All That's Left follows two journalists and their friends in post-apocalyptic United States as they travel from the fallen east coast megalopolis Opportunity back to Los Angeles, crossing through a harsh wasteland overrun with zombies— only to find out that there is a lot more life left than what the protected cities want them to believe. On their journey they meet dozens of people living their lives as peaceful as possible away from military forces, corporations, and corrupt governments; and they learn that the same mutated ghouls that took down Opportunity are spreading rapidly through the country, destroying everything in their path.
Will this finally be the end of the world as we know it?

Mikhail and Vitali were inseparable; when they weren’t studying or getting into fights, they would hang out at Mikhail’s place to smoke and get drunk on cheap rum and vodka, to then pass out in each other’s arms and sleep most of the next day away.
They promised each other— no matter what would happen— they would never leave each other’s side. Yet after starting university and college respectively, they did not see each other for a little over six years, leaving them both heartbroken and wondering what went wrong.

"The outer reaches of space remain unexplored by humankind to this day, but its greed is relentless. We grasp and yearn and hunger for knowledge— answers to questions we cry out into the endless void expecting to understand, expecting the stars to respond. The stars will not, but one day something else will— and we will not like what it has to say." — Rome Solomon, Beyond the Exosphere (1965)

Of course Aubrey had heard of the Council before. I mean– who hadn’t? They didn’t necessarily rule the streets, or Night City’s underworld for that matter, but they sure as hell loved to rub their asses all over it at any given opportunity and never in his years of being a fixer himself had he felt the need to associate himself with any of them.
He understood why it was necessary, sure– the agreements they made and the city-wide gang activity they monitored and reported to one another were a vital part of ensuring business stability as well as their own survival– but he knew the biz well enough to not trust the feigned kindness and so-called sense of community they supposedly aimed for.
Everyone always had their own agenda. None of it was simply out of the kindness of their hearts, to ensure the safety of the innocent citizens of Night City– it would be naive of him to think so and by then he knew better than to let wishful thinking cloud his judgment.

Not many encounter one of the Unfathomable Ones and live to tell the tale; and certainly not many go looking for one on purpose in the first place. Sascha did, now a warlock of the great Cthulhu, capable of channeling cosmic energy into spellcasting abilities- blessed and cursed with the knowledge of the universe, not consumed by the eldritch madness that takes most of those who have been touched by the Great Old One. At least, not yet.

‘Get up,’ Kaida spat at her, xyr voice dripping with mockery as xe steadied xemself and deployed xyr mantis blades, the edges of it shimmering with poison. ‘We need you in shape for this mission. You are aware of the urgency.’
‘It hurts.’ Hanan’s voice was distorted, voice module knocked out of place, taste of blood spilling over her tongue into her throat- vision spinning around her as she struggled to keep her balance, her single Kiroshi failing to focus on her target.
‘Of course it fucking hurts.’ A cold, feigned laugh, the sharp edge cutting straight through Hanan’s skull.
‘It’s supposed to.’
