in a fair and just world tyranny has at least three sequels and i get to learn everything about the spires and the history of the tiers and kyros and the bane and the oldwalls and so on. but unfortunately we instead live in a world with one new fifa game every year.

All the IC speculating about Kyros is some of my favourite Tyranny bits. Ugh the magic system though. Finding all those bloody spells and enhancements in the Oldwalls so that you can actually meaningfully use the spell making toolset only for the game to immediately end afterwards. Not pog.

kyros is far and away my favourite execution of the Evil Overlord trope in any media i've seen. like--halfway between king and god while still being v. obviously like--a sensible iron age ruler concerned with not only conquering but keeping control of those conquests. the intentional shrouding in mystery, the implication that in the world of tyranny reputation directly gives you magical power... delicious. but yeah the fact that the game is just like. unfinished and ends before half the gameplay mechanics can matter is so lame

Tyranny has the stand alone dungeon but in reverse. The rest of the game is great, but Oldwalls is so shockingly boring that it seems like it came from a different game

Levels all fantasy games/series have

- Haunted/evil swamp

- Ruins or something similar that is the most unsettling part of the game for no reason

- Cave with crystals

- Forest with impossibly tall trees

- A volcano you can go inside/free flowing lava or magma just kind of everywhere

- Village that only has like 10 inhabitants

- Cult base with genuinely nauseating flesh/viscera piles

- Place where a wizard’s act of hubris brought great ruination

- Completely stand-alone/isolated dungeon where the storytelling is miles above the rest of the game and keeps you up at night thinking about how great it all could’ve been

- Lair of a lich or undead guy who’s supposed to be evil but is revealed to be secretly protecting the world from some grave danger

- Capital city which is only marginally bigger than the villages

- Ruins of The Ancient People filled with bizarrely futuristic tech

J'ai piqué au hasard quelques planches contact d'il y a près de quinze ans pour une fin de journée laboratoire chez @findlabbxl . Tellement bon. J'en trépignais. Seulement deux tirages ce soir là. Il m'a bien fallu retrouver mes marques et j'ai pu suivre les orientations de mon collègue qui m'a parfois vu galèrer. J'en aurai profité pour tester du 10x15 RC multigrade Ilford maturé 10 ans d'âge.
