what are your thoughts on the time aspect? ive always loved the theme of clocks, rhythm, death, and of course dave and aradia are the best characaters ever lmfaoooo. also random rambling: i feel like i often have this sort of ticking metronome in the back of my head that makes me feel very time-y and ive always LOVED music and cool antique stuff. im not sure how much of that is an indication of my actual claspect though lol

Apologies; you sent this months ago and I am only answering it now! I hope these thoughts of mine are still satisfactory to read about.

I feel as though Time's inverse, Space, is understood to be "creativity", and those who may not entirely understand what an aspect is meant to be tend to take its inverse's opposite. However, the "opposite of creativity" doesn't paint a very fun picture. While "creativity" isn't necessarily wrong for Space, I understand Space to be a journey, joy in the traveling. Time, therefore, would be an ending goal, the satisfaction of victory.

From The Extended Zodiac, I pulled these keywords from the Time Aspect description. These would be the "canon" traits; they are what I adhere to when analyzing, but it should also be understood that this concept encompasses much more to do with than these keywords. Its "vibe", if you will, is much more than what is written.

TEZ Time Keywords: Struggle, restless, action, goal-oriented, relentless, empathetic, problem-solvers, (ruthless, defensive, impulsive)

The keywords I chose to represent Time are "Repetition, Goals, Efficiency, Restlessness". This aspect, like all the other aspects, is inherently neutral. It is not good or bad, but has the potential to be either.

Time is about optimization. Timebound do not create new solutions; they use what they are given within the finite and refine it into the tools they use to achieve their goals. Their satisfaction comes from the end product of their labor, and they are not satisfied if they are not working towards something; anything can be a goal to work towards for the Timebound. If Space is an infinite destiny (a course of events within the present moment), then Time is a finite fate (the future outcome).

If it's not broke, don't fix it; an efficient method is a good method, and a good method is an efficient method. It is the nature of Time to stick to what it knows works well rather than attempt to figure out some other way of achieving the same goal. (Code, and the action of coding, is a good example of this.) This repetition of methods can certainly translate into a metronome of sorts; monotonous and keeping a beat. While music is the logical conclusion to draw from this, I could make a case that it is specifically rap that is Time's purest form of music, since it focuses on the rhythm of the words rather than singing a tone. At the very least, I would say each Timebound has their own rhythm and way of doing things that is simply what makes the most efficient sense for them to do. (Perhaps that is why Dave is so fixated on being ironic when he grew up under the care of a Prince of Heart...)

Dave is the poster child for all Timebound everywhere, of course. As the Knight of Time (Active Utilizer), Dave is extremely skilled with his aspect; since Time is about efficiency, Dave would be able to achieve a great deal of things in a very short amount of time. And he does! I would almost say that if he were any other class but a Knight, the beta kids probably would have crashed and burned hard. Meanwhile with Aradia, the Maid of Time (Passive Enhancer), she would rely on others for her aspect; this manifests in a few different ways. She documents the code on the frog temple for Sollux to then adapt into SGRUB. Ghosts are considered to linger behind after their deaths due to a state of unrest and "unfinished business", which is quite in line with the nature of Time. She relies on the destruction of alternate timelines to guide her choices, which ends up amassing an army of Aradiabots to passively help the trolls in their battle against the black king.

I've been trying to figure out the Marked in Faith timeline - not anchored to a calendar year but internal relative timeline.

At the beginning Brian is 16 almost 17 a week before New Year's and Dom is 23. Mia is 19.

As far as I can tell Brian's birthday is early January and I think Dom's is Novemberish? (Brian's date with Dom on his birthday was just before Earl showed up at the garage and Brian ended up back in juvie for something like 6 weeks before he turned 18. So being generous on the timeline there's maybe 2 months between Dom's birthday and Brian's)

This means Dom had just recently turned six when Brian was born. Which means that it had to be very near Dom's birthday for him to have been 5 with his Dad in the car and for the mark to be clear enough to recognize the image.

I can't remember if you have given specifics, but I get the feeling that Dom was something like 14 or 15 when Teresa died? Meaning Mia was 10 or 11. Is this right?

How old was Dom when Anthony died? And how long did he spend in Lompoc? But for Dom to have served his sentence and be out of prison, with no parole restrictions by 23, and successfully running a business, I feel like timing-wise he had to still be under 18 when it happened? Like maybe 17ish - and charged as an adult. Mia would have been 13 when their aunts/uncles had to step in to be her guardian while Dom was in prison.

(Researching sentencing is super difficult because it depends on how they charged the crime and if there was any enhancement for great bodily harm and if any mitigating circumstances were considered and if he had a record etc.)

How old is Vince in comparison to Dom? Are they the same age? When was Vince's drinking-problem relative to Dom being in prison?

Sorry for going on - I like to figure out timelines and this one has been bugging me.

I totally understand a reader's brain wanting to nail down the timeline and understand it and immerse yourself in it and I love that you want to do that for Marked in Trust!

I come at it with writer's brain though and it's slightly different for me. While I do have a rough order of events and corresponding ages that I think things happen, I don't like to pin down events if I haven't yet fully played with them, if that makes sense? For instance, I don't want to tell you oh yes Dom was 100% 16 when this or that happened because I might want to play with that section of his life later and organically the scene might not flow around these little points that I weighed the narrative down with before the event was fully fleshed out. Fixing points in stone always makes me nervous, lol, because then I can't go back. The muse needs room to groove, lol.

So I'll do my best here but I reserve the right to wiggle later.

(honorable mentions to my brain hating numbers which is annoying when you're doing adult stuff *and* when you have a nearly 1million word series that gives a lot to remember aside from numbers lol, and also some of these events came out in MiT when I never dreamed of the 800k words that would come later lol so please forgive me being annoyingly handwavy on some of this)

In MiT's start Brian is 16, nearly 17. His birthday is in early January. Dom had recently turned 23, his birthday is in November. I will let your brain work out whether that means she was 19 or 20 when he arrived, lol, because mine just started playing the "but WAS SHE?" game with me when I went to write the answer for you and I don't trust myself. It's such a simple thing yet I just got a request for overtime from the department that does calculations so apparently it isn't.

Dom and Brian's Mark is fairly abstract and they just both think it looks like fog in headlights after a speeding car cuts through it so it's not something that needed to be full saturation for Dom to have thoughts about what it looked like when it was coming in. Yes though, in that story he was referencing it was right before his 6th birthday. In retrospect I probably should have just had him say 6 in that section, lol, because I've gotten questions about that before further complicated by me not remembering what I said about Marks coming in early in the story vs. how I thought about it in my head not lining up. My dream goal is someday when the series is done I want to go through and read it and smooth out those type of bits where there's a little disconnect and that would likely be something that I would fix just to make it easier for readers to reconcile.

For me, Dom was about 16 when Teresa died and about 19 when Tony died. That does mean that Mia was a minor. Dom mentions at one point that his aunts and uncles had to step up to keep their lives running and yes, that does mean that for awhile she was under an aunt's custody.

Our parental timeline and making everyone younger means, for me, that in MiT Dom wasn't in Lompoc for very long. He would have been a teenager with a recently deceased mother and a very recently deceased father trying to run their family business and raise his sister - a lawyer would have painted such a sob story for him. All of his priors at that point would have been racing related and Vince mentions at one point something along the lines of "when was the last time we were arrested for speeding? freshman year?" (if you're not American that's ~14ish years old) so it's not like there were loads of arrests for them to throw in the judge's face to make him impose a harsh sentence. What I'm saying is that Dom's sentence was more than a slap on the wrist but it also wasn't nearly what it could have been. Shorter parole/community service when he gets out. All that to say for me he was in barely a year. Less, probably.

The Market is a family business (there's actually a little section in MiT5 that discusses a bit more how they run it) and thus not something Dom started himself. I imagine the garage was opened VERY shortly after he got out. Currently Dom hasn't said much about the logistics of that so I won't either ;)

Vince is Dom's age. I imagine the drinking problem started while Dom was in and started getting out of control after he was out and they were living a little more wildly. Their intervention would have been a good year or two before Brian arrived to them. Leon and Jade are also around the same age.

I think I hit all of your questions but happy to clarify where I can or offer up any more if any spark! Again, sorry I can't be firm-firm in some of this, I hope why makes sense :)

Are there any artists that you like to keep updated with on their art or learn specifically from?

Only loosely. While I search tags/topics I'm interested in I will see work from the same few people and a few have stuck out but I don't tend to follow anyone and specifically keep up with them anymore.

Do you feel any urge to be more part of your local community and wish there were more oppurtunities to share your art?

I do, however I live in a valley with a population of 500, many of them off the grid people and their art tastes revolve around local wildlife and conservative themes. I think it could be fun to try and break into that anyways as an opportunity to get out of my usual subject matter if only I had the time and energy for yet another project.

Have you thought about doing public art or more community based projects? What about collaborations?

Since I don't have connections or a community, I tend to stick to myself. I've done small collaborations with friends in the past though and I've liked it. What I've learned is that it takes an acceptence of differences from all parties involved to collaborate on anything effectively and that is hard to find and maintain. Because of that it's not something I've found I can just jump into, it has to fall into place naturally.

How do you feel that your art impacts those that you do intereact with? Could you describe a normal interaction with your clients?

This is a tough question because in the past I've been known for my "unsavory" work. Most people I talk with including my friends didn't know I was an artist before meeting me so they got to warm up to what I did and were okay with it considering how normal of a person I was. As for clients, I keep things strictly professional and never choose to say more than I have to. I work with people who can have pretty extreme interests and while I respect that, I try to keep a reasonable distance. Most seem to understand this.

What barriers have you experienced in gaining exposure for your work as an independent artist?

I don't think the algorithm favors art like mine, I disagree with the idea of an algorithm completely because of how tailored it can get to people as if no one is able to make choices as to what they see anymore. In other spheres like that of VRchat, the infrastructure isn't there at ALL to support the discovery of new or interesting content. As a solo entity, there is not much I can do for myself it seems other than rely on people searching for specific tags.

How has social media influenced your approach to creating art? Do you feel pressured to follow certain trends or cater to popular themes?

I do not feel pressured but I do see the appeal. Trends seem to be a chance to get seen. It's like a big community event almost where if you participate, there is a decent likelyhood you will be seen by more people including those who might see something they like and stick around.

Have you observed any conflict between creating art for yourself and creating art that sells? How do you balance personal expression with market demands?

I have been conflicted about this. Generally I've found time to do both, however. Given the way I schedule, commission work has a specific amount of time I need to do it and after that I'm free to do my other stuff. I have suffered from the time commissions take out of my life though. I have a mountain of ideas and projects that can never be done thanks in part to having work to do that drains my creative battery.

Do you feel that there is a risk of “capitalizing” on certain artistic movements or themes? How does this affect your choices?

I see no risk unless you fear losing yourself. I see them as an opportunity to try something new and maybe even stay relevant in the long run if thats what you want. I'm thinking about 90s/2000s artists whose style/subject matter is still firmly rooted in those times which is cool in it's own way but experimenting with new themes could enhance that and make something very unique.

Have you encountered community pushback on any pieces you’ve displayed, and how did you handle it?

Like I mentioned before, I was known for unsavory content. I've never personally cared what people think of me or my work for a specific reason. My philosophy is that artistic expression should be free and limitless. I do not judge content I don't like, I simply do not partake. Likewise I expect the same for myself. I respectfully disagree with anyone who thinks otherwise. The good thing about the internet is that I do not have to engage in conflict if I really don't want to. So I don't.

I would also like to provide a space for just a general discussion at this point and ask where do you think I am going with all of this? I know it may seem like a super silly question and very open ended but I am curious how my vague request has impacted you.

You seem to be someone interested in knowing other people's perspectives regarding art, maybe to enhance yourself using knowledge from so many different sources? Maybe it's just a simple interest that makes you feel good. Either way I support people choosing to listen to other's opinions. I personally am trying to open myself to more social opporunities so that's why I responded to your post about interviews. It's nice to be heard and to admit to myself and others that I do know a little bit about something.

Transphobia/homophobia

Starting off strong, but it has been bugging me. Let us start with the trans issues we have in the human world. Demons and angels alike are shapeshifters to my knowledge. The dame event also shows that the boys are completely comfortable with crossdressing. I'm pretty this topic is not even a thing in the Devildom. I will not go into the history of transphobia, but it is completely human in my opinion. Imagine your MC is trans or nonbinary (like mine) and they havs a conversation with one of the demons about the internalized views they have on gender and the boys just going "???? Why would your family/friend(s) say that to you?" I like to imagine they know about transphobia, but do not completely understand why humans made it an issues.

"If you're uncomfortable with your current form, you can just change it..." "I'm not a demon, Asmo."

To add on to this topic in the homophobia department (though I'm talking sexualities that aren't heterosexual), Asmodeus has flirted with Solomon multiple times in-game; and the characters all (except Luke) romance you if you so wish. MC is gender neutral to make the game inclusive. Shoot, Thirteen was added to the game though she is not dateable yet. I feel homophobia/biphobia/etc is another one of those human issues they know about but do not understand. Like kiss who you wanna kiss, and date who you wanna date. Why are the humans making it complicated? I've seen no things in-game/manga/anime that even hint towards toxic mentalities like these. It just does not exist. If anything, they are mad because someone else is getting MC's attention instead of them, not because of gender being the same or different. It is a bit far out there for some, but I stand by this theory.

Memory/time

These supernatural beings remember specific details from thousands of years ago like it was yesterday. Their sense of time and memory is so weird. Solomon, a human, has trouble remembering things from the past; yet somehow (and this happens often enough in-game) these non-humans can recall a random torture session or trend that was farther back than when my grandmother's grandmother was a thought. The Great Celestial War happenings can be told in detail from multiple characters. I really do not believe they have memory repression the way humans do to cope with traumatic events. They just kind of live with the knowledge in their brain forever. Now, this is not to say their memory is perfect. But, it is pretty darn good if they are paying attention or it is important to them.

Sensory differences

These beings probably have really enhanced five senses, but they also probably lack feelings that wouldn't be necessary in their respective realms. I once saw a headcanon that demons can't smell rain like humans can, and it goes along that line. I imagine the brother's sense of touch changed after taking on demon form as well as other senses. I actually have this theory that empathy is a sense like one of the five senses for angels and they can like train it. How does each species pick up emotions is a really fascinating thing. While sadness and depression seem to have universally the same effects, anger and glee are depicted differently. Also, demons definitely have a better sense of smell, but how much better? And do your senses strength vary according to which sin you are or simply from what your hyperfixation subjects of interest are? Beel has strong senses of taste and smell. Levi has sharp eyes and good reflexes. Asmo has a vivid way of describing the more sensual things. Belphegor's sense of touch seems to be the most sensitive as he is picky with his bedding. (Barbatos is just built different.) Et cetera.

"Your skin feels stressed, MC. Have you been sleeping well?" "Yeah, school's been- MY SKIN FEELS ?!"

Magic sensory is completely different through. Depending on how long and how hard you train in magic, it has different feelings. There were instances in the game where MC would feel something different from the magic than Solomon or the brothers would feel something similar but not quite the same. It depends on the nature of magic, but I feel it's also a species difference. Angelic magic would probably be irritating to a demon where demonic magic would probably be uncomfortable to an angel.

Random quirks

I think humans, demons, and angels all have little habits that they have that doesn't make sense from an outside POV but is normal in their society. Like how humans say "ouch" when they're not hurt or demons are more comfortable in the demon form or how angels will randomly quote rules or bits of text while talking. I can just imagine MC grimacing in the hallway and the closest being trying to figure out why and they continue walking as if they didn't just make a face that resembled sharp pain. Or, MC is having tea with Simeon and he does this habit angels do at groups with friends and leaves MC thinking there is in fact someone invisible on either side of Simeon. MC falls asleep in a cuddle pile and wakes up to everyone in their demon form snoring and has a mini heart attack.

I have no idea because it's fantastic, it deserves a lot more talk and attention! Fortunately it's getting there in views now at a million, but there still isn't enough people talking about the awesome stuff that the video gave us! There's a lot of great things about the song and music video but of course on my blog I'm here to gush about Eggman specifically, so of course he's what I'm going to focus on here heheh. I love the X vibes of the animation! Bringing back the similar style and some of Eggman's common quirks from it is a nostalgic delight to see and he looks so beautiful I wanna give him a big smooch 🥰💕💜💖 I love how he still has all of his classic mannerisms and energy because I don't think he'll ever lose it. He's still dealing with defeat after defeat from Sonic like always but he still knows how to have fun as his same handsome self and for that, he's better off than some of the other characters in this video XD

I was so overjoyed to see him enter his EGG CASINO. I always love Eggman + casinos, the look and atmosphere is wonderful and the Egg Pawn esque designs are great!!

That's one strong little stool to be sturdy enough not to break when he sits on it but it still wasn't enough to hold this heavy man without it sinking so much that the pole bended and got scrunched up! With these details and the way his outfit doesn't seem to be the best fitting, it appears that he too has gained a bit more weight over time, just like his arch nemesis has in this video.

You know how I feel about my Eggs in casinos as I have a whole Casino AU dedicated to a version that's main focus is all his casinos. The concept of main universe Eggman actually focusing more on casinos in the future like this video seems to imply, likely because of how much of a highly reliable source of income they are to help keep his operations going for so many years, is fantastic and right up my alley! I immediately felt total adoration for the design and this was the cherry on top, I'm absolutely obsessed now!

Honestly, it's very rare that I find myself enjoying fan or even official redesigns of Eggman, I can be very picky with them because a lot of them tend to take away things I love most about his design. But this ticks all the right boxes for me and only enhances his already existing beauty and appeal, it doesn't change too much about his physical appearance and style so he still has his true essence but it changes enough for it to feel new, which is exactly how a future Eggman should be. And he's as handsome as ever, I can't stop admiring him 😍💜💕💘💖

It surprisingly suits a bunch of my exact tastes and headcanons of mine for future Eggman! Most notably the casino stuff, sexy older Eggman, and the idea that he gains more weight with time and age and keeps it. Slimming him down in redesigns is a crime but I'm all for him plumping up a bit more instead, it would make much more sense. It appears he stopped trying to bother to zip up his jacket because of that and it looks too short now, so he can't button it down either. I love how his jacket and undershirt ride up, I always treasure a peek at the precious tum 🥰

Also can we please acknowledge the cake on this man because I'm so in love fjsbfjsndngmg

His outfit appears to take some inspiration from the Sonic Prime concept art design with the open jacket and white undershirt but in my opinion, they improved on it way more and made me realize that it could be super appealing if presented in the right way. The added shoulder pads, cape, and more royal regal look with the crowned egg on the back gives it so much more style! Reminds me of one of the Boom concept art Eggman outfits blended in a bit too, especially with the yellow gloves. That might just be intentional!

I love everything about the Eggman in this video just from the few glorious moments of screentime! It really makes me wish this was actually a small series of sorts, where we could see what a future Eggman would get up to with what would change and what would stay the same, it's super interesting stuff! And if modern Eggman had to get a permanent redesign, this is the exact kind of design that I would accept and embrace wholeheartedly! :D 💕
