Obs webcam not working on mac for mac#
Obs webcam not working on mac update#
Obs webcam not working on mac pro#
While the brand has high-end webcams like Brio for 4K video quality, Logitech C920 is a more affordable alternative that serves almost all purposes without going extravagant. Logitech is a well-known brand with a broad range of webcams.
Built-in mic: 2 mics with automatic noise reduction.
So, it’s worth considering this aspect before choosing the webcam for your Mac. On the other hand, some come with companion apps to help you customize settings and provide additional compatibility.
Apps: Most webcams work universally with all apps without needing any additional software.
Further, you can usually just plug in the camera and set it up in a few minutes to work seamlessly with video software such as FaceTime, Zoom, or Skype. This might be a problem if you have a modern laptop that lacks this port, but don’t worry as newer webcams are coming with USB-C.
Connection standards: Most webcams come with a USB 3.0 connection.
Obs webcam not working on mac pro#
The best webcams offer up to 60fps, although that’s usually only needed for pro tasks such as e-sports or gaming.
Frame rates: A higher frame rate means a smoother video, so it needs to be at least 25-30 frames per second (fps).
Further, a wide-angle camera will let you step further back to give a presentation or use a whiteboard.
Useful features: A webcam can offer many bonus features to help you out, such as an in-built mic for better audio, autofocus, brightness adjustment, and noise reduction.
So, you should get a webcam with HD or 4K video capabilities for clear, high-quality video. The in-built iSight camera is pretty basic and offers 1280×720.
Resolution: This is one of the prime motivations to get a webcam for Mac.
Consider these points when deciding to buy the best external webcam for Mac: How to choose the best webcam for Macīefore you check out my recommendations, here’s what you need to know to make an informed decision for yourself. So, please check their availability on Amazon.
Obs webcam not working on mac update#
While we update this article regularly, the product may become unavailable in between. Note: Given the high demand for webcams, the best ones we picked out for this list run out of stock pretty quickly.
Obs webcam not working on mac for mac#
I’ve put together this guide with the best webcams for Mac based on your needs.īut first, let’s consider the parameter based on which I curated this list. Whether it’s for work, online school, connecting with friends and family, or streaming content, the right webcam will let you enjoy better video quality and many other features such as depth-sensing technology and enhanced sound quality. Given how life has changed over the past year and we’re all spending more time than ever on our computers, it’s worthy to invest in a good webcam for Mac. Although your Mac, like most laptops these days, comes with a built-in camera to chat or take photos and videos, it’s not the best resolution and looks noisy and flat.

Tumblr Live on Web!
Hello, Tumblr. Tumblr Live is coming to your desktop computers. If you’re in the US, you can now both stream and watch on web.
Tumblr Live on web means you’ll be able to use streaming software to share your screen on a stream. OBS (open broadcaster software), for example, enables you to stream to specific locations using multiple inputs like your webcam and a virtual camera—think side-by-side face cam and screen recording on a gaming stream. Having OBS integration really blows open a world of possibilities for Tumblr Live. Learn more about hosting a stream using OBS here.
Your ballpit awaits! What will you stream? Furby lengthening lessons? The Last of Us Pt. 1 replay? The Locked Tomb book club? Frog costume felting? Zhongli live draw? The Sims Seinfeld reenactment?

What you've all been waiting for
Trans girl with greasy hair fucks a computer girl with dusty vents
Answering questions before they're asked:
"Why is the quality so bad?"
This was recorded on a 15 euro webcam at 30fps
"Why is it so quiet?"
I did not know my voice would be that quiet until after recording. Later on it's sort of drowned out by the porn I was watching because I didn't know OBS was recording that. In hindsight I should've tested stuff more beforehand and put the headset mic closer to my mouth.
Can't really call it my magnum opus because it Fucking Sucks but oh well.

Daddy x The Babysitter
Last month I came up with an idea for a story prompt to get the writing juices flowing and several people joined in and wrote with this idea. I wanted to share all the participants linked in one place 💜.
PROMPT: Pick a Pedge Daddy character - Joel Miller, Frankie Morales, Dave York, etc. (it can be Canon or Non-Canon/AU/No Outbreak). PPCU Daddy is surprised - and excited - to learn that the grad/postgrad student he hires to watch his child sometimes also works as a: stripper/dancer/cam-girl/onlyfans-model/dating-or-escort-service (or straight-up SW)

With my school year ending and me graduating, I figured it's about time to announce something I've had in the works for a bit!
My very own Patreon!
Much as I'd love to quit my day job and write full-time, I got bills to pay and city living is expensive. So! This is a little extra for me, your friendly bartender/author/sewer dweller, and it also contains all sorts of fun bonus content! I feel like a big kid now <3
The Patreon is split into three tiers ($3 USD, $5 USD, $10 USD) with increasing rewards.
Keep reading for a detailed list of tier rewards, roadmap, and launch date!
Tumblr media
OPERATIVE ($3 USD) The basic tier! For 3 cheevos, you get:
Shorts, AUs, Snippets
Monthly Q&As*
Monthly roadmap/newsletter
*monthly Q&As will not be spoiler-free but will avoid deep-lore spoilers.
HUNTER ($5 USD) The mid-tier! For 5 cheevos, you too can have:
Everything in the OPERATIVE tier
Voting on next month's bonus content
DIRECTOR ($10 USD) Affirmative, Director! For 10 bucks, Director-tier patrons get:
Everything in the OPERATIVE and HUNTER tiers
Deep Lore Q&As, streamed on Twitch every month! (A living document of questions and answers and stream recordings will also be provided for people who can't make it to the streams!)
Alpha Tester access when Greenwarden: Book 1 enters alpha!
Tumblr media
As of now, the Patreon page is still unfinished (being worked on and Almost there, but not quite -- I want to put out some bonus content and work out some kinks before I actually publish it), but here's a roadmap on what to expect!
APRIL 2023
Set up a Twitch page, maybe buy a nice mic and webcam for the Deep Lore streams
Fine-tune Patreon
Develop bonus content to release on launch
Prep for Greenwarden's birthday
April 30th: Greenwarden monthly update
MAY 2023
Continue developing launch-day bonus content
Prep for Greenwarden's birthday
Create designated documents for questions
Test streaming to fine-tune Twitch page + OBS on my dinosaur computer
May 15th: Send out first Q&A form
May 30th: Greenwarden 1.0's birthday! 2.0 gets updated. Special birthday post
JUNE 2023
June 5th: Patreon launch! Relax a little. Publish bonus content, first poll
June 10th: First newsletter and Q&A responses roll out
June 15th: (Hopefully) first-ever Deep Lore Q&A!
June 30th: Greenwarden update
JULY 2023
July 5th: Bonus content, poll
July 10th: Newsletter, Q&A responses
July 15th: Deep Lore Q&A
July 30th: Greenwarden update
Hopefully by August, I'll get into a rhythm of post-and-development! Everything is subject to change, but I'll keep everybody updated if I have to spread things out a little further. I'm also hoping at some point to go on vacation and celebrate my finally graduating!
Thanks all!
And happy hunting :]

hello! I wonder what you use as streaming equip? I figured a fairly good capture card and mic, don't know much about the hellish technology though 🥲
Hello! So I don't have a capture card at all, I use a software called OBS (Open Broadcasting Software) which can capture the game on-screen. I have a Rode Procaster microphone and a Focusrite Scarlet audio interface (Others use a USB microphone!) - I also have a logitech webcam, and I use an Elgato LED panel light and Streamdeck. So there's a software side and a hardware side to stream equipment, happy to answer any questions you have on any particular part!

so im kiiiinda redoing half of my fic. to account for the, uh. "canonically being able to put gordon into the computer" thing.
on the one hand i think its a way better deal b/c i will look 10% less insane writing about benrey literally putting him into the sims and playing with him like a doll . but on the other hand i have a bunch of words about gordon fingering himself that i cant use anymore
so. here they are, for u. "Enjoy"
———
Gordon blinks at the screen.
Benry Benry wants to have Oraljob sex with Gordon Freeman. Do you wish to proceed?
The laugh that erupts from him is high-pitched and violent, leaving him gasping for air. Benrey cackles in his ear. “I— I— Oh my God,” Gordon wheezes, doubling over. “You want to have what with me?! We can’t— We can’t show that on a Christian channel! We’re going to get so banned—“
“do you want to—“ Benrey can’t finish the sentence, gripped in the most intense laughter Gordon’s ever heard from him. “do you want to have oraljob?”
Gordon clutches his desk, weeping and howling.
When he calms down from his sudden fit of hysterics, he clicks “No”, to a chorus of disappointment from the chat. “I know, I know,” he says, sympathetic, “but seriously, Papa’s gotta pay the bills. Gotta keep it clean. PG-13, that’s my motto.”
“then why’s your dick out,” Benrey wheezes.
“Very funny—“
He stops in his tracks when he sees that his dick is, in fact, out. His Sims dick, that is. Gordon slams his ‘commercial break’ button so hard that he misses a few keys and takes a screenshot.
“Whoa! Put that thing away, man!”
“nice,” Benrey says appreciatively.
“Bear with me, folks,” Gordon begs. “We’re having some, uh, technical difficulties.” Why did his dick pop out? He said no! (In fairness, his Sim is decidedly not having oraljob sex. He’s eating a sandwich. With his penis out.) He hurriedly clicks through menus upon menus, trying to find a way to put his clothes back on, but none of the options do what he wants. “Why can’t I put away my stupid dick?!”
“hey, look. you just went up a level in nudism,” Benrey snorts.
Gordon buries his head in his hands, but can’t stop himself from an anguished laugh. “Okay! Give me fifteen, everybody. Go smoke a cigarette— or, or vape, I know the kids are big on the Juul these days, I don’t care, I’m not your dad.”
With that, he ends the stream.
“What kind of fucking mods did you download on my computer?” he asks, exasperated. “I feel like I need to give it a bath.”
“normal ones.”
“Uh-huh. You know my dick’s not even rendering correctly, right?”
“huh?” Benrey zooms in on it. “huh. it’s, uh. checkered.”
[some sort of connecting thought]
“I don’t even look like that, anyway,” Gordon mutters, brushing him off.
Benrey peers down at him. The webcam light turns on, drawing Gordon’s eye. “huh. i dunno. i can see the, uh… the resemblance.” He enunciates the last word carefully.
“Did you just turn on my webcam? Are we streaming right now?” Gordon sits upright, hastily checking on his streaming software. Still offline. Not that it would have mattered - he’s panned away to look at a stray dog in his yard - but it’s the principle of the thing.
“yeah, uh. no,” mumbles Benrey.
Gordon closes down OBS and Firefox entirely. Just to be safe. “A little fucking warning next time? How did you even do that?”
“administrator privileges.”
There’s a pause. Then Gordon sinks back down into his chair, defeated. “I shouldn’t have given you those. I should have smashed you up into little pieces when I had the chance. After you bought fucking Burnout Paradise on my dime—“
“you should show me what you look like,” blurts out Benrey, voice low and blunt.
“I— What?”
“i can make it look better. more like you.”
Gordon stares at the screen. Benrey avoids his gaze. He boggles a little, so far beyond comprehending this that he’s skipped past ‘denial’ and ‘anger’ all the way into ‘acceptance’. “Are you— Are you hitting on me?”
“for the immersion,” Benrey says stiffly.
———
Gordon throws his head back in frustration. “They’re just not— fucking— they’re not big enough! They’re short and stubby and I can’t— get them— where I want!” His wrist bends, desperately seeking something that he can’t describe. The tendons sing in pain. He hisses, then relaxes it, letting his hand fall limp.
Benrey stares down at him, mouth parted.
“This was stupid,” groans Gordon. “Now my hand’s all sticky and I don’t wanna wipe it on anything—“
“try again,” Benrey interrupts him, blunt and hoarse. “please?”
Gordon peers blearily at him from over the top of his glasses. “Huh?”
“i wanna.” That massive jaw gyres, struggling to work itself around a thought. “i could do it better. make it good.”
Heat rockets through Gordon’s belly, spiraling up his spine and leaving his hairs standing on end. His dick twitches without his conscious effort. Benrey’s eyes immediately dart to it. Emboldened, Gordon draws his fingertips around his hole, threatening to slip back in. “Yeah, bud? You sure? I don’t think you’ve ever done this before.”
“how would you know,” Benrey puffs.
“Uh, well, you’re in my fucking computer, for one thing.” He slips two fingers in with little resistance, just up to the second knuckle. For show. Nobody say he never did anything for Benrey. “But you know what? Maybe this’ll be funny.”
Benrey’s face hardens. “it’s not funny,” he says, pouting in high-definition. “i would never joke about pussy shit.”
“Point one: That is one hundred percent not true,” Gordon points out. “Point two—“ He curls them and groans, a soft noise. “I wanna hear it. Straight from the horse’s mouth.”
“what does this got to do with horses,” says Benrey, bewildered.
Gordon shifts in his seat, stretching a leg high into the air and gripping the back of his thigh to hold it firmly in place. His fingers move in a slow, back-and-forth motion, just enough that they visibly slide in and out, shiny and wet. Benrey makes a strangled noise in his throat.
“You think you could make it good for me? Tell me. Show me what I’m missin’ out on.”
Benrey’s fingers twitch around his avatar, scaled up to giant-like proportions, far too big for the task at hand but itching to put it into practice. “fuckin’,” he starts, low and rumbling and struggling to articulate himself, “stretch you open… mine’re bigger. lookie.” With his other hand, he waggles his fingers in front of Gordon.
“Well, duh,” Gordon says.
Above him, Benrey’s gaze shifts to his own hand, gears churning behind his eyes. “they’re still bigger,” he insists.
To prove his point, he snaps them - in a stomach-churning instant, Gordon’s camera snaps back to an isometric viewpoint, looking in on their dollhouse. On them. On Benrey’s Sim, pale and shirtless, beads of sweat tastefully textured on his skin, leaning over his own on the cheapest double bed Simoleons could buy. There’s a hand pressed against the mattress, and another at his waist. Pawing at him. And, unlike Gordon’s own hands, they’re proportioned well for a guy his size: closer to dinner plates than the slim, short ones he’s furiously trying to bend into the right shape in real life.
He shivers in his seat.
“Point taken,” he says. His voice cracks partway through.
As if on cue, their Sims start moving again, gracelessly sliding and snapping into a new position. Gordon’s stripped naked, letting Benrey between his legs, and one large hand buries itself in that hairy, thorny knot of polygons and glossy pink textures while the other holds him wide open. The fidelity’s good enough that Gordon can see exactly how the fingers curl: two outside, keeping them back, and two inside, making his Sim’s hips gyrate.
“lookatchu,” Benrey rumbles in his ear. “takin’ it like a champ…”
Gordon sucks in a sudden breath. He curls his own fingers in time with the animation, speeding up to match.
“bet you could take more.”
He whines and visibly clenches around his fingers. “Jesus, man!”
“yeah? yeah? c’mon,” taunts Benrey, shy of breath. “show me. put another one in.”
Gordon weakly mumbles some expletives as he leans his head into the crook of his headphones. Presses himself closer to that voice. “Who taught you how to fucking— talk like that,” he groans, pushing in a third finger.
The fans inside his tower spin faster. Louder. “fuuuck, dude,” he hears, a low, pained utterance.
“I’d let you,” Gordon says dizzily, “God, I must have lost my fucking mind, I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” his fingers make slick, filthy, squelching noises inside of himself, “let you put your hand in me—“
“i wanna,” Benrey cuts him off, too fast. Eager. “wanna fuckin’— wear you like a puppet—“
Gordon makes a sharp noise that surprises even himself. The he half-laughs, half-pleads, “Don’t say shit like that! That’s not— That’s not hot!”
“you moaned. i heard it, buddy.”
He ignores this. Benrey takes the opportunity to lean in, getting a closer view of Gordon’s webcam. And the slick folds Gordon’s spreading open for him.

TWITCH PSA: NEW INTRUSIVE FEATURE
Twitch has implemented a godawful feature called Knock that you should change the settings of immediately. You should do this as a viewer, too, not just as a streamer.
It allows anyone to call someone who is streaming, cue harassment, and it automatically turns on the caller's webcam, cue selfdoxxing.
This "feature" cannot be turned off. It has to be snoozed. Sound familiar, tumblr?
To prevent callers:
Go to Creator Dashboard Page
Go to Stream Manager Tab
Go to Collaboration Panel
Under Collaboration Settings, Open "Permissions" Dropdown
Uncheck the boxes labeled "Channels I follow", "Partners", "Affiliates". (It will still allow Favorites.)
Open "Pause collaborations on your channel" Dropdown and select "For this stream" (The other option is 1 hour). This will hide your Permissions settings, you can see them again by unpausing.
Uncheck the "Allow Favorites to knock while paused" toggle.
There is an "Add Favorites" section with link, do not add any.
Here is what it should look like when not paused (first image, click to expand) and paused (second image):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To prevent doxxing yourself by calling:
If I understand correctly, in order to turn on your camera automatically, you have to have camera permissions enabled by your browser. This is on any device, i.e. mobile or webcam. I do not use a webcam so I'm not sure what you would need to do to prevent it turning on; check your permission settings to make sure it won't automatically do so.
Go into your streaming program (eg. OBS) and set defaults to virtual camera.
Try not to accidentally click the knock button. It shows up next to the streamer's name as well as in the chat window as a popup. (screenshots below)
Look more into this yourself, again, I don't use a webcam, so I'm just relaying what I've heard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(this is screenshotted from twitch's info page on the feature, idk if the person in the example is real or not)

hi, how do you make GIFs 💀
I've made a few recently by screen recording the bit I want and imputing them into vaguely shady gif making websites, I feel like I'm gonna get a virus at some point LMAO
i use photoshop for my gifs! this is a great tutorial post for it that explains the process way better than i ever could. i use OBS for screenrecording cause im lazy nowadays, but for the best quality you'd have to download the actual VOD. i havent done any colorings or tried to up the quality during the event this weekend cause it pretty much ruins the gifs due to the webcam quality being pretty blurry, but i personally dont really think necessary most of the times anyways. but for gif making websites, if there's an option, try to change the settings into a minimum of 25 fps for a smoother gif!

Capturing the Moment: Six Free Screen Recorders That Leave No Watermark
Screen recording software is an invaluable tool for anyone who frequently presents or shares digital content, from educators and gamers to software developers and marketers. Yet, finding a tool that can capture high-quality videos without slapping a distracting watermark on the final output can be a daunting task. Let's dive into a collection of six free screen recorders, including ScreenRec and others, that promise crisp, watermark-free recordings.
1. ScreenRec
First on our list, ScreenRec sets itself apart with its simple, user-friendly interface and robust capabilities. It offers not just video, but also audio and voice recording. What truly sets ScreenRec apart, however, is its instant private sharing link feature. Once a recording is made, the software automatically generates a link for immediate sharing—a boon for speedy communication.
2. OBS Studio
Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) Studio is another free and open-source screen recording tool. Loved by gamers, OBS Studio provides high performance, real-time video/audio capturing, and mixing. Its comprehensive features allow users to switch seamlessly between unlimited scenes, collected from multiple sources, and arrange them to create a professional-grade broadcast.
3. Free Cam
Free Cam is a Windows-friendly tool well-known for its easy-to-navigate interface. It provides users with a range of capabilities, including voice-over recording, system sounds, and the option to highlight the mouse cursor for instructional content. Free Cam also comes with a built-in audio and video editor, granting users the convenience of basic editing before saving or sharing the final recording.
4. ShareX
ShareX is a robust tool offering not only screen recording but also screen capture capabilities. In addition to creating watermark-free videos, ShareX also allows users to record with a webcam or other capture devices. I feel like I want to prefix all of this with saying I have nothing against those who go by the books and sell out and forego their own identity to make streaming as a career a reality for them.
But I also want to say that I will always support those who try to make it without doing all that. Listen I get it, it's hard; and that's exactly why I respect them for it.
I've been trying to find the middle ground, people tell me just play Genshin it's popular; but are you kidding me? Do you know who I am? Do you think I'd stoop so low as to play a game that glorifies the mass murder of my people? No thanks man.
I legitimately felt emotional seeing the support I was given by the Mabinogi community because I'm actually pulling numbers on par with my peers; the very same peers who did very much decide to just sort of sell out to whatever got them the most viewers and interaction.
I'm not looking down on them, if anything I was always a little irked by it because it was a constant reminder that I should do the same.
Yet here I am actually slowly amassing a small community with higher viewer averages, more engagement on my streams; and it seems like I can actually deliver a fun experience to those who stop by.
Streaming as a full time career is something that will take a lot of work; it's going to take a fair bit of effort, I need to dedicate myself to it and it's not easy. I'm planning to sign on with a proper studio later down the line; or at least audition with a few. Even if it means having to give up some form of identity to adopt another they want me to use.
However as it currently stands I don't have a lot of options, if I'm being honest that's not why I outright seek streaming though.
Sure I'm physically disabled, sure it's difficult for me to do any form of physical labor; and yea I know I can't hold a "real job" like people would love for me to.
Truth is, I've always wanted to be some form of an entertainer; I've always wanted to help people the way entertainers helped me. When I was young I focused so heavily on being a game developer, I wanted to create a world for people to feel like they belonged. I felt that way because Mabinogi gave me that when I was an outcast in school. The older I got the more I realized that being a game dev wasn't actually a job I could just pick up and do. It was a lot more challenging than that; I worked with a few smaller indie groups and every time I got burnt.
I had my intellectual property stolen, I was basically let go when they realized they didn't want to pay me for my services since they "didn't need to" considering they held all the legal rights to my work.
I realized that streaming was something I could just sort of, do. I grabbed a webcam, a decent mic; and OBS. I just sorta started streaming whatever; tried to stick with things I actually want to show other people; tried my best to create some kind of space for a community to feel welcome in.
I see the way people feel towards streamers, and while I understand the need to keep a distance (believe me, I really do) I also want to be a big enough streamer to properly house myself, keep food on the table, support my loved ones; and also be there for an audience.
I want to be a streamer who can genuinely put my audience first when it comes to what sort of things I bring to the screen, obviously caring a lot about my own interests and such as well; but I want to be someone who can brighten peoples days you know.
When I was young I remember telling my family that my life goal wasn't so lofty as to accomplish world peace or anything like that; but that rather I wanted to try my best to make someone's day a little better every day. It didn't matter who, it didn't matter how big of a deal it was. If I could make someone's day just even a little better than it was, then I was doing something good for the world as a whole.
So yea, I guess if I'm being honest; whenever I think about what I want to do for a living, there's nothing that comes to mind; but streaming? Streaming is fun, it allows me a sort of outreach; to talk to people, to help people.
I get to be there for others, I can entertain them; help make their days a little brighter and I also get to be an entertainer. I get to put on a show, play up a silly character and have some fun with it.
I don't want to have to sell out and be someone I'm not, I don't want to have to endorse games I don't support. I want to be me; and I want to be there for my community.
This is the first time in a long time I've felt like maybe I can do that; even if being me mean I get to play the role of a silly eldritch demon here to claim dominion over the realm in the name of my great elder god lol.
