Why doesn't Ais like seafood?
It's not that Ais particularly hates seafood. It's just that Ocudeus gets upset when he indulges in anything aquatic… Who knew a █̶̳̻̬̹͉̄̃̒̏̆͆█̷̢̛͓͇̯͋͒̂͝█̷̧̙̥̥͉̈́̅͘͜█̶̧̣͚̦́̍͂̏̒̔͠█̸̧̣̺͇͔̜̙͇̈́̐͒̌̅█̵͍̓ could have its feelings hurt? 🐙

LITERALLY WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT AIS' FATAL FLAW???
Tumblr media
@killersweetie @fizzydreamz
Tumblr media
"Lets his emotions rule him, with destructive consequences"
Do you not understand how BIG this is???
He would fall in love so hastily and let himself open up to you, desperate to feel some form of security. Like he's grounded and not floating amongst an endless sea of minds lost in his own.
But oh, when Ocudeus steps in and hurts you using Ais' body, he regrets it all. He hates that he allowed you so close and he would chase you away to protect you from the being in his head that wouldn't hesitate to hurt you again.
While he feels his control slipping, he isolates himself and again, he is left with the voices and screams in his head that are constant. The only thing that would drown them out is the overwhelming voice of Ocudeus that whispers in his ears to lose himself.
And he would endure without you there to remind him of who he is. Everything would jumble up and become a million blurred lines. He will break without you, and when you think he's finally let you back in, he'll be shattered.
He won't be the Ais you knew.

Do you ever think that Ocudeus gets annoying and Ais, after a brief moment of silent pondering, goes "You know what, I think I'm in the mood for some squid cooked in their own ink", or is that too casual

Imagine a bad ending where MC becomes Ocudeus’ pet. It would go something like this:
(SFW, Ocudeus being a bastard, reader is angry. The line about humanity being a disease is inspired by the Matrix)
—————
“What a pretty little thing you are, sparrow.” Ais, no, Ocudeus, pulled you into it’s lap by the leash connected to your neck.
“My little pet,” Ocudeus said, their hands grasping at the back of your head, forcing you to face them. You hated this. Fuck. You searched their red eyes but you knew Ais wasn’t staring back at you, it was something else. You felt his breath on your neck, his touch on your skin, but it wasn’t Ais. They took in your scent, a pleased hum resounding from the monster before you.
“How long I’ve dreamt to have you fully for myself,” Ocudeus whispered in your ear, “How wonderful you are. So beautiful. Ais would’ve never been able to appreciate you as I.” Their hands grazed your cursed arms and you flinched, trying to pull away. They grabbed it anyway.
“What an imbecile.”
They pulled you closer by the wrist, their face to your neck and your bodies pressed together. You tried to resist but it was no use. The monster was stronger. Ocudeus chuckled mockingly and its voice vibrated your core. They tutted their tongue as if scolding you, continuing, “Watching you through his eyes, having to battle with the idiot to feel you, to claim you. Oh, pet, don’t look so angry at me, it was better this way. You just haven’t realized it yet. Ruling the human realm was the best course of action. Humans are such vile creatures. A disease to this planet. They multiply in number, then spread to another location when they’ve completely depleted and destroyed the last one. Eridia’s fate was always going to be destruction, so it is of no matter, really, if I destroy it now.
I despise humanity, but you are my only exception. At least one thing Ais was good for was that he made me realize there are some humans I don’t want to consume through the spring. It’s more enjoyable picking you apart and watch you crumble between my fingers. Till your soul, mind, and body is completely mine. Doesn’t that sound wonderful, love?”

Everyday I think about how Ocudeus is trying so hard to take over Ais' life to the point that Ais' character lore and stat sheet are now dedicated to Ocudeus. I just know Ais somewhere mad as hell. Can't have shit in his own body.

Ais
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
@killersweetie
Ocudeus taking possession of Ais and doing unfathomable things to you.
Though you know it isn't Ais, when he's finally himself again, you can't help but flinch in uncertainty at his touch until you finally get a glimpse of the eyes you know to be his.
Ais, seeing how badly you've been damaged, be it mentally or physically, can't help but tremble at the sight. He'd react as if he were the one to have done it and he'd be desperate for you to forgive him.
You're the only one who's ever truly gotten this close. Please don't run from him. He needs you in his life and he's so very sorry to have let Ocudeus hurt you like this.
All of that is what he would say if he didn't feel he shouldn't have allowed you so close in first place...
Being a man who let his emotions rule him, he should have known this would happen. He shouldn't have given you a chance to fall for him!
But now here you are.
You'll try to soothe him, seeing how he shakes. You'll reach out to him and the only thing he'll be able to do when he feels your bandaged hands against his cheek is beg you to forgive him for losing control.
He'd tell you he'll do better and that it'll never happen again and that he'll work harder to protect you from Ocudeus.
All you can do as he rambles and hugs you close is rub his back and tell him that it's alright and that you aren't upset with him. That you know he would never hurt you like that.
But you know Ocudeus will be back when you're least prepared for him...

Ocudeus x gn!reader
So I went ahead and wrote my own little ocudeus one-shot... It's not much but it's honest work. here you get to be weirded out by the cryptic affection of an eldritch horror.
Ocudeus loves you, but not as a human would.

The Seaspring has been especially uncomfortable lately.
You even hesitated to pass by today, but Ais has been acting so strange you couldn’t help checking in on him. These days he seems distant—the comfortable silence the two of you once shared in the temple now feels awkward, almost painfully so.
Did you upset him? Surely, he’d tell you if that was the case, he’s never been afraid to call you out. Something must be troubling him, maybe one of his brawls went south or Princess hasn’t been eating or one of his teacups broke…
Trying to guess what’s going on in Ais’ head is bound to lead nowhere; if you want to help him is best to ask upfront. Even if he might avoid the question, you won’t be able to say you didn’t try.
And so, you timidly enter the Seaspring.
The motion of the rippling, red water catches your eye, it seems… Lively? As lively as a stagnant lake can look, anyways.
You quickly scan the wooden floors which turn out to be desolate, then shift to the rafters—there he is, staring. Once your eyes find his, a smirk stretches across his face. He might feel down, but nothing gives him greater joy than watching you stumble after him it seems.
You gather your courage, “Ais! I need to ask you something.”
“What’s new,” you roll your eyes at him. Shortly, he drops from the rafters and regards you with a bored expression; he probably thinks you’ll ask about the Seaspring as you’ve done many times already.
“Uh, well…” now that you’re face-to-face the words barely reach you, but you manage to choke out the question, “…Are you good?” his eyebrows raise lightly and you look away, “I mean, it’s just… I’ve noticed you’ve been a little out of it lately, is everything fine?”
When you look back up at him, his brows are furrowed in confusion. Did you guess wrong...?
Suddenly his expression smooths into a grin, “Just a bit tired. No need to worry, sparrow,” he reaches to ruffle your hair, “How nice of you to check in after causing so much trouble.”
Usually, you’d knock his hand away or bite back at the sarcastic comment, but something tells you he’s not being genuine. Thinking about what to say, you let his warm hand tangle in your hair until he retracts it.
“…Are you sure?”
“That you cause trouble? Yeah.”
“Not that, you idiot.”
His smirk falls completely, the unamused look returning to his face, “If it bothers you so much, you could just leave and let me sleep” his disinterest is clear once he starts looking around for something else to do.
Of course, this wasn’t the first time Ais told you to leave, your first encounter aside, he’d joke about it often, however this didn’t seem like one of those times.
You stand there, upset with his lack of cooperation—honestly what were you expecting from Ais? For him to be vulnerable just because you asked? Even when you tackle the issue upfront, it’s bound to go nowhere.
Frustrated, you turn to leave, but as you begin walking a hand grasps your shoulder tightly.
“Didn’t you want me to—!?”
As you turn, your anger stops short.
Clearly, this isn’t Ais.
It’s the same face, but his eyes, his expression—
Are so unfamiliar.
It steps closer, eyes stabbing into your own. It’s so close you can feel the coldness of its body.
It mutters something in a language you can’t understand—guttural and rough. Then it grabs the top of your head; you shut your eyes, expecting the worst—
…Until it starts rubbing your head? It pulls your hair as its hand stiffly moves, nothing like the soft ruffling Ais was doing earlier. You open one eye—it’s staring eerily.
The stranger startles you, shoving its face into yours. Then it drags the hand on your shoulder to grip the side of your head instead, you feel the same awkward motion from its other hand.
…What is it doing? What does it even want?
As its grip loosens, you finally feel the urge to fight, to run, to get away from this thing.
You push it away with little resistance and turn on your heel straight to the Seaspring’s entrance—
You enter the wasteland, accompanied by the sound of your own feet splashing against the bog and the puddles.
There’s no way you can fight that thing, not if it’s Ais. Your best bet is to get back to the city and… Hide? Well, what else will you do if Ais pops up in the Wick again!?
Shortly, you hear someone—something else running after you.
It’s not Ais, whatever’s following you has at least four feet, like a dog—could it be—
You hit the ground, hard.
When you look over your shoulder, you see a somewhat familiar Soulless—a crown of tendrils at its head, you can make out a few eyes at its sides. It looks at you blankly, no recognition in its eyes.
“Prin…”
A pair of footsteps slowly approach. You turn your eyes to the source of the sound, dragging your gaze from the spiked boots, to the disheveled haori, then those piercing, painfully alien eyes. They look straight at your own, through them.
It reaches you, kneels, and keeps on staring—scrutinizing you, admiring you. It whispers something else in that thick language; you don’t know whether to feel glad or annoyed you can’t understand it.
Confused, angry, and scared, you finally mutter something, “What… Are you doing…?” the stranger tilts its head—it’d almost be cute if it was Ais. With the same dull expression, it reaches again for the top of your sweaty, muddied head, and rubs it.
It’s infuriating how gently it pets you this time, you almost feel compelled to close your eyes in hopes to escape that agonizing gaze.
It’s hand slowly disentangles from your hair and snakes to your neck, then your shoulder, and stops… At your bandaged arm.
Panicked, you turn to it—its eyes are boring into your hands rather than your face.
“Don’t!”
Yet it doesn’t move. You look back at your arm, and just as the stranger begins scratching at your bandages…
“Didn’t run fast enough.” a familiar voice. You feel the weight lift off you, whining; Princess tries to lick your face before Ais lifts you up. He seems a lot less merry than his pet—his expression grim, his gaze lost somewhere over your shoulder, “You should leave.”
He doesn’t have to tell you twice; you nod briefly and pass him.
From a short distance you hear him, “Stay, girl.” and a little whine afterwards. You peek behind your shoulder.
He pets Princess adoringly.

*if MC was taken by the Senobium and Main Five decided to actually work together to break them out*
Leander: If rummaging through my old folks’ archives has given me any useful information, there exists a master key to the Senobium that deactivates their magical security measures. Kuras: Indeed. Long ago, to keep it safe, the Senobium had entrusted their key to me. Ais: So where is it now? Kuras: In the bowels of the Wastes. Leander: The Wastes? While you were trying to keep it safe? Why would you take it out there? Kuras: It is the last place anyone who values their life would go. Mhin: *sigh* Sounds lovely. Kuras: Quite the opposite. Mhin: I know, I was being ironic. Kuras: I find irony is a blade that cuts they who wield it most especially. Vere: Yeah? iS tHaT whAt yOu fiNd? DoCToR? Leander: Ooookay, can we all put aside trying to kill each other until after I save MC? Ocudeus: *to Ais* Yeah...the Sparrow’s doomed.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that I’m going to LOVE Ocudeus in Ais route. If you guys haven’t see the recent post for Ais, there is a new Ais’ line, “Obedience suits you, sparrow.” Someone else on here said that it’s Ocodeus speaking, not Ais, and I can’t agree more.
This line goes completely against Ais’ character. In the Demo, Ais tells MC that he likes their “shitty attitude” and when they disobey him (i.e, biting him, swearing at him, putting him in his place). Ais loves it when MC is rebellious, while Ocudeus doesn’t.
But you know what Ais and Ocudeus relationship gives off?? VENOM. It’s giving Venom. And I love Venom. A sentient living inside a host, giving them supernatural powers, and enabling them to do terrible things. I’m going to theorize that Ocudeus is power hungry, greedy, and what Ais has to fight off throughout the story. Ais is hanging on to the bit of humanity that he has left, and the bad ending is if Ocudeus consumes Ais’ soul and fully takes over.
But if Ocudeus has a soul, does that mean that they are susceptible to gaining feelings for MC- as Ais gains feelings for MC, will Ocudeus start to love us as well? Or will Ocudeus only see us as a tool for power? Will he fake his affection to get us under their thumb? I can imagine it: taking over Ais body, MC confused, him approaching you in a voice you’ve never heard before, and trying to seduce you so you’d obey him (I know I’m going to be puddy if he actually does this in the game). Of course, this is all acting so he can use your powers for his own gains.
GAHHHH so many possibilities! So excited to find out what this character is all about.
