Always Learning.
Some post-Glitchtrap death angst with the Glitchtrap follower duo<3
No Text version and some rambles under the cut
Tumblr media
While Vanny, the reluctant follower and least favorite, is surprisingly happy about the defeat and learning what freedom is for the first time- GGY, the favorite child, feels like he failed Glitchtrap for being so weak that his host could break free and kill him, while GGY was completely unaware and unable to do anything about it.
This isn't villain or redemption GGY/Vanny, they could both go either way from here, it's just how I think their first reactions to the wizard dying would go<3
Also the tree on GGYs side is supposed to be the baobab tree from TFTPP, and Vanny's side is based on the PQ/Burntrap/Brazil endings<3

So I've been thinking, I think the most widely accepted theory about the security breach ruin trailer is that it's not Gregory speaking but honestly I think for it not to be him would be incredibly impractical.
Starting from the start of the trailer we hit it off with a frightened Gregory directly asking Cassie for help. Had this been vanny, glitchtrap/burntrap, or really just anyone else, I'm personally instantly questioning why they'd want her, then how do they know Gregory knows her. As far as vanny knows Gregory's and orphan with absolutely no records, and while you could argue the events of ggy mean glitchtrap definitely does, it really doesn't because as Scott's said time and time again, the books are a *parallel* to the in game universe meaning it's way less likely for the entire events of that story to be canonical to the games.
While yes something may be true to the games, a large majority of it all is without a doubt staying remotely in the book canon and away from the games.
Moving on to Cassie, during the entirety of the trailer she says one line and said line is; "GREGORY, RUN!", Which to me implies she has caught sight of something fatal go after Gregory, and while you may argue she might've heard something approach Gregory over her walkie talkie, if it was loud enough for her to hear it, Gregory himself would've without a doubt heard it too. This is why I personally believe Cassie had to have seen whatever it was that Gregory had to run away from.
On top of that, Gregory and Cassie have walkies together and I think Gregory must've had to pair his with hers meaning even if it had been brief at some point they had to meet. I think the only hole in this specific part of the theory is how Gregory would've reached out to Cassie in the first place, and I honestly just don't know, and I'm hoping that's something the games or whatever can clear up.
And lastly, Gregorys voiceline at the very very very end. "Don't give up on me yet". And yeah, this is obviously directed at the fandom, but it also implies that this is the same Gregory from SB, while yeah vanny could easily fit this too given that she was an absolute flop in security breach, why not just have her say that herself? I think it would be absolutely pointless to have Gregory say that just for it to turn out to be vanny in the DLC, but ofc, that's just my opinion.
And that's about it, course this, again, is just my opinion on that theory and the holes I think it has, but I'm completely up to other ideas and stuff if you happen to actually read this whole :DDD

FNAF Fic WIPs
GGY: SB - Truth
This has been on my mind since the release of GGY, but I was thinking of writing a one-shot about what happened between GGY and Security Breach; I've been wondering what caused GGY to die, if Gregory had truly broken free of GGY (by accident or on his own), or if GGY released Gregory to be free from the control of Glitchtrap, or the Mimic. Which would explain why Vanny was ordered to bring the boy to Burntrap instead of outwrite killing him for his betrayal.
I think GGY saw both Vanessa and his own host as the greatest of fools, thus being the greatest of puppets for Vanny and their abusive master to exploit. GGY would eventually grow tired of the constant orders to find children for remnant when GGY has pulled criminals into his lair instead, with the exception of Tony's death at Glitchtrap's hands.
Vanny: SB - Revelations
A different plot idea I've been bouncing around my head is what would happen if a massive blackout occurred in Security Breach as Gregory (Post-GGY) is being chased by Vannessa through the Plex. It always piqued my interest what drove GGY's fall and Gregory, so Gregory confronting the demon of his past while Vanessa is overwhelmed by Vanny's open confessions to what had befallen Luis when he came close to freeing Vanessa, and the truth behind Foxy's and Bonnie's deaths.
Biggest reveal in both stories is the images of a Paulbear with broken casings and a heavily bandaged Prince appearing behind Gregory and Vanessa.

My stupid thoughts on Help Wanted 2 (obvious spoilers below lmao)
ffffFFFFINEEE I like the game, and I don't mind GGY being POSSIBLY canon now. I love the fact that my boy GLITCHTRAP IS BACK!! (Still uncertain if he is Mimic, speaking of which...)
I still REALLY HATE THAT BITCHASS STUPID ASS ROBOT, but...I've reluctantly accepted as canon as well. I don't like it, I think it's still lame as an antagonistic force, and I'd much prefer it'd stay as Burntrap ONLY. If it ends up actually being Glitchtrap GODDD 💔💔 the AUs I'd have to rewrite...my personal canon ruined...Anyways, let's talk about GGY!
Uh! I guess I'm not disappointed! I have the many wonderful fnaf artists I follow (YALL KNOW WHO YOU ARE 🔥🔥) to thank for my newfound like in GGY (the concept, and surprisingly the story/other characters! I know I usually shit talk the books, but Tony and Ellis are super cool characters from what I know, maybe this'll mean I'll actually read the book eventually...maybe...👀) I'm still kind of sad that it is probably canon, now it gives people an excuse to hate on my boy more, which will totally suck (and I still think it makes him overly, well, overpowered. But hey what can I do huh??) (And I'm a little annoyed that he might canonical be patient 46) (or 47 I'm forgetting fnaf canon what is wrong w me)
ALSO VANESSA AND VANNY !! okay. I'm happy they're being used in something at least! Let's hope they appear more in stuff soon)
And also, Cassie's new model! Uh, it's nice. I think it just kind of resembles a generic 3d animated character from some b-side studio tryna knock off Disney and be used as a babysitting film. (Specific I know) and it kind of matches Gregory's a little bit more now (BUT I'M HOPING THEY CHANGE THE OTHER HUMAN MODELS, not by a lot but enough to not look uncanny like their usual designs do)
Anyways gameplay wise, frightening (as is per usual from the fnaf vr games 😭😭) love helpy's and roxy's level. And also El Chip's, the Papa Louie energy of it definitely brings me back to my undying rage against my least favorite customers...fuck you X Twins (speaking of Flipline IM GONNA SEE IF I CAN GET PAPA'S PALETERIA I HAVE TO GET IT TO SUPPORT MY QUEEN LIEZEL and Zak too ofc)
Did we play as Mapbot?? Is this a thing now??? What???? (Time to watch the billions upon billions of theory videos that explain that it's actually some obscure loser from the books) (or Cassie's dad, speaking of which I'M ALMOST DONE WITH THE FNAF 2 KCI KIDS including Charlie, which will then leave the male fnaf characters, the afton kids, and other miscellaneous characters/ocs which includes my design of her dad)
Anyways, that's it for now, I'll add more in the reblogs around the new few days if I remember lol)

RUIN Theory! - Escape Plans
Spoilers for all of the RUIN dlc. Buckle up, I’m about to make a controversial theory that no one here will be happy about. …yay. You might’ve heard someone else mention the idea, but I am ready to try and sell it to you.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Ok, I want you to hear me out. What if Security Breach never happened? The idea was first planted into my head by Matpat during on of the GTLive play throughs of RUIN, and since then, a few connections have been made. I just want to share what I think could make this theory make sense.
So first, I decided to look at the Glamrock’s shattered and ruined designs to compare, and I noticed a few little details. One is that Freddy still has the present. Now this could be because he’s the prototype, but I’m not going to immediately write it off because of that. Another thing that everyone noticed is Roxy’s face—it’s completely different, and it has those ports which I assumed are how the eyes attach (but even then, how would they rotate properly? It doesn’t really make sense). Thirdly, Monty didn’t have a sternum piece before RUIN. In Security Breach, there’s just a hole there. And, his tail wires are longer in RUIN, not to mention the fact that they’re bound with cable ties. Given how he acts, I don’t think he would have the insight to install one himself. He also wouldn’t be able to reach back there to tie all of those messy wires up, especially not with how good it looks. So unless someone came down there to fix some of them, I can’t see how they would end up like that. Chica doesn’t seem to have any discrepancies though—there’s nothing that was lost that she now has from what I can see. (Side note: I noticed Monty has a gold tooth, which reminded me of Foxy, specifically the Golden AR plush whose description was “I guess he replaced more than his teeth.” It just struck me as odd.)
Then I looked at and thought about the comic pages. They’re all in fairly random places, but the page with the Burntrap ending is down in one of the rooms with the burners. That’s odd, right? How would Gregory have gotten down there to drop it off? How would he have known about both Burntrap and the Blob? And why is that ending not shown as comic pages in Security Breach? (Who collected those pages and put them together?)
Then I had an idea. People pretty much agree that Vanessa is Vanny, and the theory that Gregory is GGY, or Dr. Rabbit, is out there even if we don’t have too much information to back it. This would mean both are under Glitchtrap’s control, or are at least on his side. What if Gregory (or the Crying Child, if you’ll accept that theory) drew those while being stuck in the Pizzaplex? Like the kind parts of him broke through, whether that be because of a spirit or not, and he sort of fantasized. I know it sounds like a stretch, but hold on. Kids fantasize, especially kids that are being abused. They make up scenarios where they do things that they aren’t able to do, and sometimes the ideas are put onto paper. I mean Gregory has got to have seen all the animatronics while he’s there, and he’s probably got the processing power to figure out how the animatronics would break when faced with certain factors, even if he wasn’t completely right or knowing of how they all looked underneath their suit. He’d also probably be pretty angry at the whole place, except maybe that one character that he really liked for whatever reason—Freddy. He would even know about the animatronic in the basement, which explains why he said that it was trapped down there for a long time and why he knew about the MXES security program. He could’ve even been partially behind it. He’s also probably seen the Blob and Burntrap during his time there, and I’d imagine he hates Burntrap more than most. He knows what he’s done, who he was made by, and/or what he was made for. He’d probably have some beef, so it would make sense why that ending would look better than the others. It’s the one he wants to happen the most. All the animatronics are shattered, the building collapses, and Burntrap dies.
I can hear the questions—but what about the bad endings? Why would Gregory fantasize about those? You have to remember, he’s not stupid (and is he’s a robot, he would be more logical anyways). He would know that Vanny would be sent to find him if he just ran, maybe it even happened once or twice already, and he would know the map of the building, so he’d know the best door to leave from. The Burntrap ending is the only one where we don’t see them actually leave, so they might’ve not even made it in that scenario. It is only that—a scenario. A stupid idea, but it could happen. And even if that isn’t the case, our minds go down bad paths all the time, even if we don’t want them to.
Maybe one of those comics was a plan to try and escape, but something else ultimately ended up happening. Vanessa is with him in the cutout/Brazil ending, so they could’ve escaped together. Maybe with the help of Helpy. It would probably be the most similar to the Princess Quest ending then, with Gregory helping Vanessa snap out of it. This theory would even make sense for why he dropped the elevator (you know, if he was the one who dropped it). “We can’t risk being followed,” he says. That could be talking about him, Vanessa, and/or Charlie/Elizabeth if they’re in the same body, and I understand why he would do anything—even sacrifice a friend—to not go back. To not be found again. The missing posters could’ve been put up by the one controlling (or trying to control) them, which would force them to stay in hiding, leaving Cassie wondering where he went. I’m not sure how they became friends in the first place, but my best guess is that Cassie visited the Plex often, Roxy says that he came for her birthday twice, and they met at some point.
For the Glamrock Freddy backpack near the MXES machine, I believe it’s Gregory’s. He might’ve dropped it on his haste to get out of there, or couldn’t come back to get it when the plan was in motion. And something I did find odd during the normal ending is that the speaker seems to cut out. It has a ringing sound to cut in, and that same noise occurs before Gregory says “it’s not your fault,” and drops the elevator. A popular theory is that it was that animatronic in the basement the whole time, which although I’m not completely with, I feel like it could have some plausibility.
EDIT: there’s “He was our superstar” in yellow graffiti in the beginning, which I feel could either be referencing Gregory, Glamrock Freddy, or even Glamrock Bonnie.
EDIT II: when you’re in the daycare attendant’s room in AR, you can see Roxy, Chica, and Monty in a playhouse, with Roxy being front and center. Sun and Moon sit on a table on opposite sides, kind of overlooking the scene. Moon looks a bit ostracized though, and Freddy is absent from what I’ve seen. The glitch Eclipse/Sun is on the ceiling. Could this be a notion to Freddy being not very liked by the other animatronics, or him not being under the glitch’s hold? It might explain why the prototype doesn’t even show up in AR mode.
EDIT III: I forgot to even mention Gregory’s attitude in the games. He HATES the animatronics, and I feel there’s less fear than there should be. He’s definitely scared for his life, but that isn’t really shown in his actions. He shatters all three without remorse, only caring about Freddy. Meanwhile, Cassie is nice and sympathetic towards them.
EDIT IV: I just realized that the backpack is next to a hole in the wall that Gregory could’ve definitely fit in.
EDIT V: Monty’s endo coloring. In the shattered design, his endo is all this dark grey color, but in the RUIN design, parts of it—namely his jaw and chest—are tan colored. It isn’t the right color for rust, and there aren’t any parts that color in the other animatronics. (You can see the jaw hinge in shattered Monty. It’s definitely that grey, not bronze.)

My opinion on Mimic and its implementation in lore
The Mimic is no longer a mystery to anyone so I'm just going to talk about who he is because everyone must know who he is (even more so when in a few months the anniversary of the boom that hit his revelation in Tales from the Pizzaplex with the story that bears the same name, The Mimic). Rather, I am going to focus on telling my personal experience with his introduction to the fandom and how he went from being a character I hated to being one of my favorite characters.
First I have to say that I was quite surprised by this plot twist because I did not follow Tales from the Pizzaplex and I had no idea what the stories were in them (this made me venture much later than this plot twist to read the history of GGY and knowing why they said that Gregory was Patient 46, but that is another story. The fact is that it was one day when I was even calmer that I came across a video that states that neither Glitchtrap nor Burntrap are William and explains his true identity and what the history of this new character is. I was very stunned because I could not believe that William was not one of these 2 characters when they had been apparently saying yes for years and I became discouraged and quite upset with this horrible retcon (or at least at the time I thought it was)
I went weeks without barely touching anything from Fnaf until the Ruin trailer premiered. I loved this trailer either for the entire horror setting it presented or for the Vanny Mask that brought us a great concept such as the VANNI network that I adore to this day. So what did I do? Well, I gave it a chance and I started to get interested in reading the Tales from the Pizzaplex stories or at least the two related to Mimic (The Storyteller and The Mimic)
I adored every bit of these stories and my hatred for Mimic, which had been very strong at the beginning, diminished considerably when I saw the potential he had as a villain and understood that it had not been a retcon. I understood that Scott had had this Help Wanted character in mind and the creation of Glitchtrap because the tears and drool he had proved it, in addition to his imitation of Tape Girl when we first entered the game, greeting us with that distorted voice. And of course because the scene of the tombs on the death screen finally made sense to me because William was dead, but his tomb represented in the center with that texture indicated to us that Mimic was imitating him and that he had him in the center like a king (This interpretation is not mine because several channels talk about it on YouTube but this scene finally made sense to me)
Another thing that changed my mind about Mimic when reading his story is realizing that he wasn't just a poor imitation of William for no reason other than killing people by imitating him. But Mimic for me is not only that and what seemed to be an empty character for me became a being who has an internal struggle due to the duality that exists in him where he wants to make friends but at the same time destroys and ends everything. the one he crosses paths with. In addition, it came "to life" so to speak since in the room of papers and drawings in the Pizzaplex we can find messages like "I can feel it." Although there was also the sadistic part like Glitchtrap and the part that hates being bothered as it is in the message "This is my home, leave"
All this made my affection for him notable but it wasn't until Ruin where I loved him even more (although poor Cassie didn't deserve it for everything she went through). I honestly loved that he appeared imitating Gregory's voice lines from Security breach like "The stupid door is not open." That seemed very macabre to me because it meant that Mimic spent the entire game watching what Gregory was doing, but at the same time I loved it.
The only thing that left me with a bittersweet taste was its introduction to the lore because they could have done better by giving more clues that we were indeed facing a new villain and it was not William Afton returning from the dead again. But for everything else Mimic is amazing and I really love its concept.
I sincerely hope that in future Steel Wool games they bring him back because I think he is a great villain and a great concept that gives a fresh air to the franchise.
Finally, I would like to point out that you should always give things a chance, even if you are not very excited about them because you may find things in them that you will end up loving. And above all, it is true that having Fnaf books is very expensive and not everyone can afford it, but you can read the stories or at least summaries, but above all the stories that you will not regret.
And this has been my personal opinion of the character of The Mimic. I have to clarify that this is my personal opinion and that if you don't have the same opinion as me, that's okay too since we each have our own opinions, all of which are equally valid.

So if William is MXES, does that mean Vanessa and Gregory made some kind of deal with Cassidy to transfer his torture from "play this sensory-overload inducing video game forever" to "be our security system"
yapped a lot so im putting it under the cut. tl;dr i like this idea, but i believe hes been freed from it earlier in the timeline, but im not against this, gonna think about it
i cant give a proper answer here as i dont have enough info from the lore to be content with it BUT i still see MXES as the system somewhat separate from the entity (the rabbit). the entity is inside of the system, but since we only hear the mimic say its something unwanted within the system, its unclear if its actually the system itself or just trapped within, (here its also hard to tell whats the mimic saying and whats helpi's words, as iirc helpi also mentions the entity as something unusual. though you could argue its unknown to the vanni network, because its a new part of the security system) though if the entity was somehow William then i would see more options, first repurposing some "code" from glitchtrap after getting rid of him, if glitchtrap was (or at least partially was) William; or from burntrap, if hes even canon, or something else - but that would be too convoluted) and using him within the system and pretty much trapping him there.
everything is still pretty unclear, i like your take anon, but in my mind he has been freed from the torture before HW, maybe similarly to frights (though the man in the room story is goofy as hell, i like the afternath. canonicity of the books aside, im not even saying the frights are canon, but perhaps can count as a parallel. and although its unused, i really like the beta entity design as a form of William and its a nice connection to the frights story, but sadly scrapped)
well. im not really a theorist, i just think of what sounds most fun to me. if cassidy is involved, guessing that would be connected through princess quest 🤔 could be! *shrugs* i will think about that. i do think Vanessa and Ggy worked with the system, hard to tell if they created it as from HW2 we can see its been in use before Ruin so they would either create it shortly after SB or it was already existing.. then they could use it to trap the last remains of glitchtrap. (or the security system is originally within the preexisting vanni system, and the mxes one is created by them, addinf the nodes?)
it all ties to the glitchmic debate which im TIRED of but i think theres something more going on and we can see a lot from color coding so... glitch is green, then magenta, the mxes system is magenta. mimic is orange. the entity is blue, white, but in the trailer they had the green and magenta glitching... so i still have some questions unanswered. but the entity being William makes me happy so i will think that still :] how he became that is still a mystery however!
sorry anon for making this so long, i know i should have just answered with a "haha yeah" but if i get to talk about william unprompted. im taking every chance 😔 anyway id like to see a cassidy confirmation or something too, like the PQ connection etc but i feel like cassidy moved on from trapping William a long time ago (and thats why hes back perhaps?)
yea i could go on forever and not come to a conclusion pfff

Okay so, context on the Patient 46 thing, the leaked "Tales from the PizzaPlex" story "GGY" is about a boy named Tony and his two friends investigating "GGY", a mysterious pizzaplex visitor who has THE High Score in every arcade game at the PizzaPlex, for a class project. I can't remember the third kid's alias, but one of the two friends uses the codename "Rab".
(This is true of the PizzaPlex in game, where if you check the set-dressing arcade machines, you'll notice that "GGY" holds the High Score on all of them. "GGY" does not hold the High Scores for the interactive arcade games: "Monty Golf AR-cade", "Balloon World" that was hidden in Sun's room, the unused "Chica's Feeding Frenzy", or the Princess Quest trilogy.)
While investigating, an abnormally homicidal Glamrock Freddy tries to stop Tony from uncovering the truth of GGY.
Tony discovers that GGY uses a special Party Pass with a magnetic strip that lets it work like a security pass to get into areas that guests aren't usually allowed in, and that he also spends a lot of time visiting the PizzaPlex after hours.
Additionally, GGY's pass has the name of three people, all of whom are councilors at Tony's school who recently went missing (i.e. three of Vanessa's and 46's therapists, who were apparently employed by both Fazbear Entertainment and a local elementary school). GGY was apparently taking his therapists to the PizzaPlex after hours, implicitly to have Glamrock Freddy kill them for him.
When Tony tries to write the report, Rab gets angry, deletes the entire thing, and submits a completely fictitious account.
Tony gets mad at Rab, and calls him by his real name: "Greg".
The story concluded with Greg/Rab inviting Tony to meet him at the PizzaPlex, implying that Tony will soon die at Glamrock Freddy's hands.
(Also, this implicitly means that "Rab" was short for "Rabbit".)
Also, the story revealed that the Blob and Burntrap are enemies, and that Gregory was helping Burntrap keep it contained.
The Blob kills Gregory because it thinks he's still helping Afton, and doesn't realize he was being controlled at the time.
The reason Gregory dresses like the Crying Child from FNaF4 is because Afton was using him as a replacement for his dead son, the same way he turned Vanny into a replacement for Scrap Baby.
Something happened that either purged Glitchtrap from Gregory's mind or allowed the real Gregory to resurface, and Vanny was sent to either kill him or bring him back under control (it all depends on whether or not the animatronics kill Gregory or capture him before he shatters them).
Also, if I had to guess, translators probably assumed Patient 46 was Vanessa since the only clue the player gets that the therapists are talking to someone else is that the number on the CD player's screen changes depending on who's session is being recorded.
Also, that's why Freddy felt Gregory looked familiar even though he had no guest profile, Freddy used to be GGY's attack dog/personal assassin.
A lot of fans are just mad this VERY IMPORTANT PLOT INFORMATION was dropped in a book most fans wouldn't read and not the GAME ITSELF.
I.
Once again, this raises so many questions.

What's your opinion on GGY and the mimic theory ?
Opinion on GGY: I'm not fully convinced of Gregory being patient 46, mostly because of his age. Also how he reacts to stuff in the game, because he shows surprise at a lot of things, including Vanny. If he used to be under Aftons control, surely he would've at least kinda recognized her. Idk, it is a cool idea tho and if it does turn out to be true I won't be too mad.
As for Mimic: Personally I was one of the exceedingly few people who was completely fine with Afton being brought back as Burntrap. I'm kinda ok with the mimic theory, I don't really have strong feelings on it one way or another. I do want to hear an explanation for why it started mimicking Afton, and how it learned to mind control people.
I will say that it does kinda make me sad since it means that the true villain isn't really evil, it is just a machine following its programming. It just doesn't feel as strong as if the villain was genuinely doing evil things because they were legit evil. It also really dampens the impact of the whole "Afton" ending.
Thanks for sending in this ask, please send me more!

Right, a lot to unpack here!
I’m 99.9 percent sure the Mimic is separate from Afton. Last time we saw Burntrap, he was heading up, courtesy of the Blob. The Mimic is found further down, behind a concrete wall that Cassie breaks. And they look completely different.
And…I barely believe the whole GGY/Dr. Rabbit thing. The game never shows us any evidence that Gregory was under the control of Afton/Mimic, let alone the fact that he would have to have amnesia for the story to make sense.
Now, let me address the points you made, as best as I can.
1. Freddy is supposed to be in Fazerblast as its mascot, but it is weird that the markings on his stomach are the same.
2. I didn’t notice that, thanks for pointing it out. Still, the fact that Ruin Freddy has a present and base game Freddy gave his up speaks volumes to me.
3. What I was getting at was, base Freddy doesn’t have “Prototype” on his foot. Ruin Freddy does.
4. My point was, if Princess Quest happened, I don’t see why there would be a new Glitchtrap, and enemies from the game visible. Glitchtrap was defeated in the Princess Quest ending.
5. As far as I know, the arcades were just a way to beat Glitchtrap. He was spread throughout the building, but again, that’s as far as I know.
6. …This one can go either way, to be honest. It depends on your interpretation.
7. I’m a bit sceptical Gregory made the security system, but only because he says “it was designed” instead of “we designed it”. I do agree he couldn’t have built it on his own. And I’m pretty sure the VANNI network was something Fazbear Ent. made, not Gregory and/or Vanessa. The mimic merely hijacked it, and Helpy
8. If Vanny is still around, it doesn’t make sense for that to be her base anymore. Not a lot of kids go to ruined buildings. I don’t know how much time has passed, but the first Vanny graffiti we see is on top of all the others, meaning it was made recently.
9. Hmmm…best I can come up with is MXES subdued Glitchtrap. Or, when on the verge of being defeated, Afton retreated into Vanessa’s mind, leaving her under his control.
10. I don’t have an answer for this one, except there is an achievement for discovering the elevator which leads to that ending.
11. The fire could’ve just been contained to the basement, and what happened down there could have caused damage throughout the building. We do get messages in the base game telling us the foundation is unstable. The blob, tunnelling out, as we can see in chapter 1, could’ve also been the cause. I always thought the earthquake was a cover story from Fazbear ent.
12. I went back to look, and this could just be me, but it kinda looks like there is some fire damage, but only in the rooms with the burners. I will agree that if there was burnt wood, my case would be stronger.
13. This is probably the strongest piece of evidence for Princess Quest being canon, and I’m not completely denying it could be.
I feel if it was, though, the Burntrap ending definitely happened alongside it. If Burntrap hadn’t been awoken, how would Gregory know about him to draw him, or the blob for that matter? Again, I think it’s entirely possible Princess Quest happened with the Burntrap ending, freeing Vanessa in the process. But I also think there’s contradictory evidence that’s worth discussing. I hope I didn’t come off as rude either.
ALRIGHT lot to unpack here as well!! Thank god I love talking LMAO
---
Starting off with Mimic-Afton/Burntrap I think they're the same for a few reasons; curled up arm, parallel between Burntrap ending and Scooper ending composition, similar posture, Burntrap hand on Mimics model, theme from the Burntrap fight playing when Mimic jumps down to start chasing Cassie, Mimic being described to get into suits through the back and Burntrap having a large rip in the back of the springbonnie suit that was sealed shut with metal, etc etc.
But to counter the "Burntrap was going up while Mimic is deep down" argument; There's environmental storytelling in the Mimics lair that point to Gregory having to crawl into the Mimics lair through a vent to lure it in there, before quickly scampering out before the vent collapses. Even if Burntrap ending was canon, him going up while Mimic being trapped down doesn't mean much to me when Mimic was already outside of that room and had to be lured back in before powering up the MXES.
---
For GGY/Dr. Rabbit; III don't feel like getting into that whole thing right now LMAO Valid to not believe it, but I don't believe it holds much merit in this argument. Assuming it was brought up because of my point that "Burntrap is just based on Gregorys fuzzy memory", it could also be based off the description that Vanessa gave based on her memory, or just a design Gregory made up because he didn't have a solid idea of what the Mimic looked like, but still wanted to draw him getting burnt to a crisp cause he was a bitch LMAO
---
I feel like, compared to him being there because that's where he was decommissioned in the PQ ending, him just being there because "he's the mascot" doesn't hold a whole lot of weight- though I won't say it's a completely invalid argument.
If the present being there was meant to be a hint to that not being our Freddy, I see no real reason why it'd be a different present- doing that just muddies and confuses things (though honestly that's basically just Ruin Freddy as a whole).
The 'prototype' label could've simply been covered by paint so guests wouldn't notice it when Freddy was walking around or performing, and worn off as his paint chipped while rotting away in Fazerblast.
Not even gonna lie I just don't have much of an argument for this one- I don't think sprites from the game being on the wall means much of anything other than maybe just Glitchtrap being there as a looming presence even after defeat/to make the room creepier? Idk it's just not a detail I ever gave much thought beyond 'yeah those sure are some sprites on the wall that hammer in the PQ theming of the room'.
Fair point, but defeating Glitchtrap in the game is depicted as defeating Glitchtrap as a whole- like that's where the core of the virus was stored or something. Defeat the core, the rest falls apart- yknow? That's how I've always seen it.
yeah ig this one is opinion based- I just think having such a huge spectacle like that just to show that an ending isn't canon when all the other endings only had comic pages feels weird/a waste of time when it comes to development.
I think he definitely had a hand in it's creation; how would he know what it was designed to do? Why would he lure Mimic into the Mimics lair if it was already trapped there by MXES? <- Regarding the last point, why go back in the first place if not to create the MXES? If he was already free and didn't have plans of creating/setting up the MXES, I don't see why he'd go back. As for the VANNI system; I personally think it was something that was modified by Vanessa and Gregory for the MXES security program, I probably worded that poorly before. It could've been made by Faz ent and then modified by 3 star fam to fit MXES after the place was abandoned, and also renamed for whatever reason- Same reason why Map Bot have rabbit ears carved out of their skull; Vanessa just wanted to, lmao.
Whether the Pizzaplex is her base or not, if they're gonna shove all this proof that PQ ending is canon in our face, but still intend for Burntrap ending to be canon, then why would Vanny never show up? Not even the slightest hint of her beyond the graffiti is there. While it could make sense in-universe for her to not be there, if we're talking from a storytelling perspective it's just a bad decision imo. Like I said before; this DLC is meant to clarify which ending is canon, so if Burntrap is canon then why would they not bring Vanny in other than to just fuck her out of more screen time(which is something a lot of people were begging for).
If Glitchtrap retreated out of the Pizzaplex, then why would he still be in the PQ room? I just think the most logical conclusion would be that, after Glitchtraps defeat, the animatronics were put under MXES control so they could use the glamrocks against anyone trying to free the Mimic, as we saw in Ruin.
I don't think that there being an achievement for reaching the elevator holds as much leverage as there being an achievement for the PQ ending. There's also an achievement for the cutscene leading to the PQ ending, "I am not me", when Freddy is shattered by the STAFF bots and Gregory runs off to either get the PQ ending of the decommissioned ending. Finding the elevator is an achievement in the same way "False Alarm" (escape the prize counter) or "Superstar" (survive till 6am) are achievements. They're impressive and points in gameplay that the player is rewarded for.
I also assumed that the Tangle getting out is was caused the collapse, but I don't think the earthquake was as much a cover up as it was like- "the Tangle tried to tunnel out of the Pizzaplex, but because of how unstable the Pizzaplex is, it basically caused an earthquake and made the place collapse in on itself"
I went back and played through chapter 9 to see for myself- it looks like there's a bit of fire damage on the doors? But everything else just looks like dirt and decay rather than fire damage. Plus the damage on the doors could be excused as being from the Fnaf 6 ending fire. If there was fire damage in the surrounding areas but not in the area where the water reaches(since I noticed the beginning area of the fnaf 6 location was pretty wet) I could see the point of it not spreading too far, but this just makes it look like it didn't spread at all outside of the burner rooms- which- from the ending cinematic in the Burntrap ending- we see isn't true since Gregory and Freddy are running towards the elevator while the fire blazes behind them. Also- if Burntrap is canon, then how is the elevator working for Cassie? It was said that the elevator could only handle one more trip, so if Gregory and Freddy used that trip down, then how did Cassie also use it when it would be in arguably worse shape? That also goes for how Gregory and Freddy got out in the Burntrap ending, assuming it's canon, since they were running towards the elevator that shouldn't be working anymore.
idk what to say we agree on this one mostly lmao
Bonus point: Could be a translation error, but Gregory's friend he mentions at the beginning of the Mimic chase is referred to with feminine pronouns/terms in the Spanish(?) dub iirc
Edit; bonus point two! Burntrap may have the cinematic cutscene, but it seems like all the endings were meant to have similar cutscenes but ended up getting scrapped because of the deadline- considering how late in development the comic endings were made as seen in older builds. They simply could've finished Burntraps ending cutscene first, then the decommissioned Freddy one, then realized they didn't have time for the rest and scrapped them.
EDIT 2: BONUS POINT THREE!! Burntraps endo in SB is actually more accurate to Mimics description in the epilogues than his actual model iirc
I've heard people say that Burntrap and PQ are canon, but that doesn't make sense to me personally cause like- if they're both canon, why did we see them separately? How would that timeline work with freeing Vanessa if she's freed through the PQ games, but you're saying the Glitchtrap was never defeated nor was PQ3? I don't see a reason to split them up, and I don't really see how this timeline would connect- not saying it's not true, but I just don't think it makes sense
I haven't read back on all I wrote, but I believe I already stated earlier that Gregory could've just drawn based on Vanessa's description of Mimic and Tangle if we're assuming that GGY isn't canon
I'm pretty firm in believing PQ ending is canon, but I also agree that there is definitely some other evidence that's worth discussing! That's the fun of fnaf, after all! And don't worry, you didn't come across as rude at all! Thanks for spending the time to explain you pov to me! :D

Why I have mixed feelings on The Mimic
I have mixed feelings on The Mimic after playing Ruin.
Why I've grown to like it.
To me the new FNAF games are the horrors of Fazbear Entertainment not learning their lesson and repeating the sins of the past and The Mimic is built on the agony of Freddy's. It's Afton's legacy being passed down. The agony he started is being continued to this day and you can bet he is smiling and proud that even tho he's in a hell of his own making, his legacy is being continued and he couldn't be even more proud, although his pride and satisfaction is unsettling Cassidy and Charlie. The Mimic is Fazbear's Curse and while William might not be around, his legacy remains or I guess you could say William's legacy is remnant(I had to)
Why I don't like it.
The original story of Security Breach was scrapped because of Sony's meddling and Scott's bad communication. To me, The Mimic felt like course correcting. Vanny's potential was squandered. Help Wanted seemed like it was leading to William's revival.
The Pizzaplex being built over the remains over Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place feels meaningless if it wasn't about William's revival.
Princess Quest shows Glitchtrap as something we'd see Afton turning into the Afton Amalgamation. But if that wasn't the plan, why even include it in Princess Quest?
Tumblr media
The Princess is labeled as Cassidy in Princess Quest. But if Glitchtrap isn't Afton, why label her as Cassidy and paint it as Cassidy trying to free Vanessa and ending Afton once and for all?
I feel as though Afton was meant to be the puppet master.
William was Glitchtrap and Burntrap was the plan, but Princess Quest is the canon ending and that stopped Burntrap’s revival and it just melted away(you can see the steam in the recharge station in Ruin) so without William, The Mimic was free to return to what it was created to do(dismember limbs) and lure Cassie to free it.
I think William was the puppet master because of the trailer line
"When i first found you, you were nothing, you were small, pathetic… But now, you are more…. Are you ready?" This could be Afton talking to The Mimic or Vanny.
“You will do as I say, you will bring me what I want, and if you fail me, then you will–both of you–BURN!”
BOTH OF YOU, meaning Vanny and The Mimic.
Just keep things SIMPLE. Fazbear Entertainment was cutting costs and scanning the circuit boards of Scraptrap and the remains of the animatronics from FFPS and that’s how Glitchtrap was made.(or you know fully intended to create Glitchtrap because someone in Fazbear wanted William to return) Glitchtrap wants a follower that will help make him whole and help him fulfill his plans. Which is restore his family in his twisted image. Glitchtrap wants full control of the Pizzaplex, Vanny is completing his instructions, retrieving his body and uses Glamrock Bonnie’s remains to repair his suit and Burntrap wants to kill Gregory for his remnant. Not everything needs to be overly complicated, Scott.
Everything that made Vanny special was taken away by The Mimic and Gregory as GGY. They've made it clear that Vanny didn't matter and that was bullshit. It’s like every step in this new narrative seems like her character’s importance is getting diminished to less and less, like half the stuff she’s supposed to have done in this narrative has been has been…the roles of it has been filled in by other characters. Gregory is the one who puts the Glitch in the Pizzaplex, but she was the one who originally supposed to do that in the scrapped emails for FNAF AR and she hasn’t even been mentioned ONCE in these new books. Gregory has. The Mimic has. Glitchtrap technically has, but like no Vanny. What the fuck? There’s no presence of her and she’s supposed to be one of the new main antagonists, but now they’ve completely shafted her character for the sake of WHAT??? So not only did they fuck over Vanny in the games, they do the same fucking thing in the books. What WAS THE FUCKING POINT OF HELP WANTED IF YOU WERE GOING TO GIVE VANNY’S ROLE TO GREGORY???
They didn't have to use The Mimic. They could've used Vanny. Vanny could've used recordings of Gregory and synthesized his voice to lure Cassie and other children down to the Pizzaplex. Could make the Vanny or Burntrap endings canon. This could've been what redeemes Vanny. But no, instead they gave up and abandoned Vanny altogether and gives her role to The Mimic. "Cassie could be the new Vanny" I don't give a shit. Help Wanted established Vanny and Security Breach was supposed to be VANNY'S GAME. If they wanted a new villain so badly, they had Vanny RIGHT FUCKING THERE!
I mean just imagine Ruined Vanny! Vanny is shattered by the Staffbots, but she's alive. Vanessa is dead, but Vanny remains. To keep her body moving she repairs herself with parts from staff bots and animatronic parts from Parts And Service. Vanny lives and she plans on getting her revenge on Gregory and any other child she can lure to continue Afton's work and you could've replaced MXES with the actual Glitchtrap. art by azoinab.
Tumblr media
But if they wanted Princess Quest to be canon, they could've used The Afton Amalgamation. Burntrap assimilates The Blob and becomes The Agony. The Pizzaplex is in ruins because of Afton. Have Gregory, Vanessa and Cassie working together to rebuild the Glamrocks, put together Happiest Day and ending Afton once and for all or ending Afton to how he dies in Fazbear Frights.
I am well aware that Five Nights At Freddy's is more than Afton, but saying we don't need William anymore is like saying Halloween doesn't need Michael Myers or saying Elm Street doesn't need Freddy Krueger. Complaining about William returning is like complaining about a horror icon returning, it's just dumb and silly. He is the monster that started it all and having a final end as the Afton Amalgamation would be more fitting than as Scraptrap.
To me, the script was flipped and the story was changed because of the reception to Security Breach. They gave up on Vanny and changed Afton to The Mimic. You can argue that Scott has this planned out since 2019 all you want, but using Afton's image for a new villain without any hints whatsoever in the game that this isn't Afton was just dumb. And honestly? We already had a Mimic esque character. Ennard. Ennard and Mimic are the same concept (evil endoskeleton mimics humans) and I think Ennard came out much better. When it comes down to it. Scott had bad communications as what he wanted Steel Wool to do and The Mimic just comes out of left field and at the expense of Vanny and Afton.

All right, as much as I’d like to be hyped for Ruin, I’m gonna go ahead and post some negative predictions. Think of this as a worst case scenario.
(1) This is a stretch but here it is: Ruin has been canceled and/or postponed to next year. This explains the lack of news.
(2) If we do get Ruin soon, the gameplay’ll be the exact same as SB but with darker atmospheres/no animatronic assistant. No puzzles/cool additions to shake up stuff. No fascinating lore bits. Just absolute rage and desolation.
(3) Speaking of lore, get ready for more questions than answers. Which means no Afton backstory lore like I’ve predicted/theorized.
(4) Vanny will get screen-time, but not much story relevance. Same goes for Burntrap + Blob/Glitchtrap. Main concern will most likely be Gregory hacking the remnants of the animatronics due to being under Glitch’s control for most of the game— Including Freddy.
(5) The “Greg is bait/being controlled by Glitch again” twist will be revealed by the very end of the game, the Ruin Girl becomes SB’s “New Susie” after the twist reveal, and it’s the only way this story ends. No way to save the others. No way to stop the inevitable cycle. No extra story/alternate endings to get if you try to resist Glitchtrap’s orders/get collectibles a la FNAF World.
(6) Glamrock Bonnie’s backstory will remain unexplained. Although I’m personally thinking he was the first to be hijacked by Glitchtrap so Monty had to pull self-defense atm, I’m pretty sure this will be debunked and left open ended otherwise.
(7) Sun&Moon are either not going to be in here or they’ll get very little screentime. Same goes with DJ Music Man.
(8) Somehow, Eleanor gets a game-verse debut. And we will have no way to fight her.
(9) I’ll repeat this again: There will be no way to save Vanny this time. No Princess Quest retries, since the systems will be most likely be burned up in-verse. Same goes with William Afton, if anyone was looking for a miraculous redemption arc with him before he goes down in flames one more time. Either he’s officially Glitchtrap and he’s lost all his humanity, he’s too far gone in some other way, or UCN’s claimed him as its prisoner and Glitchtrap’s just a heartless copy.
(10) If we do get a boss fight with Blob + Burntrap, it’ll be a weird mix of the DJ Music Man fight and the original Burntrap fight. And with no banter/monologuing to lighten the tense and furious mood you’d most likely be in.
(11) Any pre-‘83 lore will not be dropped as well, as Ruin Girl will be too focused/forced to focus on finding Gregory to actually take advantage of her situation and figure out stuff. This means that we will be left in the dark about what happened in FNAF 4 (and before) yet again.
(12) GregBot is confirmed, but is not connected to Crying Child. Or he is, but not in a less lore-complicated way. Thankfully, GGY might’ve debunked this point. Maybe.
There’s plenty more I’m sure I can come up with, but here’s the TL;DR: It’s gonna be lore-lacking/absolutely baffling in the worst way. It’s gonna cause people to ragequit and possibly even leave/never join the fanbase. And we’re gonna see the cycle of Afton’s hysteria all over again, starting with a new “Susie” and “Evan” as a catalyst with no way to stop what’s coming— Maybe even on a much grander scale.
But hopefully none of this goes down. I’m just dragging my expectations to rock bottom just in case.
