I was also rewatching lots of old bayern/germany videos with Thomas and Mats, and I noticed there was a period of Thomas joking about his appearance a lot, saying like "oh yeah I'm the most handsome man on the planet" but sarcasticly and laughing, and Mats would say something like "but you actually look great in this picture", "but you really are good looking, it's not a joke" and Thomas mostly just ignored it or brushed it off with a quick thanks, but I find it really nice that Mats would take it seriously and say it every time and Thomas should listen closely because it's true :3

That’s a genius idea anon! I don’t know about you, but old Bayern and DFB content is better than any comfort show for me. That’s a great observation about Thomas! It sounds like he definitely had a period where he was insecure about his appearance. Luckily, at least as far as I can tell, he’s come a long way since then. I love how even when Thomas was trying to be all self-deprecating, Mats saw through all that and took the opportunity to compliment him when he really needed it. Mats has always been so attentive to what he really needs; he never has to say what that is for Mats to know. I’m right there with you; Thomas should listen to good ol’ Matsi because the man’s right; He is handsome and always has been :)
