1108: Facts and observations

•Day 0

1108 started on the 8th of November of 2015.

Jimin uploaded a video of him and Jungkook to twitter:

On the 26th of January 2016, Jk uploaded a small snippet of a song he was covering.

•Day 100

And on the 15th of February of 2016, Jk uploaded the entire song Nothing Like Us and noted to listen to the lyrics as they were expressing what he wanted to say:

In Korean culture, parents celebrate 100 days after a child is born. This is to indicate that the child made it through the first vulnerable phase in their life. In the same manner, the 100 days are celebrated by Korean couples.

And this is what Jk had to say 100 days after the 8th of November of 2015:

On 08/11/2016, a year later, Jimin posted another video of them:

On Oct. 28, 2017, Jungkook treated Jimin to a trip to Tokyo. It was because of this trip, that Jungkook released gcfTokyo on Nov. 08, 2017.

A fan used the images in the video and was able to determine the hotel and room jikook stayed at. It was room number 1108.

The video also used the song There For You by Troye Sivan:

Day 811

On the 26th of January 2018, in a Japanese fancafe, Jimin gifted Jungkook a drawing of a set of champagne glasses and a bottle. Note the details of the glasses.

On the 25th of April 2018, a day before the 900 day milestone, Jimin had a vlive where it was obvious he wasn't alone in the room. He kept looking to the side, laughing shyly and explained:

After he said this, you can hear someone whisper, "Jimin."

Day 1000

On August 3rd 2018, Jk posted a selfie while they were all filming BV3:

During BV3, jikook were able to look around the city alone, and have a boat date under the moonlight.

Day 1013

As you all may know 10:13 is also known as Jimin ssi, or Jimin time. It only makes sense that this day would be special to jikook too.

On the 16th of August 2018, Jimin tweeted a series of 3 tweets:

Jungkook was the only member that appeared in the photos with Jimin. It is also interesting to note the 2 butterfly temporary tattoos he had on his hand.

This is the same time when they had the photoshoot with the inflatable unicorn:

The next day, Jimin uploaded a tweet with the caption "Love Ya", and one of the photos was him and Jk.

On the 22nd of December 2018, when fans uploaded their selfies on fancafe, the fans let Jk know that Jimin had uploaded his own:

On Feb 22, 2022, Jk uploaded a story on insta where he is in a car, listening to So Good by Joan. The story was labeled 23:08 even though he uploaded it at 1:24 am.

On March 10, 2022, during the Permission to Dance Concert, Jimin used the 2315 numbers and stated the following:

On the 26th of October 2022, Jk uploaded a photo of himself while he was in Qatar. He uploaded the photo at 11:08 Korea time and, 5:08 Qatar time.

•Day 2643

On the 2nd of February 2023, Jimin answered a question on weverse at exactly 23:08. The question is now deleted.

•Day 2684

During Jungkook hosted a series of lives on White Day, 14th of March 2022. His first live was started at 8:11 pm:

During these lives, Jk changed to various outfits and had an extensive playlist. One of the songs that was included was There For You.

•Day 2855

On the 1st of September 2023, Jk hosted a short live to thank the fans for being present with him during so many birthdays. He ended his live quickly and it lasted 8:56 minutes:

My impressions

Based on Korean customs, celebrating different day milestones is typical in a Korean couple.

While some may think that jikook started dating on the 8th of November 2015, I think that's when they decided to be intimate with each other.

I feel like a jikook kiss had already happened since the last time Jimin asked Jk for a kiss publicly was in September 2015 for Jk's birthday. From there, one can only think that things proceeded quite quickly.

I think that in recent years, we have observed less mentions of 1108 because of BTS' popularity and so many fans expecting something from jikook.

It's possible that jikook has decided to not make these milestones known like they did before, but every now and then, they still reference that number. Who knows when they will do it again.

But who is counting, right?

You can take this one in an angsty direction following March 5th, or maybe a what if? Possibly, years after having their Memories form/told through time, as long as the core theme of MoY is present your submission will be counted! So many possibilities!

Rooftops can be a location for a date or even a place where these two can find solace and relax, maybe even contemplate feelings? As for the P3P portion, it doesn't have to follow the exact ending, you can be as creative as you'd like to be with it!

This is your chance to revisit the themes from last 3 years of ShuYuka Week! Have fun from the many options available! An original mod (Lia) made the first graphic and Chininiris made the 2021-2022 graphics in this bunch.

Highly specific but if you write for NPCs: the Railroad adopts a cat?

(Thank you for the request! I decided to make this one a reaction - let me know if you want an actual fic, but I felt this question best suited a reaction-style post.)

Reactions: The Railroad Adopts a Cat

Deacon:

Probably not the one who came up with the idea, but will happily take the blame if it means winding up Carrington.

Calls the cat by a different name every week "for security reasons".

Secretly thinks he could learn a thing or two from the cat's stalking abilities.

Tries to give himself a new feline-based nickname and is quickly shot down by Desdemona.

Desdemona:

"Why is this thing roaming HQ? Deacon, do you have anything to say to this?"

Frets immediately over the security risks a loose animal could cause.

She becomes much more open to the idea when she realises how the cat boosts morale amongst her team.

Briefly considers the idea of therapy pets for both rescued synths and Railroad Heavies.

Doctor Carrington:

Is almost immediately aggravated at the sight of the creature.

"Don't we have actual synths to worry about? That thing could carry diseases."

Relents after seeing the various Railroad Heavies taking comfort in the animal after strenuous missions.

Is the one who actually suggested the possibility of therapy pets for rescued synths.

Drummer Boy:

Is the one who lured the cat into HQ in the first place, but is happy to let Deacon take the blame.

Finds the cat a welcoming distraction from the tedious job of being the Railroad's liaison.

Is the one in charge of making sure the cat doesn't bolt from HQ every time the door opens.

Definitely the cat's favourite Railroad member.

Glory:

Briefly annoyed over the tiny tripping hazard roaming Railroad HQ.

She warms up to the cat quickly when she realises just how angry Carrington is over it, though.

"No heart, Carrington? Look on the bright side; maybe you can train this thing to be your little assistant!"

Unless it's to rib on other Railroad members, she doesn't pay all that much attention to the cat.

Tinker Tom:

Deeply concerned over the idea of a cat inside HQ, worrying it could be an Institute ploy of some kind to spy on them.

Constantly scans the creature with every test he has come up with.

Relents a little when it becomes apparent that the rest of the Railroad trusts the animal, but still actively avoids it.

Some members hypothesize he dislikes the cat because it reminds him of his life prior to the Railroad.

Bonus! Railroad Heavy Sole Survivor:

If Drummer Boy wasn't the one to bring in the cat, it was the Sole Survivor.

Reminds them of pre-war times, so they enjoy having it around.

Usually the one to bring back cat food and supplies from the outside.

Revels in teaching the other members of HQ what it was like owning pets before the bombs dropped.

K/S Spring Fever 2022 is happening!

K/S Spring Fever is an annual fest celebrating Kirk/Spock Day via fic, art, vids, and other forms of fannish expression. The fest takes place on the AO3: K/S Spring Fever 2022 Collection. K/S Day is a fannish holiday that occurs on March 24th. It was first created by The K/S Press in 1997.

Why is K/S Day on March 24th?

William Shatner's birthday is March 22nd, Leonard Nimoy's birthday March 26th. K/S Day was originally based on the pattern of Presidents' Day in the U.S. which takes place on the third Monday of February every year. When fans invented K/S Day in 1997, the idea was to pick the Monday closest to Shatner's and Nimoy's birthdays, and that happened to be Monday, March 24th. While President's Day is not on a fixed date each year but can move a few days back and forth depending on the date of the third Monday of February, K/S Day is always celebrated on the 24th of March; it just makes things easier. 

Wait, I thought there's a K/S Day in September?

In 2009, K/S fans on social media declared September 15th as K/S Day, as this was the original air date of Amok Time in 1967. It is likely that they had no idea that this fannish holiday had already been created a decade earlier. September 15th is therefore the date most likely associated with K/S Day on Twitter and Tumblr.K/S Spring Fever takes place in time for K/S Day #1, but we wholeheartedly welcome the existence of a K/S Day #2. There can never be too many days to celebrate the delight of K/S! ;-) 

Do I have to be on Dreamwidth in order to take part in this fest?

No, a DW account is not required. We have a community on Dreamwidth for announcements and discussion, but schedules and important admin posts will always be publicly visible. The only account you really need for this fest is an AO3 account. You are, of course, encouraged to post/link to your work anywhere you like to after creator reveals. 

Is this a fic exchange?

No. K/S Spring Fever is a prompt meme, that means participants will not get matched one-on-one and assigned to a gift recipient as is the case in exchanges. Members sign up and post prompts until the defined deadline (see the schedule). Prompts can be claimed by anyone who is signed up for this fest, and the resulting fanworks need to be posted to the collection until the deadline according to schedule. If you need more detailed information on how a prompt meme works (e.g. how to edit your prompts, where to find your claimed prompts etc), please see this section in the AO3 FAQ. 

"Spring fever"? Is this a pon farr fest?

Your fanwork does not need to include fever (pon farr or not) or spring. There is no theme for this fest apart from its focus on Kirk and Spock. Feel free to go wild with your prompts.

1. K/S Spring Fever is an event for adults as some prompts or fanworks might be mature or explicit. By taking part you confirm that you are 18 or older. 

2. The focus of your work should be on the pairing Kirk/Spock or Kirk & Spock. Slash (romantic and/or sexual relationship) and gen (friendship) are equally welcome. K/S has many layers and aspects, and this day is a celebration of them all. No other pairings will be accepted in this fest. 

3. When we say K/S, we mean: both TOS (series and movies) and reboot. No RPF, please. AUs and mirror universe are welcome. 

4. Crossovers between different Trek franchises or between Trek and other media are permitted if the individual prompt states this or actively invites them.

my notes: i was looking into the schedule bc i was telling my assoc friend that we are overdue on reruns and wanted to double check i had my facts straight. i have conclusions bc i take this mobile game more seriously than my actual studies.

its been over a year since MoVo debut and we havent had a rerun. the only other hells that took over a year to get first rerun were 4M (2019Nov-2021Feb) and SoS (2020Jul-2021Aug). its been longer than both for MoVo (2021Jan and counting). MoVo reran in 2022Nov, putting it at almost two years to rerun.

its been almost a year and a half over two years since first rerun of SoS. this is similar to TP (2019Sep-2021Mar) and BM (2020Jul-2022Mar). it hasn't crossed either yet. its crossed both. update: ToL, which debuted two months after SoS, had its second rerun before SoS. SoS finally reran in 2023Sept.

TR and Ark had no hell reruns between them. this hasnt happened since SoS and ToL in 2020, where the schedule was (i think) fucked up by all the collabs they were doing, on top of bringing ToL exactly on anniversary date. update: this repeated with RS and CD.

endnote from the original making of this post: make of all that what u will. or dont. personally the next few months schedule will decide for me if theyre really being stingy with hell reruns, since we have had BM recently and will hopefully be back on track. hopefully. update: as of mid 2023, the schedule seems to be recovering, with one rerun between every two debut hells.
