need a good adjective for "incorporating thoughtcraft-based components" to describe psychically-involved technology. if i am sticking with "thoughtcraft" (and i might not be) i am so tempted to go with "thoughtful" but also idk that's a little fanciful. but is that bad? not necessarily. might be bad if it gets confusing bc it's a real word, but it's not like it's a word i use often. sophic? eh. "mindful" is kind of funny also but feels a little close to a joke about "mindfulness". "cognitive" is kind of funny; might be a more technical one than most people use, or something.

also would like a noun for "technology that is [thoughtful]"; again, trying to avoid things using "psi" or "psy" just for quibbly aesthetic reasons. "mindtech" is boring and a little gross, "thought-tech" is too clumsy to pronounce. doesn't have to end with "tech" that's just kind of typical, i guess. "stuff" is also available as a suffix; would prefer to avoid "ware", i think, at least for psychic hardware; "thoughtware" and "mindware" too obviously call to mind psychic software, not hardware.

separately i think the YOV probably calls somatics, orectics, and logics "gutte", "want" and "ken", or similar terms. gut(te) i am the least sold on, but i would also accept a replacement for "want"--ideally something with a germanic root to keep the feel. i was gonna use "yen" on the assumption it was germanic, and its rhyme with "ken", but it is apparently from a Cantonese word referring to opium addiction, and doesn't really fit the theme i am going for there (besides not being appropriately historical for ME)

virtual psychic spaces made using ken(ning) i kind of want to have a nice little compound word, ken-place, but "place" is a little boring so i am looking for words for "place" in ME as well; "stok(e)" and "logh" are the most promising so far, rendering "kenstok(e)" or "kenlogh", of which i prefer the former, i think, but don't really like either

An anal fissure is a small, longitudinal tear or defect in the moist layer that lines the anus and the entire back passage. An injury brought on by the passage of hard stools or severe straining during bowel movements might result in a tear in the anal area. The distal part of the dentate line is where they are predominantly concentrated. Based on their aetiology, anal canal fissures can be categorised. An anal fissure in acute cases often heals with conventional therapy in 4 to 8 weeks. Surgery may be necessary for chronic, non-healing cracks that have persisted for longer than 10 weeks.

Sitz Baths:

Sitz baths have long been used as part of the anal fissure treatment protocol. Improvements in hygiene, a reduction in pain, and a reduction in the anal canal’s hypertonicity are all claimed advantages. Dodi et al.17 employed manometry to examine the effects of warm water baths on anal pressures at room temperature (23°C) in healthy individuals as well as in patients with fissures, symptomatic haemorrhoids, and proctalgia fugax. The anus was recorded while submerged in water that had three different temperatures (5, 23, and 40 °C). After 5 minutes of immersion at 40°C, resting pressures were measured for an additional 30 minutes.

Medicines:

Most anal fissures can be treated with steps to soften faeces. A high-fiber diet (such as psyllium or ispaghulla) or the use of over-the-counter medications to soften stools are two examples of such approaches.

In cases where the infection has spread or your immune system is compromised, the doctor may advise taking antibiotics. The infection is not thought to be sufficiently treated by antibiotics on their own, but they may be prescribed after the abscess has been drained.

Botulinum toxin injections:

Before proposing surgery, certain specialists could suggest botulinum toxin injections as a second line of treatment, mainly in high-risk patients. However, there is no consensus among experts as to a certain dosage or injection method.

Surgery

Patients who don’t respond to traditional treatment are advised to have surgery to repair fissures. Additionally, repeated cracks can result in the creation of scar tissue, preventing the anal opening from fully relaxing and necessitating surgical repair. Evidence suggests waiting 4 to 12 weeks to offer surgery after patients have responded to conservative therapy. A little portion of the muscle that relaxes or contracts to open or close the anus to pass faeces may need to be surgically removed in order to treat patients with resistant or recurrent chronic fissures with severe symptoms and reduce the anus’ spasm and pain (Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy). Within 95% of individuals who undergo this operation, favourable healing results are reported.

꧁Brother’s Best Friend꧂

Clandestine by @junghelioseok is fantastic. Jeon Jungkook is the best friend of the reader’s slightly younger brother. He’s sexy and charismatic and DEFINITELY knows what he wants. The growth of his (clandestine) connection with the reader is utterly delicious. This one made me laugh and swoon.

Guarded by @xjoonchildx is basically legendary in my book. The lady in this story is not only Hoseok’s best friend’s sister—she is also his BOSS’s sister and by boss I mean mafia. This is the first installment in Ana’s amazing Rap Line Mafia Universe and it delivers on every level. Hoseok is tasked with protecting the boss’s sister after she is being threatened by sinister forces unknown and sparks fly.

Plums and Melons by @winetae is THAT FIC. The fic I just daydream about sometimes. It’s a fic about two people caught hard in eachother’s gravity. It’s so sexy and cerebral and the main characters are so hot. Jimin is just a guy trying to live his life, but whatever is brewing between him and his best friend’s sister is driving him insane. He wants to be a good guy, but she just isn’t playing fair.

Are You Sure? by @cutechim is such a swoon-worthy and touching piece of wonderful. I tell you I was MOVED. This is beautiful and emotional and EXTREMELY satisfying. Taehyung’s best friend has a sister who he has always secretly adored. When she comes to him and asks for some intimate experience, he isn’t strong enough to say no—not when she’s everything he ever wanted.

Drivers License and Detour by @gyukult is sweet and tender and just a fantastic coming of age story. The reader has been in love with her brother’s best friend, Park Jimin, for almost all of her youth... but what is going on in his head?It’s a tender story that really warms the heart. AND I am happy there is more coming. I would read about these two all day. She published the second part and oh my gosh it’s so incredibly perfect I could scream. This was just such a beautiful journey every step of the way.

Milestone by @1kook is probably one of the first brother’s best friend BTS fics I read and it is amazing. I adore it so much. Because Jungkook is your brother’s best friend he is there for every milestone in your life. But you’ve both grown up now and neither of you are kids anymore. It’s hot. Like really hot. Dialogue and set up are so sharp and fast paced I really loved every second.

Young God by @njssi is scorching hot smut with complicated feelings and warm revelations. You think it’s going somewhere and then it goes somewhere else and honestly it is so awesome the whole time. Jungkook was always your brother’s sweet little friend, but he’s returned determined to show you that he is all grown up.

Tease by @caiuscassiuss floored me. I loved it so much! I spent the whole story just squealing happily about everything. This story has it all. It’s scorching hot. It’s enemies-to-lovers. It’s Taehyung. Jungkook’s sister and Kim Taehyung do not get along AT all—so she decides to bring him to his knees by making him desperate for her. It’s a wild and completely awesome ride.

Wasabi by @ironicarmy is a classic. Hobi is a bad boy that Namjoon vehemently refuses to let near his precious baby sister. But love is too strong a force and soon Hobi and the clever object of his desire decide that some things are worth fighting for. It’s a really sweet story of facing challenges and relying on the people you love. Warm and fuzzy feelings abound, but it’s also super hot.

Forbidden by @btssmutgalore is a masterwork blueprint for this trope. Hobi is a carefree player who falls brutally for Taehyung’s sister. They two of them eventually give in to a VERY steamy series of secret encounters and feelings get very involved. This is hot, suspenseful, and emotionally satisfying. Excellent characterizations as well.

Prohibido by @personasintro is an office AU with a twist. Namjoon is not only her brother’s best friend, he is also her boss and the two of them have incredible chemistry. Watching them pretend that they’re not insanely attracted to each other is so endearing and hot. Reader is convinced her feelings are one-sided. It’s lovely and fun. Definitely a slow burn, but worth it.

Strawberry Kisses by @kimnjss is a fic that I devoured in one sitting and then re-read again immediately. Jeon Jungkook is a player who matches with a girl on a dating app and has no idea she is the sister of his revered mentor and close friend, Min Yoongi. I laughed. I cried. I GASPED OUT LOUD a bunch. It was a whole thing. This is a hybrid social media/written AU and it’s pretty much perfect.

Tempestuous by @ppersonna is so special to me because it was written at the very beginning of my friendship with Lindy. She was looking for requests and I was quick to request my favorite trope. Lindy is bae now and this fic she wrote is marvelous. You are forced to spend the weekend in the same house with your sexy arch-rival Taehyung who just so happens to be your brother’s best friend. Naturally snarky hotness ensues.

Off Limits @floralseokjin is basically a famous entry when it comes to this trope. It’s a Jin fic and Miss Jordan writes EXQUISITE Jin characterizations. There is a hint of mistaken (or unknown) identity in this one which makes it even more fun. Sparks fly between you and a devilishly charming Kim Seokjin at a party. You don’t find out until later who he really is—and why he’s off limits.

And finally I’ll recommend my own Brother’s Best Friend fic All I Want for Christmas is You featuring a charming Taehyung who falls for Jimin’s sister. Jimin basically blackmails his best friend into escorting his sister to several holiday galas. Tae and Jimin’s sister have never gotten along, but they soon discover (through multiple pranks and mishaps) that love (and desire) are out of their control.

Not Your Fairytale by @yeojaa is incredibly sweet and tender. Erin really does emotion so well and her Yoongi characterization is honestly so nuanced and brilliant. This story is about a girl who had her heart broken and instead of canceling the cake tasting she scheduled with her philandering ex-fiancé, she wrangles the tsundere best friend of her brother to pretend to be him.

Brother’s Best Friend by @bts-hyperfixation is a short and sweet moment between two people who have been fighting their attraction for each other. It is so hot and delicious I tell you. You’re in trouble and the person you call is probably the person you shouldn’t—but you aren’t the only one willing to take a risk tonight.

Off Limits by @kaddiiction will break your heart and put it back together again. This one was recommended to me by a reader and I cannot thank them enough. It is fantastic. Jimin is a player but he crosses the line when he begins a liaison with his best friend’s sister. Still there is far more to this situation—and Jimin—than meets the eye.

꧁Best Friend’s Brother꧂

Orectic by @gimmesumsuga is one of my favorite fics of all time. It is a hybrid fic where the reader is a cat hybrid and Hoseok is the brother of her best friend who comes to stay with her while her bestie is away... It is so tender yet SO HOT. I’m telling you I cannot even keep count of how many times I have read it.

Theophany by @ilikemesometaetaes was a JOURNEY. It made me so emotional. Like the story centers around art a lot, but let me tell you, this fic IS art. Jimin is just the man of my whole dreams in this piece as the brother of a former best friend with an irresistible allure. It is a coming of age story with the most beautiful twist. AND THE LOVE SCENE—oh my gosh I screamed it was so good. This story is just so so good.

Run by @neonlights92 is Jungkook’s story in the mafia universe I am COMPLETELY OBSESSED WITH. You don’t have to read the whole series to understand it (BUT YOU SHOULD). This is best friend’s brother meets arranged marriage and honestly it’s fantastic. Jungkook doesn’t do love and affection and being forced into an arranged marriage with his sister’s friend who has always had a crush on him is just a blow to his freedom... or is she? GAH! This story—like all the stories in this universe—is superb.

The Magic to Happiness by @readyplayerhobi is a best friend’s brother meets teachers AU meets Hogwarts AU. Now... all of those are top tier tropes so finding them together is like winning the lottery. Hobi was once just a skinny kid who had obvious heart eyes for you (his sister’s best friend) but now he’s tall and confident and really attractive. The magic of this story is evident in every word of the sweet relationship that blooms between these two.

Problem with You by @monvante is so sweet and kind of hilarious. I giggled so much! Jungkook is your best friend’s brother and he is kind of too perfect and too handsome and he’s always around and you hate him and he hates you... Right? When you cross paths with the infuriating Jeon Jungkook at your best friend’s wedding, you discover that you may have been wrong about a great many things.

Show Me Yours and I’ll Show You Mine by @ktheist is so so SO fabulous. I was obsessed with this (now complete) series from the very first installment. You and Tae are besties who have know each other since you were little kids, but lately Tae’s older brother Jin has been lookin mighty fine. Just how far can you push him till he breaks. And if he breaks.... what then?

Now, I think you all know that I obviously love Steph’s writing. Besides from being one of my favourite authors, over the last two years she’s also become a very close friend! There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t talk to her and I treasure that so much! You may not understand my mind sometimes Steph, but I think you sometimes remain the calm in the chaos that is Jo and I!

In terms of writing though, I truly adore Steph’s writing so much. I’ve remained a fan since the beginning and I’m still mind boggled as to how long Sweeter Than Sweet is! It’s a testament to your stubborn Taurus personality that you’ve kept going for so long, and you FINALLY FINISHED. I’m so proud of you and getting to work on new things.

I know you worry about your writing but everything you write is so smooth and effortless. The world’s you build are simple but are so much richer because of it. It lets you delve so deeply into the characters until you almost feel like you know them, feel so fond of them and so happy to have read them and been involved in their lives even if only momentarily. I love to read your work and know that you’ve enjoyed writing it, because the dialogue you write is so beautiful and emotive.

Whether it’s writing a one shot, working on a series or on some reactions, every story Steph does feels so unique and yet it has that same gimmesumsuga flare in every one. They’re easy stories to read and even easier to love.

Now that the masterpiece of Sweeter Than Sweet is (nearly) done, I can’t wait to see what’s in store afterwards!

Sweeter Than Sweet - OT7 x Reader

This remains the OG OT7 story in my opinion. If you want high quality vampire fics, enjoy poly fics or just want to read some good smut then this is definitely the fic for you. It’s incredibly long and so well written, with the character popping to life due to the length. They all get a good amount of screentime as it were and we get to see smut scenes with every one of them.

Steph does an exceptional job at making each smut scene different, not only with the MC’s main lovers but with each member. Taehyung is nothing like Jungkook and nothing like Hoseok. But Jimin and Yoongi remain perfect with her and you can truly feel the love between the three of them. She may sleep with the other guys occasionally, but those are her two men that she loves.

And then you have the menace of Namjoon in the fic (he’s still not okay Steph, soz :P) and the whole underlying story arc with him. So you come for the vampires and the sex but then you end up staying for the storyline and the characters. You really root for the MC in this fic, hoping that she does okay and that she ends up well along with the other members.

See You - Taehyung x Reader

This fic sprung to life after the Wembley BTS concert, which I also went to. It was the first time I met Steph and here’s an amusing story for you all...my mum met Steph first because I’m socially awkward and anxious lol. But this story is such a wonderful look at Taehyung as an idol and what it might be like for him to have a one night stand with a fan. Unrealistic? Obviously, but it’s exceptionally sweet and I really loved it

It’s sweet and Taehyung doesn’t magically speak English, nor does the MC understand perfect Korean. They struggle a little, get interrupted by Jimin but it’s overall just...sweet and delightful. A lovely little two part series!

Beneath The Boughs - Namjoon x Reader

This was part of our Halloween collaboration last year and it’s such a wonderfully sweet and adorable fic. Dryad Namjoon is so...unassuming and gentle, it’s a delight to read him. You really get a sense of the real Namjoon in how gentle and attentive he is, how thoughtful and kind he comes across in real life along with his innocent thirst for knowledge.

His journey to becoming human is so sweet to read, all in the knowledge that he’s fully aware of what’s happening and what he’s doing. Because he loves her, the woman who defended him when she was younger and he was just a tree. I just loved how welcoming and...protective he feels, a true source of stability in troubled times I guess. It was a great addition to the collab and the ideal read for anyone wanting some soft and fluffy Namjoon!

Orectic - Hoseok x Reader

Okay but this fic REMAINS one of my favourites because it’s so rare to see Hoseok in a hybrid fic, but it’s even rarer to find one with a hybrid MC. I love how Hoseok took on the MC in this as a favour to his sister but she was still given plenty of agency. I don’t like hybrid fics that feel too much like ‘ownership’, it makes me feel a little weird. So I enjoyed that I felt like the MC was more his sister’s best friend and Hoseok was just looking after instead of anything weird.

But then you can tell that he evidently has some feelings for her and she obviously has some for him. The little dance they did around each other was cute, but then when she went into heat...hoo boy. I loved that all she wanted was Hoseok, even though he could have found another hybrid for her to have sex with. And that he tried to keep up with her. Obviousyl he’s gonna be pretty sore once it’s all done with given he’s...you know...human, but he’s obviously going to give it the good ol’ college try. And I loved as well that his sister was obviously openly happy that her brother and best friend had found love with each other, even if she was a little bemused at first!

By Its Cover - Jungkook x Reader

Look at that, I’ve done five rec’s and not one had the same main couple ha. I could’ve chosen any of Steph’s Jungkook fics but By Its Cover stands out the most to me. Anyone who knows Steph knows that she adores Jungkook and will fight to the death for him I reckon. And you can feel it in this fic. What’s better than tattooed, biker Jungkook falling for the MC at the place he works?

The misunderstanding between them both obviously works as the primary angst and you can see the MCs annoyance towards him, but the way she softens is so lovely to see. How she realises he’s not what she initially thought and comes round to him slowly, seeing that he’s a good guy. And finding out what he does! The rain is our friend in this story as it leads to that wonderful smut scene where we finally get the joining of the coouple we’ve wanted to see throughout the fic haha!
