For each “⭐️” I get, I’ll write a headcanon about our muses.

Dante has a terrible temper, which he often loses with Aria verbally because he's not used to a woman challenging him. And while it's not challenging, Aria won't be silent over what she thinks and what she thinks it's right. In general, the thought of someone challenging him or opposing his beliefs means a shot to the head or, torture. His defense mechanism is to show he can be feared, but he doesn't show it to the fullest with her because in truth he never wishes to cause any harm to her at all.

He loves Aria, but he doesn't want to show any emotions. He doesn't want to show he can love someone, that he can care for anyone. His father taught him to be cold, emotionless and tactless because he's around dangerous people, so he needs to prove he can be superior to them in everything, including business, pleasure, money. The scars he has are from physical altercations, but the ones on his chest and face come from a former lover he was head over heels for, but his devotion to this woman caused him to almost end up being a corpse on a side of a road in the Maldives. He had been cheated, tricked and lied to, so he's wary of anyone that comes to him and the first thing he does is analyze them from head to toe. With Aria, it was the same, despite how she initially approached. But over time, he realized Aria was different, and he can show emotions through some romantic affections and when they are having sex.

Dante is not possessive towards any woman, because he doesn't like the feeling of "being owned" or "owning someone", but his growing closeness to Aria made him extremely cautious and jealous of anyone that dared to touch her or come close to her. When Aria is away to meet some people she knows, he feels a discomfort and a concern he doesn't want to show to her, but he asks his guards to follow her and watch her so nothing happens to her.

The Song of the Wedding Rings

The idea here was to write about marriage in terms of the actual punishing metallurgical processes by which gold wedding rings are made, from the formation of the minerals in which it is found to the finished pieces of separated jewellery with which the marriage begins. It became quite an effective allegory for the resistance and conflicts invited when two souls embark on the perilous adventure of wedding into one and was a deliberate challenge to the convention that the wedding is the 'happy ending' of something as in romance novels, as any 'married' person knows it's just the start and you aren't really 'married' in that sense for a long long time, if ever. The ego resists it as fiercely as the love invites it. Thus the choice of poetic form, terza rima, is  that chosen by Dante for Paradiso but also for Inferno and Purgatorio. This 'wedding' of the he and she  is hell and purgatory with a vision of heaven. I read it at our best man's wedding as part of the service though for obvious reasons in that context I emphasised the heavenly vision just before the end.
