Ella leaned over as much as she was able to with Griffith half sitting on her dark red skirts, her fingers scrambling for purchase until she could grip the little toy knight he had thrown so that she could set it back up with his others. He was currently in the middle of smacking the foot soldiers around with one of the slightly larger cavalrymen. As soon as the knight was back in a row with the others, he picked it up, examining the painted knight in his rose-adorned tabard with unblinking intensity before throwing it as hard as he could. Griffith laughed and clapped as it sailed past where it had landed before, thudding just beyond the confines of the black and bronze rug where he sat with his mother.

“Oh, it’s like that, is it?” Ella knew he didn’t quite understand questions like that, but he understood her exaggerated, playful offense. Griffith smiled wider now, his cool, gray eyes lighting up as he hunkered down into his spot.

“The dragon is awake!” She scooped her little boy into her arms, and he giggled the whole time as he wiggled in her hold. He yelled something that was probably some sort of attempt at “dragon,” and his efforts were rewarded with Ella kissing his pudgy little cheek so hard that it smooshed his face.

Details for my ASOIAF RP search

Hello everyone! I'm 20+, live in Europe, and am looking for a 1x1 RP set in Westeros/Essos. I have read and loved all the books and I watched the show up until season 4. I have many plot ideas, some detailed and others vague, and have been interested in playing this for a long time. The play need not to be ship-centered, but I find that it always helps to develop a gripping plot.

I play lit only.

The length is flexible depending on the scene. I usually write 200-400 words in a normal post.

I like some communication about the plot, but also the freedom to do what we want to.

I like and offer semi-regular posting. I don’t need and cannot deliver daily posts.

Now onto some of my ships and concurrent ideas! Characters with a * are characters I'd like to play.

In general, I like prequel stories. I can set a story in basically any era in Westeros. I’m also very interested in Essosi-based stories. Some times I would especially like to play in: Robert’s Rebellion, the Doom of Valyria, the Dance of the Dragons. I also like AU settings of the current time, e.g. “what if Robert’s Rebellion had failed” or “what if Rhaegar had married Cersei” or something like that. I’m curious what other ideas you might have!

I’m generally open to any ship you suggest to me, even crack ships. There are some ships I’m not interested in playing, however. Not because I don’t like them, or because I think they’re uninteresting - I’m just not interested in playing them specifically. For some of these, I even hope they’ll be endgame, but I still don’t wanna play them. With OC/OC ships, I usually only play f/f or m/m unless you blow me away with your idea, haha.

Generally, I'm very interested in playing m/m in one of the men-only communities: Night's Watch, Kingsguard, a sellsword company, even the Citadel. I can play at any point in time. I'm also interested in two lords or something similar, of course.

I have 6 male OCs I'm interested in playing, the first 3 are lowborn, the latter 3 are highborn: Morgan, a peasant orphan from Dorne who grew up to become a skilled archer and warrior; Ser Gwayne Waters, bastard son of Lord Celtigar, an honorable and idealistic knight; Ser Symon of the Sea, son of a thrall and professional liar; Valerion Targaryen, a prince and dragon rider; Tymor Lannister, heir to Casterly Rock, proud and able; Ossyfer Tully, Lord of Riverrun; Vorian Royce, who prays to the Old Gods.

Regarding f/f, I’m interested in a play set in Dorne or at the royal court, between a ruling lady and one married to someone, or her handmaiden, or something like that. I’m also very interested in a play with a Targaryen princess. Generally, I’m very open here.

I have 4 female OCs I’m interested in playing: A female Targaryen princess, dragon rider; Lady Aliandra Dalt, ruling lady of Lemonwood, a Dornish beauty; Hazel, a spearwife and warg of the Free Folk;  Cerelle Serret, to be married to Lord Lannister.

Stannis + Helaena - getting to know you

After months I finally got something! I hope it's good, lol

Stannis had never been quite so aware of his hands and arms before. Everything he could do with them felt so conspicuous, and all he wanted was to appear as casual and confident as his lord father or Uncle Robert. No, not Uncle Robert, that was asking too much. He finally settled on clasping his hands behind his back, which was inconspicuous and chivalrous enough, and glanced at Helaena from the corner of his eye as she walked next to him.

Her hair practically blended in with the cream of her loose fitting dress, curls falling over her shoulder to meld with her skin and the draping cotton. She was much more focused on the dirt she was scraping from underneath her nails than him, and truthfully Stannis was grateful for it. She would not notice how awkward he was this way.

“Are you going to say anything?”

He startled when she finally spoke, nearly tripping over his own feet. He heard Helaena snicker from just behind him, and his cheeks heated so much he could not stand to look back at her and show the fullness of his flushing. Some of it was probably visible though, and it made Stannis curse the decision to wear his hair shorter.

“I, um, I am sorry, Helaena. I am more anxious than I thought I would be.”

“Going for a walk was your idea.”

“I know.”

Silence followed, and he reluctantly turned around. Helaena’s expression was expectant, and her purple eyes, much lighter than his, seemed to bore into the very core of his being. Stannis flexed his hands, keeping his arms at his sides this time as he tried to gather his thoughts. It was hard to be articulate when he had not prepared for it.

“We have always been friends, you know, after we met because of Uncle Aemon’s tourney, but things are different now.”

“Why is anything different?”

“We’re betrothed now!”

“So?”

“So…so…so it just is different! You are a woman grown and I am almost a man. I thought we should get reacquainted, but actually being alone made me nervous.” Stannis’s voice grew softer and softer as he spoke, turning to a full mumble as he looked down at his feet. It mattered now that he had started noticing how pretty Helaena was, that it heated his cheeks each time he thought about how nice she was or about the sound of her laugh, that her hair smelled nicer than most anything else and he wanted to bury his face in it to be overwhelmed by her. He toed at the ground, digging an unimpressive rut into the grass until his cousin’s skirts swished into view. Her closeness loomed over him, no matter how much taller than her he was, and it forced him to look up at her again.

“Do you still like history and knights and stories?” Helaena's tone was matter-of-fact, her words half real question and half point she was trying to make that at the moment eluded him. Stannis blinked back his confusion, silent as she, once again, looked at him expectantly. 

“Obviously I do. I mean, knights are maybe slightly less exciting than when I was younger since my own knighthood will be happening in less than two years, but it is still one of the only things I have ever truly wanted…” his rambling trailed off as a satisfied smile subtly pulled up the corners of his cousin’s mouth, the meaning behind her question finally hitting him now that he'd begun dumping information onto her; just like they'd both always done since long before either of them had started to grow up. Stannis cleared his throat, and pivoted away from his prattling about knighthood before it could turn into a full speech, even if she probably would have happily listened to it.

“Do you still like bugs and embroidery and all the stories I would tell you?”

“Obviously, because we are not so changed that we have become different people. Nothing has to be terribly different than it was before we were betrothed.”

“I suppose not…and-and we've time to figure out what will be different.”

“At least two years.”

“Right,” there was no need to get impatient or overly concerned with it right now, “um, Helaena, do you-do you still want to go for a walk?”

“We are already out here, we might as well make use of Lady Shireen’s gardens.”

With an only slightly unsure smile, Stannis held out his arm, eyes gently questioning as he watched her. Helaena looked at his arm for a moment, quietly contemplating before hooking her hand in the crook of his elbow. Her fingers idly rubbed against the golden yellow velvet of his sleeve, she'd always liked velvet. Stannis’s grin widened; it was true that he noticed how pretty Helaena was now, but everything was still comfortable and familiar and he could try to not be impatient about the exciting, terrifying unknown of change.

“Will you tell me about Ser Serwyn of the Mirror Shield again? I always liked that one.”

“Of course,” there was a light, undercurrent of laughter under Stannis’s words, “and after you can tell me about the white mantis your grandsire had pinned for you.”

"I am sorry about Baldric. I hit him for you."

"Aegon calls me weird all the time," he called her worse, on occasion, "and you do not need to hit anyone for me. I can do it myself if I want to."

"It was still mean, and-and, I am to be a knight one day! Knights protect women and the innocent, it is part of the vow!" Their was passion in her cousin's dark purple eyes in spite of his pouting, and it brought a tight-lipped grin to Helaena's face as she tried to hold back a snicker. She failed, however, and it came out as a wavering snort her mother would have called "unbecoming."

"See if I ever protect you again." Stannis clenched his hands into fists and went to turn around, but Helaena grabbed the hem of his doublet before he could fully spin away from her.

"What?"

"Do you agree with him that I'm weird?"

"No...maybe? I like it though, you're interesting."

Helaena worked her jaw, lavender eyes wide as she looked up at him from where she crouched by a bed of flowers, studying him. He stood completely still as he looked down at her; like a mantis, except he would not eat her.

Finally, she released Stannis. "I will tell you when I need protecting, then you can do it."

A bright smile spread across Stannis's face, a smaller, more subdued mirror of the expression pulling up the corners of Helaena's own mouth.

"Can I sit with you?" He asked. She nodded in response, company was nice sometimes.

Does Stannis ever get annoyed about the girls taking over the solar they’re meant to share. Does this involve frustrated and serious talks with dad?

Lmao, he absolutely does because his stuff is in there too & Rhea & Abby are making it impossible to read his knight stories or carefully sort his Ye Olde Action Figures by type before he reenacts some grand battle with Bladric & Griffith! Catch 8-year-old Stannis marching down the hall to Yorick’s apartments so he can air his grievances in the most serious-little-boy manner while on the verge of frustrated years because they didn't make room for his epic recreation of The Battle of Bronzegate even after he said he was telling.

In the future of your fanfic, will daemon be redeemed? ( Please no, I like it when he is a chaotic evil 🙈 ). Oh and by the way can you describe how Ella's and Yorick's children would look like. ( I know that you answered that question but you put a face to the character, can you described more in depth? - like the color of their eyes - would it be purple or other color .... - of course only if you have time ).

Daemon is very much the antagonist of Sins Of The Father (although I view him as more "chaotic neutral, I do whatever in the hell I want"). There was, probably, a path to redemption for him way earlier in the fic, but we've sailed right past it at this point & there's no going back for him. It's all very sad & fucky & complicated, but this is ultimately a revenge story for his 3 oldest kids. Ella, Yorick, & Aemon all get their closure in different ways, but at it's conception this was always an "avenge Rhea Royce" story.

And yeah, I can drop some more descriptors for the Robella & Yoreen kids, I don't mind! A good chunk of them have some fairly detailed notes in that regard, & a few of them are still up-in-the-air, but if I have full details know that's their final descriptions.

Rhea Royce

She has black, wavy hair

Her right eye is so dark blue that it is nearly black & her left eye is a pale, blue-toned purple (she's a little spooky looking, but she's pookie so it's fine)

She's 5'10" & has a fairly solid & athletic build, similar to Ella but less Thique Queen & more "I can & will knock you over"

Stannis Royce

His hair is black & curly

His eyes are dark purple

He's 5'11" & has that classic "broad shouldered, thin but not tapered, obviously athletic" knightly physique. That boy sure does swing a sword

Baldric Royce

He has curly black hair

His eyes are lavender

He has dimples like his mommy

He's a 6 foot tall twink, like his father before him (except Yorick is about an inch taller than him)

Myranda Royce

Just pretend Georgie Henley is blonde, because Myranda has that Valyrian platinum hair going on

She has Shireen's bright blue eyes

She's a very round, chubby child & she only sort of grows out of this

She's not particularly tall, tbh, & probably isn't going to wind up getting much taller than 5'4" or 5'5"

Yorbert Royce

Details start getting vague here, but I know Yorbert has platinum/silver hair like Myranda

He's only...I wanna say 11 when The Dance starts (I'd have to check my timeline, but I stretch some things out, I know that much), but he's probably tall for his age

I haven't decided what color eyes he's gonna have

Argella & Laenor Royce

I've got the least amount of info on them, but I'm thinking of giving them dark brown hair (like the streak of dark brown in Yorick's hair)

Griffith Tyrell

He has dark brown, curly hair

His eyes are gray

He's tall like Ella, but I'm not sure how tall. He's got that Targ in him, & he's towering over all the men at Thorn Hall like a delicate featured tree

He is, however, built like Robert. Boy's got that upsidedown dorito Chris Evans type body

Aerea & Adrienne Tyrell

Aerea has dark brown hair, Adrienne's is platinum/silver (so, y'know, use your imagination there since Olivia Hussey's got really dark hair)

I haven't decided what eye color they have, but it's probably the same

I also haven't figured out how tall they are, but they're only 14 when The Dance starts, so they potentially have a couple more years to keep growing.

Aemon is such a cutie. Him being scared of Daemon is neat but also really sad he deserves so much better than that lizard rat man. I could kinda see him ending up with Helaena in the far future if Alicent has her canon children in this one. Just placing my bets.

Aemon is so good. I hadn't been incredibly sure where his toddler personality was gonna go, just that it needed to make sense with my notes for him as he gets older. He definitely deserves better than the dad he is, unfortunately, saddled with. That man does nothing good for that poor, sweet baby.

Ngl, I hadn't put boocoos thought into how he relates to Alicent’s future kids, probably because he winds up being the most disconnected from that side of the family. I can totally see him having a cute friendship with Helaena though (they don't meet till he's 16/she's 11 or 12), which is honestly really nice given the handful of events I have planned for that far into the fic. My notes are so nebulous once we start getting to the events of the last couple episodes. Do not ask about further than that, it's so vague. Lmao I keep saying redoing the logistics of the Dance is a problem for Future Misa

This fic started with a question: Why did Rhaegar specifically chose a Stark daughter? Why not any other First Men house(Blackwood/Royce/Umber) or Wildling for that matter? Warging is not limited to Starks after all. And it snowballed from there.
