Thoughts on the Transformers One Trailer

okay, I think my brain is calm enough to make an adequate post about this.

I initially hated Orion’s design (everyone else is..okay), but I thought the same thing when I saw several of the characters in Earthspark. I quickly got over that, as I love Earthspark. I think I will be okay with the animation as Cybertron looks very stunning, though I do feel that the cybertronians themselves look a little too toy-like. I know that the goal of transformers media is to sell toys, but still. The humor is… not great. It seems a bit too catered to a younger audience. This is fine, I guess, since transformers is mostly for a child audience anyway. I just think it doesn’t exactly fit with the story this is supposed to tell. Speaking of the story…what the hell? What is this “surface” nonsense? I don’t remember anything about them not being able to transform. This doesn’t follow any storyline I know of, though I am mostly familiar with the aligned continuity, so I may be wrong.

I was so ready to see all of the complex politics, such as Soundwave and Shockwave’s joining of the Decepticons. I want to see all the changes for good Megatron thought he was making. I assume there will be some of that, but this is just really different and I honestly am really disappointed. I wanted more vibes of Prime. Even if it is for a younger audience, I wanted more than a typical heroic quest story. The war is a political issue, not a magical quest thing issue.

I am happy to see Soundwave, Shockwave, and Starscream. Their designs are good, though Soundwave’s is a little questionable.

I saw another post with a screenshot of what looks like and Skywarp, which is awesome. I miss them. I am also very happy about the possibility of a Quintession. It’s been so long without one. Also was that Arachnid or Black Arachnia? I have issues with beastwars but it would be cool to see either of them. I really love how they designed Cybertron. It’s so much more than a technological, metallic city-like planet. I think I will really enjoy that aspect of the movie.

All in all, I’ll definitely still watch it. I love transformers. I may be disappointed, but I’ll make the best of it. At the very least, I will appreciate the characters.

Megatron

-He's quite busy (being intimidating is a full-time job, after all), but he doesn't mind if you accompany him on his bridge, chattering away about your interests or quietly entertaining yourself in some corner of the ship while he commands his troops.

-He does ask questions from time to time about your hyperfixations and special interests. If it's something he happens to like or be knowledgeable about, he will gladly talk to you about it and share a lot of information on the subject.

-He mostly leaves you alone during a meltdown or if you are overstimulated. It's not to be rude, he just doesn't really know what to do. He will be a bit more kind to you afterward, though.

Starscream

-Like Megatron, he mostly just listens to you ramble about things you like. He replies sometimes if it's something he happens to have an interest in. These conversations mostly happen when he takes you on flights.

-Privately does a bit of research with Kockout's help so he can better understand neurodivergence. It actually helps him better understand his own mental state and his brothers' as well.

-If he notices you are struggling, he might take you to a quiet room. He doesn't say anything if you thank him, but he is secretly glad he could help someone.

Soundwave

-The perfect partner to ramble to. He has recordings of all the times you've info-dumped to him, and he listens to them often when he's alone.

-Sometimes fidget toys or plushies of things you like will randomly appear. He doesn't mention it, and neither do you. You don't even know how he got them, but you appreciate it.

-After an outburst or meltdown, he lets you play with Laserbeak and plays back a recording of a time when you talked to him about one of your interests. It helps surprisingly well.

-Dissociates with you.

Knockout

-Literally showers you with fidget toys, sensory items, anything related to your interests, any physical affection you need, and literally any item you may ever need.

-Kind of gets upset if you don't make eye contact with him, but then jokes you are blinded by his finish and that's why you aren't looking at him.

-Seems to be always judging your haircut. Makes low-taper fade jokes. You don't know how he knows what that is. You threaten to give him a low-taper fade. He does it in a joking manner, though.

Breakdown

-Be ready for his golden retriever energy, because he can be a lot. He will respect your boundaries, but you might have to remind him a few times.

-Creates a sensory-safe place for you on the Nemesis. Lots of soft pillows and blankets, a few fidget toys, and even a pair of noise cancelling headphones. You’re still not sure how he even got ahold of them. -Has already fought anyone who even looks at you the wrong way or is too loud. He will do it again.

Dreadwing

-Honestly, he’s probably nuerodivergent himself. You take turns talking about your interests. He shows you his weapon collection and starts training you in the art of explosives, whether you like it or not.

-Often, if you need calming down or just want someone to talk to, he tells you stories about his twin. You are positive you know more about Skyquake than you do himself.

-Entirely picks you up and moves you to a quiet room during breakdowns and just sits with you and waits.

My preferred name is Jay, I'm 18 and I don't really mind what pronouns people use but I do prefer to mainly go by she/they pronouns. I'm omnisexual with a preference for women.

I absolutely love horror movies and listening to music, reading, playing video games, writing story ideas (that will never be continued), dark humour jokes, murder mystery films and true crime related media. On the other hand though I hate most birds, people who lie to me, when Christmas music gets played months before Christmas actually happens, being ignored and when people try to invade my personal - try to hug me etc - without asking to make sure it's okay with me.

My personality type if I remember is Intj, I see myself as an ambivert as I'm normally quite quiet around people I don't really know that well but I do become much more extrovert around people who I'm close friends with. I would say I say I have anger issues as well but it comes across as passive aggressive (idk if that makes sense). I love listening to gossip and talking about gossip. If I hear anyone mention a fandom that I hyperfixate on, I will rant about it! I also have broken humour and will laugh at the slightest thing despite it not actually being funny.

I'm about 5'6 with shoulder length blonde hair with layers and blue/grey eyes. I also wear glasses. I'm currently at college studying acting and Performance.

Some of my hobbies include dancing (ballet, street and modern), writing if I ever get a chance, singing, playing games such as pokemon, the sims, and animal crossing. Binge watching shows and reading murder mystery and horror books.
