Reference to this post. Francis finds a relic out at sea, a magic said that brings what you want most back to you and of course has to study it. He tosses it back in the ocean because it didn't do anything. Thing is, it did but not to him. 😬

I don't plan to use this for anything other than some fun merman art, though it is ironic. I have always written Eb is terrified of open water and said it was because trauma from school bullies nearly drowning him when they threw him in. Perhaps it's because he has a family curse that if anyone in his bloodline returned to the sea they would become a monster(for whatever some ancestor did). Thing is, it's was a long forgotten story and people in his family just have an instinctive urge to avoid the ocean and they don't know why. So Francis being out at sea fucking with something he shouldn't gave that curse a jumpstart and Eb wakes up half a fish because of it. What he narrowly escapes through the Thames with his life and is in hot persuit for Francis knowing he's the cause of this.

Good job Francis. Now you have to fish that relic back up and unfuck this before Eb is hunted down as a prize to boot because a real mermaid would make whoever captured one both famous and extremely wealthy.

Lucky for Eb he's a lion fish but other than Francis and Stede no one really knows fish enough to tell what's venemous or not. He just looks like an exotic creature that would be extremely valuable.

(Ed would know as well, but he distinguishes safe or not as good fish, bad fish. XD)

Thought it was time to introduce you all to what communities are! They are you safe zones (for the most part) and can be a base of your operations if you would like one. Once again, these are completely optional and you're more than welcome to make your own settlements (ooo they might not be recognised by the big five ooo tension).

Katja teaser pics will drop tomorrow and there will be nothing on the 24th as its my birthday! Also, I apologise if everything seems disjointed. Walking the dog!!! A commission for @pixelgoat of their OC Raster, she is very good with the yo-yo🪀

Raster was Pixel's newest character, my first exploration sketch of her was based of a piece with a viewed-from-above perspective, pixel was happy with it but I still wasn't confident on my take yet

they were nice enough to make a standard 3/4 sketch of her for me to work from, plus, some more notes about her and her design

for the piece, pixel suggested raster doing some yo-yo trick(s), the only one I know by name is "walk the dog" and thats sounded good for them

you may notice the pics here are inverted from how it is on the final, that's because I mistakenly had Raster using her right hand, when she is left-handed, I flipped the image, adjusted some off-looking areas and moved to color

originally I was gonna have some 90s arcade floor-looking simbols for the bg, but being reminded of her interests, I thought of doing a beach area, then thought of adding the blue to make the yo-yo trick look cooler

how any of yall mfs draw cookie run characters in a bitmap/raster program. this shit is infinitely harder than it was in a vector program. firealpaca is splendid but it was not made for drawing cookie run characters

that being said, i am trying my damnedest to whip up sum cookie run ocs for the first time in 76 eons. first up will be croquette cookie! i wanted to make some cookie run ocs based on basque foods since i have a handful of basque heritage, and a croquette was one of the simplest ones i could think of so thats where im starting.

ill try and whip up a post for the cookie run characters music tastes according to some guy series later today

22. clinic/Your oc Phoenix

Tunk-tunk. Tunk-tunk. Tunk-tunk.

Phoenix's boot heels bounce off the bar across the bottom of her chair, legs swinging in a nervous rhythm.

"Phee!" the doctor says before she even has the door open all the way. The robot shrugs the shoulder of her coat back on, glancing at the screen in her hand. "I have to say, it's unusual seeing you here without an injury. But I'm glad for it! That is not an invitation for you to get injured again."

"Is he okay?" she blows past the comments, brown eyes brimming with worry. The doctor nods, eyes winking off as they close.

"Quentin's just fine. He overworked himself and got overheated. With a little rest, he'll be good to go. You can both leave the clinic once he gets to the waiting room." She turns to leave, before pausing, glancing through the door. "You're a good friend, Phee. Good job on taking him here."

Phoenix beams back at the doctor, and the door shuts, leaving her in the waiting room with the soft whir of the air conditioning. Her boot rhythm starts back up, until it's broken by the door creaking open and Quentin sulking out. His hands are jammed in his jacket pockets, the shoulders of it swallowing him up in a shroud.

"Quen!" she lights up, launching out of her seat, and he braces for a hug. Instead, he gets a boot to the shin.

"OW!" he glares down at her, a mess of red hair with arms akimbo. "Phoenix! What the h-- what?"

"You're being dumb!" she protests. "You don't ever take breaks. For anything. What if they caught you when you were down? What if they caught us when we came in here!"

"I didn't even want to come," he mutters, trying to move around her and out the door. She falls in step behind him, practically skipping to keep up with his stride. His fins flatten tight against his head, pulling against the fabric of his beanie.

"That's dumb too. You have to take care of yourself."

"What do you know? You're like, eight."

"I'm eleven."

"Same thing."

"I'm going to kick you again." Her tongue sticks out the side of her mouth, but he catches her under the arms and scoops her off the ground before she can get a swing in.

"Buzz off, okay?" He struggles against her as she flails and wiggles. "You and Raster are making this whole thing really complicated for me."

"For you!" she cries, incensed, flailing ramping up. Quentin holds her at arms length, before giving in and dropping her.

"Yes! For me! That should not be hard to understand."

She hits the ground with a thump, and her glare returns, peering up at him through a mess of curly bangs. He stares back.

He sighs.

"C'mon. Let's get back."
