Meet 🧙‍♂️Cornelian and 🦉Artemis... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🧙‍♂️ I always think of Cornelian as a combination of Gandalf and Disney’s Merlin from “The Sword in the Stone”. The only difference is that Cornelian is very pedantic — kind of like Saruman in the LOTR movies. He would never be caught with dirt under his fingernails. His history is complicated and his origin very dark indeed. I don’t think I will write that book, because I hate writing tragedies. Cornelian is erudite and has a voice of a thespian. Quote: “Failure is naught but Success waiting to happen.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🦉 Artemis is the child of Goddess Athena’s little owl, Sophie. Sophie is Thought, Artemis is Afterthought or Second Thought. He is named after his godmother, Goddess Artemis. As yet, I have not discovered what happened, but Artemis did something that infuriated the gods. As punishment he was indentured to Cornelian (no one consulted Cornelian, of course). Artemis is tiny, immortal, opinionated, and addicted to tea. A very spontaneous old sketch with two of my adorable children, Littleowl and Salamander

Even though I mostly look into their friendship, Sal and Owl do have a romance planned in the future! I'd love to explore them growing closer as friends first and then watch as their relationship blossom into something bigger - with all the hardships and hurt-comfort on the way. I may change some of the timeline points in the future, but it's safe to say that SalxOwl is canon and it is a slowburn. It just makes more sense for them - especially considering all the stuff Salamander goes through in "The Scavengers", plus Owl being very sheltered and naive at first. Plus I love this type of stories and "friends to lovers" in general) They are my comfort ship, so sometimes I draw them just for fun

A little portrait of Sal for last year's Pride Month and a page from my (dropped) comic redraw project I did in 2022-2023 (this version was finished mid-2023)

I really want to make comics, but put too much pressure on myself and too scared to actually draw them... This experience didn't help, as I redid this page 3,5 times (started reformating it into a far less crowded version, but desided that finishing what I already have is more important) and spent more than half a year on the whole thing. This wasn't very fun, and both of the finished pages far from perfect.

I'm trying to look on the bright side - I DID learn a lot by making it, and I have a whole comic page with my characters interacting, like, c'mon, how cool is that?? I'm making progress in changing my thinking patterns when it comes to creative work, but sometimes I'm just too tired. Fighting with my perfectionism and anxiety need to constantly overthink stuff every day isn't always a winning battle. And I feel like I'm losing it (and some other battles as well) right now.

And that's okay, as frustrating it may be >:/ Bad mental health days/weeks/months aren't here forever. We are still valuable and deserving of love people even when we're struggling and not giving to the world everything we have.

Saying it loud and clear not only to myself but to anyone who needs to hear it - stuff really does get better. We'll get there. Even if it doesn't feel like it at the moment

My old animations - the better one with Salamander (July 2023) and the one with Littleowl is my first try in animation! (April 2023) Plus the cover for my first PMV (yeah I was debating what to call it at the moment). I'm a bit embarrassed about this extremely random project, but I put so much passion in it…

Almost forgot to post about Littleowl's family :0 Talonfang and Truthseer were wery... "helicoptery" in their parenting in the first years of Owl's life (especially Truthseer), but they working on it. (also they kinda had a reason to be that cautious...) Owl loves her parents very much and still has a strong relationship with them, and I think they got used to their daughter being very independent away from them. I love them all so much :") Now a bit of lore: after escaping from the Nightwing island, Truthseer with Talonfang weren’t too keen on following their tribe’s tradions and therefore gave their daughter a name, atypical for nightwings - Littleowl. Well, this is version of her name, adapted to English, in my first language she’s called Splyushka (Сплюшка) – Russian name for scops owl – which can be considered a pun) Splyushka is a type of small owl that gets its name from the "splyuuu" sounds it makes, but this word also can be read as “something that helps to fall asleep” or even “someone sleepy” – which refers to the fact that Owl loves to sleep and looks incredibly cute while doing so UwU

In the current timeline, Littleowl lives in a house at the outskirts of Possibility (she lived in town for a while, but eventually decided to move to more quiet location), and her parents settled in the Rainwing forest, having received permission to live closer to the rainwings, and not in the settlement of the nightwings.

Rose-colored glasses (1/4)

(Oh this one is very old, from 2022, but this is a great introduction to some of my main characters, so here we go) This is one out of four (last one's unfinished) drawings I did for a theme challenge. I wrote this tiny story back in 2023 and looking at it now... Well, I think my english has improved a bit 😅 Anyway, meet Littleowl, or Owl for short! She's an adult now, but she sure does has some stuff to remember from childhood

Lovers Truthseer and Talonfang didn't want to raise dragonets in starvation on the NightWing island, so one day they disappeared. After some time, a couple of never seen in this parts nightwings settled in the caves not far from the Possibility, in which a dragonet hatched - she was called Littleowl. Owl spent her entire childhood in caves in the middle of a forest, immersed in stories from scrolls and doing various arts, and it seemed that nothing could destroy her ideal picture of the world. Well, at least that's what her parents told about it, because they never agreed to take long walks outside the cozy little cave. Littleowl was a very obedient dragonet, and even her curiosity couldn’t make her break the strict rules of her parents, but with age she began to pay attention to inconsistencies in her mom and dad’s stories. Why she can play outside only at night and only under their supervision? Why do they move from time to time to another cave? Why did her mother returned one day with burns on her wings? In her early years, she, not knowing another life, wasn’t seeing anything strange in this, but the dragonets from her scrolls took walks mostly during the day, played with other peers and, if you think about it, lived in a completely different way. Owl noticed how her parents got nervous when she started asking questions about the outside world, and this only fueled her suspicions. At the age of 4, her father returned home with traces of frostbreath on his shoulders, and Owl's patience was overwhelmed - she was finally able to drive her parents into a corner and find out the truth about the world, the war and the nightwings.

Another one of my OCs, Afalina (another name for bottlenose dolphins in my first language) and her aunt Pearl. Sadly, both are minor characters and they don't get a lot of attention from me, but Afa has a little story of her own (and I love her ^^)
