Osun
Osun in Ise (traditional yoruba lineage) seems to represent something much different than what the Cubans do. In Lukumi and Santeria it’s Yemaya who is the mother of all while traditionally it’s Osun. Osun is the orisa of life giving waters, blessed pregnancy (ibeji), justice (ogboni), feminine power (iyami) and the various forms of love that are the root of those qualities. in Lukumi she seems to give off the impression of a young, innocent and frugal light-hearted being while in Orisa-ifa she remains an orisa of beauty while being a warrior, responsible mother, wiser than the male orisa, and creator of the merindinlogun and founder of Dafa (ifa divination).
