathing now.” She removed her foot, stalking to the door. She paused just outside, ignoring the looks some of the designers were giving her. Kagami stared down the coward she had once called friend with no regrets. “You are nothing.”
Adrien stared after her as she disappeared into the elevator, left lying on the ground with only the injuries she had given, the words she had said, and the wakizashi.
It felt really good to write this. Sometimes I wish I could punch Adrien too.
Anyway, next up is Nino’s part!
