highly self indulgent sketches, lol. i was thinking about what would happen if sibyl & bea had to switch spouses for a day, because king logan & magnus hammersmith have some similarities. i think bea & logan would vibe and sibyl would be grateful that magnus didn’t have a kingdom to command when he was losing his shit.

i’ve got more on her BG in this post, but i’ll give some more cool facts here!

sibyl loves studying the keepers--they’re of a lot of interest to her, especially where she is aware that the house of blossoms is built in one of their ruins.

she’s adept at art, music, dancing, and a lot of other entertainment arts

she and garrett have some ridiculous number of kids, i can’t even remember what it was. but they both love them all! 

i like to think that her dad finds and connects with her in post-game events; unlike in fable, her dad is not a dick & actually loves her a lot, even if he meets her very belatedly. his name/title is lord vivian moors, and he is unmarried, and considered a very sought-after bachelor. sibyl probably tries to pair him off, honestly.

her alias as a blossom is “poppy”

she runs a little library out of her room, and she and the other girls like to do reading circles. when she later leaves the house of blossoms, she stays in touch with her friends & keeps her book club going where she can!

sibyl nylund / 24 / blossom 

my oldest thief oc! sibyl has about a million aus, and most often i ship her with logan from fable, but she actually was originally made to kiss garrett! in thief, she’s a bookish blossom who’s sort of been xiao xiao’s responsibility for many years. 

her mother was also a blossom, and her father a wealthy nobleman who she’s never met. when her mother died when she was a girl, xiao xiao took her under her wing, raising her to be well-read, intelligent, and relatively money-savvy--though she by no means is a model mother figure. sibyl later became a blossom.

unbeknownst to anyone, including sibyl herself, the latent primal energy within the place steeped into her--that, paired with her father’s connection to the primal (as a descendant of a long line of Keepers) has given her powers that are peculiar to say the least. even more that garrett, she is attuned to it. she can transform into a cool lookin lurker type thing, but only under like...extreme duress.

also, she exhibits signs of waardenburg syndrome! she has slightly wider-set eyes, vitiligo, and bright blue eyes, but it’s not very extreme. she doesn’t have any hearing loss. 

tierney “black arrow” harlan / 17 / thief & apprentice

a beloved but kind of forgotten OC, black arrow is the only and illegitimate child of the thief-taker general. they are mute, bitter, and a frighteningly good thief for their age. after suffering under their father’s abuses for years, they ran away and took up residence in one of the many tiny apartments around the city, and taking up thieving in order to survive. they soon discovered that it was really fun for them--a way to spit in the thief-taker general’s face while also collecting cool stuff.

they are at first a rival to garrett, often taking jobs from him and stealing things before he can get to them. they really kind of piss him off, but when he figures out exactly what’s going on, he sort of takes them under his wing. he’s not exactly a father figure, but pretty close. while garrett lets them do their own thing for the most part, he does check up on them to make sure they’re doing alright. 

ionnes grimes / 20s / guard, later captain

i don’t really remember much about this guy, other than the fact that he was at some point supposed to be with garrett i think, in the even he wasn’t with sibyl? i gotta revamp him honestly, but he’s like one of the very few guards in the city who isn’t corrupt or awful. mostly he’s just there because he needs to feed his younger siblings. he later takes the thief-taker general’s place as captain/commander of the guard, and is WAY less of a piece of shit about it. 

vivian moors / 40s / nobleman

i literally just came up with him, because i revamped sibyl’s backstory, oops. (oh no he’s hot!!) he is sibyl’s dad! from a long line of keepers, though that part of their history has been kind of hidden from younger generations, such as himself. he manages the family business, which is in various forms of trade. he lives up in auldale, and has remained unmarried since the death of his beloved, sibyl’s mother. he is a relatively reserved man, and tends to hold people at an arm’s length, though he isn’t necessarily like, a dick or anything. he was away at the time of sibyl’s birth, as well as the time of sabine’s death, and isn’t aware of sibyl’s existence. it was only through the grapevine that he was able to even find out his lover had passed. 

if he met sibyl he’d probably cry a WHOLE lot. and also give her the world.

also god. sibyl would be so happy if the hero of brightwall re-opened the brightwall academy, bc she loves books and learning SO MUCH. she wants to see everyone have a chance to get an education or learn as much as they’d like!! 

if she were to assist the hero of brightwall in any way, i’m thinking it’d be pretty behind the scenes stuff? i can imagine she’d be pretty busy teaching the kiddos how to control their powers & doing her own things. also, kinda wary about deposing her husband. he may have really fucking lost it but she still loves him a lot :(

what is sibyl's relationship with reaver like? does it affect reaver's influence over logan?

short answer: not great

sibyl didn’t really even meet her father until she was about 7-8; her mother was a working class woman and had a very short relationship with reaver. she was a really good mom, though! she raised sibyl as best she could while working a lot, and gave her as good an education as she could afford. unfortunately, she passed away when sibyl was 7, and as a result, sibyl was sent to the bowerstone orphanage. while she was there, she started manifesting her hero abilities--playing with various different types of magic to amuse her friends, which kind of caught the eye of the caretakers. when sibyl was 8, and had been in the orphanage for nearly a year, reaver showed up one day out of the blue and took her in. he was never much of a dad to her-- honestly mostly a patron more than anything, and i think part of it stems from him feeling awkward about the whole situation/around children in general. but having a hero daughter definitely looked Good, especially when he was taking care of her. 

sibyl was given the best education, clothing, and accommodations that his money could buy. a lot of it went into the books that sibyl was constantly reading, with her insatiable pursuit of knowledge. she was sort of “introduced” to the court only a few weeks after reaver took her in, and she met logan for the first time not long after that. (and god, i’m crying over them being betrothed pretty early on because royals are Weird like that, and little logan is always very sweet to her because 1) he was a sweet kid 2) “we’re going to get married when we’re grown up so we’ve got to be nice to each other!”)

as sibyl got older and more worldly, i think she’d start to see that some of what her dad does is really kinda fucked up (esp his policies towards his workers, around the fable 3 era), and their relationship would get colder than it already was. by the time she’s an adult, it’s tenuous at best and she tries her best to see as little of him as possible. as a result, it doesn’t really make his already pretty strong influence over logan any stronger--just any events where they’re all in the same room a lot more awkward. i’m not sure about reaver’s feelings on the subject, but i have to imagine it kinda sucks to have your daughter hate you 😐

I wanna hear about Sibyl!

ahhh anon you’re too sweet!! sibyl is basically like…one of the oldest actually good ocs that i have that i still talk about all the time? she’s 4 this year, actually, and is probably my favorite one i’ve ever made! originally she was just a thief oc, but over the years, she’s become canon-compliant with a lot of different universes (mostly through extensive RP, lol), and is set to be the main character of this book i’ve been meaning to write for like a million years

annywayss, it’s kind of difficult to getting to explaining to her, since her story varies slightly from au to au??  i guess the consistencies are her FC/appearance and personality! she’s very sweet and understanding, but definitely has a lot of drive/determination and a strong moral compass. she doesn’t take crap. think like….very neutral good. her FC is gugu mbatha-raw, she has vitiligo, blue eyes, is chubby and only about 5 feet tall! (read: the cutest ever) she really likes books and reading, is generally the ultimate Mom Friend. also Really Into Tired Older Men which is why my fav ship is her & king logan, the two of them are so good together. they have so much in common even if they come from sort of opposite ends of things, him being a king and her being a commoner. but they both love books and both lost their mums when they were kids, both generally stressed by whats expected of them. fuCK, and in most non-modern AUs, she has a mysterious power of some sort or another. in fable, i’m thinking she’s a Hero or something? i should really know at this point, she’s 4 this year lmao

my oc sibyl is one of my older ones but i still love her SO very much. originally she started off as a thief 4 oc, and was one of the blossoms in the house of blossoms, but at one point my s/o and i (who is has been my main rp partner for like 6+ years now) were like “what if she and king logan interacted” (because that was jack’s main muse in like 2014-2015). and then oops skip forward to 5 years later, it’s my main ship with her and she’s gotten many, many iterations over the years! 

in her fable verse, he father is reaver and she’s a hero of will! she grew up alongside logan as a favorite playmate and friend, and when they got older they were betrothed. they were married about 6-7 years prior to the start of fable 3, and have 3 young children (triplets! olivia “ollie”, robin, and chester). she moves out with the kids when he starts to lose it big time, and even considers divorce– but after the events of the game (assuming logan is spared) they reconcile and get back together. things are a lot happier, after that. i haven’t yet decided whether or not sibyl uses her hero powers to assist the hero of brightwall or not, but considering she’s got 3 little rambunctious hero children to take care of, probably not. she’s busy training the little heroes!
