Whether you're looking to switch careers, enhance your resume, or land your first tech job, online computer courses are an accessible and cost-effective way to become job-ready from the comfort of your home. In this post, we’ll explore the best online computer courses you can take in 2025 to boost your chances of getting hired.

Why Online Computer Courses Are in High Demand
With remote work now mainstream and businesses doubling down on digital transformation, technical skills are no longer optional—they're essential. Employers are seeking candidates who can contribute immediately, and those with verifiable, up-to-date computer skills often have a clear edge.

award for most devil’s sacrament moment of the year goes without a doubt to this morning when my coworker (delivering presentation) (screen projected onto wall in front of me and god and everyone) opened a new tab in google chrome and in the number one spot among the collection of icons for frequently visited websites was. the ao3 logo
#when i tell you it took everything i had in me not to visibly or audibly react#and she didn’t react at all! so either she has a great poker face or didn’t notice or else also subscribes to the whole devil’s sacrament#mindset i.e. ‘well if they recognize it they have no room to judge’#which is of course correct! i’m not judging! i’m simply experiencing The Kinship That Must Never Be Acknowledged very acutely in a public#and professional environment!#this is also not really new information to me like i don’t know for sure if she’s on this website but i could For Sure have pegged her as#an ao3 girlie at least and i’m sure she knows the same about me#(throwback to the runner-up for the most devil’s sacrament moment award from last week when i (clearly online) mentioned that i don’t spend#much time on youtube but i find other ways to waste it and she was like ‘oh such as?’ and i cursed my big mouth and awkwardly went ‘well i#read a lot of fiction’ (true but NOT what we were talking about and we both knew it perfectly well) and then we both had to sit with that)#anyway! mini heart attack moment for sure seeing that symbol in that context but fun times overall :)#and this is why i will never ever open ao3 in a non-incognito tab lest my computer too decide to betray me. forever amen#[REDACTED] on the OFF CHANCE YOU END UP READING THIS and recognize yourself and thus learn my online identity. please don’t tell anyone#let’s keep the devil’s sacrament between us#caseyposting

SPG [+ Pluto] Tech Headcanons:
Pluto has a computer in their room. They use it mostly for work and to play management games
Hatchworth has a tablet. He uses it mostly for drawing but also has one or two guilty pleasure games (my only thought is that old frog collecting app, y'all know what I'm talking about?)
The Spine has his computer in the Hall of Wires, which is basically his second room. Now it's not all high-tech. I mean, it is cause they're Walter Robotics, but he doesn't have like a gaming setup or anything. He uses it to browse Wikipedia. He also has a CRT and a couple old consoles in his room in place of the computer being there
Rabbit has a laptop and a phone. Yes, she's the only one who has a smartphone. She's the one recording Spine for the band's tiktok, she mostly uses it for TikTok. She uses her laptop to go on Tumblr and it's one of those tablet convertible ones so she can also draw. It also has a ton of stickers on the back
#you could consider the twins both chronically online but see there's a difference#Spine is on Wikipedia learning everything there is to know about the world#and Rabbit actually keeps up with slang and fandom culture#Hatch is somehow the least online boy#i myself am chronically online but that doesn't need to seep fully into Pluto okay?#Rabbit has an actual phone in Malfunction and i just can't see the others having one too#if they can communicate over the wifi why would they need one?#the laptop Pluto uses in my last fic is a Walter Worker laptop#this is based on a discussion with gizm0 hiii#we agreed that rabbit has blocked ao3 on Spine's computer so he can't learn about it#but of course the rest of them still have semi active tumblrs. he's had to ask rabbit what a lot of words meant#oh my stars this is the best place to put this#i love those oc question tiktoks. i answer them as Pluto all the time#one of them was like “how would your oc get cancelled?”#and i think Pluto would accidentally leak secret intel about WR#and would get computer privileges revoked for a bit while they clean up the mess#steam powered giraffe#spg fanbot#hatchworth spg#the spine spg#rabbit spg#i think i have to make all of their rooms now...

oh damn, the terrors have kicked in
#its so cold#and i emailed 2 more teachers about my accommodations#and one of them responded back right away asking if i wanted to take the asynchronous online version of the class instead#and the other has a big thing in bold in the syllabus saying computers aren't allowed cuz they're too distracting#i'm scared#like. they'll have to let me use my laptop or else deal with me not taking any notes at all#but still. what if i'm just seen as a whiny loser who wants to cause problems on purpose?#which is literally the thing i'm trying to avoid by being proactive about reaching out as soon as they open up the course#like? what if i go in first day and open up my laptop and they yell at me and then i explode#and then everyone in the room points and laughs and takes pictures and i end up on the news#with big headlines that say 'wow look at this dumbass. theyre soooooo stupid and probably smell bad'#and things of that nature#i know i'm being irrational and i know its probably just a combination of nerves and also being too cold (always fucks up my anxiety)#but also. also. what if they immediately throw hammers at me

Personal Plans on Udemy? | Resources ✨
I was thinking about Udemy because I haven't visited the site in months. When I logged back in, I noticed a new feature called "Personal Plan" on the homepage. As a web developer, I naturally clicked on the corresponding section and found something interesting~!!!
You can have access to all the listed courses and more for only £15 per month - however it is billed yearly (I hate when they do that...)! I thought, "Oh, that's great!" But, since I'm currently not employed and not earning any income, I don't think I'll enroll just yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to do it in the future!
There are other sections too like Data Science and Ethical Hacking, and even non-tech subjects too!

every day this week i have gone to set up my classroom and somehow that involves spending way more time there than i thought (9am - 6pm) and also an average of $250 a day
i’m already over this year
#my classroom library was PITIFUL#i taught primary for over a decade and last year i borrowed books from my friends and teammates#so i spent about … $400? on books alone#then of course i don’t have nearly enough space so i needed shelves#and target had those cute disc chairs on sale so they’re also in my library now#the school didn’t add headphones to the supply list and i found some on sale so i picked up a few of those#we have to use an online component for math and like hell am i going to listen to 25 computers during that time#plus new bulletin board paper and borders (okay those were very cheap)#now i really want to get some plants but lord i’m so broke

today my nephew asked me what an mp3 reader is I finally understand my elders
#stuff like this happens all the time#every time we talk i realise that we're growing up in two completely different times#also he moves through apps#every time i mention something a website or some other thing you can find online#he asks what app is that#and I'm like baby no#the world is not made of apps#apps in the way they exist today are younger than you#or all the streaming platforms#i looked for a (definitly legal) movie in front of him the other day and i played it to check the quality#because him and his mom wanted to watch it and couldn't find it#and all he said was On what platform did you find it#i was like I'm gonna tell you a story#✨the story of internet in the early 2000✨#listen we grew up with internet meaning that the internet has grown with us which means that we know it#we know how to be safe on it we know what to do and what not to do we understand when something is real and when something is not#the problem with all these new generations is that yes they know how to use a phone since year one but in reality they have no idea about#the internet they have no idea about what they hold in their hands they have no idea about what they can do with it#what the hell they don't even know how to access the internet#they don't know websites they don't know every app is actually a website#the same nephew once turned on a computer and was so lost and disappointed he asked me#is there YouTube on this thing?#my child! you have the world at your hands and you're asking me if there is youtube in it#and yes of course he's a child he need to be thought stuff abd you're right#but also not if it makes sense#at least in my experience i was left completely alone on the internet and yes i was probably watched at a distance from my older siblings#but i was given the space and time to explore it at some point i had my very own computer i was on socials at a very young age#most of the people my own age where#and we were way more responsible with it#idk where am i going with this i don't really have a point
