Donnie didn’t think there’s anything better than ‘body doubling.’

When you came over to work and hang out, he felt like his efficiency increased tenfold.

But for some reason, you only worked on the floor. Apparently the desk space he always offers you wasn’t enough. Only the floor had enough room for your seemingly endless supply of papers.

Today, you had chosen to sit under his desk. He had been nervous to take up too much of your space and had wheeled his chair back a little bit to give you room. But eventually he had to reach for something farther away on his desk and scooted back in.

Then you had rested your side against his leg, your head against his knee, and he couldn’t move away.

Thank god you were on the floor. He covered his face with his hands and exhaled harshly, ignoring how hot his face felt.

He took a few minutes to cool down before he began typing away on his keyboard again, trying very, very hard to focus on the screen of his computer and not your weight against his knee.

He had to fight down every muscle that wanted to twitch, too hyper aware of your presence against him.

What were you thinking right now? Was his leg really that comfy? He should’ve taken his knee pad off, it might be digging into your skull. Were you tired or something?

You’d been quiet for a while now, he finally realized.

He kept his leg stationary as he gently leaned his upper body back to catch a glimpse of you below the desk.

You were definitely asleep.

He rubbed his face, staring at you for an unnecessary amount of time before he took his hoodie off and attempted to drape it over you without waking you up.

It was difficult, especially with how you were positioned, and it slipped off you several times before he settled for it just laying across your lap. Fine. At least your legs would be warm.

He knew he wasn’t very upfront with you. But at least you thought of him well enough to hang out with him and even fall asleep with him. Even if it wasn’t on purpose.

He hoped this happened again.

seiga kaku?

im gonna actively try to keep myself concise and to single points because its been so easy for me in the past to get lost in wicked hermit thoughts and veer off who knows where... Part of it surely has to do with how a long time ago i used to have an rp blog on tumblr where i spent everyday thinking about seiga to some extent!

General opinion/How much I care about them: there was a long period of time where i would say without a doubt she was my single favourite character in touhou. I couldn't properly point to any one reason, or any tidy chain of events that might have led to it, other than learning about her, reading and seeing various very formative doujin works featuring her and the th13 crew, and maybe some old-fashioned projecting led me to latching onto every aspect of her... These days, there's a lot of touhous I obsess and go wild over and to even greater extents than her, but seiga objectively has the longest history of making me go a little nuts, whereas even aya took a little more time to nettle into my brain.

I like Seiga a lot and ive thought about her a lot, is what im getting at!

A ship I love: seiyoshi (seiga/yoshika) is funny in that it has a lot of little 'requirements' to me. Like if intepreted as just purely the evil hermit controlling a tool that she herself murdered to obtain, i think thats boring. But likewise, if its intepreted as just the hermit tragically trying to preserve her departed beloved, well that might be better but still lacking to me.

i couldnt possibly get across my ideal backstory for them right now, but the ultimate gist of it is that Seiga definitely did care for the living Yoshika who then died unexpectedly, before Seiga could decide herself whether she would commit to teaching her the ways of the hermit or simply get bored and move on. Her main motivation in performing the most ludicrously evil magic and create a jiangshi was because she refused to let even the natural order of life and death take anything away from her.

....Thaaaat all aside, i think their interactions in present day are just really funny 😄 Seiga 'spoiling' her dear Yoshika who laughs off being a meat shield because its not like she can die again!

A non-romantic relationship that I love: I think Seiga and Futo have the most oddball dynamic among the taoists and also Futo is probably the only one Seiga wouldn't have intense romanctic tension with. Futo who is a weirdo herself, acknowledges Seiga as their wise teacher of the arts (calling her seiga-donno) and yet also does not think of her as above any of them in their little personal hierarchy because Futo knows Seiga has no interest in being a proper retainer to Miko, so all of Futo's formalities almost come off as either sarcastic or as a really esoteric form of endearment. Meanwhile, Seiga probably thought a long time ago Futo would grow weary of things like loyalty and matters of noble blood or talking like an ancient old person, but none of that happened and Futo remains the same as ever, which has been altogether surprising, charming, and exasperating for Seiga (and everone else but they're all mostly charmed 😊)

The NOTP: i guess you'd have to work especially hard to get me to gel with pairing her up with any of myouren temple's folks. I get the temptation since every other taoist has one or two easily paired up counterpart there, but its not enough to just cross a checklist and leave it at that!

(that said, if you were gonna pair up buddhists and taosists thematically, i get why one might put seiga with shou since they were technically most vital in backstory with miko/byakuren respectively, and also because they both have a servant, one jiang-shi and a mouse. but i always thought seiga made a better parallel witn nue personally)

My biggest headcanon about them: most of this post is already headcanon, but as for another 'big' one...

I believe over the last thousand and whatever years, Seiga made semi-regular (as in maybe once every few years or a century?) visits to the tomb where Miko and gang slept, indulging and refreshing her memories of them, chatting up Tojiko who is now a ghost. And then sometime in 2011 right as her hermit senses told her it was finally time to meet them all again, she went to to tomb to greet them all only to find out literally the entire place was gone 😨

so all within like a week or something, Seiga had to go on a mad investigative quest where she discovered they had all been whisked to Gensokyo at some point, had to learn what the heck Gensoyko even is, how to get herself there, and then arrived just in time to get blasted by the incident resolvers. Really busy time in her life!

An idea for a fanfiction I would like to write/read about them: ha... one day, my multi-part seiga backstory fic incorporating every stray headcanon i've ever had. and then i quit writing forever maybe n_n

That aside, a funny scenario would be Okina appearing trying to stir drama because Seiga is basically the reason why Miko divorced Okina. And Seiga has no idea who she is or about any of that because Miko never mentioned it 😌

You smiled softly as you walked over to him, taking his suitcase from his hand and placing a kiss to his cheek. "Long day?"

"You have no idea" he sighed, running a hand through his blond hair and taking off his glasses. "Gojo, he-" you shushed him ny putting a finger to his lips. "Its ok Love. You can tell me all about it later. Right now, let's focus on getting you relaxed."

He smiled softly at your breezey attitude as you pulled him to the couch, forcing him to sit. It always amazed him, your ability to be so unbothered by anything. The world could be crashing down, and you'd assure him that the best thing to do now would be live in the moment. You were ok with things being out of your control. Honestly, it made him kinda jealous.

He watched as you went to the kitchen to pour some wine. "Ya know, I was thinking, maybe we could play a little mortal lombat tonight, then watch some trashy reality TV till we pass out. Whatcha think?" You smiled at him through the kitchen entry way.

You were speaking his language. "That sounds wonderful" he smiled as you returned to him, handing him the wine. A cherry merlot, his favorite. "What did I ever do to deserve you?" Nanami asked with a weary smile, kissing you gently.

"I don't know, but it must have been something pretty great" you chuckled as you curled into his side, getting your controller's ready. You put a blanket over you both. "You're right about that," Nanami nodded as he choose Noob Saibot. "Haha, noob" you teased him, bumping shoulders with him as you choose Reptile.

"So what about you? How was work today?" Nanami asked, preparing to loose. You were one of the few people that could beat him in this game. "Oh, it was shit." You laughed, "One of my clients bailed last minute and didn't pay for any of the work done, so, the company is in the hole for like, 500 grand." You shrugged.

"Jesus!" The blond gasped, letting down his guard long enough for you to pull off your xray. "Ha! Got ya!" You smiled. "Y/n, your company is in the whole for 500,000 yen, how are you not more worried about that?" Your boyfriend asked as he tried to get his head back in the game.

You just shrugged. "I donno. It's not my problem once I clock out, ya know?" You informed him. Nanami just shook his head and took a drink of his wine. "You're something else my dear" he chuckled. "I know" you smiled sweetly as you finished him off. "Its why you love me."

"It sure is" he agreed, proving it with a kiss

idk where you are but jic i have no idea how self employment taxes work in the USA and i donno what a LLC is either 🫡 im in canada and i just fill out the usual T4 form.

i know that for both canada and the usa turbotax is a bad company so u dont wanna be filing with them but yeah. i think the usa has a free govt tool for it now? honestly i should know more, im not an expert by any stretch. i dont really like doing it and i have to force myself to sit through learning about it and such so i havent really got any good sources at hand.

Okay so I don’t want to be the person that makes everything a trans allegory, but this is bugging me.

Spoilers for bg3 (I’m only on act 3 so i haven’t finished the game yet, but spoilers for the rest of the game I guess)

Okay so at the beginning of the game I took a few of the tadpole powers and I’m seriously regretting it. Now that I know that the emperor is a mindflayer and had no intention of curing me I’m feeling VERY betrayed. I’m more worked up about this than I reasonably should be, but It’s making me feel weirdly bad. I’ve never had a video game make me feel this way so I’m a bit perplexed.

Ive been thinking about it a little bit and I started to realize something. I view my character as me, they look and sound different from me, but they are always an idealized version of myself (female, beautiful, kind, yes I know I’m boring). I’ve now been faced with the prospect that I am going to be turned into some horrible monster that embodies none of the traits that i want for myself…

can i be honest i find the “we have no healthcare only money for war” type phrase to be gross while yeah agreeing with making antiwar sentiment popular and finding ways to package it for more people and the need for free & abundant healthcare All Over The Earth And Right Now. i understand its good to make this a clear demand backed by the vast majority of people. i understand its a crowdpleaser of a sentence which i guess is good. something for people to think about and fuel their anger in addition to what should already fuel their anger enough. so. sure. i guess. i donno.

it just feels so fucking bleak and inappropriately timed to me. how can you see hospitals being bombed and connect something like that to your own healthcare. i physically cant stop thinking about premature babies left to decompose they didnt have healthcare either when they needed it most. people going through the most intense nightmarish indescribable violence and trauma and illness including covid all without enough medical supplies amputations without anesthesia

and i dont really care if it sounds nitpicky you should understand im speaking genuinely here about my feelings i just really believe it to be selfish to pair these things together rn im always going to be thinking its kinda just morally fucked. really doesnt sit right to focus on yourself and benefits you could be receiving with usa riches when that money is used now and has been used to destroy human lives overseas and the earth itself. bombing children makes people mad enough and sure it can be effective to mention the taxdollars but theres better ways to get average people to care and the thing is average people DO care already. and where that fucking repulsive hoard money should go instead well there does need to be universal healthcare already but also that insane amount of war money desperately needs to be redistributed to the people who are facing the effects of usmilitary. to each according to his needs etc etc

How do you draw humans

hrrmm i donno if i can like. give you a satisfactory answer but i can give you advice!!! ive been drawing for a while and most of that has been humans! i can give you a rundown of my process, some tips, and also a speedpaint since procreate automatically records that stuff.

FIRST OF ALL!!! reference images do you wonders. even if its just to see how big a hand should be in comparison to a head, or how long the arms/legs should be in comparison to the torso. hell, maybe even trace poses every once in a while from irl images. having an understanding of the anatomy can be really helpful for drawing the human body. at the same time tho, dont be too strict about anatomy. a lot of artists who are first learning to draw humans often make the mistake of having poses look too stiff. treat anatomy and reference images as a guideline, and dont be afraid to experiment with stylistic choices!! furthermore, be willing to bend the rules of anatomy to make a drawing look more fluid!!! like, its art. go nuts, you know? and reference images dont stop at irl images tho. dont be afraid to take pages out of other peoples books and try other techniques curated by other artists. don't trace them, obviously, but you really can just cherry pick your favorite aspects of an artstyle and use it to make your own. thats what every artstyle is, at its core.

NOW!! as for how i go about it, i start with the head. for me, the head size determines the size of everything else. ive drawn heads more than i have bodies tbh, and how i draw faces is a whole can of worms. but i digress.

the build of a person can change a lot. shapes are very important. for example, if i wanted to give someone broad shoulders, id give them more of a trapezoid shape for their chest, and maybe make their hips not as. wide. you know those old art tutorials that are like "draw women with BIRTH GIVING HIPS and PETITE FEMININE FEATURES and DOE EYES so your audience knows theyre FEMALE. and draw men with NO HIPS and HUGE SHOULDERS and BULGING MUSCLES and A JAWLINE THAT CAN CUT DIAMONDS as well as being generally built like a BRICK SHITHOUSE" yeah anyways those are bullshit, but doing stuff like that certainly can help with character. like, dont be afraid to give men soft features and women broad shoulders. non binary people? idk draw whatever you want.

im kinda bad at explaining this stuff, but tldr; art is a lawless land. the best way to learn how to draw humans is to practice, observe, and experiment. there is no penalty for anatomically incorrect art, and the only "bad" art is made by bad people for a bad purpose, meaning: dont be afraid to start somewhere. good luck!! <3

Masamune: romantic | dramatic | eternal (fav guy and fav routes)

Shingen: romantic | dramatic (not my type but damn I'd be lying if I say I didn't fall for him in his routes)

Nobunaga: romantic | dramatic (rather have you as an older brother figure, but you sure can be fun). sign me up for a late-night konpeito heist.

Sasuke: Romantic & Dramatic (routes SUPER fun. Guy's also super fun). Preferance: dramatic. Side story for both full love bonus is awesome!

Mitsunari: Romantic (the incomparable angel)

Keiji: Romantic (feeling: complicated. Sometimes I hate him, other times I like him well enough. His route is different but in a good way I guess?)

Kenshin: Romantic, Dramatic. (was worried but I think I like MC in his route. Ngl did fall for him despite his yandere-ing. Although, it's probably because I expected worse). Prefer his romantic cause we get to see them all plotting to bring him back, Mai as the Goddess of War. Ah, that was such a cool scene.

Motonari: Dramatic | Romantic (boy is he wild. But nope, not my thing - looks hot tho). I surprised myself by finishing both his routes this early hahah. Liked him much better on my 2nd gameplay but gosh will I always dislike that first couple of chapters.

Hideyoshi: Romantic | Dramatic (an extremely much needed break after the prev 3 guys. Worried I would dislike his route. But I love it. Him too. Very much. Fav parts: MC saying she will not send him a letter & her threatening Mitsuhide)

Ieyasu: Dramatic | Romantic Annnd that's my first Ieyasu route completed (dramatic). Enjoyed it more than I expected since Tsunderes aren't my thing, I was worried that I would've dislike his route but it turns out alright. I am a little sad that there weren't much of Sasuke fanboying moments but yeah overall things are still fine. Not sure yet how it goes in my ranking of routes I've done tho. Romatic: i've left it too long between reading and writing this.. so I'm sorry but I really forgot how things go. BUT. I think I enjoyed dramatic more.

Yoshimoto: Romantic (very dramatic. And it's not even the dramatic route. I love it.)

Yukimura: Dramatic | Dramatic (sometimes, you need to get yourself an awkward, tactless, yet super sweet guy who'll chase after you and call you dummy. Not fav LI but my 2nd fav route to play).

Mitsuhide: romantic. ohoho. I am warming up to this guy.

Kanetsugu: dramatic | romantic. His smile. His SMILE. I melt every time. Both routes were awesome! But I'll pick dramatic over romantic cause of that one Azuchi mother hen-ing scene 😂

Kennyo: Dramatic. That was pretty good actually.

IkeVamp Routes completed:

Leonardo: romantic | dramatic (is he the sweetest guy ever or is there someone who competes for this position?)

Vlad: dramatic (quite the bittersweet route. I love him)

Jean: romantic (boy be breaking my heart with his story. Extra love given to this man.)

Napoleon: dramatic. A lovely, lighter, more humorous read (compared to previous two).

Isaac: dramatic & romantic (adorable 100%. Need I say more?)

Dazai: romantic (thoughts tbc)

Faust: dramatic. Welp, this is one dramatic, red-flagged guy. Kidnapping, threats, dubious consent (?). Then again, it's pretty much expected/we've been warned. I donno but I was quite excited about playing his route but now that I've finished it.. I donno. I thought I would've enjoyed it more maybe? (This is why expectations are dangerous). I like the drama esp that beginning and learning about his softer sides especially with his interactions with the orphanage children (I love these scenes) but, I'm feeling like there's something.. missing. Maybe it's just me these past month because it has been a very busy, full of change month for me outside of my otome games. Im just here trying to divide my braincell for everything 🙃 . I'll replay his route once I'm properly settled in.

Arthur: Romantic. I love his route, how complicated things are between him and his past and him and Emma. With their very rocky start, how the comes to be be friends and their feelings, all to aware that both could not hope to fall in love with the other. Despite the complications, things aren't messy (I'm not refering to how Arthur himself's a mess). I think the route's written quite well, and it really does messes with your feelings (I like routes that gives me strong feelings, good and bad)

Theo: Romantic. Love how he's so insistent at going to the future for MC. I haven't seen any in Sengoku (not incl sasuke cause he future person) or other Vampire suitors yet that offers to do so. Overall, I enjoyed his route. I wish there were more..

Shakespeare: Dramatic. It's awesome.

Charles: Romantic. Ugly-crying almost the whole time. Is it my hormones? Is it purely Charles? I'll never truly know. But I love his route, though I'll never forgive cybird for that one chapter for toying with my emotions like that.

Vincent: Dramatic. Pretty lovely. It has that pure, gentle feeling like the man himself. Oh but I didn't think I would hate Shakespeare as much as I did in this route. Well, it's for the plot after all.

Comte: it was a fun ride. Got so many new dresses 😌

Interlude: very enjoyable. Nice seeing lots of friendship/family dynamics and more of everyone

IkeVill routes completed:

William Rex: Mad love - I like the story. Warming up to the game and concepts. Guy wise, it's kinda hard to get a proper sense of him through translation apps but I might put him on my like-as-friends or neutral acquaintance group.

Liam Evans: Both Ends - my fav being Blind End. best boy 😭 the sweetest man I could ever ask for. But oh the pain, the hurt, the tragic backstories. The amount of times I cried.

Harrison Gray: Blind Love - did a speed run through so can't remember much right now since I am updating this like after finishing a whole different route later. But. I remember thinking that it gives the most adventurous feeling between the others I've played.

Elbert Greetia: Mad Love - Quite enjoyed the route, though El's back story was disturbing. Love the whole El, Al, and Kate relationship side of things.

Koihana Bakumeiroku

Hijikata - First route I've ever finished and well, there were parts I was confused about but did figured out in other routes I have not finished playing yet (Kido and Katsu). I liked it.
