25: You can only watch one season for the rest of your life. Which one?

okay for this im putting it in a desert island type of logic where i'm not necessarily choosing my ultimate favorite season or eps but the season that i think has the most rewatchability and variety of episode types on the sad to fun scale which is drumroll season 2. has some of the shows most iconic eps and most of the eps that i inevitably go back to and rewatch a million times whenever i just want a nonspecified supernatural fix. and i think the ratio of very serious eps to silly fun eps while also being good eps is more even than most other seasons and if im only watching 1 season for the rest of my life i want some lightheartedness to even it out. also it has all hell breaks loose

I think there’d be buildup, like ‘are we really gonna do this’ eye contact and glances down at each other’s lips. Lots of breathing, lots of emotions, john would make the first move solely cuz I don’t think dean would do anything without the ok from dad. I kinda imagine it like the screenshot of dean backed against a wall with john standing over him, lots of tension, john would tilt dean’s head up to face him and be soft but also selfish? Like greedy.

Sammy has to be coaxed to nurse again, after the fire. Starts spitting up any time they try formula. In a way it's a blessing – John can’t sink into the despair he wants to when Sam needs him. Dean needs him too, of course, but Sammy needs John much more literally. Sam is keeping him alive. Can’t produce any milk if you’re dehydrated, starving, or drunk, after all.

Some days are better than others - feeding Sam feels like benediction instead of punishment. His alpha would want their pups well fed. He owes it to her. Other days, John can’t seem to stop the tears from running down his face, can barely stand to look at the chubby, pink, little boy cradled to his chest.

Sam gets used to the soft sound of rock through the impala speakers for those times where his tiny sounds of contentment only set his daddy off. Then some nights John’ll hush Dean gently, even though the boy hardly says a word a week, and ask him to turn the t.v. off, just so he can hear those sounds a little clearer. They mean safety and family and providing for his pups – a heavy balm on the part of John’s soul that’s ripped raw and red from losing Mary.
