10/07/2022 - Bars of Anti Roll
From time to time I have a quick look around the trucks to see if there is anything that appears on its way out or just looks tired. The Anti roll bars are exposed to the elements as much as most of the under side and as a result of a vehicle that’s 19 years old, the metal work is rusty where water ingress under the power coat eat away at the steel bars and the rubbers have cracked and perished.
So after visiting my preferred parts website (Paddock Spares) I order the complete replacement kit for both front and back.
Part number - STC8156AATD5
So I’m going to change this up and write up a step by step basic installation guide to help if you fancy tacking this swap out as well.
1.0 ANTI–ROLL BAR FRONT
1.01 Place the bushes on the anti-roll bar with the split pointing towards the axle.
1.02 Attach the anti-roll bar using the two straps with the angled sides of the bar pointing down.
1.03 Fit the bolts, washers and nyloc nuts loosely.
1.04 Fit bolt, washers and polyurethane bushes.
1.05 Attach anti-roll bar to ball joint links using new nuts.
1.06 Tighten to a torque of 68 Nm.
1.07 Tighten the nuts holding the strap to a torque of 30 Nm.
2.0 ANTI–ROLL BAR JOINT LINKS – FRONT
2.01 Attach the ball joint link with its arms pointing up, with the castellated nut.
2.02 Tighten to a torque of 40 Nm then fit new split pin.
2.03 Ensure anti-roll bar is in line with ball joint links.
2.04 Fit the bolts, washers and polyurethane bushes.
2.05 Secure the anti-roll bar using new self locking nuts.
2.06 Tighten to a torque of 68 Nm.
3.0 ANTI–ROLL BAR REAR
3.01 Place the polyurethane bushes on the anti-roll bar with the split pointing towards the axle.
3.02 Attach the anti-roll bar using the two straps with the ball joint link arms pointing down.
3.03 Fit the bolts, washers and nyloc nuts loosely.
3.04 Fit the bolts, washers and polyurethane bushes.
3.05 Attach anti-roll bar to ball joint links using new nuts.
3.06 Tighten to a torque of 68 Nm.
3.07 Tighten the nuts holding the straps to a torque of 30 Nm.
4.0 ANTI–ROLL BAR BALL JOINT LINKS – REAR
4.01 Attach the ball joint link with its arms pointing down, with the castellated nut.
4.02 Tighten to a torque of 40 Nm and fit new split pin.
4.03 Ensure anti-roll bar is in line with ball joint links.
4.04 Fit the bolts, washers and polyurethane bushes.
4.05 Secure the anti-roll bar using new self locking nuts.
4.06 Tighten to a torque of 68 Nm.
It’s one of the easier jobs I’ve done, and the post test drive is it feels more taught around corners. Though I’m sure the old dampers could do with swapping out as well in future to really have the round the corner on rails experience.. ha! I’m joking.

But, for now, it's the Easter weekend: maintenance Sunday....
Looking ahead to a bike trip in May, if not April, thoughts turn to luggage carrying. While the Aeroe system looks good, there are already far too many people spending hundreds of pounds on future landfill to facilitate their once-a-year bike holiday. I don't want to be part of that problem. I'm constantly trying to divest myself of 'stuff,' not add to it, so I intend adapting gear I already have: the Old Man Mountain rack on the commuter, and the fork racks on the mountain bike.
Remember when all frames used a single standard method of attaching the rear wheel, allowing you to easily swap components between bikes? When MTBs weren't one trick ponies, so they'd come with a variety of mounting points...? The old OMM rack went on the Cannondale monstercross quickly and easily with the aid of a couple of quids' worth of 10mm aluminium spacers and extended bolts from eBay.
My little Carradice panniers stay on well (better than Ortleib) but the bottom clip can pop out on rough ground, and they rattle around a bit like many such bags. Easy solution: mount the fork racks such that I can strap dry bags either side of the rear wheel, leaving the top of the OMM rack free for supplies picked up en route. Loads of heel clearance for my mahoosive size 50 feet, zero rattle and movement. Cost on eBay? Less than a tenner for a bag of 12mm p-clips, bolts and nyloc nuts.
That'll work.

THATS SO REAL. crazier is when we made the freshmen sort the screws (because lets be so fr what else are they good for /j) and they kept dropping 1/4 20s into the 8-32 bins like STOPPP THATS NOT WHERE THAT GOES!!!!! also they couldnt tell the difference between a nyloc (reg or low profile) from a regular old non-locking nut. we know that if we got nothing to do theres always a bin that needs sorting 😭😭😭😔😔😔🙏🙏🙏 no matter if its mechanical or electrical or software

Loren Fullmoon, Timelost Worgen Survivalist
Important Stories:
The Timelost Worgen: While out foraging for food in the ruins of what was once Westfall, a temporal anomaly launches Loren and her two avian companions out of her own timeline into the Titan's timeline.
Culture Shock: Waking on the Isle of Dorn, Loren and several other timelost refugees make their way to Dornogal. Upon encountering Jaie Swiftpaw she meets Nelen, who she immediately recognizes as her cousin from Gilneas.
Wolves of Different Breeds: Loren and Nelen share a drink together in Dornogal as she makes one thing perfectly clear: she has no intention of willingly going back to her home timeline.
Race: Worgen (Infected Gilnean)

Residence: Currently Homeless
Abilities:
Survivalist: In her own timeline Loren has survived the end of the world. She is an expert at foraging and using any prey animals to their utmost, perhaps even moreso than Sekhi.
Varied Arsenal: Loren has knowledge of making alchemical bombs and poisons and is skilled with both the spear and a bowgun. She is a very versatile fighter able to adapt quickly to many situations.
Morri and Suranol: Her two companions. Morri is a Gilnean raven that she has kept as a pet for years, but is perfectly capable of pecking a foe's eyes out see if he don't. Suranol is a somnowl who was the companion of a Night Elf she had known in her home timeline who was one of the victims of the War of Thorns. She took Suranol in after his former partner perished in Teldrassil's destruction.
History
Loren is another of the timelost, those who were torn from their home timelines into the Titan's Timeline... but unlike the others she has no desire to go back!
In her own timeline both Anduin Wrynn and Sylvannas Windrunner perished at the siege of the Undercity following the War of Thorns, and after this the Blood War escalated beyond the point of no return.
With the death of King Wrynn, along with Genn Greymane and Alleria Windrunner, the leadership of Stormwind fell to a hastily formed council of nobles who saw the Horde as nothing but barbarians worthy only of extermination.
Working with several magi and Jaina Proudmoore, who for whatever reason had not been present at the Undercity in this timeline, they recreated Garrosh's mana bomb... but far more powerful. They unleashed it upon Orgrimmar, but the results were more than any had expected.
The blast had cratered not just the city but much of Durotar and the explosion had caused a chain reaction. Earthquakes shook the land, storms erupted, hidden wells of azerite ignited, and when the dust settled that was all that remained... dust. The Alliance and Horde were no more, the world decimated by a cataclysm worse than even Deathwing's efforts could have hoped for.
Loren was one of the few survivors left to eke out an existence in the ruins, until one day a temporal anomaly threw her out of her timeline into the Titan's Timeline.
In her own timeline her cousin Nelen Fullmoon had gone missing after Gilneas fell to the worgen, but in the Titans Timeline he was alive and well, and battling a rouge chronomancer named Nyloc Athel. Nyloc unleashed a powerful relic of the Bronze Dragonflight, but his misuse of it caused a paradox that tore at the timelines and pulled several others from their home timelines into the Titan's Timeline. Loren being one of them.
Trivia
Loren is based off another of my Supernatural Adventures characters by the same name. In that story she's part of a family of monster hunters based out of Ireland, Clan Fullmoon. Ironically enough the clan is known as that because they specialized in hunting werewolves, whereas in this universe she is a werewolf.
In the chapter Wolves of Different Breeds, Loren makes reference to other relatives she and Nelen shared in Gilneas named Stephanie, Franklin, and Roger. These are also characters from Supernatural Adventures which would imply that Clan Fullmoon exists both on Earth and Azeroth in a parallel fashion. One day I might explore this further...
