Fashion is very personal and culture dependent. I've seen a video of someone criticizing miraculous fashion while wearing something I wouldn't consider at all. I'm not going to tell them I dislike their fashion sense because what someone wears is up to them. But people criticizing Marinette not wearing different outfits is also ignoring the 3d medium of the show and the cost. people don't know/ignore restrictions of official shows while critiquing. btw I think Gabe's new outfit is a vibe XD

Like, whenever I criticize this fandom about a common trend, like calling Adrien an idiot or complaining about the outfits, I solely refer to people who unironically (meaning they aren’t just memeing), fully believe that their personal opinions are some kind of universal truth that has to be spouted at everybody no matter what that person's opinion on the topic is. I've seen the "Gabriel's look is so ugly" people spam people who also aren't big on the design (meaning people who agree with them) in addition to creeping into the notes of every person saying anything vaguely positive about the new look. Fan redesigns also almost without fail get comments along the lines of: “this is better than canon!” It’s one thing to have an opinion, it’s a wholly another to keep telling everyone about it.

Every single one of my beefs with the Miraculous fandom always seems to come down to fan entitlement. Entitled fans are people who are convinced that their opinion is the only right one and they'll scream their opinion at everyone until no dissenting opinion can be heard. That's annoying and exhausting. It's why I aim to keep any of my show-specific gripes out of the main tags and why I don't bother with posts that are clearly viewing the show really differently from me. Other people have a right to have opinions just like I do and, since I don't like having certain opinions shoved into my face, I try to give others the same consideration of being able to avoid mine.

The reason I try to stay clear of the Miraculous Youtube vid scene is specifically because those videos so often ooze entitlement and self-importance. Like, they can tell me what their perspective is and what angle they're approaching the show from, but if they try to tell me that their opinion is the most correct one or that the PAID PROFESSIONALS can't do their jobs because they have personal gripes with it, I nope out instantly. And all the "critical" approaches to the show veer into this territory at least halfway through if they don't outright start there.

Like, honesty hour? There's this one person who makes videos about their redesigns for the characters, and they're always so over-designed and they talk over their video how they'd "fix" the canon stories for these characters and I just end up hating the designs both because they aren't to my tastes, but also because of their entitlement. They tell me these designs are better than canon and that they can also write better than the staff? I instantly dislike them as a person, and then they give me designs that wouldn't actually work in the show due to being over-designed and hard to animate in CG (or 2D to be honest) and also that just don't fit the characters thematically and I just end up hating them with such a burning passion that just seeing a thumbnail of a recommended video where I recognize their style makes me make the most UGH face imaginable.

I always quickly look for something palatable to watch to get rid of the feeling. Usually an actual analysis of a storytelling device will do the trick.

Also, the entire point of a superhero or supervillain costume is to be a vibe, so I consider your comment a winning endorsement. Superhero and supervillain designs should tell you the basic premise of a character with a glance, the point is to have a strong "vibe".

Till the end of the moon review

I recently rewatched the drama and felt like reviewing the first Cdrama I ever watched. After watching some cdramas in the past 7 months since I first watched the drama, I now trust myself to write a decent enough review after somewhat familiarizing myself with the genre and overall cdrama space.

Rating: 9.5/10 (1000 bonus points for searing itself in my mind and staying there even after 7 months)

Acting: 10/10

Story: 9/10

Chemistry: 100000000/10

OST: 10/10

Costumes: 10/10

Hair & Makeup: 9.5/10

Production/Set Design: 10/10

Visual Effects/CGI: 10/10

Rewatch Value: 10/10

Li Susu, an immortal time travels 500 years into the past to prevent the ascension of the Devil god, who goes on to destroy the world in the future. It's a story of love and hate, good and evil, redemption and damnation. The characters are very well conceptualized and depicted beautifully by talented actors, stunning costumes, really good hair and makeup, and great cinematography. The amazing production and set design along with impressive visual effects and CGI really immerse the audience in the world of TTEOTM. This was a high budget drama and it shows... each and every frame of the drama, it feels lavish. If you are even a little bit interested go watch the first episode and l promise you'll be hooked and end up finishing the drama.

Now unto my spoiler filled thoughts:

I find it interesting that the typical backstory themes and some character arcs of the male lead and the female lead have been swapped here. The FL usually has a dead parent or abusive household or terrible luck and so on. The ML usually comes to the FL's rescue or stands up for her and so on. We all know that Tantai Jin is Disney Princess coded given his dead mother, abusive and neglectful upbringing and his animal telepathy powers. LSS both as Ye Xiwu and LSS repeatedly saves TTJ and stands for him. While TTJ also saves her many times, he does not get a chance to stand up for her because she usually takes care of herself and she is not suspected or wrongfully accused where she would need someone to support her. Also, TTJ basically became a part of LSS's family as her uncle took him under his wing and he promised to stay in Hengyang Sect with her in ep 35 before all hell breaks loose. And who can forget that LSS marks TTJ with her Phoenix mark, typical ML behavior.

Their romance is my ultimate enemies to lovers pairing. It has just the right amount of fighting, messiness, animosity and angst for me. I feel that other pairings don't have enough of it for me to consider them as an enemies-to-lovers couple. Their visuals, their chemistry, their acting and the story everything was so great. Who else has three epic weddings in one drama? I am still not able to move on from this couple and drama.

While the misunderstandings were obviously supposed to lead to a turning point in the story, I feel like it was in character for them to jump to conclusions and assume the worst without fully thinking things through and which then led to them acting rashly. I mean both TTJ and LSS had bad history between them so in the early stages of their relationship where their trust in each other was shaky, it's understandable that they were prone to misunderstandings. Also, they're both not good at communicating with each other. In the mortal arc, LSS was never fully honest with TTJ and they never addressed their past misdeeds properly (like OG Ye Xiwu was very cruel to TTJ and he never talked to her about it and just brushed it off). In the immortal arc, TTJ deceived LSS when he became the Devil God.

For the most part the story was gripping, progressed at a good pace and conveyed many themes that become apparent on rewatches. Though it was obvious that the last 5 episodes and the ending were rushed because the censorship rules changed as they went into production. This was one of those dramas that needed at least 5-10 more episodes to properly flesh out the story. It was a missed opportunity that we didn't get to see LSS ruling the Demon realm and Ami's antics.

Another victim of the decreased episode count is the arc of the second leads. Tbh, I wish that Pian Ran and Ye Qingyu were the SLs but I think I would have enjoyed seeing the complete character arc of Xiao Lin/Gongye Jiwu and Ye Bingchang/Mo Nv and the resolution between them. That said it was appalling that they didn't bring back Pian Ran and Ye Qingyu in the immortal arc. I really missed their dynamic with each other and with the main leads. It is disappointing that they didn't even get an open/ambiguous ending to give us some closure and satisfaction.

The actress did a phenomenal job in making us hate her as Ye Bingchang and Tian Huan. Those characters as villians really worked as they were in a way the ones who had the markings of the female lead (these characters at the start of their stories could easily be heroines in any other story) but they turn into villians. Tantai Minglang was a good, serviceable villian and the actor did a lot with how little he was given. Di Mian was selfish and manipulative traitor who was almost scarily competent. I mean he did achieve what he wanted by becoming the Devil God and opening the Tongbei formation. The point of Devil God as a villian is not his character and his motivations but rather he represents our inner demons and how each of us has the power to overcome them.

Out of all the dramas I've watched, only TTEOTM's entire OST is on my regular playlist to listen to. Every time I listen to "Let's be like this for 10,000 years", I feel the love and tragedy of Sang Jui and Ming Ye's story all over again. It's impressive that a song can make you relive those feelings and the story every time you listen to it. All the songs fit wonderfully in the scenes they're played over and also make us feel those emotions again when listening to them separately.

On my first watch, the dream arc felt a little out of place and jarring, which, in hindsight, was probably due to the fact that it was my first cdrama. Upon rewatch I've come to appreciate that it gives a look into the age of Gods and it shows that the Devil God was so powerful that to stop him the Gods had to sacrifice themselves and only Ming Ye was able to survive. The action sequences here are just magnificent to watch and they definitely seem movie level. It also serves as a warning to the audience, LSS and TTJ that they could also have a tragic end if they don't learn the lessons from it. Unfortunately, in the mortal arc they did have a tragic end. However, in the immortal arc, TTJ is able to learn from his experience as Ming Ye and succeeds in defeating the OG Devil God and becoming the Devil God himself with control over his own destiny.

One of the most prominent themes of the drama is redemption and that love and compassion are powerful enough to change a person's fate. The themes of Taoism and Buddhism are evoked throughout the drama. There are also many other minor themes like the food is used as a guesture kindness (when LSS first gives TTJ a proper meal), affection/care (when TTJ gave LSS the goose themed meal), love (when LSS gives badly cooked meals to TTJ), betrayal and trickery (the poisoned porridge) and comraderie, friendship, brotherhood and familial love (when TTJ shares meals with his sect brothers and master). Both TTJ and LSS have dead moms, terrible fathers and great adoptive dads (Zhao You and Qu Xuan Zi), these are just some observations I made.

I may not love the ending but I don't hate it either as it was obvious to me that they reunite once again and live happily as a family (the audio ending really makes it clear). Even though I'm irritated we don't get to see it, I'm still satisfied that we get a hopeful ending rather than a tragic one.

Until now I've mostly been lurking in fandom spaces by liking and very rarely commenting and reblogging but never posting my own original post. The fact that my first ever post is on TTEOTM shows how much I love it. I'll probably be posting more TTEOTM analysis stuff so be on the look out for that if you're interested. Also, I welcome your recommendations as I'm still a newbie to cdramas and kdramas.

My complicated feelings towards a post I once read: "Painter of the Night is more problematic than Killing Stalking"

You know I have been thinking about this one post I saw either in Tumblr or Twitter or maybe even Somerton dude said that on his POTN video. In short, I don't remember where...but the thought kinda keeps popping up. The post said that POTN is actually more problematic than Killing Stalking because POTN romanticizes abuse and rape by making the characters actually fall in love while KS didn't do that. In the latter both the leads die but in the former, they fall in love and live happily ever after.

Now, my initial thoughts were...anger. LOL I hated this take because...well, I LOVE painter of the night. I have read it so many times. I can't comment on KS because I never finished it. I hated Sangwoo from the beginning. And Yoon Bum was just annoying tf outta me. But now that I let the post marinate in my brain juices....I actually...kinda agree (???) with this post....I think?? When you really think about it, even though I haven't finished KS, I do KNOW the characters die. Like, objectively that's a way less problematic message. Yeah, if you fall for a serial killer, you die. But also...I don't think POTN can be one-to-one compared to KS. They fall under the same umbrella term. I get why one would compare. The characters have similar structural design (although I never thought of comparing), both the MLs were violent and sexually abusive to the MCs, and the MCs were basically kidnapped and held captive by the MLs. But the way the story progressed in very different imo. KS leans more into criminal, serial killer aspect, more psychological while POTN is more...idk I would say personal drama, classism, forbidden love. They are very different stories and so, to me, one should expect very different endings to them. KS is more realistic and despairing while POTN is more dark fairy tale-ish, more romantic, more character driven rather than plot driven. A way darker version of beauty and the beast kind of storyline.

Regardless, I guess, you can still say POTN is more problematic than KS in the pov of how the story could influence its readers. I...I still grapple with the idea tho. I don't think I agree...but I get it. My own bias contributes greatly to it, no doubt. I still think it's an interesting idea. But still....as I said, I haven't read KS completely (no plans to do so too), so, I can't say much on how SW and YB relationship is. I know enough about KS to see why the og poster would think the way they do.

Things I hate in isekai manhwas that I'm going to change in my hopefully future webtoon someday:

The protagonist of a romance isekai must be a girl (nah as a female I've gotta say sometimes I need to see more isekai romance from a male pov, so my mc is a dude and I love my hilarious son very much)

They don't talk about the reincarnation/transmigration (on chapter 2, not doing that misunderstandings bullcrap)

The current fl and og fl / current ml and og ml must hate each other or the ogs are villains (they're all dumb besties all four of them, I don't know how that kingdom is surviving with them but by god if they aren't friendship goals)

There can't be girl/boy friendships without romantic subplot (the mc is besties with og fl and fl is childhood friends with og ml and none of the see each other romantically ever. In fact the mc has more chances with og ml than og fl)

The reincarnators/transmigrators don't make modern references (absolutely untrue. My mc and og fl are both from modern times and the webtoon will be filled with memes and modern references. Sorry not sorry)

The villainess doesn't act like a villainess when she's a romantic interest (my girl may not kill people but only because she's being held back by the other 3. The villainess can be a romantic interest, can be funny and kind, but she can also bring down an entire aristocrat family in cold blood because they were plotting against her)

One of them (usually mc or ml) is more powerful than the others (they all specialize in different fields of power and combat so there's no way of knowing who's more powerful. They just treat each other equally)

They're always straight (this may be because homophobia in Korea and most of Asia is very widespread tho there are some manhwas that discuss sexualities. I will talk about sexuality and gender in my webtoon and some of the characters are queer. Just because the main ships are girl x boy doesn't mean that they are automatically straight)

Never finding out why the transmigration/reincarnation happened (see that's super annoying for me. Why is this character so important that they were brought to this world? What were the circumstances? What's their connection? I'm leaving that for two of the biggest plot twists of the webtoon but they really tie up the story)

It's my dream to make a webtoon and I already have my OCs' character designs done and a general plot down but I'm not able to do it now since I'm not confident enough in my art, needs a lot of time and financial support. I hope to create it someday in the future

17.6 grams of CBD OG Kush turned into about 1.5 teaspoons of FECO.

this strain isn't pure cbd, there's still some thc in it (the chemical in weed that gets you high) so i'm not even going to try testing it until the weekend... and even then, a single drop lol.

the strain info page says it probably had about 14%cbd and 7%thc to start with. so in the 17.6 grams i started with, i'd have a max of 2,464mg of cbd and 1,232mg of thc. reduced to 7.5ml (give or take, i haven't measured it yet), that would be 328mg of cbd and 164mg of thc per ml.

the actual amount is probably less, because i did an outdoor organic grow instead of a tightly controlled indoor grow designed to maximize cannabinoid production. i am pretty sure i'm going to have to dilute it with a carrier oil so i don't get high as balls, i just want it for anxiety.

Not sure if the title is too generic, or this is just a super obscure manhwa, but it was basically impossible to find the og Korean cover design. ;;;

Summary Our main girl was isekai-ed into a romance fantasy novel... as an extra who barely exists. So she decides to be ~big-brain~ and takes a vacation while the events of the og novel happen. But oops, now that all the trouble is over, OG!ML thinks her actions were super sus. So he sends her to the ~*cold north*~ to investigate the Duke’s curse. Except the King is just straight up trolling (and lowkey a matchmaker), there’s no curse... but that doesn’t mean there ain’t no plot happening because some villains ain’t dead yet.

Tropes   - isekai-ed but I’m just an extra!??!?   - past life explained in one chapter   - the main plot has already happened this would technically be sidestory material

Rating: I enjoyed my time reading this It seems like a cute fun read Status (as of 5 Mar 2023) Ongoing. Pretty new, though I don’t think it’ll run for that long. I’ll be surprised if it hits 100 episodes.

Cassmire: The Loyal Sword

Overall Rank: 9/10

This Manhwa is one of my personal favorites, with a story about Cassmire, the lead, risking her life becoming a mercenary to get the medicine her younger sister, Aria, needs to live. Through an accident where she hit her head Cassmire she regains memories of her past life and a story where her sister is the lead character. Though she used to be the villainess in the og story she sticks with her sister and will do anything to help her. Past this point I will be talking about spoilers and specifics of the story so you are warned.

From here I will be breaking down the story in 3 main categorizes and just talking about things I really want to touch on overall.

Firstly the art: 10/10: I dont care that some of the costume choices are interesting, I've heard a lot of people complain about BDSM wear but it honestly isnt that bad. No, the reason this gets a 10/10 is Cassmires design, like she has muscles are scars and looks hot as fuck like look at her.

I am gay and love muscle women and it is very lacking in this genre so it is really good to see. And she is also very cute on top of it. But overall the art is good to look at and has amazing character design for all of the cast as well.

Story 8/10: This one is hard to quantify as we still haven't really gotten into the meat of the story. There some talk about things that happen later in the story like how in the og story Aria saves the world we haven't gotten into anything that bad yet. Though that might make it seem slow it really isn't, the story has more been focused on character moments and while things go off the rails it doesn't seem to be world ending yet. I have quite enjoyed the most recent aspects of the story, it is good to see both the main characters flaws and her strength all in the couple chapters.

Characters 8/10: This was the hardest one for me to choose a rating for as I love Cassmire she is one of my favorite protags, she has so many good moments and has and sticks to her morals to help people. My only issue is how they weaken her by making her overly reliant on her aura but even that makes sense. And her relationship with her family is just so good to see. I love how ruthless her sister is in defending her and how her brother cares about her and how they fight like real siblings. And how her dad cares about all his kids in his own way and just wants to support and help her and it just so sweet and they all care about each other so much and that's the shit I love to see I love a good family dynamic. The reason this is an 8/10 and not a 10/10 is because of all the ml's. They are all kinda mid it is just the same troupe over and over again and I get it shes kind she saves people but 4 dudes and they are all the ml's from the og story. And I dislike all the hair color changes it doesn't make sense also they are boring. Also none of the leads have good chemistry with Cassmire, they are all cowards who won't talk to her about what they are feeling. I hate them all have open secrets and not talk with each other, but this is a me thing I know I have seen people like these ml she doesn't really seem to have chemistry with any of them. This story would get a 10/10 if she ends up with no one and just lives happily with her family but it probably just me who thanks this.

With all these combined this overall story is a 9/10, a beautiful story with an amazing main character and her family but the weak ml's stop this story from being a true 10/10. Thank you for reading my unedited review have a great day.

For Edling Week 2022. Day 7: Fanwork of fanwork | AU | Crossover | Headcanon | Free

Sort of mixing two prompts together with a Miraculous Ladybug AU, because why not. Artwork instead of a one-shot fic this time.

Some further thoughts for this AU below the cut:

I'm not the best at coming up with original names so I'll go the easy route and have them be Fullmetal Bug and Hēi Māo (is that correct? I don't speak Chinese, I had to look it up. Feel free to correct me).

The ladybug yoyo is actually attached to Ed's metal hand.

Also, as a civilian, his prosthetics look different.

Regarding their superhero suit designs, I tried to base them off slightly their main canon outfits because obviously I'm very original. So, Hēi Māo keeps the loose pants and the strips around his forearms, while Fullmetal Bug keeps the iconic red coat (except on the back it's got a ladybug symbol instead of the Flamel).

It's set in modern-day Amestris.

They're trying to get the Peacock miraculous back from a creepy-as-fuck guy that calls himself Father as his villain name.

Unlike in the show though, instead of akumatising random civilians who are having a bad day, he always sends one of the same six minions to every attack (Pride, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Sloth, and Wrath; although luckily, only one at a time. For the first season at least).

It's reverse lovesquare! Fullmetal Bug has a crush on Hēi Māo while Ling has a crush on Edward. I just think it fits better that way.

Ling is still a royal (though Xing is a constitutional monarchy so he doesn't give that much of a shit about it) and he's actually an exchange student for a year. So his superhero persona is on a time limit to defeat Father.

Ed and Al live with Izumi and Sig.

And Ed is trans because he’s always implicitly trans in all of my fanworks even when it’s not mentioned.

Hohenheim gave them the miraculouses (in secret, like in ML canon). He was planning on giving Alphonse the Black Cat but some unspecified stuff happened, Ling ended up with it instead and he turned out to be a great fit.

Speaking of Al. When at some point Ed finds out that Hohenheim gave him the miraculous (and after the angry shouting, a punch to the face, etc), he gets to choose temporary miraculous holders—his first choice is obviously his brother. Lan Fan always knew. She's the only one seemingly unaffected by the ML face blindness. She didn't say anything because she simply understood that it had to be a secret.

The Mustang Unit are police detectives and, unlike ML canon, are actually, actively trying to find out Father's identity and arrest him.

They collaborate with the superheros, but also it's a bit of a gray area since 1) technically Fullmetal and Hēi Māo are fighting outside of the law and 2) they're very obviously teenagers. So to work around this, the Central Police Department has Mustang keep and eye on them so that they don't do anything more illegal than what it's been agreed they need to do to defeat the akumas.

(Mustang doesn’t really care though. He mostly just ribs them from time to time. Hawkeye and the rest of the team keep tabs on them to make sure that they’re doing alright and to offer them an adult ear to talk to about their troubles if they need it.)

Later on Greed appears on the scene (OG Greed, with the Devil's Nest gang, although they're not chimeras here). He basically becomes Fullmetal and Hēi Māo's trump-card since he also wants to see his dad go down.

Speaking of Scarfoxes, I’ve voided mine out of the species permanently and it feels good to be free. Still waiting for them to update the ML, but it’ll be about another 3 weeks yet because of their stupid fucking void/unvoid rules imposing a 28-day wait on processing the request because they want to “be sure it’s what the user wants.”

I understand it was added because of the fury towards Darci and her bullshit when she tried to push out the $70 void fee and the Discord turned on her, but it’s been almost a year since then and I don’t see the justification in waiting anymore. People wouldn’t ask to void (or unvoid) if they weren’t certain they wanted it so the wait is just irritating.

Strangely, the mods don’t even have clear communication with each other at this point it seems, because when the void rules were drafted up, it was very clearly stated that permission from OG artist or designer wasn’t needed because you can’t control what you don’t own, but I had someone slide into my DMs after submitting my void request to tell me I DID need permission from the artists to void and it was just… ???????????????? How is it that a CS staff team can’t even be on the same page with each other??? Bro…

You know the ML won’t even approve anything before 3 days by CHOICE? Fucking why!? I’ve never seen a CS staff so allergic to doing their basic duties. I liked the species for its designs/anatomy, and tbh I still do, but I just can’t stick around anymore with such abysmal management and rules that just draw things out for no reason.

There’s no joy anymore, and there hasn’t been for a long time. I held on, hoping things might get better like a naive fool, but at this point I really just… I can’t anymore. Too many times I’ve had contradicting information thrown at me, and the same has happened to friends of mine, and very recently I got fucked over on a design update so I’m done. The design update issue was the final straw for me.

Worst part is I can’t even get my money back now, but that’s my own fault; I bought two items second hand specifically for the design update (because they were discounted by the seller) and now I have no use for them, but I can’t even fucking get rid of them… Hell, even selling the foxes themselves is getting more difficult at this point, which is why I opted to void. (Plus, maybe it’s petty of me but I’d rather keep my designs than resell them and have them end up in certain peoples’ hands… I did put a lot of work into developing them and even as generic furries I’m still attached to them.)

I’m sticking around the discord presently because I’m owed art (and really, really hate having to friend people just for business transactions), but at this point there’s no interest left for me in the species. On one hand it’s hard to watch something you’ve been a part of for six years slowly crawl into its grave, but on the other hand, it’s better to move on once something stops being enjoyable. Unless Darci is removed from the equation, I don’t think things will ever improve and she’s determined to take Scarfoxes to its grave rather than hand it over to someone else, so it’s better if the species just hurried up and dies at this point.

Either way, not my concern anymore. Thanks to the design update bullshit I have a fun new character design that isn’t bound by rules and restrictions, and soon all of my other voided designs will be just as free to change and use the way I want them to be. I’m so happy. Leaving most of the CS I was in was the best decision I’ve made.

Also got my Edeia designs voided for free too, finally, which was funny as hell because some of the ones that got voided didn’t even belong to me anymore.
