Balance is the key element of religion to lions, as, to them, everything has an equal and opposite: the sun has the moon, the heat has the rain, and the predator has the prey. Because of the wide array of elements to the natural world, there are many deities that represent and are said to control them. The only place that does not have balance is nonexistence, as there was before Neeyr created existence, but even nonexistence itself is balanced by that of Neeyr's creation. The concept that everything in the world exists in a delicate balance drives the ideals and lifestyles of the lions, who believe themselves to be created in the image of the gods and placed in the world to maintain that equilibrium. Lions view themselves as the keepers and caretakers of the world, preventing the chaos that would come from any shift in the natural order.
But not all of the lions' stories are about gods. They also tell stories of great heroes and terrible monsters, triumphs over evil, and tales of supernatural powers. While most of these stories exist as personifications of a phenomenon or emotion, some lions believe them to hold a grain of truth, and the names of heroes will be invoked in hopes of earning their favor. Stories of gala(angels) and kiru(demons) are also told, and some are revered so highly that they may as well be gods in their own right.
List of Gods, Spirits, and Notable Monsters

Creation Myth
In the beginning, there was nothing, only an infinite emptiness, and within that emptiness, there existed a single god: Neeyr, both male and female, both light and darkness, both nothing and everything. Lonely in this vast void, Neeyr created, from parts of himself, children. From his claw, he created Votara, goddess of the day, and from her, the first light was born. From his left eye, he created Ozna, goddess of the night, and she existed in contrast to Votara's light. To bring balance to his daughters, Neeyr took a lock of his mane and transformed it into Dira, goddess of the dawn and dusk, to bridge the gap between Votara and Ozna.
But the world was still nothing, and Neeyr was bored with it. So again, he took a part of themself, several hairs from his pelt, and tossed them through the cosmos. From them, Dreyus was born, god of the sky, and with his birth, existence sprung into being. Dreyus and his three sisters travelled the cosmos together, eager to create more in their new kingdom. But soon Dreyus suffered from the same plight as Neeyr; he was lonely and desired someone to love. So he set about creating himself a mate, one equal in glory and splendor to himself. Through his efforts, Daeghom was born, and she became his bride. From the love between Dreyus and Daeghom, the world was created, with her as the land itself, and Dreyus as the sky overhead.
The first children born from Dreyus and Daeghom were Sehul, the sun, and Zurena, the moon, and they travelled around their parents' creation, watching from above. After them came Ulreus, god of the seas, who covered the world in life-giving water. Next came Drosyn, goddess of plant life, who blanketed the world in green plants. Because of their efforts, the world became ready to hold life. Dreyus and Daeghom then set about creating the creatures of the world; everything from colossal thunderers to tiny crawlers. But the newly created world was missing something; someone to watch over it. Sehul and Zurena noticed this, and proposed to their parents to create an animal in the image of the gods, one who would be their earthly heralds and keep the world in balance. Dreyus and Daeghom gave their approval, and Sehul and Zurena set about creating the first lions.
Sehul created male lions, sculpting them from rigid clay and blessing them with great strength. Zurena created lionesses, building them up from the fertile mud of the riverbanks and blessing them with fantastic speed and grace. The first lions were then instructed to watch over the land as its benevolent lords, protecting it and keeping the land in balance in the name of the gods.
The Gala and the Kiru
In the days before the world existed, the gods simply resided in the celestial plain where they ruled. Among the stars, they existed unchallenged in their divinity. But this meant that everything was unchanging, as the gods could bend their surroundings to their wills. Gradually, they grew bored; what good was creation if they had nothing to do with it? The gods thought for many years, pondering for a solution. Eventually, their endlessly brilliant minds concocted a solution. From a stream of glittering stardust, Dira crafted the first galas and named them Marsin and Aidon.    The galas' form was marvelous, for they looked as their creators did. From their backs, a vibrant pair of feathered wings grew to allow them to soar across the celestial plain. The gods were amazed by Dira's creation, and each desired to create for themselves. From the work of the gods, countless gala were born into the celestial plain. The gala served the gods as one would care for an ailing loved one, endlessly praising the gods and loving them more than anything else in creation, becoming their first subjects. The gods adored the gala, loving them as they would their own children.    But trouble soon began to arise in the celestial plain. With the creation of the world, the gods began adding to it. Marsin could only watch, as he did not have the ability of creation himself, something that made him terribly bitter and envious of the gods. Angered at this perceived slight, Marsin gathered a following of fellow gala, manipulating them into believing that they could take the power of creation from the gods and use it as their own, then they could be the ones to create such splendor and grace. Most turned away from Marsin's message, not wishing to betray their beloved creators, but many others did not. With his followers, Marsin rebelled violently against the gods, attempting to slay them and take their great power for his own. A great battle was fought between the gods and Marsin, but after much chaos and destruction, Marsin's forces were defeated by the faithful gala, led by Aidon. In rage at Marsin's ungratefulness and treason, the gods stripped the rogue gala of both their divinity and their powers, banishing them from the celestial plain, never to be able to return.    Enraged by his defeat, Marsin vowed revenge on the gods. In the absence of his divine power, Marsin became filled with darkness and hate. He and his followers became the first kiru, evil creatures of the shadows and eternal enemy of the gala. The kiru rallied under Marsin, rejecting their divine forms for those of horrible shades. Unable to reenter the realm of the gods, the kiru took to tormenting their creations. Lurking in the darkest shadows, they bring famine, war, murder, and all terrible things that can happen in the world. But they are countered by the gala, who bestow blessings and perform miracles. The gala and kiru still battle for control over the world, keeping the balance between good and evil. While mortal lions are usually unable to see them, the gala and kiru can reveal themselves to them. It is through their interactions with mortals that both possessions by kiru and prophecies delivered by gala come to be.
Creation of the Seasons
In the early days of the world, there existed only one season, a constant period of lush greenery and plentiful food and water. There was no worry of waterholes drying up or food becoming scarce, as animals had no need to eat yet. All life thrived in this paradise. In the glory of the world, Ulreus and Drosyn bore two children, Ulbus and Bixtris. Ulbus was like his parents, spreading prosperity wherever he went, but Bixtris seemed unable to do the same. The young goddess caused plants around her to wither, and caused illness in the creatures that she drew close to. Believing herself to be cursed, Bixtris was angry that she could not spread the same joy as her family. In her anger, she decided that if she could not do good unto the world, she would instead oppose her family's benevolence.
Bixtris spread dry grasslands far and wide, drying out sources of water and bringing horrible heat waves with her as she went. Ulbus noticed his sister's deeds, and combatted her with heavy rains that would return life to the barren stretches that she would leave in her wake. Bringing themselves in opposition to the other, the two siblings began to fight, causing great destruction across the land. Seeing the damage done by the two siblings, Daeghom was angered and hurt. The primordial goddess rose in a rage, ordering that the two siblings form a compromise and put aside their differences.
Ulbus was at first unwilling, angry at the ruin Bixtris had caused, but eventually he was swayed. The two siblings agreed to split the year in half, with each sibling alotted time to reign over the earth. When Ulbus rules, the rains sweep across the lands and life is plentiful, but when Bixtris rules, the world is dry and barren, with great heat ruling over the land. When the time comes for the ruling sibling to step down, the other takes their place and reigns over the land for their half of the year, the other taking residence with Daeghom beneath the earth.
The Three Afterlives
When the creatures of the earth were first created, death did not exist. Every creature was eternal in their place in the world, and they never grew old nor died. But a problem arose when the world grew to have too many animals. With countless creatures who would never die, populations grew so large that the very earth itself was having trouble sustaining them. Dreyus and Daeghom agreed that something had to be done, or everything in their creation would be at risk. Ozna, Votara, and Dira met to discuss how best to solve the problem. The three goddesses spent many days trying to find a solution, until Ozna finally suggested something that could work. The problem was all creatures being eternal, as immortal and ageless as the gods. If they were stripped of that ability and allowed to fade away, the animal population would be stabilized; the old and weak would die and the young and strong would take their place. The three goddesses agreed on the idea, and used their powers to create Somnum, the gala of death, who would come to guide the souls of dead creatures to the afterlife.    But the problem began once the first creature died. No animal had ever died before, and none of the gods could decide what should be done with them. The three sister goddesses fought over which of them would take the soul of the deceased, as each desired to be the one to rule over the dead. As more creatures died, the goddesses were increasingly confused over which of them should be granted control of the dead. Many creatures with many different lives entered the domain of the dead, but the three could not decide what to do with them. As the problem grew worse, the three godesses went to Neeyr to ask what should be done.
Neeyr observed the souls of the deceased creatures, dividing them into three groups; the righteous, the wicked, and the innocent. To Votara, went the wicked. She would punish them with her fiery rage for their misdeeds for all time. To Dira, went the innocent. As they were too young when they died to be understood as good or evil, they were gifted to the kind Dira, who would protect them and care for them. And to Ozna, went the righteous. As creatures who lived noble lives and acted as they should, they were rewarded greatly. Under the control of Ozna, the righteous souls were transformed into the first stars, always shining overhead as a reminder to all to act justly and treat everything with respect.
Times of Day
Once the three afterlives were established, Votara, Dira, and Ozna drew closer to the world to watch over its creatures. Under each of the three sisters, the sky was different. Under Votara, the sky was bright and blue, and there was light across the land. Under Ozna, the sky was dark and speckled with stars. And under Dira, the sky was painted with a thousand colors, eternally at dawn or dusk.
But problems arose when the three goddesses clashed with Sehul and Zerena. Ozna refused to allow Sehul to pass over her part of the world, as his radiant light blinded her eyes. Similarly, Votara refused to grant Zerena passage over her part of the sky, worried that she would block out her light. In the parts of the world under eternal daylight, animals could not sleep, and under the eternal night, plants could not grow.
The animals cried out their grievances to the goddesses, and the three converged with Sehul and Zerena to find a solution. Since both Votara and Sehul were radiant and bright, they agreed to cross the sky together. Zerena and Ozna also agreed to travel together, as Zerena's gentle light did not harm Ozna's eyes. Dira bridged the gap between the two realms, ushering one out and the other in.
The three realms began to spin around the world, with Votara and Sehul appearing during the day, and Ozna and Zerena appearing at night. When the day grows weary, Dira brings the dusk to allow Votara to rest. Similarly, when it is time for Ozna to rest, Dira guides the first light of dawn over the land.
Phases of the Moon
While travelling across the sky at night, Zerena is responsible for watching over the nocturnal activities of the creatures below. One night, as she passed over a vast and lush grassland, something caught her eye. Below, there was a lioness, travelling alone across the savanna. She was so beautiful that Zurena was smitten with her right away. The entire night, she watched her from above, and once the dawn drew near, she descended from the sky to meet with her in the form of a mortal lioness.
Her name was Kyagi, and Zurena was swiftly enamored by her. Kyagi was fascinated by her as well, having no idea that she was a goddess. The two of them spent the day together, but when it came time for night to come, Zurena did not wish to return to the sky. Confused, Ozna searched for her. Upon discovering her on earth, she sent Sehul to retrieve her. The sun god descended to earth in a mortal disguise and sought out his sister, ordering her to return to her place in the sky. Confused and thinking Sehul a threat, Kyagi readied herself to defend Zurena. Angered by her impudence, Sehul dropped his disguise, revealing himself in all his heavenly glory, his light blinding Kyagi.
Zurena was enraged and refused to return to the sky, demanding that Sehul heal Kyagi. Sehul instead offered a compromise. Zurena was needed in the sky as the moon, but he could see her love for Kyagi was strong. He promised to heal Kyagi as well as make her immortal on the condition that Zurena return to the sky. She would be able to descend to the earth every month for three and a half days to be with her love, but the rest of that time, she must remain in the sky as the moon. Zurena agreed, and Kyagi was healed.
Every month, Zurena shifts through various forms as her time to descend to earth grows near. She is entirely in the sky during a full moon, her paws out of the sky during a gibbous moon, half of her body during a half moon, and only her tail remains during a crescent moon. During a new moon, she is allowed to spend time on earth with her love, and the moon does not appear in the sky. Once her three and a half days on earth are up, she returns to the heavens, gradually appearing as the moon again.
The Origin of Dreams
Long ago, in a pride called the Shimmering Valley, a lion named Olo lived. Olo was a creative and imaginative lion, who loved telling stories and creating art to go along with them. From the celestial realm, Olo caught the eye of the beautiful gala Aetis, who descended from the heavens to meet with him. The two fell deeply in love, but because Aetis was a divine creature and Olo a mortal, they could not truly be together. Aetis urged his lover to come to the stars with him, and the gods would transform him into a gala so that the two of them could be together for eternity. But Olo did not want to leave his family or the world before his time, though he still wished to be with his love.
Using his divine power, Aetis created the first thoughts, which he sent into the mind of his beloved Olo, so that the two would never truly be apart. Throughout Olo's life, other animals gained the gift of thought as well, and loved Olo as the one who had brought that gift to them. When the day came that Somnum came for Olo, Aetis was there to greet him in the stars. For the first time, the two were able to properly embrace and feel the other's love. Aetis kept his vow and Olo was ascended into a gala alongside his lover.
Together, the two act as guides for all creatures. Aetis guides their minds during the day, motivating noble actions into being. Olo, on the other hand, guides them in the night, through dreams of grandeur.
The Eclipse
With the sun in the sky during the day and the moon in the sky at night, the two don't often interact. But as the two gods both watch over the creatures of earth as they pass through the sky, their knowledge of all creatures' nature is all-encompassing and complete. They know everything about every creature, including their sins and misdeeds. While it is not often that an animal that is wicked enough to draw both of their attention exists, but when one does, something incredible happens.
When a truly wicked and evil creature lives on earth, both Sehul and Zurena agree that the animal must be done away with to prevent any more pain from being caused. The two will then converge in the sky, meeting together to discuss what should be done to smite the evil in the land. When they meet, Sehul's light clashes with Zurena's darkness, forming a bright ring in the sky and shrouding the world in shadows. The eclipse is meant to act as a warning to the wicked that, if they don't mend their ways, the gods will rain their fury upon them and drag them to Votara personally, where their evil will be punished forever.
The Prince of Flowers
Xolotini was the youngest son of a great king, who ruled over a massive kingdom that spanned over a huge and lush grassland. As the youngest of the king's 15 sons, Xolotini was never in line for the throne, but the prince was fine with this, preferring to focus on the beauty of the natural world and creating wonderful works of art that would honor nature properly. Now, the young prince was extremely handsome, and stories of his good looks spread far and wide. Lions and lionesses alike came flocking to Xolotini's pride to ask for his paw in marriage. But Xolotini desired none of them, having only one lioness that he loved. She was Parvotl, daughter of a tyrannical king. But the tyrant king refused to give her up, never wanting her to marry.
The prince pined for her from afar, and the two met under the cover of night in secret. Parvotl, wanting to be free from the hold of her father, fled her pride for that of Xolotini's father. This enraged the evil king, and he sent a terrible sandstorm to punish his daughter and the lion who stole her away from him. Knowing what must be done, Parvotl attacked her father, striking the tyrant king down. But she was terribly wounded in the process, and as she lay dying, Xolotini wept for her. He cried his pain out to the world, praying to Drosyn not to let Parvotl fade away. The goddess answered his prayers, transforming the dying Parvotl into the first flowers. Her graceful form became long, slender stems, and her fur became the soft petals. Upon Xolotini, Drosyn placed the task of spreading Parvotl's beauty far and wide. He would wander all the lands of the world, spreading the flowers in his wake so that the whole world would know of Parvotl's sacrifice. Her beauty and grace would live on forever in this form, and she would grace the world until the land itself was no more.
The Hero Elbris
Long ago, alongside the creatures of the world, there lived monsters. Some of the monsters followed the command of the gods, acting as powerful allies and friends, but others were evil to their cores. One such monster was the Desert King, a massive firebreathing creature that had been created by Bixtris. The Desert King was taller than any other creature in the land, standing taller than ten thunderers. He looked like a lion in form, but his fur was dark as soot and his seven eyes redder than blood. He had the tusks of a squealer, the horns of a grunter, and a venomous no-legs for a tail. His fangs were larger than any gnasher's and his claws sharper than any leaper's, and he used them to consume the life of any animal in his domain. The terrible creature lived in the Great Northern Desert, where no water or plants existed, and even the gods could hold little power over him. In his greed, he spread his barren kingdom far and wide.
The creatures of the world greatly feared the Desert King, as any caught in his domain would surely meet their death. As the desert spread into the grasslands, the animals were horrified, and many fled south to escape the King's grasp. In the Desert King's hunger to conquer, he spread his arid lands into the home of a lion pride. Like all other creatures in the Desert King's lands, they met their end. All except for one. A single lion called Elbris escaped the death of his pride, and swore revenge on the Desert King, promising to defeat him and avenge his family. Elbris went to the Reflection Pool, a place sacred to Zurena, and called upon the gods for help. The gods heard his call and descended to earth, each bestowing a gift upon Elbris that would aid him in his quest against the Desert King. From Zurena, he received a cloak of darkness, which would allow him to sneak into the King's territory undetected. From Ozna, his eyes were blessed to be able to see the Desert King's weak spot. Votara bestowed her blessing upon his claws, making them capable of killing the monster. And from Drosyn and Ulreus, he was given a magical fruit containing a powerful rainstorm, which he must break open after the King was defeated. With the blessing of the gods, Elbris set out to challenge the Desert King.
The monster was colossal, but Elbris's blessed eyes could see his weak spot: the large eye in the center of his forehead. While the Desert King could not see Elbris because of Zurena's cloak, he could sense him, and he spoke. In a great and terrible voice, the Desert King offered Elbris to join him, and he would be spared when the desert consumed the entire world. But Elbris was not swayed by the cruel monster's words; he would avenge his family, and all other animals that had been consumed by the Desert King's greed. When he saw he could not win over Elbris, the Desert King attacked, swiping at the air and trying to crush him. Because he could not see Elbris, the Desert King listened for the sounds of his voice and footsteps. Elbris was smart, however, and knew the King could hear him. Taunting the huge monster, Elbris whipped the Desert King into a frenzied rage, making its movements erratic and unplanned. Infuriated, the Desert King roared, demanding that Elbris reveal himself and fight him properly.
Elbris was not foolish however, and, using his blessed claws, leapt for the monster's seventh eye. With Voltara's magic, his claws burst into flames as he landed a blow on the monster's forehead. Upon hitting the monster's weak spot, its body split into four pieces. From each of these, a new spirit was born. Bouros was born from the first piece, and represented the cold northern wind. Enthos was born from the second, and represented the gentle west wind that brought the wet season. From the third came Dirlos, who represented the warm south wind. And from the fourth and final piece, Synir was born. Synir still held the powers granted to the Desert King by Bixtris and represented the east wind, which heralded the coming of the dry season.
Elbris then cracked open the magical fruit granted to him by Drosyn and Ulreus, and from it erupted a powerful rainstorm. The water that fell from the blessed clouds had magical properties, and where it touched the barren ground, grass greener than any other sprouted from the sand. Massive patches of land that once fell under the Desert King's control became lush grasslands, and animals returned. Grateful for Elbris's help in defeating the Desert King, the gods granted him a single wish. Elbris wished to be reunited with his family, and the gods carried him up to the stars, where his family and friends awaited him. Together, they can be seen as a cluster of stars in the sky, named the Elbris Cluster after the great hero.
The animals of the land praised Elbris's heroic actions for many years, and told stories of him to their children, who then told the story to their own children. Animals experiencing extreme hardships will often invoke the name of Elbris in hopes of being able to prevail over their troubles, as Elbris did over the Desert King.
Twilight of the World
There will come a day one day when the balances of the universe are tipped to an extreme from which there is no return. The first sign of the Twilight is a great roar heard from the sky; it is Neeyr's dying breath, and he will return from the nothingness from which he came. From there, the kiru will rise from the shadows to continue their battle against the gods, and they cause all the plants in the world to die and all water to dry up as they destroy Ulreus and Drosyn. The kiru and gala will meet in battle on the earth, and their great power will rend the land and create mountains that reach all the way to the heavens. When this happens, Sehul and Zurena descend to earth to escort all of the animals away from danger and to the safety of the three goddesses above, but are lost to the kiru in the process.
With the animals off of earth and safe, Ozna and Dira ascend to another plain of existence while Votara stays to fight. Eventually, all of the gods fall, and all of the kiru and gala as well, except for one of each. Marsin is the final kiru, and he desires to make himself the god of all existence. The final gala is Aidon, and, with the power of all the fallen, he will defeat Marsin and cast him into the infinite void, where he will be trapped forever.
As the last creature in existence, Aidon absorbs all the power in creation and becomes the sole god of the new world. From there, he will rebuild creation and create an eternal paradise free of suffering and evil.

Tara's Book Part 2: Journey to Watch World
Tara stepped off the trolley watching the throngs of people and smirking at college students making their way to the ground. A live band played in the balcony and the multicolored hues of threads were shining brightly in the air. The music of revelry soothed Nadroj as his eyes sleepily opened and he batted at faint strings only she could see. Her shadow formed mustangs and throughbreds behind her. A mirage for the onlookers too gone to notice or care. She was about the business of stopping an ongoing end. The Plaza de Armas glowed in the streamed lights and faint torch lamps and a bracelet with a winged shoe hung from Tara's wrist. Nadroj hazel eyes darted about listening to the plethora of voices and accents in various states of intoxication. The spire atop the building was a brightly wound knot of silver and prismatic cords each with it's own rhythym. Four kids danced a second line in front of hats and older hispanic man played guitar keeping up with the dizzying mix of Casanova and modern bounce music hits as the city came to life. Tara rubbed the charm with her pinky and the scene slowed like molasses on a winter morning, and a web of motion came into being around her feet. The trolleys with their horses lent her a green thread and the whinnying of that familar steed sprang into being under her and Nadroj. The twisting cuurent of braiding and unbraiding knots danced from step and in a square as the children danced. The curve wound between two lovers locked in an embrace, and a group of several acrobats performing a complicated routine. As the lead acrobats foot left the ground a network of squares fromed a column. Tar threw Nadroj and he grabbed at the rungs hanging by one arm laughing. Tara laughed scooping him into her arms and ran into a tunnel of light. The winding squres moved like a snake squares nesting inside squares each step an intricate dance as worlds moved and faded in around her. Tara grabbed her bracelet llowing one black square to hook around the opposite hand as Nadroj hung in the air for a single moment. She spun midair catching Nadroj and found herself on the coast of an endless sea.
Nine moons hung in the air above her head each in a different phase. Their faces forming a perfect circle. There was life in the water and Tara sought help of a unique variety. She touched a blue thread and began to sing. "Numer an rio Rixan Nomer Numer Ceano Congo Olo Kun Numer" The water shined under the light of each of the apinning moons turning gold as if coins were rolling beneath the surface. "Change and charge payment for the master of the beastly sea. " The water walked first hand then foot crawling from the shore line. A baying howl shook through the shining night. Two hears and a snout pulling the arm of a being with tendrils of water covering missing eyes. Selaqua the Beastmaster of The Seahobbled out of the shining night foam. The gold of the foam forming armor over her shoulder like pauldrons. A gladius of water floated in her wake as her and Tara stood face to face.
The hounds formed ice teeth and growled circling Tara as she and Selaqua Conversed through the winding blue strings. Selaquas's hounds became more solid and the sky turned rom gold to red. Nadroj stared up in wonder. The sun began to shine between a cirlce of moons and a beam struck the diamond sand. Tara nodded solemnly understanding how she would have to return for the work she had asked. Blue thread sank into Taras skin and an spiral of blue glowed as Selaqua and the hound climbed in adding a chain of sigils under charm bracelet. The sky went black and the sea touched her feet still. The Hour of the moon was at hand.

may we hear more about your dnd kids Blz
okay anon, just remember: you asked for this
so, a little context. Aldin and Cal are from a, now sadly defunct, Legend of Zelda homebrew campaign a gang of my friends and I were playing (defunct owing to a change in DMs and then schedules falling apart). this campaign was set circa Age of Calamity, during the warmup to shit actually hitting the fan.
we, of course, completely derailed that plot, but I'm putting the cart before the horse.
the party is as follows:
my girl Aldin, a Gerudo sorcerer and molduga huntress from the deep desert, the resident powerhouse
Na'ila, Gerudo bard and emissary of the Spirit Temple, an absolute sweetheart
Olo, our Zora rogue, a charming but impulsive flirt
Ciel, a Korok fairy scion (homebrewed class, effectively a warlock of a great fairy) and the party's baby
and Broth, Goron cleric of Din, Team Dad and resident pacifist
now, we'd spent the first three sessions basically just dicking around Central Hyrule, participating in a horse race (we came in third), generally having a fabulous time of things and getting a handle on dnd, because most of us were newer players.
and then the fourth session happens. and one of the players (Ciel's) is guest DM'ing to give our main DM a break to plan some stuff. so we started that day at a stable, and wound up agreeing to assist a Sheikah Guardian technician (Landy) in getting down to a Zonai temple in Faron—she got a letter from her brother, who was on an archaeological dig there, requesting her help with an artifact he'd found. we of course agreed, because the party is largely composed of good-hearted altruists, and set off for Faron.
and we get down there, and the stable nearest the temple (Highland Stable) has been torched, and everyone in it killed, and the lizalfos looting the burned-out shell claim that the thing that did it came from the ruin half a day's travel from there.
aka the ruin we're going to.
so we get there, and the place is trashed and most of the people in the party Landy's brother was with are redeads so we have to put them down, and the sole survivor—Landy's brother, Cal—is down in the lower level of this temple with a couple of corpses, obviously having a terrible time of things and clutching a bone, which he claimed to have used to fend them off long enough to get down there and shut the door, locking himself in.
so we tell him to head back up while we figure out what the hell we're doing, and then one of the bodies down there reanimates as a redead and its screaming knocks out half the party, so
I need you to picture this:
Aldin, the strongest member of the party, scoops up Landy and Na'ila, slings one over each shoulder, and makes her way for the staircase while Broth and Olo deal with the redead. she enters the staircase, turns, and looks up, and Cal is busy whaling on Landy's little Guardian scout, Tipsy, with the bone. we very rapidly put two and two together—Cal is responsible for the whole mess, and we need to stop him, or we're done for.
now, by this point Aldin had an established pattern—she hits first, and she hits like a godhammer, and anything that survives that first blow had better put her down fast because it won't survive a second one.
and she refused to lay a hand on Cal. she terrified him into dropping the bone and we knocked him out and broke the damn thing instead.
as it turns out, the bone was cursed and Cal was under a compulsion to kill people, revive some of them as redeads, and...uh, commit some light cannibalism. and even though he's now freed from that, he's hearing a voice in his head from something calling itself "the First", which recognizes Aldin—because she had an encounter with something in a tomb out in the deep desert as a teenager. something that left a mark on her, in much the same way as Cal is now marked.
anyway, a dozen sessions later the truth comes out: Cal is a former Yiga blademaster on the run from the organization, trying to get to the bone before they could. Aldin is a vessel for the power of the Calamity itself, chosen to kill Link and Zelda before they can prevent its coming.
as to character dynamics:
Cal hates himself. he blames himself for not being able to resist the compulsion, he hates himself for killing his companions and putting Landy in danger, he's lost nearly everything—and is willing to risk what little he has left for Aldin, who is the only person who understands what he's been through and has been there to support him the entire way. Aldin loves him back fiercely, and is determined to give him the shelter she needed and didn't get after her Incident—even if that means fighting a god with her bare hands. they're like, peak mutual "not to me, not if it's you" energy, they're wildly in love, they snark at shit and cause problems together and Aldin flirts with Cal outrageously just to fluster him, and if they don't manage to destroy the world they might just be able to save it.
anyway, the campaign might be defunct but I'm stealing the ship and the core of the plot and attempting to file the serial numbers off and write something original with it, and in the meantime I'm subjecting all of you to art. and maybe fic excerpts if anyone's interested.

Sleepover time 🛌 ❤️
———
He spots you from across the cantina, drawn in by your thick black locks, his breath catching as he sees you smile at a passing bountyhunter and his breath catches.
Toro Calican wants your attention.
Weaving his way through patrons of varying states of inebriation he waved attention to the tending droid, sliding a handful of credits with a jerk of his head towards you.
‘Who’s she?’ His body trembled with excitement. Another step closer.
‘Rea of Olo. She graces us with her vocal talents when both suns have set. I have not been informed of any other data. Shall I prepare drink for you patron?’
Toro clicked his teeth together in annoyance. Droids. He looked to the small stage where musicians began to settle, ready to perform. He looked back to her, his eyes gazing upon her form, her beautiful hands clasping around her drinking vessel and oh how he wished for them to be touching him.
This was his chance.
He swung around towards the other side of the cantina and approached you, striding forwards with bounce in his step, his eagerness burning through his body. Her eyes rose to meet his, full of amusement, her full lush lips twitching as she tilted her head awaiting him to speak.
‘What’s a goddess like you doing in a cantina like this?’
(Hahaha please don’t hate me for this 😂)
PLEASE I HAVE DECEASED

Summary
- Sunday, 14th Abadius in the year 815 (Second Era). Early Spring.
- The party begin this session, in the early afternoon, exploring the ruined mountain palace of the gang that kidnapped the Sheik’s daughter.
- Having dispatched a group of Were creatures last session the party continue their search of the rooms and the bodies. Labarett, Naillae, Ignaaz and Seanicus searched the stone walls of the rooms. One of the walls is cool and moist and after Gim looks it over declares there must be running water located just behind it (Successful Stone Cunning Check).
- Oloma searches through the bookcase and writing table and locates a quantity of books on military history and tactics, which Sir Lee takes for some light reading. Sir Krondor locates a hidden pile of letters under a bed mattress. The letters are written in the Afrandul script and Seanicus has to take some time to perform the Ritual of Comprehend Languages to read the letters, which are obviously written by the male occupant of the room.
- Sir Lee decides that whilst the Ritual is being performed that Naillae should go out the window and climb over to the second window to have a look what lies within. Sir Lee ties a rope around Naillae and Ignaaz use his Cittern to enchant Naillae with a Levitate spell. She climbs out the window, looking down into the deep chasm. The rocky stone walls have little handholds and without the aid of the Levitate spell it would be very difficult to safely climb the distance to the second window. Naillae pushes herself across the rock, her weight no longer a problem thanks to the spell upon her, and reaches the window.
- She carefully peers inside the window, which is closed. She sees a rectangular room furnished with rich carpets, cupboards, a desk, a chest, paintings and a large full length mirror. A single door is the only apparent entry to the room and it is closed. A large male, powerfully built and with long dark hair, has a simple grey kilt wrapped around him as he sits at the desk writing. On the bed lays a naked female apparently resting. The female is stunning and her beauty beyond compare. Naillae smiles as she deduces from the sweat on female’s flawless skin, her dishevelled hair, content expression and the state of the bed sheets that she and the man have just finished making love.
- Naillae makes her way back to the party and tells them what she saw.
- Sir Krondor quickly rushes over to the window and looks across at the other window.
- “What are you doing?” asked Oloma.
- “I was just looking how hard it would be for me to get to the window and have a look, to assess the tactical situation and lay of the room.” replies Sir Krondor.
- “Yeah, assess the layout of the room. I’m sure that’s what you want to see,” sneers Oloma.
- Seanicus has finished his ritual and has read the letters. The party learn the male. Greznaz, was the Pack Enforcer and his duty was to enforce the law and rule of the group and punish those of the Pack that threatened it. The many letters were between Graznaz and a female partner that he obviously still cared much for and detailed small talk about each of their lives that were now forced to be apart.
- Ignaaz speaks, “This doesn’t make any sense. The more we learn about these people the less they seem like bandits or even bad people. Are we doing the right thing?”
- No one answers the Bard. Oloma pulls out a personal diary of Greznaz from the writing desk and gets Seanicus to read it out. The diary details the day to day going on of the group and Grenznaz’s personal thoughts on matters. Going back a few months to when the Princess was taken the party read Greznaz diary to learn that the Princess come to the hide away willingly as she was in love with one of the members, someone called Daood who was a Werebat.
- Sir Krondor exclaims, “I knew it! I told ya she was probably some love lost lass who came here by her own hand.”
- “The book could be wrong. It could be a lie,” adds Naillae without much conviction.
- Seanicus nods and continues to read out the diary. The party learn that a week after the Princess arrived the Sheik sent his soldiers to retrieve her but they failed and were killed. At first she was happy and took part of some type of ritual but then as time went on, after a few months, she changed her mind and wanted to leave. She attempted to flee back to Mahik three times but was caught each time. After the last time she was placed into the cells. Grenznaz remarks that she will have to learn to accept making the sacrifice before she can be released again.
- The party are somewhat confused as they do not know what the ritual or sacrifice might be.
- Oloma speaks, “Perhaps she took part in the first part of some dark ritual that these Were creatures conducted but refused to complete the ritual by killing something in a sacrifice?”
- Everyone looks around somewhat unsure and then they decide to leave the matter for now and continue to explore the ruins.
- The party make their way out of these rooms and follow the corridor around to a set of long vertical alcoves. Light comes from the other side of the alcoves and when the party look through they can see that they are looking through a pair of “murder holes” that look into a large and guarded throne room that is on two levels, an upper throne area and a lower entry hall. There is another closed door on the far side of the throne room and a section of the room is hidden behind a red curtain. Two guards are visible on the upper level and they stand next to a large pile of cannon ball sized boulders.
- Next to each murder hole is a quantity of javelins and spears. The two guards that Sir Lee and Sir Krondor killed previously had come from these alcoves and must have been guarding the throne room.
- The party proceed on and see that there is a solid looking wooden door that leads into the throne room and also a set of stairs that leads up to a small corridor that has a single elaborate wooden door and a stone water basin that has water pouring into it. There are multicoloured fish swimming in the water basin. The source of the water that Gim spoke of before.
- After some discussion the party decide to head up the stairs to the door that they believe leads to the room that Naillae saw through the window. Seanicus summons his Shadow Hound to remain behind in the throne room and watch one of the guards there. Initially Sir Krondor and Gim decide to remain behind in the hidden alcoves and keep watch on the throne room but change their mind after Sir Lee implores them to stay with the party. Sir Krondor takes some of the spears and wedges them into the wood of the door leading into the throne room as to stop or at least slow down any possible foes trying to open the door.
- The party move into position to breach the door into the room in the level above, after the door was declared free of any traps and the locked picked by Naillae. They look around at each other, silently indicating who should open the door and how they should proceed in.
- As the frantic and silent hand gestures are going on, without any conclusion, Sir Krondor leans toward the door and knocks loudly three times. Everyone in the party turns an alarmed expression towards the Dwarf.
- After a few seconds, a female voice calls out, “Come in Meidahl.”
- Naillae, standing to the side of the doorway, swings the door open. The two Dwarf cousins, Sir Krondor and Gim in the front rank at the open door way both look inside to see the well furnished room and the beautiful dark skinned female laying upon the bed with the bed sheets pulled loosely over her, exposing the top half of the ample breasts.
- When the female sees who is at the doorway, her expressions changes to one of surprise and she pulls the sheet to her neck and exclaims, “Who are you? What is the meaning of this intrusion?”
- Sir Lee, standing behind the Dwarf cousins, answers in a loud voice, “We are here to rescue Princess Poshaqa from you vile monsters! Where is she?”
- The dark skin female sits up and snaps, “That dam girl! She has been nothing but trouble! She is in the cells where she belongs! And now you will regret this intrusion!”
- The sound of a chair being pushed back roughly comes from the corner of the room where the large muscular man was seated at the writing desk.
- Gim, hearing the sound runs into the room shouting, “Talking time is over!” He raises up the enchanted javelin and when he sees the large dark skin male in the grey kilt races directly toward him, lunging forward with his javelin.
- Ignaaz and Oloma see the gap in the doorway left behind by Gim moving forward and they both quickly move forward. Ignaaz enters the room and moves to the side, firing spells blindly which only manage to hit the far stone wall, and Oloma leans into the room from the doorway and sends forth a powerful blast of psionic talent at the female upon the bed. The blast hits and causes her to flinch in pain.
- The female grabs something from under a pillow and stands up on the bed, the bed sheet falling to her feet to expose her naked and magnificent body. In her hand is a blue crystal wand. Suddenly her skin starts to tear and rip open as brown fur starts to appear around her body. Her face contorts and grows long with a snout. Now standing on the bed before the party is a Jackalwere. The snout of the creature contorts into a smile as she looks around the party and her eyes stop on Oloma. The Jackalwere points the wand at Oloma and speaks in a low, guttural voice, “You! I command you to change and attack your companions!”
- Oloma feels the wound from the previous attack were the two headed Werewolf bite her burst forth in agonising heat. She bends over and screams, sweat pouring over her face, as a pain and heat so intense it feels like it is consuming her body. Oloma, feeling herself burning up, starts to madly throw off her clothing and gear. The party watch in horror as her now exposed skin starts to buckle and break as dark fur begins to shoot out and the form and shape of her body changes to a long, lean and muscular creature. She bends upright exposing her head to the party but the face of Oloma is gone and in its place is a long snout and ears of a wolf. The eyes are red and fierce with the look of hunger and hatred towards the party.
- Naillae looks at the creature that was once Oloma and starts to back away, “Oloma? It’s us. Your friends. You don’t have to do …” but before she can finish her sentence Oloma the Werewolf lunges forward with her jaws open wide exposing razor sharp teeth.
- Sir Krondor quickly raises his shield and stops the attack, the beasts jaw hitting into his shield and just missing Naillae who is backing away with fear in her eyes.
Tumblr media
- Ignaaz yells out, “The wand! We have to destroy the wand to free Oloma!”
- Gim shouts back, “We’ve got bigger problems!”
- Sir Krondor and Ignaaz look at the other side of the room and can see that Gim is now standing in front of a large monstrous creature. The large muscular man in a kilt has gone and in his place, has transformed a Werewolf of unbelievable size, a Primal Alpha Werewolf. The beast stands ten foot tall, the large head scraps the ceiling of the room. The skin of the beast, is covered in a hard hide, bones spikes protrude over the body and head, and the arms of the beast are wider than Gim’s torso. The small figure of Gim standing in front of the creature looks like a child’s toy compared to it.
- The rest of the party start to move forward. Labarett races up the stairs, past Oloma the Werewolf who strikes him with a clawed hand as he goes past, and races into the room directly towards the Jackalwere, as the Barbarian has not yet seen the threat of the Primal Werewolf in the corner. The Barbarian, now in a seething Rage, swings his enchanted battle axe towards the Jackalwere and strikes into her hard.
- The Jackalwere turns her gaze towards Labarett and the eyes of the beast begin to consume the Barbarian. The room begins to sway and his anger and rage start to fade away. His breathing becomes heavy and slow and the Barabarian begins to slowly drop onto the ground, falling into a magical sleep.
- The rest of the party move up the stairs and start to attack Oloma the Werewolf. Sir Krondor strikes Oloma with the blunt end of his silver hand axe, yelling, “We need to knock Oloma out! Don’t kill her!” (Party are using non-lethal subdual damage to reduce her to unconsciousness when Hit Points reach 0 instead of death).
- As Nac races up the stairs, just out of range of Oloma the Werewolf, and fires spells into the room and at the Jackalwere. Seanicus coming behind him asking, “What did the Bard say?”
- Nac aims a spell and fires it off replying, “Something about destroying a wand.”
- Seanicus yells out into the room, “Do not destroy that wand you fools! We may need it to change her back! Kill the Jackalwere instead!”
- Without turning back, Nac says over his shoulder to Seanicus, “Impressive. How do you know that?”
- Seancius leans over Nac and fires a spell replying, “I don’t. I want that wand intact. It may be worth a fortune.”
- Nac smiles, “And if that decision results in Oloma becoming a Werewolf permanently and means we have to kill her?”
- Seanicus smiles back, “Then we will have a new Wolf rug and be the owners of an expensive wand that we will only have to split the profits between eight people, not nine.”
- Nac moves off laughing and moves into the room, using his shield to ward off the jaws of Oloma the Werewolf. When the Cleric enters the room he casts Spirit Guardians and suddenly the room is filled with white spirit forms of fiends flying around attacking the Primal Werewolf and Jackalwere.
- Gim lets loose on the Primal Werewolf and starts to jab as fast as he can into the beast, over and over, wound after wound opening up (Two Critical Hits in one round). In retaliation the huge beast strikes back at Gim, smashing into the Dwarf with a heavy force.
- Ignaaz is remaining in the corner, staying away from the Primal Werewolf and the Jackalwere and continues to cast spells at the foes.
- Sir Krondor uses his shield to keep Oloma the Werewolf at bay whilst he and Sir Lee use the blunt ends of their weapons against their former companion. With one final blow, Sir Krondor smacks the side of Oloma the Werewolve’s head and they watch the beast fall backwards and land onto the stone floor, changing back into human form. The now naked body of Oloma lays next to the doorway, her chest raising up and down slowly, the only indication that she is still alive but unconscious.
- Now the threat of Oloma has been dealt with, Sir Krondor and Sir Lee move into the room and towards the Primal Alpha Werewolf. Seanicus follows behind them and places a Hex Curse upon the Jackalwere. A dark circle, which only Seanicus can see, surrounds her momentarily and then fades out of view.
- Nac, standing next to Seanicus, looks into the room and says, “That dam Labarett! Someone needs to wake him!”
- Seanicus replies, “Leave that to me. This should wake him.” The Warlock then lifts his hand and opens his fingers towards Labarett and the Jackalwere. Two beams shoot out from his hand. One hits the Jackalwere, injuring the creature, and the other shoots towards the direction of the Labarett but instead the beam starts to bend and warp and change colour (Fumble spell). The eldritch beam hits Sir Lee in the chest, injuring the Cavalier and causing a sticky stinking black ooze to appear on the front of his armour. The stench from the ooze is terrible and fills the room with a very unpleasant smell. Sir Lee, feels slightly dizzy from the smell that is now directly under his nose, and is greatly affected (Disadvantage on all attack and ability checks until the substance is washed off).
- Nac turns towards Seanicus, “You missed. You could have just kicked him.”
- Seanicus moves into the room, rushing forward and kicks Labarett in the shoulder. The Barbarian starts to raise up. He is once again awake but his anger and Rage are finished and he can not call upon that power for the rest of the day. He stands up, picking up his battle axe, and swings it upwards towards the Jackalwere. The blade cuts into her stomach and she falls backwards as blood spurts from her body all over the bed. As she falls backwards she transforms back into human form, her now small and slender body, naked and covered in blood, rests unmoving on the bed.
- The Primal Alpha Werewolf roars in anger. Labarett looks over at the injured Primal Alpha Werewolf and sees that it is surrounded by Gim, Sir Krondor and Sir Lee. Without the protection of his Rage, the Barbarian instead moves over to the unconscious Oloma and kneels down to touch her lightly on her exposed shoulder, getting ready to cast a Cure Wounds spell but before he can do so Nac steps over with a wicked smile and touches his Necklace of Prayer Beads as he places his other hand over one exposed breast of Oloma.
- Oloma’s chest raises up sharply and her eyes flicker open. Seeing Labarett and Nac she sits up coughing, “Thank you.”
- Oloma looks down and suddenly realises that she is naked and Nac still has his hand resting on one of her breasts. Her arms move rapidly in front of her, knocking Nac’s hand aside, to cover her exposed breasts. She sits back, her legs raised up and bent in front of her to hide herself. Labarett turns his head away, his face turning red, whilst Nac stands up laughing, “That was worth it just to see the expression on your face!”
- Oloma yells “Barstard!” The ancient voice within her head speaks, <You will need to teach that one a lesson young one.>
- Inside the room the battle is raging but now the Primal Alpha Werewolf is out numbered. Sir Krondor’s silver hand axe, Sir Lee’s enchanted lance and Gim’s enchanted javelin are striking into the beast from all sides. So too is Ignaaz firing spells at the foe and Nac’s Spirit Guardians are attacking it. The beast lunges towards Gim and its jaws snap onto the arm of the Dwarf, the teeth penetrating through the armour. The bile of the Werewolf starts to mingle into the Dwarf’s blood and the heat starts to burn into Gim’s arm but the heat quickly fades as the Dwarves naturally strong constitution overcomes the Blood Curse (Successful Constitution save versus Blood Curse).
- With one final plunge, Sir Lee lunges his lance over the smaller form of Sir Krondor, who is standing in front of Sir Lee, and pushes the tip of the lance into the throat of the Primal Alpha Werewolf. With no pause or hesitation, Sir Lee pushes his full weight into the lunge and watches as the lance pushes through the throat and bursts out the other side. The creature falls to its knees as blood coughs out of his open jaws. The party watch as the body transforms back into a naked male, the head tilted to one side, with the lance of Sir Lee still stuck in the neck. Sir Lee places one armoured foot onto the chest of the large dead male, and pulls his lance out, blood covering the lower half of the lance. The dead male falls onto its side.
- The Cavalier looks at his lance, covered with blood, and his armour, covered in sticky reeking ooze, with disdain, “It’s times like this I wish I had brought my retainers with me. I’ll be outside cleaning my gear in the water basin.”
- Oloma has been quickly gathering her stuff and gear and getting dressed. When she is dressed Labarett places a hand onto her shoulder and casts a Cure Wounds spell on her as she is still wounded. She looks over at Nac, who is kneeling down performing the Prayer of Healing for the whole party, and narrows her eyes in anger, whispering under breath, “You will pay Cleric!”
- Seanicus is also kneeling down, performing the Ritual of Detect Magic and likewise Labarett is performing the Ritual Of Speak to Animals in order to talk the fish in the water basin.
- Naillae starts looking around the walls for secret doors or panels, whilst the rest of the party not otherwise engaged in tasks, search around the room. Oloma finds a series of books on Lycanthropy in the bookcase and takes them to read later. Under the writing desk are found three small hooks, two of which have a gold key handing from it, and the third hook is empty. The keys are tried on the door and it does indeed fit and turn within the keyhole.
- After a short time, all the rituals are completed. Nac’s Prayer gives some much needed healing to the party. Seanicus looks around the room with enhanced eyes and informs the party that the crystal wand is indeed magical and so too is something within the locked chest, as light is coming out from the edges of the lid.
- Labarett moves over to the fish and talks to them and does not get much information from them as they keep saying over and over they are hungry, and also not very happy with the strange black stuff in their water; from Sir Lee washing his gear in it.
- Labarett moves into the room looking for something to feed the fish. He moves over to a cupboard and opens it to indeed find a small box with fish food and also clothing hanging from a rail. Within the clothing, Labarett finds a set of very nice leather armour, tailored to fit a woman. He shows it to Gim and the ex-armourer advises the armour is finely made and of master work quality. As it is leather armour, and tailored to fit a female form, the party agree that Naillae should wear it. She takes the armour and begins to change into it.
- Labarett takes the fish food and feeds the fish in the water basin. Once they eat they are happy to talk and Labarett learns about a man dressed in black that often comes past the basin to enter the room. The fish does not like the man as he often spits into the basin and once saw the man turn into a strange creature with many legs.
-  Oloma speaks, “I bet you this man dressed in black has the third key to this door. It’s probably the person they were expecting when you knocked on the door Sir Krondor.”
- Sir Krondor nods, “Yeah, and what’s the bet this guy is a Werespider or something.”
- With the whole room searched now only the locked chest remains. Oloma and Naillae examine it for traps, with some assistance from Nac casting a Guidance spell. Naillae confirms there is a trap and exclaims when she nearly accidentally sets the trap off during her examination (was a very Failed search for traps attempt that was avoided by use of Inspiration by the party). Naillae disarms and unlocks the chest. She tells the party that the trap is a small glass cylinder that would expel a large amount of gas into the room, presumedly a poison of some type.
- The chest is opened and within is found a strange and elaborate cup and a small, roughly painted picture showing a family. There is a small girl in the picture and does resemble the now dead female laying on the bloody bed. Seanicus, still with his enhanced sight, looks at the cup and sees that it is glowing with magic.
- The party decide to remain in the room for a short rest whilst Seanicus takes the time to identify the two magic items. After some time Seanicus informs the party about the two magic items. One is a Wand Of The Moon which grants the wielder powers over those with the Blood Curse of Lycanthropy within them. The other item is the Chalice Of The Moon which is used during a ritual to enhance Lycanthropes with increased beauty, size and speed but once partaken the changes of the Blood Curse become permanent with no cure being available.
- Oloma and Seanicus have the books about Lycanthropy spread out on the writing table and are looking through them.
- Oloma speaks, “Well according to these books a Cleric can cast Remove Curse and remove the Blood Curse.” She then looks up at Nac her eyes narrowing, “But, I suppose you already knew that Cleric?”
- Nac smiles, “Yes, of course I did.”
- Oloma stands up, “And when exactly did you intend to tell me that you could cure my sickness?”
- Nac’s smile gets bigger, “When you asked me.”
- Oloma starts to move towards Nac with anger in her eyes but Seanicus puts a hand on her shoulder to stop her saying, “Wait, not so fast. Perhaps you might want to reconsider getting cured.”
- The statement, so unexpected, stops Oloma in her tracks. She turns towards Seanicus and looks at him as if he’s mad, “What? This isn’t another of your crazy ideas to study a disease again because if it is you can…”
- “No no,” interrupts Seanicus and then presses on, “I mean, this could be a blessing. You can turn into a killing machine at will and are immune to normal weapons. Think of the advantages.”
- Oloma replies, “Can I use my psionics in animal form? Or use any of my magical items?”
- Seanicus replies, “Well, no. All your gear would fall off and you couldn’t cast magic or psionics, unless, unless.”
- “Unless what?” Oloma snaps.
- Seanicus turns the pages of the book he is reading, rapidly looking for something, “Yes! I knew I had read something about this. There are rare Were creatures, that can retain the ability to cast magic in their animal form. If I could find one of those and get it to bite me, I could gain all the advantages of being a Werecreature and still use my powers.”
- Oloma walks away, “You are mad. Every full moon you will turn into a mindless killing machine! Have you thought about that?”
- Seanicus looks back into the book and waves his hand, “Minor details. Nothing that can’t be dealt with.”
- The party finish their short rest and then prepare to enter the throne room. They discuss what to do and decide to try to retrieve the small glass cylinder in the chest and throw it into the throne room but when Naillae attempts to remove it she fails and wedges it so that it is now impossible to take out. The party start to talk about trying to lift the heavy chest, out of the from, down the stairs and somehow throw it into the throne room.
- Sir Lee walks off, “I’m getting my war horse and taking it around to the other side of the throne room. I will challenge them to open the doors. You can attack from the rear. What ever you are planning to do, hurry up.”
- Sir Krondor quickly moves to catch up, “Yes, great plan Sir Lee. I’ll accompany you and mount up too.”
- Nac watches them go, “Well, now that those two idiots are gone, what is our plan of attack to enter the throne room?”
- The party spend the next ten minutes coming up with various plans on how to enter. Some want to take the chest, some don’t. Some suggest storming the throne room first, some suggest waiting for the two mounted knights storming in first. The discussion goes round in circles until eventually, as Gim is standing next to the chest he says, “Ok, so we’ve decided. Labarett and I will carry this chest to the door. We’ll have to move slowly else we might drop it. Then ….”
- A loud shout, heard from afar but reaching the party, makes Gim stop talking. The distinctive voice of Sir Lee, yelling loudly, can be heard, “Open the doors you vile creatures. I challenge you all to a fight, you cowards!”
- The party quickly leave the chest in the upper room and make their way down the stairs to the throne room door. Seanicus, his Shadow Hound still within the throne room keeping watch, speaks, “The guards have turned into two Weregorillas and two Werewolves. They are getting ready to open the doors so the Weregorillas can throw boulders through at the Knights!”
- Gim races to the throne room door, yanking spears out to be able to open the door, “New plan! We go in now and kick ass!”
- Labarett starts pulling out spears too to help clear the door, “Good plan. Let’s do it!”
- At the other end of the throne room, the two large double wooden doors are opened partly by two Werewolves that also use the doors for cover. As soon as the doors opened, Sir Krondor kicked the side of his horse to charge in. Sir Lee lowered his lance but waited.
- Sir Krondor galloped in and then reeled his horse around to one of the Werewolves behind a door, bringing his silver hand axe down at the creature. Sir Lee then kicked his horse forward, as the second Werewolf leaped from behind the second door towards Sir Krondor’s back. Sir Krondor looked behind him, seeing the leaping Werewolf but then saw Sir Lee burst through the open doors, and his lance piece straight through the heart of the creature. The leaping Werewolf was knocked back and flung across the room from the impact, and landed dead on the stone floor, turning back into human form.
- On the other end of the throne room, on the upper level, Gim bursts through the door and charges toward the closest Weregorilla, his enchanted javelin thrust forward. Immediately the red curtain on the other side of the room is flung aside and a thin, plain looking man in a black robe steps out. He leaps towards Gim and as he does so he changes into a large Werespider, the loose back robes are now draped across the top of its large abdomen. The spider’s fangs plunge into Gim’s arm, poison and the Blood Curse entering his system but once again the Dwarve’s strong resilience protects him from the effects of both the poison and the Blood Curse (successful Save).
- Before Gim can retaliate the spider bends his lower abdomen upwards exposing his spinnerets and shots a thick heavy wad of web towards Gim which knocks him backwards onto the ground covered in webs.
- Oloma enters the throne room and sends a Psychic Blast towards the Werespider and two Weregorillas. The Weregorillas are both stunned but the Werespider is not affected. From one of the murder holes Nac also starts casting spells into the room.
- Labarett charges into the room and straight towards the Werespider and swings his battle axe into one of the Spiders leg injuring it badly (Critical Hit).
- Seanicus moves into the throne room too with Naillae close behind him. They enter the room and look across at the prone mound of Gim, wrapped in webs on the floor.
- Labarett who is standing near the white mound is swinging his battle axe at the Werespider distracting the large spider as Gim struggles to break free.
- Naillae looks at the battle and knows she can do little to help and decides instead to run over to the red curtain to see what lays within, she throws open the red curtains and for a brief few seconds the contents of the area are revealed to those standing nearby. There is a small bed, a writing desk with shelves for books, arcane charts and symbol on the wall, and a metal chest with a padlock. Seanicus sees the arcane items and then looks at the Werespider, “He’s a wizard. Maybe he’s a special spell casting Werespider.” Slowly Seanicus moves towards the Werespider.
Tumblr media
- The white mound of sticky webs starts to shake and then explodes into pieces as Gim rips apart the webs (Successful Strength check). Slowly the Dwarf gets up onto his feet and grabs his javelin.
- Not knowing what else to do, Naillae starts to check the chest for traps and attempt to pick the padlock.
- Down below, Sir Krondor swings his silver hand axe at the Werewolf in front of him, smashing the blade into the beasts shoulder and cutting a large wound (Critical Hit).
- Sir Lee calls to Sir Krondor, “If you have this in hand Sir Krondor, I’ll assist above.”
- Sir Krondor swings again at the snarling Werewolf, “Oh yes. All in hand Sir Lee, you go and …”
- And before Sir Krondor can finish his sentence the other knight charges his war horse on. Particeps gallops towards a set of winding stairs that lead to the upper level and then slowly and carefully ascends up the stairs.
- “… take care of the others,” Sir Krondor says and then looks over his shoulder to see that Sir Lee is already gone. As Sir Krondor turns to look back at the Werewolf, the creature has clawed at him and stuck its claws into the Dwarves leg (Critical Hit). The Werewolf tires to pull the Dwarf off his horse but Sir Krondor holds on tight (Successful Strength check).
- Sir Lee’s horse finally reaches the top of the stairs and moves towards one of the Weregorillas, who is still stunned, and lunges forward at the large breast with his lance which strikes.
- The Werespider looks over at Oloma and the mouth makes strange clicking noises and then the air in front of Oloma begins to glow and with a sudden flash of light a large werewolf appears, similar to the Primal Werewolf the party saw before.
Tumblr media
- Seanicus smiles with excitement, “It’s a special spell casting Werecreature! Here, little spider, bite my arm, oh so tasty flesh!” The Warlock raises his arm out invitingly which the Werespider bites on but the fangs do not penetrate through Seanicus’s armour.
- The Warlock exclaims, “Dam armour! Bite me again! Try harder this time dam it!”
- Oloma looks at the massive Werewolf in front of her and swings her Soul Knives into it. The Knives actually swish through the air where the illusionary creature is, but to Oloma’s mind she does not see that. She sees and feels her blades contact, the illusion proving too much for her to see through (Failed disbelieve check).
- The two Weregorillas are no longer stunned and now begin to fight back. Each one picks up two of the boulders from the pile near them and throw them at the party. One hits Gim, one hits Labarett and one hits Sir Lee. The boulders are devastating and nearly take out the three members in a single volley.
- Ignaaz, from the cover of the murder hole is firing spells into the throne room but misfires a spell and the spell ends up back firing into himself and injuring him (Fumble).
- Sir Krondor can see the battle above is not going well and needs to finish off quickly. He brings his silver hand axe down upon the Werewolf in front of him and smashes the beast’s head open, killing it and sending it down to the floor to transform back into human form. Sir Krondor spins his horse around to see the battle above.
- Gim is now back up on his feet and is lunging his javelin at one of the Weregorillas, cutting deep wounds into the beast. The other Weregorilla is under attack from Sir Lee who plunges his lance into it twice, making the beast roar out in pain. Sir Lee pulls the reins to make Particeps rear up to bring its two clad cloves down upon the beast but one of the magical horse shoes gets stuck on a stone floor block and comes off (Fumble). The horse stumbles a bit but Sir Lee stays on and gains control.
- Sir Krondor looking from below sees this and shouts, “Sir Lee be careful!”
- But unknown to Sir Krondor, the Cavalier is in no danger of falling off, his enchanted Saddle Of The Cavalier, ensures that Sir Lee can never be toppled off his horse. Regaining his composure, Sir Lee presses the attack and lunges his lance one more time into the Weregorilla killing it. And then without pause charges over to the other Weregorilla and takes down that beast too.
- Sir Krondor smiles, a look of utter admiration and respect for Sir Lee’s ability. As the Dwarf wipes a tear away and says to himself, “Even when Sir Lee makes a mistake, he is still magnificent in battle!”
- The Werespider suddenly transforms back into human form, the loose black robes falling over his shoulders to hang around him. He looks around at the party surrounding him and fingers a white metal ring on his finger. He flashes out of sight.
- Seanicus yells, “No! You haven’t bitten me yet!”
- The yell seems to distract Oloma for a second and then she looks at the creature in front of her and sees her blades are passing through it. She immediately realises the beast is an illusion and as she does so it becomes translucent (Successful disbelief check). The illusion somehow knows that Oloma’s belief is gone and as such the creature moves over to attack Labarett.
- Down below, on top of another pentagram curved onto the floor, hidden from view from above has appeared the figure in the black robes. Meidahl wraps the robes around him properly as he sees that he needs to get past the figure of an armoured Dwarf on a horse to escape. For some reason he was not able to teleport to the outside Teleport Circle, just beyond the large doors where the Dwarf is, there must be something on top blocking it. Meidahl contemplates teleporting directly to the Teleport Circle far far away from here but he wants to check on the safety of the others if he can. If any are still alive he would like to see they make it out of here too but only if he does not risk his life too much.
- The robed figure summons another illusion, a large Werebuffalo, next to the mounted Dwarf to distract it as be gets ready to run for freedom and out the door to check the rest of the complex.
- Labarett sees the large Primal Werewolf and begins attacking it but his battle axe goes straight through and his mind notices this straight away (Successful disbelief check). As soon as he realises the giant Werewolf is not real it becomes translucent to him. Instead, Labarett sees that Sir Krondor faces another beast below and runs down the stairs to charge into the creature. Labarett does not see the robed figure standing below the upper level in a darkened large alcove (Failed Perception versus Stealth).
- Seanicus casts Fly upon himself and flies down below to the lower level. The Warlock does see the robed figure in the shadows (Successful Perception versus Stealth) and stops his flight to turn back and approach the robed figure saying out loud, “Hold! This is a misunderstanding. We don’t have to fight each other!”
- Meidahl, the Speaker Of The Pack, steps out of the shadows, the fingers of his right hand resting on the white metal ring with a Pentagram that he wears on the middle finger of his left hand. He nods his head and the two illusionary beasts stopped attacking. He speaks out in a loud voice, “You and your friends attacked us first! What is there to misunderstand. You came into our house. You killed members of our family. You are murderers!”
- Seanicus lowers his shield, “We were told you were bandits. We were told you kidnapped Prince Poshaqa so we acted accordingly.”
- Meidahl steps towards Seanicus. Everyone else in the room is standing ready to once again fight but are watching and listening to the exchange between Seanicus and Meidahl to see what happens. Meidahl presses a weary hand to his head and sighs, “All this bloodshed when we sort to avoid it. All this death when we sort to prevent it. We all came here because we choice to keep our Blood Curse away from our loved ones and friends. We did not want to be responsible for their deaths, or worse, for cursing them too, if we were to attack them on the full moon. The Princess was not kidnapped she chose to become Cursed because the fool girl feel in love with one of our kind, Daood, a Werebat. He meet the princess in Mahik, as he was one of the few of us to go into town on select days to purchase supplies. They both feel in love and she chose to be infected and come here. Where is Daood now?”
- The party have slowly gathered around the conservation now, Sir Krondor replies sheepishly, “Well, umm, you see we didn’t know. He was killed in a battle out the front.”
- Meidahl looks saddened by the news, “How many have you killed?”
- Sir Lee responds proudly, “Quite a few really.”
- Oloma speaks, “But you have placed the princess into a cell as she won’t kill someone in a sacrifice.”
- Meidahl looks over at Oloma with confusion on his face, “What are you talking about? There is no one she has to kill. She doesn’t need to take a sacrifice.”
- Oloma insists, “But we read it in a diary. She was placed into the cells as she wouldn’t make the sacrifice.”
- Meidahl sighs again, “So much misunderstanding. All this death could have been avoided if you just spoke to us first. It is not an actual sacrifice, the taking of a life, she had to make but a spiritual sacrifice that required her to stay here and protect her friends, loved ones and the people the city of Mahik from those of us with the curse.”
- Oloma replies, “Oh. But you locked the princess in the cells.”
- Meidahl answers, “Yes, the same cells we are all locked into every full moon. They are nicely furnished, she is feed well and is taken out for supervised walks every day. She will be released as soon as she promises to stop trying to escape this place. After being here a couple of months she changed her mind and wanted to go home. She missed all the trappings of her wealthy life. She can never return home. For the safety of the innocents back in Mahik she can not return. She is cursed and every full moon will turn into an unstoppable killing machine.”
- Sir Krondor jumps in, “But you killed a hundred of the Shieks guards when they came here. Why didn’t you explain this to them.”
- “We did,” replied Meidahl. “I spoke to them but they would not listen. They were under orders to retrieve the Princess and if they had returned without her the Sheik would have had them all beheaded. We were forced to kill them all as they would not stop trying to force their way in and attack us. We did not want to do so. After that I wrote several letters to the Sheik explaining the situation, does he not know?”
- Sir Lee replies, “Apparently not. I think maybe his Spy Master, Aman could have intercepted them. I didn’t really trust that guy. A bit common for my tastes.”
- Meidahl thinks this over, “Possible. I have never meet Aman but I’ve heard he is a devious and scheming individual who coverts power. He could be using this situation to his advantage.”
- The party realise that these people are not bandits and not the bad people they had been told. Meidahl also realise that the party were acting under a mistaken belief. They agree to a truce and a stop to all hostilities. Meidahl agrees to take them to the Princess and leads them out of the throne room, past the kitchens, down a long set of steps, past the living quarters of the Pack, and to the cells. On the way, about eight more of the Pack members meet and follow them around but do not attack as Meidahl takes the leadership.
- Along the way the party discuss what to do with the Princess, as because she has willingly drunk from the Chalice Of The Moon, her Curse can not be cured by a Cleric but only by a rare and powerful Wish spell which no one has access to. Seanicus spends a great deal of time trying to convince Meidahl to turn him into a Werespider but he refuses to pass the Curse on to any other.
- They find the Princess in a “cell”. The room does in deed have metal bars but is lavishly furnished, with comfortable chairs and rugs, and plates of food. The princess is seated and stitching a colourful tapestry.  She looks up and sees Meidahl, “Oh it’s you. I was hoping it would be Daood. He hasn’t come to take me for my walk today yet.”
- The party speak to the Princess and soon learn she is spoiled, selfish and fickle. Upon hearing of the death of Daood she seems to show little care and just wants the party to take her back to her father. The more they speak to her the more convinced Sir Krondor and Labarett become that she should stay with the Pack and they should either lie to the Sheik that she is dead or tell him to come see her for himself on a full moon night what his daughter has become.
- Sir Lee decides that they have to release her and return her as he made a vow to the Sheik and he never breaks a vow. The party watch as the Cavalier unlocks her cell. The party follow Meidhal out through a large natural cavern with an large jagged open ceiling, that has wet soil and plants being grown for food where more of the Pack members are located tending the crops. They follow this round back to the circular pool room and back to the front of the ruined Palace. Meidhal informs the party that he and the others will gather their belongings and leave this place tonight to find another place of refuge. If the Sheik’s guards come back here it will be truly abandoned.
- The party make their way over the wooden plank that lays across the broken section of the stone bridge and make their way over to their horses which are still tied and waiting where they left them.
- Naillae pulls out a book and two scrolls from under her cloak, “Managed to get that chest opened whilst you guys were fighting and talking. I didn’t want to say anything in front of the robed guy and the rest of the Pack in case they got upset.”
- Nac speaks as he gets his horse ready to ride, “Well at least we got something out of this.”
- Sir Lee, who is seated upon his war horse with the Princess mounted side saddle behind him, adds, “Don’t forget we get to help ourselves to the treasury when we bring her back.”
- Oloma looks doubtful, “I don’t know. Nothing about this deal has done right. I wouldn’t be surprised if that turns sour too.”
- Naillae hands the book and scrolls to Seanicus. The book is a small Spell Book, like a travelling Spell Book, containing five 1st Level Spells and three 2nd Level Spells. Seanicus looks at the two scrolls and one is a Hold Person spell and the other is a Remove Curse spell.
<And as the party leave the ruined summer palace behind them in the late afternoon, thinking about the words of warning from Oloma, that is the end of the session.>

Sources: Denver Broncos QBs ruled ineligible vs. New Orleans Saints
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- In the on-field scenario many in the league feared the most with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Denver Broncos plan to play the New Orleans Saints on Sunday with no available quarterbacks for the game.
The Broncos' three eligible quarterbacks -- Drew Lock, Brett Rypien and Blake Bortles -- were each deemed to be a "high-risk" close contact to quarterback Jeff Driskel, and none of the three can be in uniform for Sunday's game, sources told ESPN.

Driskel tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursdayหารายได้เสริมand was moved to the team's reserve/COVID-19 list later that day.
The Broncos will not be forfeiting Sunday's game, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Lock, Rypien and Bortles, who is on the practice squad, were pulled off the field early in Saturday's practice and told to isolate at home after contact-tracing concerns had arisen, sources told ESPN. The three were discovered to have not worn masks at one point during contact with Driskel, team sources told ESPN, but it was unclear if that occurred during practice or a meeting.
