I can’t even with how they brought back Gamora and the other Guardians in Endgame RN and yet--Gamora may have gone back to space right away but how long do you think Peter and the others were on Earth?

Peter Quill deciding, ykw, while we’re here, let me show you around my home planet

Taking the Guardians to Washington, DC to visit the Smithsonian, and Drax, Mantis, Rocket, Nebula, and Groot asking the randomest questions any museum guide has ever heard

Rocket being such a snob about how primitive Terrans are

PQ remembering, hey, I remember this thing or trying to explain something he vaguely remembers but being totally incorrect or outdated

Drax and Rocket unable to get through security anywhere bc Quill forgets to tell them to leave their weapons on the Milano--or after he tells them five times they still forget or just ignore him

Introducing themselves everywhere they go, “We’re the Guardians of the Galaxy, we helped the Avengers save the universe, and we’ve saved the universe multiple times before now, we’re kind of a big deal.”

And nobody making a huge fuss about seeing this motley crew of aliens in public because half the universe disappeared for five years and there was crazy stuff happening years before then

In fact, every conceivable social media platform crashes because they are getting selfies and photos with so many people

Going to the zoo and Quill, Groot, and Mantis having to physically wrestle Drax into submission when he gets it into his head that he wants to free the animals

Drax being amused by the more dangerous animals but really he and Rocket are bored because even the most “dangerous” ones are unfrightening and uninteresting compared to denzeins they have seen across the universe over the years

But Mantis being in love with every animal she sees, even the rattlesnakes in the reptile house

DISNEY WORLD, ANYONE?--Quill never even got to go as a kid

(Honestly, it’s good to have Thor around, PQ hardly knows how to manage the others without Gamora)

Rocket and Nebula are just unamused by the amusement park rides because they are nothing compared to some of the spaceflights they have been on

But Quill and Drax are having the time of their lives

Doctor Strange and Wong following them around in disguise at a distance as damage control

And Quill. being like, what the heck, I should probably call up my family in Missouri, and he flies the Guardians out on the Milano. He spends the day with his relatives who have survived the snap/just come back, visits the graves of his mom and grandfather, “Anyway, yeah, I’m not dead, I got abducted by aliens, just thought I’d drop in and let you know, btw these are my weirdos now”

“Oh by the way, a few years ago a big giant blob of mysterious goo leveled half the town” “Wait, what?” 

Quill having to stop the Guardians from spending all of their money on souvenirs, WE ARE IN A SMALL SPACECRAFT, WE CAN’T TAKE ALL THIS JUNK WITH US, PICK ONE OR TWO SMALL THINGS!

Peter Quill eating all of the Earth junk food he can get his hands on that he has spent the last thirty years craving, taking the Guardians out to McDonalds--Mantis escaping to the playscape even though she is a grown adult-size

Quill catching up on Earth’s latest entertainment, he finally gets a device that can pack several thousand songs as well as downloaded movies, he would love to stay forever if he could--but space is calling, you know, and Thanos left a mess...but the sooner he goes the sooner he has to get back to processing the mess that is his life after being defeated by Thanos and the Gamora that isn’t his.

The Guardians actually going to a movie theater--Quill was so excited to go but he forgot to tell the others about cinema etiquette--

Quill trying his darndest to just forget and enjoy himself, but wishing that his Gamora was with him to share all of this :’(

(YKW--if he gets around to it, he might like the Star Wars prequels, idk, he wouldn’t care about bad dialogue or whatever, he’d like the sequels too, it’s just more Star Wars to him.)
