this is so funny, air just finished the thief’s ch 1 and the dancer’s ch 2 is in the exact same place so it goes from the thief going like ‘wow. I’m being forced into a bloodbath to be the successor of an assassins guild.’ to the dancer like ‘I wanna be a star! I wanna be just like mama!’ and air just told me about the last chapter of the first octopath’s dancer and I’m so baffled but it’s hysterical. anytime something dramatic happens in someone else’s chapter me & air just start yelling at the screen like “I WANNA BE A STAR!! I WANNA BE JUST LIKE MAMA!!!”

while air was playing a part of temenos’ ch 3 internally I was just like ‘wow we are watching a bl’ and the octopath hits us with this line

I have nothing against agnea as a character but every time air plays through one of her chapters I turn to air and go like. air I can’t stand this. am I a misogynist. like ok casti and throné have their heavier stories and stuff, lots of substance etc, but partitio and ochette are lighthearted characters with more lighthearted stories and those routes are also pretty substantial with partitio ‘kill your landlord’ yellowil and ochette ‘welp, gotta stop the apocalypse!’ lastname and agnea’s is so. wattpad. in comparison. what if you wanted ✨to be a star, just like mama✨ and beyonce was taught by your dead mom but she uses her ✨stardom✨ for evil. what are. the themes. there isn’t enough narrative to have metanarrative

WAIT OH MY GOD I HAVE TO TYPE THIS OUT BEFORE I FORGET. genuinely and sincerely I think it’s hysterical. so air was playing octopath and at one point there was a skit with osvald and someone—I’m p sure throné was asking him if he ever swore eternal love to his wife and he said something like ‘no. I never say anything I cannot empirically prove with math.’ and air points at the screen and goes ‘most autistic man alive’ and I was like ‘well, I wasn’t gonna say, but’ etc and then we talked abt it later while talking abt family stuff and I was like. air. I am just now realizing. I literally don’t have a memory of dad saying ‘I love you.’ AND I DON’T MEAN LIKE IN A TRAGIC WAY THIS IS LITERALLY SOMETHING THAT HAS NEVER OCCURRED TO ME IN MY ALMOST 30 YEARS OF LIFE??? BECAUSE IT WASN’T RELEVANT???? as in there’s always been enough emotional security expressed otherwise. anyway this came up partially because we were talking about how knowing my parents makes it Extremely Make Sense why I am who I am, they are. and I say this With A Feeling So Complicated. they are in fact adhd-autistic power couple. and I have to re-emphasize this isn’t something that weighs heavy on my heart I TRULY think it’s legit HYSTERICAL that I have no memory of my dad saying he loves me and I ONLY realized it JUST NOW because of video game. listen it’s just like this and that’s fine.

air’s playing octopath traveler 2 and they’ve been telling me about a character who’s a prince that was betrayed by his brother and best friend and framed for the murder of his father and also there’s this blood curse. and a gal who’s an amnesiac who wakes up and figures out huh I might’ve been part of a wellness cult…? and I caught the tail end of the cowboy merchant who wants to end poverty by winning capitalism. and the one I just sat through just now. was a dancer who *~wants to be a star~* and had to save the town festival from a boar. I turned to air like “hey. what is octopath traveler.” and air was like “not this????”

one thing I think is very funny about partitio’s story is that his father’s ex-business partner tries to take partitio in the divorce. dude that’s not even your kid

so like the cleric. and his story. he’s got this young knight that he keeps running into and he calls this knight “little lamb” and the knight goes like “stop insulting me!” & Air is like. you’re reading this as an insult?? that’s how you’re reading it??? & I’m pointing at the knight like this is a guy who definitely doesn’t know what bl is
