Ch7: When Stuck in One Place, Try Another

Hank was in a tight spot, his manuscript was late already, and it was only going to get later. Hank was out of ideas, well, kind of, distracted was probably a better word for it. Somehow he didn't think his editor would take the excuse of 'so I'm gonna need an extension on that deadline because I'm out of ideas, and also the time I could have spent writing I've spent thinking about a guy that I've seen like once,' all that well. Kaya was great, don't get him wrong, she put up with a lot of his bullshit, but even she had her limits. Hank being almost a month late with a manuscript was definitely one of them, that he unfortunately knew from experience. Best to get this over with. After his meeting with Kaya he was meeting Jeffrey for lunch, something they didn't do as often as they should.

Figuring he'd sat outside her home office long enough, Hank turned off his beat up old car and got out to head inside. The sooner he got this over with the better. She met him at the door, her red hair tied back in a bun, her green eyes were narrowed behind wide red framed glasses. He was definitely about to get an earful.

"You're late," she said in place of a greeting stepping aside to let him in, "but im beginning to notice thats the one garuntee with you."

"Good afternoon to you too Kaya," Hank remarked letting the tall redhead lead the way to her office.

She sat in her office chair and Hank took the couch. Kaya waited until he was seated before she spoke, "Please tell me you have something, even just a progress check. You're creeping up on a month and the company is starting to breathe down my back."

Hank cleared his throat rubbing at his beard, trying to find words that wouldn't get him flayed alive, "the college has been keeping me pretty busy, when I've had time to write I havent been able to get anything down. I was, um, I was wondering if I could get an extension or maybe a hiatus period. I honestly thought I'd be done by now, I'm sorry Kaya."

She sighed, an incredibly swdate response compared to the anger that was burning in her eyes, "an extension Hank? You come in here a month overdue with nothing to show for it and you have the nerve to ask for an extension! You never fail to amaze me. I'll see if I can get you marked as on hiatus. I'll cite your being a professor as my reasoning." Hank breathed a sigh of relief, though the feeling was short lived as Kaya continued, "If you do something like this again the company is going to drop you most likely."'

"Thanks Kaya." Hank responded, "I know I'm not the easiest to work with, but this shouldn't happen again."

She watched him stand with a distant expression, "you know what happens if it does."

He nodded as he made his way to the door, "Have a good day Kaya."

"You too Hank."

Hank figured this was a long time coming, but it was still a surprise to hear just how close he was to being dropped. Not that it wasn't deserved, only a few of his manuscripts had ever been on time. For a few months out of the year he could blame it on being a professor, but the main reason for it was just that his writing process was unstructured and slow.

He needed a pick me up if he was going to be dealing with Jeff as well as Kaya. He drove the familiar route toward the university, planning to stop by the cute cafe again. He parked and walked into the cafe, making his way to the counter with plans to try that same latte again with less espresso since he was feeling more human today. There was a different barista working the counter today, Josh, according to his nametag.

"Hey," Josh said with a charismatic smile, "welcome to Hand Brewed Hope, what can we get started for you?"

"I'll take a medium vanilla latte with two shots of espresso," he almost ordered something for Jeff but then thought better of it.

"Connor will have that down at the other counter for you when its done," Josh said handing the cup off to the other barista.

Hank followed the action with his eyes and then his brain froze. It was the barista from yesterday, he figured as much from the name, either the kid from his night class or his twin. He was just as struck by Connor this time as he had been before and it took all of his strength not to just stare. If anything he was more attractive now that Hank was awake enough to take in more than just his eyes.

Connor was tall, maybe a couple inches shorter than Hank. His brown hair was styled back neatly save for one errant curl that fell defiantly onto his forehead giving the look boyish charm. Hank caught himself staring and decided to make conversation.

"So, uh, Connor, was it?" Hank asked in the ineloquent way that seemed to be the usual of him when he was around the barista.

"Yes professor?" Came the almost immediate response and Hank needed a minute.

Hank stared again, trying to assess if he had in fact heard that correctly. Upon the realization that he he had, his stomach turned on itself. Nothing said dirty old man quite like crushing on one of your students.

"Well that answers that I suppose," Hank said, and hopefully he didn't sound like he was choking on his words.

Connor couldn't be more than in his early twenties at best, and Hank was turning thrity-nine come September. On top of being his professor, the age difference would make anyone uncomfortable. This crush needed to be tucked away, it couldn't become anything. He was pulled from his thoughts by the paper togo cup coming into his line of sight. He took it with a weak smile.

"Have a good day professor," Connor said kindly as he turned to leave.

"You too kid," he responded lifting the cup in place of a wave as he left the cafe like the devil was on his heels.

He could already hear Jeff giving him a hard time about falling for yet another pair of pretty brown eyes, as well as the following lecture about appropriate behavior. He rolled his eyes at his own thoughts and started his car heading to their usual place, a diner by the police station. He drank from the latte, deciding that two shots of espresso was ideal, the bitter perfectly balanced by the vanilla.

Hank arrived before Jeff as was usual and picked a table close to the door, somewhere easy to spot. Jeff arrived a few minutes later, sitting across from Hank. He eyed the coffee cup.

"Good to see you're as much of an asshole as I remember," Jeff joked in way of a greeting, "stopped for a fucking coffee and didn't even get me anything."

Hank laughed shaking his head, "I don't see you for six months and the first thing you do is bitch at me for not buying you a coffee. Some friend you are."

"How's the new book coming along?" He asked looking over the menu.

Hank winced, "I asked to be put on hiatus with my publisher because of got nothing in me right now."

Jeff gave him a sympathetic smile, "how's the university treating you then?"

"Good," Hank replied setting his own menu down having decided on a bacon burger, "night classes are pretty relaxed. How are things at the station?"

"Hectic." Came the reply as Jeff flagged for a waiter, "just got a bunch of new academy graduates and they all think they're hot shit."

"You know how it is, give them a few months and the gravity of the job will set in."

There was a lull in the conversation long enough for them to place their orders. Then the topic finally turned away from work. Though Hank didn't like the new topic that much better.

"So you seeing anyone Hank?" Jeff asked right as he was drinking from his latte. His choking must have marked him as guilty because Jeff continued with, "let me guess, brown eyes."

"Its complicated," Hank replied when he caught his breath, staring at the table as though it held the solution to all of his problems, "he's one of my students. I met him here though." He said tapping the paper cup, "he's a barista."

He could feel Jeff's eyes on him and he looked up. "You've got it bad, its written all over your face." Hank could feel the lecture coming, "you know you can't do anything right? At least not until the semester is out."

"I know that Jeff, jesus." The second half took a little longer to catch up with Hank, "wait what?"

"He's taking night classes right? So that usually means older students. Try talking to him outside of class, like at the shop once the semester is over," Jeff said casually, as though he wasn't suggesting that Hank talk to a guy that was younger than him but also definitely out of his fucking league.

Hank was saved from having to reply when their food arrived. Content silence followed as they enjoyed their lunch, though in the background Hank was overtaking what Jeff had said. Could he approach Connor? Would that be okay? Worst comes to worse Connor would just assume him an overly conversational customer. It couldn't hurt to try he supposed, but then again he'd always been a sucker for brown eyes.

They switched to lighter topics until it came time to part ways. Like always they parted with the half empty promise that they would do this more often. Hank giving a less empty promise that, yes he would at least try and talk to Connor when the semester was out.

Hank had left in a better mood than he had arrived in. For the first time in months he felt inspired, he wanted to write. Not for his manuscript, but maybe it was time to start a new project. Something that better fit what he was feeling, something light and happy. A short piece probably, but well worth the wait. Something that reflected the warmth that can be found in warm brown eyes.

more head/canon post for mochi & lime!! (some stuff i need to get down since its been a bit)

mochi and lime first met when they were 5 and her and her mom moved into the town

limes FIRST EVER interaction with her was sticking his tongue out and making one of THOSE NASTY KID FACES so they did not get off to a good start

mochi and lime actually hated each other until they were like 12

(not like HATE hate but. a sereve rivalry dislike)

in kindergarden/1st grade (before mochi got there) lime was like. everyones favorite. he was a super cute, super smart kid and all the adults just loved him!!! he was friends with all his classmates

when MOCHI came along she was JUST AS CUTE and on par with how smart he was, she was just more quiet and mature, so all the teachers LOVED HER and he was jealous

this is why he started bullying/teasing/making fun of her

throughout most of their elementary/middle school they would compete over grades and sports. top tier rivalry. (their parents/grandparents growing rivalry between businesses wasnt helping much either)

yet lo and behold. they kept getting put together in group projects. because their names were next to each other alphabetically. they spent a lot of nights at each others houses trying to do those middle school science projects, the whole time sneering and jabbing at each other

mochi was never really one to be nasty to someone (that was 90% lime), she was patient enough to quietly ignore them and/or subtly shame them for their behavior (lime HATED this because he would be so mean to her and she wouldnt insult him back. guilt x10)

late middle school/early high school mochi started getting picked on by a different group of kids, which lime saw and ended up sticking up for and defending her. 

he makes some excuse like “Hey, I must just have some kind of hero complex” or something, and afterwards mochi sees him differently. ‘Maybe hes not so bad’ and ‘That was kind of nice of him’

later lime goes home and wonders ‘Maybe I don’t actually hate her’

when theyre old enough to go to school and go home by themselves, they always walk together. he doesnt notice he gets a bit more protective of her (from the other kids) and she starts to develop a crush on him. long walks and train rides home and they start to actually become friends. turns out they get along really well when theyre not fighting

after a while lime starts making excuses to hang out with her. mochi has no problem inviting him to go shopping with her or whatever, but his prideful ass has a problem with hanging out with her just because he wants to so he fakes his need for help in school so he can come over to her house (she doesnt mind at all)

mochis mom LOVES HIM A LOT!!!!!! hes like her son..... shes always trying to give him free food from their shop... he doesnt know how to tell her hes tired of eating her food all the time....

when they were young kiwi would go and pick them both up from school. either by car or taking the train home with them (just to make sure they were ok)

when they got to high school they stopped competing as much (since obv lime grew to be WAY more athletically inclined and they helped each other with school anyway) they become best friends without either of them even noticing

mochi stays after school to wait for lime to get done with his sports practice some days, lime stays and waits for her to finish her club meetings, because of this they end up being friends with each others clubs by accident. all the baseball guys try to hang with mochi during rests. all mochis club members swoon over lime

mochis known about her heritage as a witch from the time she was born when shes 16 (or 15, havent decided yet) her powers awaken, and Pom is born to guide and protect her

coco loves to dance. not professionally, but just like. on the street. in her room. at school. she just puts in her earphones and uptown funks her ass down the halls. 

shes REALLY good at it but doesnt want to like. dance for a living or anything

coco is also a part of the self defense club. she can fucking fight let me tell you. like limes fighting style is more like SWING THE BAT WITH WRECKLESS ABANDON (and somehow wins???????), mochi uses magic, but coco holy FUCK shes the up close physical fighter. DANGER

i like the idea of cocos magic kicking shoes. her kicks have POWER man

coco is like the LAST to find out about mochi. taffy breaks it to her. and shes like “MAN what are you on. need me some of that” “WITCHES ARNT REAL YOU PAGAN MOP HOLY FUCK” 

and poor taffy is just shook., and slightly scared.

taffy is a bit older than the bunch. mochi lime and coco are all 16, taffy is 18/19

coco lives in a different part of town, so she hangs out with mochi guys in school but she never really comes over to mochis house at night (unless its a sleepover)

lime is extremely thankful for this

part of the reason lime doesnt like coco is because. other than the fact that shes COCKY, SARCASTIC AND RASH, mochi gets along really well with her. he fears his best friendship with her is in danger

what will i do if she ditches me????? who else can i just hang out with???????? no one else gets me like mochi does??????????????

AAHH THANK YOU FOR BEING INTERESTED!!!! sorry for the late reply i wanted to be able to format BUT YKNOW

so basically it’s a mismatch of fantasy and scifi that leans more towards sci-fi if anything. it’s not based on earth or our solar system, and its a bit of like… cyberpunk in terms of cybernetic modifications + technology with a steampunk aesthetic. so like a few technologically advanced cities that are huge scattered throughout the world, and the further out you go from these cities, the less technologically advanced they are. there’s also a bit of magic, creatures, and quests that make up the fantasy elements.

it’s set five years after a huge world war that devastated the planet. the planet’s currently rebuilding, but resources are scarce, quality of life is impaired significantly, and there’s rebuilding but it’s slow. the good guys won, but they’re considerably weak and are still in the process of freeing some of the smaller societies that are still under siege (by the imperialists).

in the background there’s a secret organization of assassins who’ve been in stasis until the war ended. they believe they’re the answer to the problems of the world, and believe that people should be controlled without knowing they are. they’ve waited in stasis during the war, refusing to help either side, and are now in the process of wiping out political leaders and sending in those they’ve placed to take over without anyone knowing.

originally they were formed to be neutral and their sole goal was to maintain peace for the planet, and started off with good intentions and the belief that humanity as a whole were good and they were merely protectors. however, as time went on, corruption and a lack of desire to change and adapt to the world around them + growing cynicism made them into the organization they are currently.

this organization would take children during the war, either in the dead of night, or were given away by parents who believed them when the organization said they would protect these children during the war. of course, the parents never saw them again. these children were trained as elite warriors and depending on how well they did as children, would rank up within the organization or be sent out to the world to spread peace throughout the masses.

there’s a few conspiracy theorists that talk about the group existing, but it’s mostly seen as spooky campfire stories by the gen population at large about children going missing in the dead of night.

MY CHARACTERS… MY OCS.. MY BABIES UNDER THE CUT FOR THE LENGTH AND NOT WANTING TO CLUTTER THE DASH

so the protag is a former assassin of the group whose name is azura! she’s the only one who managed to escape from the organization. on her first assassination mission, she couldn’t kill someone, especially while they were asleep and weaponless, so she faked their deaths and ran.  

at the start she’s very on edge despite her very blasé personality. she’s crude, funny, cocky, and has a habit of running when things get too real. she found the biggest city closest to her, changed her name, and decided to hide within a crowd.

most of her skills are based in fighting, so she’s made a living as a merc for hire because… well she doesn’t have any other skills that are worthwhile to a nonviolent lifestyle and nobody would hire her. she doesn’t kill, but she’ll find people, objects, etc. for anyone after she’s gotten a reasonable background check on them.

bisexual former assassin who’s got a heart of gold who’s trying her best despite her mouth getting in the way

her main goal is to help bring peace to the world after realizing her hand in what made the world the way it is. also to make sure ajur gets justice after trying to kill her lol (a lot of vengeance vs justice ties in between her and ajur)

she also has a robo dog named fish!

my antag is named ajur and him and azura were raised in the same organization together. same teacher, and were neck and neck for the top spot, but they actually got along really well together. he actually considers her his sister, so when she left, it felt like a betrayal. 

since she failed to complete her first mission, his first mission was to kill her. he spends the whole year she’s gone searching for her, and the only reason he finds her is because she takes a job with a higher pay roll then she usually does.

farah and ajur are both traumatized survivors who are raised the same way and in the same place, but have both made choices that lead them on very different paths. i just wanted to show that you have the choice to be good or not based on your choices, not your upbringing and i wanted to highlight that

while azura is more skilled in combat, he’s more skilled in leadership and is more charismatic than she is, and has the backing of many young members of the organization who feel the same as he does

his main goal is to also bring peace to the world, first by dismantling the organization of assassins and leading them and the rest of the world into a new age of safety (through murder, manipulation, and false sense of security - is very pragmatic and believes the ends justifies the means, and if the world needs a person to be the one to kickstart with violence in order for the world to know no violence, he will take on the role)

then my side charas are farah, a runaway lesbian who azura first met when she came to the city then left because of how strong their connection was. (bisexual disaster.) nobody knows she’s a princess, and for good reason. her kingdom is still under siege by imperialists and she was the only one of her family to escape. she’s the head to azura’s heart, very logical, charismatic, and good with a sniper. 

there’s eva and bones hawthorne, my twins!!! eva is a pilot/mechanic and bones is a hacker/cyborg/dabbles in the occasional engineering. their older brother died during the war, and their family and village are still recovering from the effects of it. they learned their skills from their family, and are heavily involved with resistance groups. 

eva’s very head in the clouds, a little naive, but very protective over bones. she learned to pilot from her older brother, and how to maintain the ship too. she believes there’s good in everyone, you just have to look for it. 

bones is a little more realistic than his sister, and is also very protective over her even though they have that ‘hey ugly’ ‘what’ ‘lol’ ‘omg shut up’ relationship. he lost his his leg up to his knee from an attack on their village, and feels guilty because their family had to give up nearly everything in order to get a cybernetic replacement so he does jobs here and there that are a little more criminally inclined to help his family. 

then comes ari malloy, eva’s boyfriend! he’s the one who hired azura to retrieve a part of a map that leads to a mystical force that could restore the planet to its former glory (the fantasy quest-ish part, which i havent completely figured out yet lol). he’s a scout for the resistance, good with medicine, and average in combat. he’s also pretty much the glue of the team, and takes on a more parental role for the team.

and last but not least is ronan acosta. he’s a seer who is plagued by visions of the planet’s inevitable destruction due to humanity, and has a big hatred for it, partly due to his vision of the end and how he was treated because of his ‘curse’ as he sees it. he’s also able to talk with those from beyond to gather information, but it comes at a cost to his health where he gets migraines, passes out, or goes into seizures. he’s very closed off, angry, and not willing to help azura and co. with their quest at first, but he’s got a secret soft side where he just yearns to be a kid and have a family considering his abandoned him. (he’s also bones’ love interest)

lets do a read more so i can explain my characters and THEN do all the questions!

well first off: all of these characters are superheroes! they basically protect their city (new york. somewhere in there i havent really decided yet) from monsters and this demon named kaal (who i have not drawn yet so…. technically she doesn’t exist. and none of the characters really know she exist either. so thats fun.)

in their superhero form they have different names to protect their identity (even they don’t each other’s real identities!), they each have a different elemental power and a different weapon, AND they each have different jewelry that gives them their powers and superhero outfits.

naomi dao: she’s a vietnamese highschool student! (she’s in the same grade as the other three! specifically they’re all in their junior year) she has the power of hydrokinesis, which is the power of being able to control water. her weapon is a staff, her jewelry is earrings, her superhero name is aqua and her eyes turn green when in her superhero form. she’s basically the leader of the group.

selena hayes: she’s mixed (black and white if you wanna get specific) and she has the power of pyrokinesis which is the ability to control fire! her weapon is a whip, her jewelry is a ring, her superhero name is flare, and the tips of her hair and her eyes turn a golden orange in her superhero from!

jamila bajwa: she’s middle eastern and muslim, and she has the power of aerokinesis (the ability to control air) and holographic projection (the ability to create holograms). i gave her another superpower because i thought just air manipulation was kinda lame. her weapon is a bow an arrow, her superhero name is air, and her jewelry is a necklace!

holly suake: she’s native american and of the cherokee tribe, and her power is chlorokinesis (the ability to control plants). her weapon is a sword, her jewelry is a bracelet, her superhero name is earth, and her eyes turn green in her superhero form.

anyway that was a lot. time to move on from talking about my overpowered mary-sue ocs and GET INTO SOME QUESTIONS HEYO!

naomi: naomi is kinda closed off ESPECIALLY as aqua. she kinda acts as like a leader and doesn’t really want to get attached to any of the others. so… nah. she’s not really affectionate.

selena: i’d say she’s the most affectionate out of everyone, but she’s not crazy affectionate. like when they win a super huge battle, or she’s just feeling really happy, she will hug tackle people (usually to aquas dismay.) she’ll put her arm around people and she’s definitely pretty optimistic!

jamila: she is a muslim character and i DO need to look more into this- from what ive researched i’ve seen that muslim women are usually not affectionate towards men, but idk about women? since everyone on the team is a girl. i’d say jamila is average affectionate! she’d cheer people on and give people high fives and stuff like that, but i don’t really see her as a hug type of person.

holly: i’d say she’s the same with selena! if she sees selena hug tackle someone on the team she will most likely do the same or join the dogpile. she’d probably do the pick-up hug where she also spins them in the air while going like ‘YEAH WE DID IT!!’

naomi: naomi tries to remain stoic and brave as aqua- but as naomi she’s as emotional as everyone else! (i don’t mean like she’s crying every five seconds. i mean that the amount of emotions everyone else shows she’d show the same amount.) naomi is also strategically just like holly- but it’s not unlikely that you would find her just jumping into battle with no second thought. at the beginning of the story, i’d say she’s pretty good mentally but later- thanks to kaal- she’s like crazy messed up. i’ll probably go into that later but uh. not right now. just know that kaal is straight up evil.

selena: selena is crazy smart! even though she knows it’s probably best to think through things strategically, she always goes with her gut instinct because she trusts herself. selena is also pretty emotional both as selena and flare- she will openly share what she is feeling.

jamila: jamila isn’t really ‘we have to plan this out to the t’ but shes also not the type to just run straight into danger. she is a little more strategic than not, but when need be she will do what she thinks is the right decision in that moment. jamila is average with her emotions too.

holly: holly is super strategical! she’s basically the character that would start talking about the plan, look up like ten seconds later and all the others would already be gone. she’d probably just facepalm and go join the others to make sure they don’t do anything really stupid and die.

as stated in the last question- holly and naomi are the most strategical of the group!

hobby

naomi: well the whole ‘what do they love? what captivates them?’ is like WAY too deep for me so. i’m just gonna list their hobbies. naomi plays softball and she’s really good at it!

selena: selena is part of like stem and robotic clubs, so she enjoys making robots and competing in robotic competitions.

jamila: along with naomi, she is an athletic type! except that she doesn’t play softball, she plays soccer and is baller at it.

holly: holly is musical! she mostly focuses on violin, but she knows the general basics of most other instruments like piano, guitar, etc.

interiors

naomi: naomi lives in a rather big house with her two moms so she’s doin pretty good. naomi seems like the type to hang up pictures of her family so she probably has tons of pictures of her chillin with her moms (no siblings- she’s an only child.)

selena: selena totally hangs up all the school awards she gets. you just walk in and you see medals from robotics competitions, papers of showing academic excellence and probably some perfect attendance awards up there. selena also has an older brother in college so she probably has a funny pic of them hanging up somewhere.

jamila: jamila enjoys lookin good and feelin nice, so she probably has tons of face cleansers, lotions, makeups and bathbombs (of the sort) ALL up in her bathroom. she keeps everything pretty neat and tidy- but it’s not like EVERYTHING HAS TO BE IN ITS PLACE ALWAYS. she just gets anxious when things around her are cluttered, so her house is pretty neat. (she is also an only child.)

holly: holly lives with her single mother and her twin younger brothers (her dad had died when she was young) so her house is usually very busy due to the 13 year old brothers and all the childrens hobbies- and they do only have one mom. the house is filled with soccer gear (the brother’s) and musical things with holly. sometimes the house is a mess due to the younger brothers, but it’s never absolutely terrible. holly has posters up in her room of bands and celebrities that she likes.

You are free to come leave comments at any point during the week. You can comment as you read, or you can wait till you get through the entire thing. Whatever suits your schedule best is fine~! We don't know much about them other than people are unaware they're 'real'. Truthfully unless I see some actual world affecting stuff, I don't believe this won't have any affect on his endeavors directly. Indirectly, perhaps. Like how Eric + Celeste already have been doing the magical thing for some time - that there's conspiracy theorists going around

IDK and TBH this is the most frustrating part of the read for me. It's all hearsay footnotes in the comic. If these three space people were so important and play such a huge role, why have they only been foot notes so far? In fact I didn't know it was 3 people initially because the compound name has been confusing and it took a trip to the creator's site and into the character reincarnation to figure out it's actually 3 people. Which sadly has spoiled some things for me ;;;;

Sadly I don't have a favorite scene nor character yet. Mickael was getting close but I'm kinda playing it by ear right now. >_>' But it's a very pretty comic; the eyes in particular have such a pretty depth to them ^u^(edited)

1. My favorite scene so far was the one where Decebal was behind Mickeal at his home. It felt kinda spooky. I also like Erik talking to Naples in bed, I think it showed how young Erik is, lol. 2. My favorite character is Erik, cause he's adorable n(UvU)n I'd like to see more of Arrow though, I feel like he's been underused so far.(edited)

5. Hope said hes a proxy for one of the big space people so I'm guessing that initially. The only reason he doesnt have powers is because they havent given him any, right? So I think hes going to have a much bigger purpose later. I mean it seems Erik is the big power house but theres probably areas he cant touch that the other two can.

I'm curious though what proxy means specifically in this case

Can't say! Not enough info to judge this. As far as stopping Decebal -- if not in this life, then maybe another...

MDV -- Because making sure the earth doesn't get screwed up by a grumpy fallen angel is kinda important. Also, clearly Erik, Arrow, and Celeste are somehow otherwise linked to those three!

Good question! We don't know too much about him aside from the fact that he's a twin and also is interested in Erik.... So maybe he'll become the story's damsel in distress alongside Rose. >:3

Ahahaha. I mean, realistically, I imagine Arrow will support Erik and Celeste, but beyond that? Hard to say. If he's a proxy like the other two, then it's curious that they haven't given him powers, unless his space person is working more through him? ...tbh I can't remember which one corresponds to which without looking at the life chart

One of the things I always wonder while reading Soul Hymn is that would Erik like goat cheese? Or what kinds of foods with the characters like or dislike and if they are connected through all the souls do the all have the same likes and dislikes or different depending on each thing.

1. Favourite scene so far was when Arrow saw Erik for the first time and completely just shoved his sister across to make room for him. It was just the comedic moment of the dismay in Celeste's face. 2. I think my favourite is Squirrel Familiar? I'm trying to look for the name since it's been awhile since I read the comic, but I love how sassy that squirrel was.

Haha, I like that scene too with him pushing her on the chair Yeah~! Naples is his name. Also, they do generally keep a lot of their likes and dislikes from other lives, but some things change too based on their current environment and upbringing. The ring spell didn't give them any new knowledge or information so it didn't really change anything in their personality. The spell varies from life to life though based on what their souls predetermined for it before being born. Erik would like goat cheese I think XD He's not really a picky eater, although I do think he's vegetarian. Erik really likes to cook too so he has a wide repertoire culinary wise. Arrow would most like foods he can eat while working I think, like sandwiches and fast food. Celeste is kind of apathetic about food overall, although I don't think she'd turn down a pastry, lol.

also, sorry i'm not responding to everything, I'm trying to avoid anything that'd be really spoiler territory from me, but I love reading all the different PoVs.

anything on the site isn't particularly a spoiler though so it's all right to check out the world page, since I decided it's okay to know the lifetimes of the characters from the beginning as it helps to see their evolution over time.

That scene in the train subway thing where Erik and Celeste fought that demon and had to be bailed out by Hope. I vastly enjoy that Hope came expecting the proxy people to solve all his problems, except nope. No problems solved for him. They aren't ready.

For today, at least, gonna pick Celeste. I think Celeste all around has the best facial expressions and I like that shes upfront about the fact she hates being considered 2nd class to Erik.

Also that part where Arrow said he and erik just met today but it has hearts on the bubbles.

I have to say Celeste. She's sassy sure but not in an annoying way and I like that. Also Naples... such an adorable puffball.(edited)

I feel like it's too early for me to gauge it so I can't really give a clear answer. I believe Erik will succeed tho as long as he gets his psyche intact and not get affected by the pillars like what happened when Desire grabbed his hand.

Or murderous, if they're so inclined to take the murder-the-hypotenuse route -- but I mean, that would require someone stepping in and bein' like "Yo, Celeste.. Arrow........ wanna make Erik suffer for cheating on you with your sibling?" Meanwhile Erik's all over in the corner, like "What"

I mean soul hymn should be pretty okay by itself, but maha deva vijaya have appeared in Zenchav out of order so it explains them a touch more atm, and soul hymn will directly feed into Zenchav by the end, but it hasn't yet. Witch Carnival also mentions the ring spell more, but again I don't think any of them are actually necessary to read for the story, more just additional information for people into the overarching story

RedEmyr ties into Soul Hymn the least so it d be super irrelevant to read for SH info

Basically the virtues are angels who perform small miracles within mankind and represent a virtuous quality. Decebal turned them into their negative opposite and that negative quality is then constantly feeding into them from their surroundings (via people's negative thoughts and energy). They're called the pillars in this negative state because to Decebal they represent a pillar of negative energy he's building for a "purpose".

Decebal's life is before Rex's since Rex is a fallen angel, Erik's life is after Damon's though

The space people are irrelevant time wise I think since they exist in their own sort of timeline with a different trajectory

But they do interact in some manner with most of the lives.

Technically they're supposed to play an inactive role within the lives of mortals and use other means

My fiance owns an old home in northern Ohio and was paying over $1,300 a year for homeowner's insurance until last year. She can't afford over $100 a month in premiums so I looked into trying to get a lower rate. All three agents that I contacted about the matter assumed a replacement cost for her house of around $157,000 which resulted in premiums of exactly what she had last year. The very idea of insuring her house for $157,000 is absurd for two reasons. The first is that I personally built a house in an upscale neighborhood which was almost three times as large and also had an attached garage. I sold that home for around $150,000 and made about $40,000 profit. The second reason that $157,000 is absurd is that any day of the week you can buy a much better house in the neighborhood for less than $60,000. I was able to find a lower rate of around $600 a year through the Ohio Fair Plan website by assuming a realistic replacement cost of $60,000 and not including such things as jewelry coverage (she has no valuable jewelry), and other coverages that don't make sense. Unfortunately, and after contacting several insurance agencies, not a one will write the coverage as specified. The gave me the flimsiest of excuses. It appears to me as if all the insurance companies doing business in our area may have colluded to lock in homeowner insurance rates far higher than is justified. I reserved a rental car in California with Enterprise. The price was $9.99/day because of a weekend deal . When I checked in at the counter the agent told me that I needed to either provide proof of FULL COVERAGE insurance or purchase their insurance (which would raise my daily rate from $9.99 to $40)!! After a week or so i thought to myself that if i get in a accident god forbid and it was my fault i have to may myself for damages and you know for such a car would be very expensive so i asked my broker if i can changed it to full coverage and so they did. on the day i did the change the girl that worked for my broker and assisting me asked me Klodian you are aware your license is suspended. I said yes and i explained the reason y. So she found this insurance company for a low price and she emailed me the contract to sign and fax it to her. now under the questions which i saw of course latter after i was denied claim i saw they were marked all NO and that was done on computer not hand writing. which of course in this case was done by the girl that helped me. Now my broker told me that insurance company should had run your driving record before they issue insurance to you and if they done that they were gone see your driver lisence was suspended. But when my broker asked them why they didnt run it Their answer was that they trusted me based on the contract i signed which to my opinion is BS.
