I am pleased to announce that I will be teaching quarterly mini-classes! These will be replacing the quarterly chapbooks I was writing, and they will be available to everyone free of charge, whether live, or as a YouTube video afterward.
If you've been following my social media over the past several months, you're likely familiar with my criticisms of AI foraging guides that have popped up on Amazon in the past year or so. In this free mini-class I'll show you just what's in these questionable sources created with programs like ChatGPT and MidJourney. Just how accurate--or dangerous--is the information in them? How can you tell when a book is written by AI rather than a real, live person? And what's being done to stop the spread of potentially fatal misinformation?
This free mini-class will be held on Sunday, June 16 at 11am PST and last about an hour. The class will be recorded and the recording made available on my YouTube channel afterward for those unable to go to the live class. To attend live, please RSVP at rebeccathenaturalist(at)gmail(dot)com and I'll email you the Zoom link; space is limited and RSVPs help me gauge how many people will be attending live, so the sooner you RSVP the better!
(Reblogs very much appreciated!)

Free college courses
I went to Coursera.org. To search for a college course. Limnology. However, when I typed that into the search bar, it came out garbled. It took me at least three attempts to figure out that . . whatever I typed into the search bar, it would register the first four letters, then mysteriously start disordering any further letters. It took several more attempts to figure out that I was consistently getting
limnygolo
The last five letters are reversed. What?? the ever-lovin'!!??
I carefully typed l-i-m-n-y-g-o-l-o
"limnology" appeared in the search box. I can't even.
*distant shouting noises, as I run into the forest forever*

What classes should I take so I can take full advantage of the annual subscription before it runs out on February 8th 2026? I want to get better at writing and art and game development and music composition. Can I do all that in a year?

pardalote's top 20 makes for 2023! Post number three :D
Okay so this is kind of a double post. Firstly, I'm really pleased with the beetles I made this year, even though it was only a small handful. But also - I'm super proud of making my first online class, Embroidered Beetles! It was many weeks of work, structuring the lessons, filming and editing hours of detailed filming, making downloadable resources and launching it all. This was a big bucket list tick for me, that brought my teaching qualifications together with my love for stitching.

Graphic Design Trends That Will Dominate 2025
Why it matters: Tools like Adobe Firefly, Canva’s Magic Studio, and Figma AI are streamlining tasks like layout generation, asset creation, and content suggestions.
What to do: Learn how to co-create with AI—not just use it as a tool, but as a creative partner.
3d banner Design Using Creative Art 👈.

Immersive UI/UX with 3D & Motion
Why it matters: As AR/VR adoption grows interfaces need to feel dimensional and responsive. What to do: Explore WebGL, Three.js, and Framer Motion for lightweight 3D and micro-interactions.
To keep up, brands are going beyond visuals and adding things like sound, touch, and even smell to create richer, multi-sensory experiences. Sonic branding is also expected to grow in 2025, as it helps brands stand out and build emotional connections with audiences.

Wait, what is the difference between the inverted comma and quotation mark in Hebrew And how do you use them?
Great questions!
🛑 The use of several punctuation marks in Hebrew is not identical to that in English, and knowing the differences makes all the difference in being able to read signs and anything written in Hebrew and in Israel.
That is why I've created a 3-video series teaching you it all! 🎯🤳
These videos cover all the punctuation marks and how to use them in Hebrew, making it the perfect companion to all you learn in Hebrew 1-2-3.
And the best part? It’s totally free.

12 Things I have learned in these past 12 months
-> Note: Since August 2022, I did go through some unexpected changes - job loss, redirection, death of a loved one, depression and healing. But here is what I learned during this period of contemplation and self-introspection and I wanted to share it with you all 💗
▪️Take time to grieve, do not bottle up those emotions because they will eventually spill out.
▪️Loss is a part of life, the sooner you accept it the easier it gets.
▪️Before deep diving into the victim mentality, take a quick look to see how much the Universe has protected and blessed you.
▪️Stop discounting those tiny milestones they are equally important in the journey and you should acknowledge them!
▪️Ego vs Higher Self - learning to balance these two is difficult but so rewarding.
▪️ Healing is a gradual process and its okay to fall back on somedays.
▪️ Patience is honestly such an underrated virtue. Be patient with yourself and others.
▪️ Do not compare, contrast or judge your chapters to someone else’s. We are all on our unique journeys so its unfair to compare.
▪️ Have faith in yourself and be determined by putting in effort to reach your desired goal.
▪️ Trust that everything will eventually fall into place.
▪️Everything is an experience whether its good or bad.
▪️ Enjoy the present moment and do not try and control too much of the future. Just go with the flow!
