Just got booted off the server while trying to complete one of the hidden cheevos on Ruhnuk that requires you to find three clickable plants within a time limit, and the respawn time for the plants seems to be outrageous. So of course, I will have wasted the ones I clicked, when it seemed like only three of the possible like 15 were even currently clickable.

WoW and FFXIV WoW and FFXIV: Boosted Raptr Playtime And ArcheAge Playtime "cratered"
Another Raptr report for another month. Yesterday Raptr.com released its top PC games list for November and MMOs did rather well. Unsurprisingly, World of Warcraft was able to climb up the list to second place due to the Warlords of Draenor expansion. Raptr's press release states that "The game's monthly playtime was up 71% versus October." Even though WoW "likely" drew from League of Legends' numbers however, it wasn't able to take over the MOBA's number one spot.
ArcheAge playtime fell by 39.97 percent, however World of Tanks (and Final Fantasy XIV) saw increases in theirs. Raptr says that Guild Wars 2 rose in rank but lost playtime in November over October. SWTOR has fallen two places since October.
Raptr roundups are subject to the condition that they only represent Raptr users on desktop computers. Some MMO studios also employ in-game rewards to boost Raptr numbers. But since some of these games refuse to publish data on population and you can call this the next best snapshot of popularity other than navigating the servers yourself.
[Source: Raptr press release which we're putting here] Top Played PC Games November 2014 --- Dragon Age, Call of Duty debut, World of Warcraft revived
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Dragon Age: Inquisition made their debuts in the Most Played List this month. World of Warcraft's most recent expansion gave the MMO an increase in popularity after ten years. Spider Solitaire also made a surprising return to the top 20 after an absence of a while. The guilty parties know who they are.
Highlights
League of Legends remained in first place in November despite losing 15.88% of playtime when compared to October. Following the sale on Halloween it reached its peak at the middle of the month. While the game's gameplay was steady for most of the month however, the 4.20 update brought lengthy queues that greatly affected playtime.
World of Warcraft's Warlords of Draenor likely took time away from LoL and other major games. The monthly play time of the MMO was up 71.3 percent over October. As is expected, daily play time was affected by the expansion and the game's 10 year anniversary events. It roughly doubled after Draenor was launched, and continued to grow until the end of November.
The other top five games weren't as fortunate. DOTA 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Smite saw a net decrease in hours. Smite beat ArcheAge for the fifth position. DOTA 2 and CS.GO saw double-digit drops (12.49 percent and 11.59% respectively), but Smite dropped less than one percent.
Archeage however, was shattered by 39.97 percent, which is why Smite's small climb to the top of the list.
The downward trend continued with Minecraft (-11.70 percent), Diablo III (down nearly 45% -We blame WoW for this) and Hearthstone (-13.11 percent, but we expect a rebound in December, thanks to Goblins vs Gnomes).
Chart newcomer Dragon Age, Inquisition, landed in tenth position despite a release in November.
While sliding down the ranks, World of Tanks managed to increase 7.72 percent of playtime in comparison to October. While the WGLNA Gold League Qualifying rounds were held throughout the month the game was at its highest during Thanksgiving weekend, due to XP multipliers as well as holiday discounts on premium items.
Final Fantasy XIV saw a 20.97% increase in the amount of time played. The increase could be due to late October and early November hotfixes to the game, and the release of the Game of the Year edition that offered additional 60 free days of adventure (plus all the previously released content). Mid-month DDOS attacks that caused login issues, did not have a major impact on game play.
Warframe and Guild Wars 2 each rose in popularity despite losing playtime in November, compared to October. Warframe held a Movember community event that led to an Guinness World Record. Guild Wars 2's Tangled Path content released with new areas, items, skins and more.
Call of Duty: Advance Warfare -- always more of an Xbox-based juggernaut was released in the first week of November, and based on current trends we may not be able to see it in December's Top Played.
For the first time since October 2013, Spider Solitaire made its way back into Most Played. Free 51 It is now clear that Thanksgiving isn't only about turkey, football and arguing with your family- it's also about Solitaire. The 27th of November was the peak day for Solitaire games.
Note The Share number for each game is the amount of time devoted to that game by Raptr members. It is useful to assess the relative playing time between games.

WoW and FFXIV See Boosted Playtime on Raptr; ArcheAge Playtime 'cracked'
Another Raptr report for another month. Yesterday Raptr.com released its top PC games list for November and MMOs performed quite well. It's no surprise that World of Warcraft has risen to second place thanks to the Warlords Of Draenor expansion. The press release from Raptr states that "The MMO’s monthly play time was up 71% versus October." While WoW "likely" was influenced by League of Legends' numbers but it didn't quite take over the MOBA's number one spot.
Other MMOs, ArcheAge playtime "cratered by 39.97%," but World of Tanks and Final Fantasy XIV both saw an increase in their playtime. Guild Wars 2 rose in rank, Raptr says, but it saw less play time in November in comparison to. October. SWTOR has dropped two spots since October.
Raptr roundups come with the caveat that they only represent Raptr users who play on PC. Certain MMO studios also increase Raptr numbers by offering incentives in game. But as certain games are unable to publish data on population it is possible to consider this the next best snapshot of popularity outside of touring the servers yourself.
[Source: Raptr press release which we're including here] Most played PC Games November 2014 -- Dragon Age, Call of Duty debut, World of Warcraft revived
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Dragon Age: Inquisition made their debuts on the Top Played List this month. World of Warcraft's newest expansion has given the MMO a boost after a ten-year absence. Spider Solitaire also made an unexpected return to the top 20 after a long absence. They know who the guilty parties are.
Highlights
League of Legends maintained its top spot in November, despite losing 15.88% of its playtime in comparison to October. Following the sale on Halloween it reached its peak in the middle of the month. While the game was stable for most of the month, there were a few slowdowns due to the 4.20 update.
World of Warcraft's Warlords of Draenor likely pulled time from LoL as well as other important games. The MMO's monthly play time was up 71.3% versus October. As expected the expansion and the games ten-year anniversary celebrations had a significant impact on daily play, which roughly doubled after the launch of the Draenor expansion, and remained steady until the November's end.
The rest of the top five games were not as fortunate. DOTA 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Smite saw a net decrease in hours. Smite beat ArcheAge for fifth. Although DOTA 2 and CS:GO suffered double digits drops (12.49 percent and 11.59 percent respectively), Smite was down less than 1.
Archeage In contrast, it was cut by 39.97 percent; thus Smite's small climb to the top of the list.
The downward trend continued with Minecraft (-11.70 percent), Diablo III (down nearly 45% -- we blame WoW) and Hearthstone (-13.11%, though we expect a rebound to come in December thanks to Goblins vs Gnomes).
Chart newcomer Dragon Age: Inquisition made an impressive debut into November's Most PlayedChart, placing tenth despite a release date of late November.
World of Tanks saw a lower playtime, but it managed to gain 7.72% more play time than October. Although the WGLNA Gold League Qualifying Rounds took place throughout the month, the game was at its highest during Thanksgiving weekend due to XP multipliers, holiday deals on premium items and the Thanksgiving weekend.
Final Fantasy XIV increased in play time by 20.97%. This could be due to the release of the Game of the Year edition that added 60 days of adventure (plus all previously released content) in the late months of October and early November. Mid-month DDOS attacks caused login problems, didn't have a major impact on play time.
Each Guild Wars 2 and Warframe rose in rank, despite having less play time in November than in October. Warframe hosted a Movember community event, which resulted in a Guinness World Record. Guild Wars 2's Tangled Path content released with new areas, items, skins, and much more.
Call of Duty: Advance Warfare -- always an Xbox-based juggernaut launched in early November and based on current trends we may not see it in December's Most Played. Taking an image
For the first time since October 2013, Spider Solitaire made its way back into Most Played. Turns out Thanksgiving isn't just about turkey, football and arguing with your relatives -- it's also about playing Solitaire, as gameplay hours for the month topped out on the 27th.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Dragon Age: Inquisition made their debuts on the Most Played List this month. World of Warcraft's most recent expansion gave the ten-year-old MMO an increase in play, while Spider Solitaire was a surprise to make it back into the top 20 after a gap of more than a year. The culprits know who they are.

League of Legends remained in the top spot in November despite losing 15.88 percent of the time played when compared to October. Call of Duty: Advance Warfare is always an console juggernaut, launched in November and based upon current trends , we may not have it on the list of December's Most Played.
Spider Solitaire was re-invented into Most Played for the first time since October 2013. It turns out that Thanksgiving isn't just about football, turkey and fighting with family members - it's also about Solitaire. The 27th of November was the most popular day for Solitaire gameplay.

I would love. to finish a seasons objective today. that doesn’t depend on other people. But apparently I suck too much at the game to do that anymore.
Half of the objectives are pvp and I’m not touching those.
Doing a vet mode kotet chapter shouldn’t be too awful. Nope, can’t even get past the first mini-boss. Even with a level 50 companion, get my ass handed to me about 70 times. Best part is you can’t abandon a kotfe/kotet mission without going through an act of congress, so it just sits in your log and mocks you.
Ok, maybe I can do stupid space missions, even though I hate those. At least I don’t need other people for them. Nope. The asteroid fields make me sick, I can’t figure out what the objectives actually are, and the one time I actually complete the objective, I do it way too fast and can’t live long enough for the timer to run out.
Why do I play this game again?

Trying to get on the PTS to get the Opal Vulptilla mount. Figure that it will suck, because I hate pvp, and queueing with randos for pvp will be miserable, but whatever.
It takes a year for the PTS to download. Fine, whatever. Hit play. Nothing happens. Relaunch game. Launcher does “checking for updates” and redownloads like 2 gb of…. I’m not even sure what. Hit play. Nothing happens.
Lather, rinse, repeat. One of the times, it launches the live server instead of the PTS. But every time, it is downloading 1-2 gb. My potato-ass computer can’t handle the game downloading that much every fucking time I try to launch or change environments.
On the forums for PTS issues, people have complained, but the Dev answer is “it’s not really downloading anything.” Multiple people have posted their proof that it most certainly fucking is. No further answers from devs.
I’m probably going to have to uninstall and reinstall the fucking game at this point.
Update: I deleted the PTS files and set my preferences to not allow PTS access, yet the launcher is still “checking for updates,” downloading over 1gb, and then. not. actually. launching. the. game.
swtor remind me why I pay you money challenge

Has anyone else encountered an issue with swtor resetting all of your preferences to factory default? It happens to me literally every time there is a patch, but it also happens randomly (sometimes the day before a patch), and I have to go into the preferences for every single character and fix them (things like my chat, social, nameplate, etc, things that aren’t saved in the GUI profiles and can’t easily just be loaded/copied over in the case of like a full game reload or whatever).
It’s one of the most annoying problems I’ve encountered with the game, and it’s like the game is actively trying to tell me to just stop playing, because literally no one, even the game itself, wants me there anyway.
Edited to add: whenever I’ve asked any guildmates about it, they act like I’m crazy and making it up because it’s never happened to them and they’ve never heard of it happening to anyone
Update: there are some old forum posts (that I’m pretty sure I’ve found before) that suggest it’s an issue with the .ini files getting corrupted somehow? So maybe I’ll try some of the fixes suggested in those posts, but there’s also one post I found suggesting that this is a Known Issue as of 7.0 PTS-to-live transition that they supposedly fixed with a patch, but the patch did not fix it for most who are experiencing the issue, but it’s a small enough subset of us that they’re probably just like “well lol that sucks.”

The forum discussion about R4 Anomaly story mode needing to be nerfed in difficulty has trickled into a couple of the discords I’m in. While I’m not going to touch the arguments about whether or not operations should or should not have mechanics/be difficult/etc., there is one thing I do want to say:
There is currently story content that all subscribers, regardless of their raiding proficiency, have already paid for that is sitting locked behind operations that are not accessible to some players right now.
Sure, Gods of the Machine, Nature of Progress, and R4 Anomaly CAN be cleared by a truly random complete pick-up group made from group finder (doubtful if it’s actual 2 tank, 2 healer, 4 dps though, to be honest for some of those fights, but that’s an entirely different issue), without coordination through discord or other voice chat, without anyone rage quitting the group because of minor issues or too many bad pulls (or without anyone yelling at you to stop watching the cutscenes and “spacebar, you [slur]”).
I don’t think having to work or prog through an operation--even on story mode--is a problem. I get that it’s an MMO and that it’s intended to be played with other people, but most of the story takes place in solo instances and individual-driven paths. I think not having any way to access the story that you have paid for is cheap when you do an entire storyline that can be so captivating and then suddenly “you must be in a group to enter this phase.”

Why did I agree to join a pug NiM Nefra 16man?
Tanks who lost aggro on pull and because they were guarding the healer in the lowest iRating rather than the dps who is going to have the best opener, Nefra turned around to try to kill the group. Dps who refused (or didn’t know how?) to cleanse themselves. Healers who couldn’t figure out how to cleanse tank first then themself (and yes if you are assigned to cleanse tank and yourself, you do actually have to cleanse both). A healer who straight up wasn’t cleansing themself, so I was cleansing a sniper, a sorc healer, and myself almost every round. I cleansed 5 people on one round, some on classes that I usually would have just let the debuff go off because you’d think you could trust them to use dcds if they didn’t have their cleanse up, but NOPE, and apparently no other healer noticed that those folks didn’t cleanse themselves (eventually earned myself a guard, don’t know if someone told one of the tanks to guard me or if they looked at the threat table and saw that I was about to Cause Problems).
Anyway I baited an offhand for my scoundrel and it dropped a chest piece so 🙃
And the group lead wanted to do Dash after but no fucking thanks lol

Of course boost timers are running while you’re on loading screens. Of course they are.
My rampage boost timer, which had 10 minutes on it when I logged out to swap toons for HM EV and some NiM Nefras only had 7 minutes left on it when I finally got past the loading screen when I logged back in. Thanks lag <3
So it ended right as I killed what would have been my last herd of bormu, and instead of putting my count over 500, it stopped the count at 499/500.
I mean, at least it wasn’t that hard to move on to the next herd and kill one to get my last Balmorra achievement, but are you kidding me
Tumblr media
At least now I never have to kill another bormu again. I do, however, still have to kill bantha on Tatooine eventually ;-;

I am in hell. I want to do a violence to the dev who decided that I needed to murder 500 Bormu, and then put so few of them on the planet and put them so far apart from each other on the map.
Tumblr media
But! I am 100% done with Makeb. The Beast achievement tab haunts me with the reminder that I killed so many innocent ginxes.
A lot of my missing planetary achievements are Beasts (many of which are “neutral” and don’t attack you unless you attack them first, so I’m way behind on them, despite having run an ungodly number of toons through all of the class and planetary missions, and usually picking up several of the side/heroic missions every time, because even on my evilist toons, I don’t like killing things that weren’t gonna start a fight with me anyway). Some of them I’m just too lazy to do (hi Rishi! I have so many toons that I could easily finish the Harlow Ricks and ambush missions/achievements with, but good god I don’t want to). A couple of them are missing pvp cheevs, because I missed those planets when the achievement hunter server was doing them.
