Playing around with an idea for a new OC. Well, an old OC that I never got around to putting onto paper until now.

["Of course he does, Riff somehow manages to think that we deserve everything Natborns do, if not more." Grain shakes his head, "And, thank you." He smiles at you and his grip on your hips tighten slightly, holding you much more securely.

"And I don't want either of us to be uncomfortable either," He says slowly, "So, what are you comfortable with?"]

“I have to agree with Riff on that one. You do deserve everything that everyone else does and much more.” I emphasize my thoughts with another gentle squeeze of his shoulders. “You deserve to be happy and to be treated like people, not tools or like you don’t matter because you do matter.” I say like it’s the most obvious, natural thing in the world. “And nothing is going to change my mind about that.” I shake my head stubbornly.

“I’m comfortable with all the simple things as we’re getting to know each other better. I’m fine with things up to cuddling and making out towards the beginning, but anything more than that is a discussion for another time, further into a relationship.” I explain my thoughts on the matter. “But I’m also open to letting affection progress naturally and I’m not afraid to say no or let you know if I’m uncomfortable with something that’s happening.” I smile. “Thank you for asking, I don’t think I’ve ever actually been asked about it before. Most men aren’t considerate enough to ask before actually trying anything.” I shrug like it’s no big deal. “And some pretend to not understand what the word no means.” I snort and roll my eyes.

Grain smiles at you, "Agree to disagree then. It'll take time for me to agree with that idea." His smile widens, "and, if I ever do or say something that makes you uncomfortable, just let me know and I'll stop. And if I ever ignore your right to consent, or not consent, to something just tell Riff and he'll murder me on the spot, so it won't be a problem ever again." He jokes with a tilt of his head.

I came up with Floyd's (other) ex band mates and then I went a little insane about them. . . Anyway they're all alternative trolls who adopted him into their group. They play nu metal at underground gigs but mostly they just go to raves and get stoned out of their gourds.

ALRIIIIGHT let's get into the design of this bad boy

the idea was ... basically just a bit of techwear, modern street style, all that-- i was sort of winging it haha. i wanted a very loose and free style with the cargo pants, belts, and unzipped jacket, while the hood was added for dramatic effect when i started the lineart~

i felt like experimenting with his hair so once again i slicked back the right-hand side of his part, i would have given him his pre-overblot hair (for more variety w/ the long hair) but to be honest i kind of like the short hair with this look~ it kind of screams kpop idol but whatever HAHAHAHAHA

fishnet under clothing was an absolute must, and i went a little more on the ""bad boy"" look by giving him the chain and cuff earring on one side... plus the dramatic eyeliner/eyeshadow... yeah. RIP yuhua's lip gloss we will always miss you

also shoutout to V for volunteering vizzie for the duo magic-- i love me a good RIOFY friendship

(as for headcanons on how yuhua would act during this whole event, um-- he'll behave i promise 🥰🥰 he'll try not to let his inferiority complex get the best of him I MEAN WHAT WHO SAID THAAAT)

i can't think of anything else that i thought about particularly hard during the process, so uhm-- thank you for reading this far and no promises on when i'll get the groovified version out if ever LMAO

So. After much thought, I've finally found Riff's themes song.

how did floyd meet his ex band mates?? what did he think of them?

It was actually completely on accident. Les was getting firewood for their campfire when he heard a barely audible distressed sound nearby and found Floyd wrapped up in a spider's cocoon. Poor guy was fighting for his last breath when Les rescued him.

Les invited him back to the camp to check over his injuries, which then became a meal and overnight stay (they live in a bug RV), and then a longer stay to mend, and then Floyd was invited to join their band and just stayed for good (mostly because Les was worried what could happen to the kid if he was left alone again (Floyd was pretty malnourished when they found him, after about a year since he left the troll tree, and pretty touch starved too.))

As for what Floyd thought. It was pitch dark in the woods when Les pulled him out of that cocoon so he couldn't get a good look at the guy. The only thing he could tell was that he was insanely huge. But he thought that he must have been just a really big rock troll in a fluffy sweater. When they finally got to the fire he had quite a shock. He was disturbed and intimidated by everyone for sure, since in this AU he'd only met rock trolls so far and hadn't even heard of other types. Add the fact that he had been sure he was going to die not long ago, I'm positive he was in shock for most of that night.

floyd is like a wet shivering kitten left out in the rain, who wouldn't want to take him in??
