Megatron

-He's quite busy (being intimidating is a full-time job, after all), but he doesn't mind if you accompany him on his bridge, chattering away about your interests or quietly entertaining yourself in some corner of the ship while he commands his troops.

-He does ask questions from time to time about your hyperfixations and special interests. If it's something he happens to like or be knowledgeable about, he will gladly talk to you about it and share a lot of information on the subject.

-He mostly leaves you alone during a meltdown or if you are overstimulated. It's not to be rude, he just doesn't really know what to do. He will be a bit more kind to you afterward, though.

Starscream

-Like Megatron, he mostly just listens to you ramble about things you like. He replies sometimes if it's something he happens to have an interest in. These conversations mostly happen when he takes you on flights.

-Privately does a bit of research with Kockout's help so he can better understand neurodivergence. It actually helps him better understand his own mental state and his brothers' as well.

-If he notices you are struggling, he might take you to a quiet room. He doesn't say anything if you thank him, but he is secretly glad he could help someone.

Soundwave

-The perfect partner to ramble to. He has recordings of all the times you've info-dumped to him, and he listens to them often when he's alone.

-Sometimes fidget toys or plushies of things you like will randomly appear. He doesn't mention it, and neither do you. You don't even know how he got them, but you appreciate it.

-After an outburst or meltdown, he lets you play with Laserbeak and plays back a recording of a time when you talked to him about one of your interests. It helps surprisingly well.

-Dissociates with you.

Knockout

-Literally showers you with fidget toys, sensory items, anything related to your interests, any physical affection you need, and literally any item you may ever need.

-Kind of gets upset if you don't make eye contact with him, but then jokes you are blinded by his finish and that's why you aren't looking at him.

-Seems to be always judging your haircut. Makes low-taper fade jokes. You don't know how he knows what that is. You threaten to give him a low-taper fade. He does it in a joking manner, though.

Breakdown

-Be ready for his golden retriever energy, because he can be a lot. He will respect your boundaries, but you might have to remind him a few times.

-Creates a sensory-safe place for you on the Nemesis. Lots of soft pillows and blankets, a few fidget toys, and even a pair of noise cancelling headphones. You’re still not sure how he even got ahold of them. -Has already fought anyone who even looks at you the wrong way or is too loud. He will do it again.

Dreadwing

-Honestly, he’s probably nuerodivergent himself. You take turns talking about your interests. He shows you his weapon collection and starts training you in the art of explosives, whether you like it or not.

-Often, if you need calming down or just want someone to talk to, he tells you stories about his twin. You are positive you know more about Skyquake than you do himself.

-Entirely picks you up and moves you to a quiet room during breakdowns and just sits with you and waits.

Can you write something about Bubba with an autistic girlfriend who helps him with meat prep and stuff? They probably walk the chicken together and he loves watching her draw.

I personally headcannon that Bubba uses he/they pronouns

I generally believe bubba is Neurodivergent/Austistic! So when they meets you he stops in his tracks and gets excited! Someone like him!!

If you stim Bubba will stim with you his stims are more auditory but I believe they stims by shaking his chainsaw -> he does it a few times in the movie

He will do his best to help you when your overstimulated -> the Sawyer household is pretty chaotic and loud so sometimes you guys hide in your shared room together or the basement

If you wanna help with the meat Bubba squeals and will hug you! his love wants to help him!!

Loves teaching you how to prepare the meat and package it!!

They will also wanna show you how he makes his masks!

Teaches you how to clean and take care of a chainsaw -> he totally gives you one of his lighter and smaller ones and you guys are a power couple!!

You guys walking their chicken is such a cute concept -> it comes about when you've had a particularly hard day bubba grabs her and asks you to come with him. It's a nice activity you guys do bc it gets you away from the loud twins and the grumpy Drayton

I plan on doing headcannons about Bubba w a artistic S/O so the drawing headcannon will wait till then!

I will say they love watching you draw! And if you give him any drawings they displays them throughout the house!

I feel like I have made 4 of my characters a little too diverse, except for it happening organically

These 4 are siblings. A girl, a boy, and a pair of twins, also a girl and a boy.

All 4 are biracial and nuerodivergent(the elder girl has ADHD, the elder boy, Autism and ADHD, the twin boy Autsim, and the twin girl ADHD)

The elder are 2 are queer(the girl is a lesbian) and the boy is bisexual, the twin boy questioning if he's somewhere on the ace spectrum). They're all cisgender.

The elder two are side characters, the focus isnt on them. However, they do have partners that will only be mentioned once, as they have their own stories going on outside of this one.[The elder boy isn't in a relationship, just has a crush, and there will be a throwaway line of his siblings asking when they'll met his partner]

The elder two were already queer as I just couldnt see them in realtionships.

Originally I wanted biracial characters, then I was having trouble writing the boy twin, so I added him having autism and about 50 things clicked.

Then my autistic friend pointed out his family should also be nuerodivergent for the sake of reality.

My question is if they're too diverse? As if they're charcaters that tick every box for the sake of ticking every box?

My entire family is likely ADHD and this is not a rare occurrence, there are memes about it. If the entire family is ADHD, people may not realize certain things are symptoms because it is normal around them, but it definitely happens. Both autism & adhd can be genetic so it definitely makes sense for it to be more common within 1 family

And my partner's family? All 3 kids are trans. Not just some way queer, but trans-- my partner is nb and both their siblings are trans. They are all all gay/bi.

Don't worry. Having some neurotypicals for foils may be an okay thing to do, but you don't need it. We all know what neurotypical looks like. And I can tell you, a situation like this 100% exists a million times over in real life. In fact I so want to see more queer neurodivergent groups of people because that is all of my freinds/peers.

(Not ignoring the being biracial on top of it, but being siblings, them all being biracial makes sense.)

Characters don't need to be just one thing. Even if the whole group isn't just one thing.

And seeing how these shared experiences shape their relationships is something I want to see more of!

Disaster twins strike again! This show has fucking fantastic disability/nuerodivergency/queer representation and I adore it!

So, my headcanons after the movie:

Leo:

Suffers from chronic pain and fatigue; has weaker lungs and immune system; and has to use a cane to keep himself steady in case he has a dizzy spell. Uses a c-pap to make sure he breathes when he sleeps; and he has some emergency oxygen tubing that he puts on if he’s really having a hard time breathing.

Has nightmares, ptsd, and frequent panic attacks; all involving weightlessness, falling, or just the feeling of Krang beating the shit outta him.

Often uses compression clothes to help with sensory issues. The whole gang tend to wander around the lair in comfy clothes nowadays. Everyone needs the extra comfort.

Has a real nasty case of tinnitus and wears hearing aides to help with that. I just realize the don’t really have ears, just ear slits. So instead, he wears noise canceling headphones (him and Donnie have a habit of kidnapping each other’s headphones) that donnie has modified to act as hearing aids, filtering in the outside sound

Leo’s Gay as Fuck (I mean Da Vinci is so proud of this boy), and he’s a demi boy. He definitely has adhd and quite the handful of nuerodivergency disorders. Like he has some nasty dyslexia and tonal issues. AMAB pronouns: he/they

Donnie:

Makes a softer battle shell for around the house, but refuses to take it off unless they’re bathing, or slapping some ointment on it. It definitely bubbled and blistered after being attached to the Krang’s nuerotech (he was very proud of coming up with that name); his arms also had a similar nasty rash, but it was no where near as bad.

His eyes glow in the dark, eerie and blank, but quite powerful, they illuminate a good distance around him, but he himself can only see shadows.

His nerves are incredibly rebellious after being merged like that. Sometimes he can’t feel shit, others it’s a weird electrical tingle that passes through, and most often it’s his nerves all feeling like they’re catching on fire. He was used to sensory issues from his nuerodivergency, but this was a fucking whole other level.

He does a lot of data collection and processing over all the shit that they have left over from the Krang attack. It helps him process all the fucking horrors they went through.

Pronouns: He/They. Gender: agender. He’s an aromantic bisexual (or at least bi and somewhere on the aroace spectrum) AFAB

General:

ASL comes back in full force. When Donnie was little there were times he’d go nonverbal (hell, Raph still does go nonverbal when he gets to anxious (Savage Raph)), but he slowly grew outta it. Now, they all have nonverbal days and ASL has become a major part of their speaking. Most of them will sign while speaking outta habit, and not even realize it.

Turtle cuddle piles become the norm; they’ve turned the common area into a huge cushiony pillow fort of sorts. All the good blankets, textures, all of it, they pile in there. There’s also a closet that they transformed into a hideaway cove of sorts for anyone needing to be alone, so then they won’t be too far.

They take a pretty long break from any kind of hero work, at least 6 months. But after that, everyone was on a break. Hell, hypno and warren had brunch with the turtles once a month. They’ve reached a nice frenemy status, and honestly, the couple feels fucking horrible for what went down with the Krang.

Everyone goes to therapy!!! Especially CJ, Draxum, and Splinter; while everyone goes for help processing the attack, these three have trauma that haunts them from long before.

CJ has survivor’s guilt, c-ptsd, and a shitty relationship with food since it wasn’t always available, and the youngest and the fighters always had eating priority. He also fucking hates Draxum, cuz in his timeline Draxum gains a god/savior-complex; he decides that it would be better for the hidden city to be destroyed than for the Krang to have it. Donnie and Raph (while on CJ babysitting) found out, and went to stop him. But he beheaded donnie, in front of 4 year old CJ, then murder-suicided the entire city. Raph managed to get themselves out.

After hearing the devastating news that au him beheaded his own son and destroyed the very thing he swore to protect… and he wasn’t surprised… Draxum realized he wants to make his kids proud (especially Mikey, who poured so much love into him, even when he didn’t want it) So, he agrees to therapy. With a licensed therapist who wasn’t his child.

There he realizes he was raised in an insane bloodthirsty cult, and he was literally raised to be a child soldier. He spends a long time unlearning the cult mentality he grew up with. (And yes I am very much projecting my own feelings of learning that your parents religious ideology functioned more like a cult than a religion)

Splinter has to deal with his fucking trauma from Big Mama. Like, she abused the fuck outta him and he *still*, to this day, believes she can be fixed/redeemed. He has to unlearn a lot of shit, and his relationship with Draxum (the glorious nebulous divorcée vibes) is far healthier and it helps him better understand the way relationships are supposed to work. Oh, and he learns how to properly process grief and depression.

Anyway, I have lots of post movie feels, and quite a few 2012 crossover notes that I may or may not do something with (don’t worry, no 2012 hate; them characters just need therapy and a huge group huge/cuddle pile)
