Synopsis

As such a new recruit into a group so enthusiastically supportive of the coming conflict, Madoc grapples with the fear of retribution for bringing forward what he saw. But as the pieces begin falling into place, the strain of his silence begins taking its toll.

Pre-Reading Thoughts
I honestly don't have much to say here. I only wrote it last November, and I skimmed it for my 2024 Writing Wrap-Up, so I don't think there's going to be too much about this reread that can surprise me. I guess I can say that I've been looking to write a tragedy for probably the last decade of my life. The closest I've ever come to one before would be The Fatal Choice back when I wrote its full first draft in 2015, but even then, the book was only the first in a series that would ultimately end on a definite high note. But I really enjoy a story that properly earns a gutting ending, and I could never think of anything I felt I could actually write about. Until the idea literally just sort of tumbled into my lap last October. So even if its a bit on the rushed side (I really wanted to finish this draft in November, and yk what? I did), even if it's a bit of a jumble right now, I'm going to be riding this high for ages.
