A few notes on the line “Romeo! Barely Balthasar.”:

Though Balthasar, as well as his part in the tragedy, is only identified in the latter half of the play, performances generally have his character take the role of an unnamed servant in the first act. 

The primary purpose of Balthasar is to wrongly tell Romeo that Juliet has died, before leading a grief stricken Romeo to what will be his and Juliet’s shared tomb. Balthasar’s devotion to Romeo causes Balthasar to defy instructions from his “master” to leave him, and instead Balthasar secretly and helplessly watches the tragedy occur. 

For an imaginary Lestat to make a pithy comparison between Armand and such a minor character, Louis would have to be extremely familiar with Romeo and Juliet. That could simply be because it was a play that he was dragged along to numerous times by Lestat, or it may indicate that Louis does have a secret fondness for the classics underneath his counter cultural pretensions.

Y/N design that I never used

Basically my Y/N idea was having a character that changes siluette every panel/escene, doesn't look the same twice. The thing was that it was going to have so many body and hair variations that I would end up "accidentally" drawing real life people (you) in at least one panel (It could have also been a fun game of pointing out in what panel Y/N looked more like your real self). Sadly I didn't know how to make this work while staying motivated to draw/write.

This guy was going to be originaly the mc in the forest elves AU but I couldn't visualize anything with it in the story. I ended up inserting myself as a placeholder that became the design and personality of the character.

I tried using it for the BIOmáquina AU but the same happened. I couldn't come up with a way of comfortably writing a readerinsert story. If the character is too bland I get blocked, I don't know how to make a character without a face for the readers without making it boring and If I give it a face and traits to make it more enjoyable to write/read it becomes basically an OC.

I don't know maybe I'm overthinking.

The thing is that I've come back to it because maaaaaaayybeeeee I finally had an idea to use it in something that I've been thinking of making an official thing... And again, Y/N didn't work for me.

BUT I HAD A WAY BETTER IDEA FOR READER INSERTIONS that I'm not sure if it would actually work because I need the readers to collaborate with me for this but IT WOULD BE SO COOL IF IT WORKED.

I'm probably not revealing this idea 'till I feel confident with the work done (or a year has passed)

Third times the charm! I did another redraw of one of my old favorite illustrations featuring characters I made in high school (maybe I'll revamp them some day)

The first drawing was done in i believe either 2015 or 2016? I've since lost the original file, I only have any evidence of it now because I thankfully saved it to my canvas as reference when I redrew it New Year's day 2022. I put off doing another redraw because I felt super satisfied with it, but got the itch to try again right before New Year's 2025 so it felt apt lol

RAMBLE ALERT BC IM HAVIBG FEELINGS

I don’t know if this is a me thing or what, but the First Fandom experience for me was CRAZY/pos. Like!!! Discovering that other people also liked this show that I cared so so so much about!!! To a lonely anxious middle schooler, that shit was fucking life changing!!!

I was SO obsessed with Varian from tangled the series, and just the show in general, and I was also SO self conscious about it because it’s a kids show, but being able to see other people care about it as much as me brought me so much joy!! It was basically all I thought about, literally whenever I could. My notebooks were full of tangled the series doodles! Drawing fanart was what got me into drawing!! Tumblr helped me accept that I’m queer! The entire trajectory of my life changed because of that show and that fandom! It made me happy when I was anxious all the time, it helped me become a more open minded person, and accept myself and learn what I wanted to do with my life!! It’s so silly, but wanting to read angsty fanfiction about Varian literally changed my life. TTS fandom you will always be famous to me <3333

When Did Animal Crossing Villagers Stop Being Our Friends?

Originally written for Wings Newspaper December 2021, revised in August of 2024 

Animal Crossing is one of Nintendo's most successful franchises. For those unfamiliar with the series, Animal Crossing is a life sim game where the player moves into a new community,, and is tasked to make friends and plant flowers. There is quite an interesting history of games in this series with the first Animal Crossing game being released in 2001, Animal Forest, and the newest game released in 2020, Animal Crossing New Horizons. New Horizons is a brilliant expansion onto the series, but as the landscape of the video game industry has changed since 2001 not all aspects of the game have been able to keep up with players expectations.

One of the main criticisms of the game is the villagers' lack of character and connection to the player. Many players feel that the role of the villagers has been belittled, from complex friendships with players to repetitive dialogue and pantomimes of catching bugs or fishing. In past games, it would take time to befriend the villagers, if you overstepped a boundary or disappointed them they could yell at you or refuse to talk to you. Yet as of the newest game the villagers have extremely two-dimensional personalities often repeating the same lines of dialogue and offering little to nothing to the player in exchange for their participation. Yet what these critics and players seem to neglect is the shift in the games dynamic as a whole. 

New Horizons gives the player more control of their land than ever before, with terraforming they can literally move mountains. The goal of the game has shifted from making friends to make your island look good. As this shift happened the villagers became less and less important to the gameplay and more like decorations for islands, mere objects to sit on our pathways and give us laundry machines for no reason. This transition to focus on customization has been happening since the release of Animal Crossing Wild World in 2005, but now in New Horizons this shift is at the expense of the villagers; it has become a major drawback to the whole game. Although Nintendo has tried to amend this issue through adding more villager interactions in updates the villagers lack the personality they has in previous games.

i can't have tiktok not exactly because i think it's an annoying place the problem is i'd purposefully train the algorithm to show me stupid stuff like booktok and those people who want draco malfoy to get them pregnant in dreams (idk if this is still a thing but i hope it is because i think its funny) so i could have a laugh and this would just fry my brain further. i downloaded it once to watch videos of people pretending they were in the omegaverse and i deleted the app 5 hours later knowing the plot of pretty much every yaoi abo manhwa that exists out there
