a fleeting and terrified promotion of my silly oc writing dump of a blog @wolfmoonblues if y’all enjoy my menagerie of characters (though it’s mostly beauwolf) and/or completely ignorant bastardization of catholocism (for fictional and expressive purposes) and/or what i write for uquizzes. it’s not got a lot rn but I’m getting more into writing so it might go somewhere!! who knows

Hey there, I absolutely adore your art!! Would it be okay if I used day 82 as my Discord pfp?? Totally chill if not, it just brings immense joy and if you'd be okay with people using it I'd be over the moon!! (Hehe werewolf joke)
Thanks so much!!
Tysm! And typically I’d be totally okay with it, but day 82 is actually an OC!! So I’d rather not, but I genuinely appreciate you asking and checking! Most of the werewolves are random but every now and then I’ll draw an OC (the one from day 82 and in my header is Beauwolf, the big blue one you’ll see every now and then is Lupa, and then Jaíme was for day 47). But the other werewolf art you’re welcome to use.

So how did you get into monsters? It's a really cool personal "brand;" are you a big halloween fan? Are there any horror films/other horror media that influence your OCs and what you like to play around with?
I got into monsters bc of my love for werewolves, but also after an AU that my friend and I made where we asked ourselves what kind of monsters the people in my friend group would be. The nocturnal city characters were inspired by that idea of a friend group of five, and the personalities of the mains were loosely inspired by our friends as well. Lupa was originally just a werewolf!Vic but she’s come a long way since then and is entirely her own character now!
I am absolutely a big halloween fan :) october is my favorite month. I’m not too great at dressing up every year but I love the tradition, the horror movies and decor, the candy, and the seasons of autumn.
Some of the biggest influence for the monster OCs comes from scooby doo tbh! Other than that, definitely the universal monster movies (like the ones from the 30’s-50’s) and general monster mythos. All Saints Street is a similar vibe to it but I’ve had the idea since before it aired! My other werewolf work (Beauwolf) is more closely inspired by medieval monster stories and fables, and the genre of paranormal romance, but not one book in particular. I really like monsters a lot and so I like piecing together a bunch of different cool theories and shaping them into my own lore and aesthetic. My favorite horror movies and books don’t actually have much to do with the stuff I make! Other than some good creature features like The Fly, American Werewolf in London, etc.

hi!! i know this isn't your art blog, but i was curious about your werewolf ocs 😄 mind telling me about them? anything at all! love me some werewolves 😊🫶🏼
hi yeah!!
i have a couple werewolf ocs!! the ones i draw most are Lupa and Beauwolf. they're both catholic and tormented in their own ways (even though i wasn't raised catholic, which is v funny to me). if you wanna analyze it, lupa was born out of my coming out experience and beauwolf is just my ocd incarnate. i love them both and it kind of helps me understand myself
some fun misc facts abt both:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
lupa is paraguayan/dominican. she's got blue hair bc she was born on a blue moon. her relationship to her parents is kinda fucked. she cries at every romance movie she watches and smokes too much for her own good (wolfsbane cigarettes, actually) and was a really messed up kid in high school. she stays partially shifted in her werewolf form as a Statement, and she didn't learn how to shift on command until high school, but she is an incredibly powerful and disciplined werewolf. she actually really enjoys lycanthropy, even if her relationship to it isn't always healthy at the beginning. she's a genius at math and really handy around the house and with cars bc her dad wanted a son but had to settle for her instead. and she's like the beating heart of the main five of the monsters. she means a lot to me
Tumblr media Tumblr media
beauwolf is a knight in medieval england for "the wulven order", which is a bunch of werewolves who work for the king. she enlisted after her sister was burned at the stake. she was in love with a nun for a little bit. she lives and breathes devotion to country and god and it all kind of kills her eventually. she's got a drinking problem, and a "women problem" (gay rights babey <3), and a hard time talking to anybody. she's a smaller werewolf than lupa, and more janky/human-looking too. she's got a bunch of scars on her body from where she burns herself with silver to stay purified/"hold back the beast" (her relationship to her monsterhood and sin is pretty. bad. she hates that she's a werewolf). she was bitten; Lupa was born a werewolf. so she has a lot less control over her shifting and personhood while she's a monster. the were-hangovers are a bitch for her more than Lupa. Lupa sleeps the whole day before to prepare and kinda knows how to mediate it.
there's a little bit of writing for both of them here!!

11, 19, 22 for any character u choose
i could v easily respond to these with the Nocturnal City monsters too but i'm gonna do Beauwolf and Crescent instead bc i contain multitudes achsully
11. what do they have in common with you? how are they different? would you get along with them?
Beauwolf and I are share a responsibility/guilt complex, religious trauma/indoctrination (though I dealt with mine differently lol), Lust for Women (and the reluctance of accepting it). and a similar relationship to gender.
Crescent was an acutely teenaged expression of anger and bemoaned misunderstanding, and we both have a smug case of main character syndrome. The way she thinks, though much more impulsive and emotionally-driven, is rationalized exactly the way i would think (because--and I can't stress this enough--she was an OC I made when I was 13). The funniest thing about her story upon rereading it was how often she was hungry lmfao
19. are they quick to anger? what sets them off?
Beauwolf doesn't know how to express anger, it's an emotion that kind of silks between her fingers. Her devotion to a cause and her discipline are such mental blocks to anything that isn't "get from point A to point B", that externally, at least, she's extremely monotone and mellow (though not humorless). I think it's very hard to crack that armor--not because she's so levelheaded, or anything, but because she's actually hopeless. A doomed-from-the-start martyr. She has no passion for herself, and so she feels no need to defend her right to exist, and hence she is mystifyingly angerless. Does that make sense?
Crescent, on the other hand, is angry nearly 90% of the time. That was always how she was written, and always her main motivator. She is a gladiator in hell clawing her way out no matter the cost. This is because, unlike Beauwolf, she believes in her inherent importance. She knows she deserves better, and is enraged by the luck she's been dealt. Everything she does is somewhat backed by this kind of spiteful grudge. She's very quick to anger, and abrasive, though she's not always stupid about it, and it makes her fascinating to follow because most of her destiny is paved by the direct consequences to her actions.
22. do they sleep well at night?
Neither of them do lol. Beauwolf has nightmares; Crescent is always in survival mode, so she's a bit of an insomniac.

1, 3, 8 for the OC ask!
are they associated with a certain color? what color do they wear the most?
i think i answered this for all the monsters previously so i'll answer for beauwolf! her colors are black and silver :)
3. weapon of choice? any particular reason they chose their weapon?
also answered for the monsters already sooo i will say that beauwolf uses a longsword! i haven't worked out some of the details yet tho. i want to design a cool hilt for it
8. do they have a nickname? who gave it to them? if it's not derived from their real name, what's the story behind it?
oh yes actually i'll answer this one for Lupa! her full first name is Guadalupe. her mom called her Lupe and Lobita growing up but she changed it to Lupa in middle school out of personal preference, combining the two nicknames into something that was hers (plus in school her teachers would struggle with her full name, so it was just. easier). her dad always calls her by her full first name or "hija" and a couple other not as nice ones

Hey star can you pitch me some werewolf names you like, if you have any and would like to share!! Or really any names you just happen to like 👉👈
sure! for reference, my OC's name is pretty standard for a werewolf name i think lol. It's Lupa (full name Guadalupe); sounds like "lupine", and her full name would usually shortened to Lupe bc hispanic people love their 4-letter nicknames lol. So: Lupa! I would suggest looking into your character's heritage and personality for a well-fitting name, but if you just want some darts in the dark:
Moon-related names: Crescent, Wa(y)ne, Luna, Selena, Skylar, even Crater lol. I like Medianoche a lot, it means "midnight" in Spanish.
You can also go with something related to wolf-ness, wilderness, or strength. See: Beau (Beauwolf), Fenris, Pac, Luperca, Brutus, Hunter, Lichen, Forest, King, Silver, Mercury, Spike or Bane. "Fang" is basic but honestly to me never a let-down.
Some out-there names for shits and giggles: Rolf (sounds like a dog's bark), Mozart (bc Wolfgang), and I think it would be hilarious to name a werewolf Alfred shortened to "Alf" for Alpha aldjskhgfkhd
