The Red Baron's cameo in Ottoway Volume 2. I might repost this on his birth and death days. Landscapes are my weakness, and bird's eye shots too. Thank George Barbier for the Autumn colour scheme.
Major Isenstein's red 1915 Chevrolet is on the road below.
@tristandelarkadien for landscape art exchange!

Today I finished the lines for the 140th page of Ottoway vol 2, 50 pages to go! I'm technically two days behind schedule, I had hoped to have it all drawn before the new year. After that it'll all need to be coloured, and have a final check over with my editors. Here is a yet-to-be-coloured sneak peak of Vincent's back story, as thanks for the support from my followers, and fellow ww1fiction artists & writers! 🥰 For anyone new to the Ottoway project, here is my web page.

@almost-a-class-act and I are recording a pod about SOE agent Violette Szabo tomorrow while talking about Carve Her Name With Pride (1958) / Violette Szabo,'The Life That I Have' by Susan Ottoway (2002). Do you have any tidbits to mention on the pod or questions you want us to answer?

Roy Ottoway Wilkins (August 30, 1901 – September 8, 1981) was a prominent activist in the Civil Rights Movement. His most notable role was his leadership of the NAACP; in which he held the title of Executive Secretary and Executive Director. He was a central figure in many notable marches of the civil rights movement. He made valuable contributions to the world of African American literature, and his voice was used to further the efforts in the fight for equality. His pursuit of social justice touched the lives of veterans and active service members, through his awards and recognition of exemplary military personnel. He was born in St. Louis. His father, having fled the town in fear of being lynched after he refused demands to step away and yield the sidewalk to a white man. When he was four years old, his mother died from tuberculosis. He was raised by an aunt and uncle in St. Paul, MN. His nephew was Roger Wilkins. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Sociology. In 1929, he married social worker Aminda "Minnie" Badeau; the couple had no children of their own, but they raised the two children. He worked as a journalist at The Minnesota Daily and became editor of The Appeal, an African-American newspaper. After he graduated he became the editor of The Call. His confrontation with the Jim Crow Laws led to his activist work, he moved to New York City as assistant NAACP secretary under Walter Francis White. When W. E. B. Du Bois left the organization, he replaced him as editor of The Crisis, the official magazine of the NAACP. He chaired the National Emergency Civil Rights Mobilization, which comprised more than 100 local and national groups. He served as an adviser to the War Department during WWII. He along with A. Philip Randolph, founder of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters, and Arnold Aronson, a leader of the National Jewish Community Relations Advisory Council—founded the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights. LCCR has become the premier civil rights coalition and has coordinated the national legislative campaign on behalf of every major civil rights law since 1957. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence #omegapsiphi https://www.instagram.com/p/Ch4bjGMrqPPOoV-3vJGXYtucP9QvzgS63hd7mk0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
