I recently got access to Disney plus and I just remembered OUAT is in it

So I'm looking through the episode titles and descriptions in Greek and... shit they're bad.

1x8 "The Price of Gold", the title was translated into "The Prince of Gold" for some reason.

The thumbnail for 8 "Desperate Souls" is this??

Did they mistake thumbnails with OUATIW?? XD

For episode 1x17 "Hat Trick" there's no direct translation in Greek, so instead they named the episode "The Mad Hatter". But then they named 2x11 "The Outsider" as "Yaoguai" because I guess that appears there.

BIG CRINGE they translated 3x17 "The Jolly Roger" as "The Pirate Flag" because yes that is what jolly roger means but it refers to Hook's ship jfc

I should have been the one to translate the titles agdsafddhgx

The description for 3x19 is "Zelena threatens to kill Henry if Hook doesn't kiss Emma" and while it's accurate, it feels so funny to just read this as a description for the entire episode agdsghafdsg

Is this what the episode descriptions are in English too? Cause for 3x20 "Kansas" the description is "Mary Margaret is about to give birth" and that's even funnier XD

4x03 "Rocky Road" is "Dangerous Road" because we don't have that ice cream flavour in Greece -_-

The description for 4x04 "The Apprentice" is "Hook asks Gold to stick his hand back" but the verb used is like... the verb we use for welding metal and idk it looked weird XD

The description for 4x12 "Heroes and Villains" is "Our heroes try to unite the pieces" and I'm like WHAT. WHAT PIECES??

Seriously, I would have done a much better job.

The description for 4x16 "Poor Unfortunate Soul" is "Gold and the Queens of Darkness torture August"??? Like yes they do but that isn't the focus of the episode??

Description for 4x21 "Mother" is "Regina doesn't trust her mother's intentions" and I'm like did they mix Lily's and Regina's names XD

They didn't do the "scary dragon bitch" justice in the translation -_- My Disappointment Is Immeasurable And My Day Is Ruined

5x01 "The Dark Swan" is "The Black Swan" for some reason?? The word we have for "Dark" would have worked, but okay...

The rest of the thumbnails are good, though I guess those were not handled by the translators.

There's something about seeing this screenshot with the title for "Swan Song" in Greek. It's been nearly eight years and this storyline still pulls at my heartstrings.

5x13 "Labour of Love" is supposed to be connected to Hercules' Labours, but they didn't use the word for that that we use in Greek. It's still a correct word for "labour" but it should have been the word we use for Hercules' Labours. Again! I would've done a better job!

5x18 "Ruby Slippers" is translated as "The Kiss of True Love"??? Like I know the English title was a play-for-words for the Ruby/Dorothy ship but come on!!

6x12 "Murder Most Foul" is translated as "The Real Murderer" and the description says "Regina helps Robin adjust to Storybrooke" and again. Yes that happens there. BUT IT'S NOT THE FUCKING FOCUS.

For three episodes straight, 6x15, 6x16 and 6x17 the descriptions are about what Hook does. "Hook is trapped in another realm with the Nautilus", "Hook bets his most prized possession in a cards game", "Hook and Tiger Lily join forces against the Lost Boys". Like yes that happens but again not the focus?? Was a Hook fan responsible for that because I kinda relate lmao that's all I remember too 🤝

7x14 "The Girl in the Tower" has the description "Ivy tries to reconcile with Anastasia" and I'm like what?? Did they mix things up? And even if that happened in that episode, IT'S NOT THE FOCUS.

Massive disappointment. I should have been hired to write episode descriptions. Hmph.

Right now, I could use a bit of hope as I’m in an unstable part of my life where nothing seems to be going right, where everything good comes too late, and it’s that time of night that I can’t stop thinking about the what ifs and buts. It’s been long enough where I rewatched another scene from “The Girl in the Tower” (an episode that keeps on giving years after airing) and came back with more, the idea to stick to my guns and that Margot had something going on with what she said below, whereas I remember other plot points like the Troll’s security camera eye, romance, or Margot’s “Yeah kinda. But all the best people are” line when Tilly’s sad and feeling ‘crazy’.

You know those lines of advice that Margot says after she saves Tilly from getting hit by a car and sees how lost Tilly feels, enough to not have watched where she was going or being self deprecating? That’s what I’m going on about.

“You’re running away.” It’s not a question, running away... of intrigue, confusion, or judgment. It’s a statement, a deduction Margot makes, having recognized all the signs that she once saw of herself in Tilly; doubt, fear, and hope that a new place would take all the troubles of the past away. Sure, she might not have ran away from Hyperion Heights due to being the most likely suspect of a murder case, but heck, no way was she gonna let someone else make the same mistake.

Especially not since she just came back from Tibet, where people religiously tell their hopes, prayers, and dreams to statues for good luck and blessings upon themselves and others. Of course Margot would take someone “saying goodbye” while talking to a statue like a friend seriously. She tells Tilly straight out, three words with a face full of regret, “I tried that.” 

I think this regret come from the fact that on a moment’s notice, Margot booked a ticket so that she could come back as soon as possible, from the other side of the world after so much time away, just because her mom, Kelly, called saying she’s had a “big change'' and loved her. For all she knew, Margot left on bad terms with her mom being angry at her for wanting to explore the world, discover herself, and be a little rebellious, considering she ended up working at the bar, instead of going to college at Vassar first. The curse may have left Robin with cursed memories that paralleled what could have been if Zelena and Robin never made up or made room for one another, but Margot probably felt a genuine pull to return, wanting closure, change, the idea that if they both put in the effort to understand and reconnect with one another, it wouldn’t be so bad.

Running away didn’t diminish the problems or still the regrets, but rather it just lingered once the distractions faded. Similarly to how Alice came back to the tower, where all her problems and past were untouched, bringing a raw desire for everything to be bandaged and okay, after having gone anywhere but, Margot tried to go as far as she could before she was reminded of home.  

As if giving advice to a best friend rather than a stranger, she admits to Tilly, “You know what I found out? Sometimes you just have to look up and face your problems.” Having finally come back to Hyperion Heights, knowledge of the lived outcome in her bones, her words have maturity etched in them. It’s not wrong to run away when things get overwhelming, but the way I took it was, that sometimes when possible, it takes strength, patience, and courage to come back to or stand your ground in a difficult situation, with complex things that can’t be fixed with a simple solution. 

Margot implies that things will get better if they can get through the rough patches first rather than waiting and being riddled with the psychological toll it takes to be reminded of what’s being put off. It’s the same obstacle either way, but with time, people change and leaving something without resolution only makes it harder to move on. Sure, although Tilly was found to be innocent due to her literally looking up at the Troll with a security camera installed and Margot did eventually give her mom a second chance to tell the truth in her own time, the two had to face their problems head first and their happiness followed from there.

"Lock her up." Alice's reaction to this is really upsetting when you realise how terrifying those simple ^ words must have sounded to her. A life time of being locked up in the tower and now some asshole does it to her all over again without a second thought about it.

Once Upon A Time Rewatch: 7x14 The Girl in the Tower

Wahoo! It’s my favourite episode of s7! I remember being so excited for this one to come out. 

And I love that this is the 14th episode of the season and is about a tower like ‘3x14 The Tower’, which is probably my favourite episode of S3.

Poor Alice only has her toys to talk to. And that’s been the case for around 7 years. Must have felt so isolating. She’s such an optimist though.

The fact that she has the characters from Alice and Wonderland at her party makes me feel more certain about my theory that Wonderland II was a place she would mentally go to to escape the tower and due to her wish magic it became real. So, in other words, I think she created that realm.

She must have been so terrified when the tower started to shake because she has absolutely no escape. If the tower collapsed she’d still be trapped inside.No wonder Killian was so devastated when he learned the tower was in ruins.

She’s freeeeee!

Rogers is so desperate to help Tilly, bless him.

Oh okay. Alice got out the tower years ago. I’m gonna say two years, because, like I’ve said before, the older you make Alice when working out the timeline, the older you make Ella. She’s like 14 years older and if you add too many years it starts to become implausible that Ella could be that old.

Regina just casually giving her sister a kiss is so sweet.

Did they have hot cocoa in the New Enchanted Forest? 

The New Enchanted Forest really needed a name of it’s own. I think they call it the ‘Magical Forest’ in the introduction to the season but it needed a more official name like Misthaven.

Tilly must have literally just past Ivy as she left Henry’s apartment! They’re ex-girlfriends and you can’t take that away from me! Just one interaction is all I ask! Why couldn’t we have got one interaction with them?! They were so so close! That was the perfect opportunity!

Tilly looks like she’s been crying, bless her.

I believe the troll’s behaviour reflects how Alice is feeling inside. She’s keeping all her emotions about being trapped for so many years and feeling incredibly lonely buried deep inside until finally she breaks down at the tower with Robin.  

Don’t call her crazy!

Rogers tucking in Tilly will be the death of me.

Ah. Tilly said once she saw Eloise Gardener something happened to her mind. It sounds like Eloise put her in a trance through the security camera. Or, I suppose she could have gone looking for Tilly afterwards and erased Tilly’s memories of the encounter.

Having your mind feel like 2 jigsaw puzzles in one box sounds terrifying like it’d make everything so confusing. It sounds almost like being in a dream and nothing makes sense but while your there it somehow does, except she’s awake.

I haven’t sat upside down for a while. It’s a nice feeling seeing things from a different perspective. I might try it later.

She picked up the Robin Hood book! 

Alice: “He’s just scared and confused and he’s all alone!” That’s how Alice must feel. I just wanna hug her!

Alice must feel awful being locked up again.

How is that phone still charged? I guess Zelena could have enchanted it for her. Does it have wifi?

Clayton is the worst. I wonder if he’s based on Clayton from Tarzan. They’re both hunters.

Them holding hands when they’re frightened! I am no longer alive!!

Alice probably thinks it’s completely normal that her wishes just seem to come true. 

“Sometimes I believe in as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” Love that Alice in Wonderland quote!

Oh. She is trying to phone Lucy.

Oh my God. Poor Tilly finding those hair clippings in her bag and not remembering anything. She must be beyond scared. That’s horrible. She’s probably feeling sick. I’ve never found any hair clippings in my bag but I’ve had bad autistic meltdowns where I can’t remember what happened afterwards. Then I’ll find out and be like, “Jesus Christ. Wtf me?!” It’s terrifying.

I’m glad Robin realised that protecting people who need it is more important than seeking glory.

Find someone who looks at you the way Robin looks at Alice.

Robin looking at Alice when they reach the tower and facing the reality of what Alice must have went through. You can see it hit her.

The first 17 years of her life. Wow.

Alice: “I hate this place. I hate its stupid stones... and its stupid turret and its dumb... mossy base. And I hate... I hate that all I've wanted to do since I left is come back. At least when I was trapped, I could have hope that when I got free, everything would be okay. But then I did. And it wasn't.” Robin: “Hey, hey. It's okay...” Alice: “No, no, it's not okay. Who in their right mind wants to be a prisoner?! I've escaped these walls... but I'm still bloody trapped. I'll never be free of it, will I?” Gaaah! This scene always makes me cry! It makes you stop and think about the psychological and emotional effects Alice’s situation would have on her. It’s heartbreaking!

Robin can sense Alice has magic. Evidence of her still having magic! No one’s taking this headcanon away from me! 

Aww I forgot it was her birthday. 

Alice: “…I didn’t wanna be Alone.” Robin: “You’re not alone. I’m here.” Just take my whole soul dammit!

I always get confused. Is that Emma’s car or a replica?

“I've been so many places since we saw each other last. It's curiouser and madder and sadder... and so much more wonderful out here than I ever imagined it could be. So thank you. You don't have to worry about me anymore. 'Cause I'm okay. I promise. I think, after all this time... I'm finally... Gosh, it's such a big, beautiful world, isn't it? Free.” I can’t!! I just wanna hug her!

Her troll friend saved her. That little friendship between Alice and the troll is so heartwarming.

Facilier’s honesty is so intriguing to me. Usually villains lie to keep those they love but he tells her everything and lets her choose what to do with that information. It’s refreshing and a fun dynamic. 

Do you think Regina ever found romantic love after s7? I kinda like that she didn’t but at the same time I would have loved for them to go back to there own time, just before Facilier was killed. I’m curious about other Oncer’s thoughts on Regina’s love life post-s7, though.

Where’d robin get the cake from? I guess Alice could have conjured it.

I wonder what Alice wished for this time. To spend more time with Robin?

Every birthday when Alice makes a wish Killian and Robin just have to hope she hasn’t got really into, like, Frozen or something and that she doesn’t accidentally wish for an eternal winter and giant ice castle beside Granny’s.

Margot hugging her mama! All I ever wanted since s5!

Rogers asking Tilly to stay with him!! Papa and daughter bonding time! He can’t let anything happen to her and the killer’s already broken into her shipping container. He’d never forgive himself if they got her.

She’s so happy and she doesn’t have to be alone anymore. Someone sees her. The same person who’s always seen her when no one else could.

OUAT 7X14 Thoughts

I loved this episode a lot. It’s definitely one of my favorites this season. I love that Alice and Robin’s meeting was in line with other True Love couples. I think that Rose and Tiera have a lot of chemistry and this episode really showcased it. Alice’s escape from the tower was not what I expected, but I like that she was able to free herself by magically creating a troll. I really liked that Alice and Robin started off on opposing sides, but came together at the end. I love that Robin mentioned she stole Emma’s Bug for eight whole minutes. One of my favorite parts of the episode was when they were surrounded by the troll hunters, needing an escape and Emma’s Yellow Bug magically appeared and scattered the hunters. The Bug appearing was due to Alice most likely wishing for a way to escape. If she was able to turn a non-magical item into a magical one (since it was driving itself) and transport it to her by just wanting it to happen, she must be extremely powerful, say the Guardian powerful? Alice was able to talk down the troll from ransacking the forest and he turned into the troll statue she hangs out by in Hyperion Heights. And since the troll was holding, Emma’s bug, it is know a statue as well. Which means Emma doesn’t have her bug anymore because it disappeared. I really hope that when the curse breaks, the Bug becomes an actual car again and Emma can get it back. And speaking of Emma and her bug, Robin showed Alice a picture of it and a blonde-haired women (how does her phone work?). I’m not sure if the person in the photo was Emma since her clothes don’t seem to be what Emma would wear, but it was the right shade of blonde and it is her car, so maybe it is her.

I also loved the Hyperion Heights part of the episode. I thought it was great that Rogers invested Henry’s help in proving Tilly’s innocence. I loved the parallels between Alice knowing everyone in Hyperion Heights, but no one knowing her and being free, but still feeling trapped in the NEF. I also liked that Tilly started to read Robin Hood when she found a sticker from Hyperion Heights grocery. She then went looking for an alibi, but no one remembered her being there. She did, however, find her backpack in a dumpster after Henry pulled her off the sidewalk and into an alley. Eloise or whoever’s setting her up put the locks of hair in her backpack. I thought Tilly meeting Margot (cursed Robin) was great. I really loved that Rogers invited Tilly to stay with him.

In the side plot, Lucy investigated Facilier’s apartment, while Regina went on a not so pretend date with him. I don’t really feel that Regina and Facilier work well as a potential pairing, but we’ve only seen two episodes of them so my opinion might change. The fact that Facilier wants the Dark One Dagger is not helping matters. But why does he want it? Presumably for its power, but why does he need the power of the Dark One? Does he want to become the Dark One?

Clayton

The misogynistic hunter guy that kept antagonizing Robin and Alice during the “Girl in the Tower” episode is named Clayton. I’m having a strange night time thought but he has the same name as a certain hunter/villain in Tarzan. Not to say that he’s meant to be the stand in for Tarzan’s Clayton, but they do share a lot of similarities. They both are hunters, believe woman should leave the fighting to the men, assume the protector and leader role of a mob against well intentioned people who act stranger than the norm or frightening looking creatures. Tarzan’s Clayton goes against gorillas and Tarzan while Jane advocates for him. Ouat’s Clayton goes against the Troll and Alice while Robin tries to defend her. At first, they’re fine with the prospective women acting curious and brave in the face of something they can’t comprehend. But when a passive and logistically reasoned way to deal with their problem or source of power comes up that they can’t agree with or understand, they blow a fuse and lock up the two protagonists/to be lovers.

Both Claytons end up being blinded by their rage and how much they could gain from taking down the “monsters”, eventually getting waylaid and told to back off/stand down. They may be dense but make for fun to bash on characters.
